User program for APD export

How would I find a ABAP function/method for displaying a BW infoobject, like cost center (/BI0/HCOSTCENTER), for a user selection screen in a group/hierarchy format? Similar to BEx hierarchy selection for node level. Are there any example programs for doing this? I'm setting up an Analysis Process Design export transaction program for a user to export data as needed and they need to dynamically select the hierarchy group for cost center and cost element to change a query variant for the APD to use.

I don't believe anyone has done this before. At least I can't find any content on replicating BEx hierarchy selection screens from an ABAP function.
I did however complete the user called APD process via custom ABAP transaction code. It did required a special user role to execute an APD process w/o having access to the APD app itself.

Hello everyone,
Some background:
We have a complex reporting based on calculated key figures (CKF). However, the business rules do change over time, and the formulas for CKF get outdated. So the business meaning of CKF remains the same, but the way it gets calculated - changes.
Yesterday CKF "A" = B + C
Today CKF "A" = B + D - F
Since the customer requires reporting for the former periods, maintaining several CKF of the same business meaning but calculated differently for each period becomes a problem.
Instead of having several versions of CKF "A", we decided to use APD, to periodically run the query with valid CKF, save the query results to transactional ods, then move it to another infocube. Now we will have the infocube with figures and dates, and the customer needs to maintain just one CKF "A".
After trying this out we've encountered following issue:
Since the query will run periodically we must use a time period filter (in fact - variable on a time characteristic - APD is not working with filter) to select CKF valid for this month for example.
The query in APD can work with variables only via query variants.
Now, the question is how to change the query variant automatically?
We can not force the customer to create new query variants each month for dozens of reports.
We plan to integrate APD in the process chain (although we haven't check how it works), where the query variant will be changed using a program.
so please advice:
1) is there any function module to change query variants in the background
2) which tables contain the query variant, so we can change it using abap
3) may be you can suggest other options to make it work

This code will always maintain the entry for the variable 'ZDATE_INV' as range from the start of month till current month.
you can modify it store anything yuou want.
Now when creating the variant by clicking the create variant option when running the query.
you have the option in the "selection variable" column here you will find only TVARVC table as option select it and then in "name of variable" use the Z variable you have just created.
This will automatically pick the current value for the variant for that variable.
So anytime the variant is used in any of the scheduling it will pick the inout from here.
make sure that the variable for time interval is of same type as that of the entry in the TVARVC table.
That if it is of type calmonth then TVARVC table should have variable entry of type calmonth.

Metrics for Super User Programs

Does anyone out there have any metrics that they have used successfully to measure the effectiveness of their Super User program? I'm looking for tangible ways to quantify/qualify the business benefits that Super Users drive other than the numerous anecdotal benefits we suspect that they drive.

In addition to the types of metrics already provided, I would recommend going directly to the end users.
A number of questions could be asked such as:
- When you have a question on how to use the system, where do you turn first (super user, manager, help desk, friend, etc.)?
- If you turn to a super user, how often can he/she answer your question immediately?
- If he/she cannot answer your question, where do you turn next (super user follows up, I call the help desk, I take a guess at how to perform the function, nothing gets done, etc.)?
- How valuable is the super user program for you (very valuable, somewhat valuable, not valable, never used it, don't have a super user)?
The questions would need to be targeted to the situation.
If the company has a survey culture (they respond to surveys), a simple survey could be used and then repeated. If the company does not have a survey culture, focus groups or individual interviews could be conducted.
Most super user programs are designed to support the end users, so in addition to other metrics, the end users should be involved in the evaluation.

This process chain contains 13 processes For each location, which is running in parallel. Some time we are getting the error message " Program for creating a model is locked by User

Locking happens if there is any overlap of models or duplicate scheduling of jobs with same variant.

So this means for you, you get the lockentry if the modelname, logsys and apoapp is the same. So please check again your variants if there is one with the same integrationmodels.
This can be the only reason we you get here this entry in your joblog.

How do you set default programs for all users when deploying Windows 8.1?

I have my Windows 8.1 image set up the way I want including the start screen, theme, etc. But how can I set the default programs for all users. Most of out computers are non-touch and I want the desktop apps (e.g. Windows Photo Viewer), not the store apps
to be the default for opening pictures, videos, etc. Can that be done?

So, I did some research by using "Set Default Programs" app in Windows 8. Then I ran the super ProcMon.exe tool from Sysinternals.com <Thanks Mark!>
After filtering out the junk, I could see some *interesting* writes to the registry:

New for Windows 8 is a dism command: /Get-DefaultAppAssociations that allows you to export a control case from a known good computer. Microsoft the supports importing the exported xml file via GPO. For example, before I changed the file association, .AVI
was pointing to the Modern App, after the change the /export-DefaultAppAssociations shows change to the new app:
From:

I am still doing some investigation to see if a GPO is required, or if you can inject the association into a local user account. Also, if you do have some Modern Windows 8 Touch Tablets, it would recomend keeping most of the Modern App defaults in place,
perhaps seperate GPO's for Desktops/Laptops vs Tablets?

Calling a driver program by submit in user exit for PGI

I have a question regarding post goods issue (PGI) for transaction vl01n,vl02n and vl06g.
earlier i have created a smartofrm and a driver program for sending the form output attachment in a mail after delivery posting manually.
for this i have created a smartform and driver program in which all the logic to attach and mail send is written on delivery posting.
but now customer want this fucntionality on Post goods issue (PGI), when user go to trasaction vl01n ,vl02n and vlo6g and pressing PGI button,
then mail should be sent automatically with for output attachment.
i have found a user exit which is being triggerd on PGI press MV50AFZ1 in which implemented the implecit enhancement in perform
user_exit_save_document_prepeare with below code.

After going to transaction vl02n i am putting unposted delivery number and clicking on PGI button.
in debugging its going to condition check for ucomm for PGI buttion and delivery type.
if condtion is fullfiled and curser going further on submit statement, but without executing the driver program ZSD_DECLARATION_CONFORMITY it coming out of enhancement.
its not performing the task which is develped in the driver program.
Please help me with the submit statement structure if i am missing any or other solution for my problem.

User Presets for Exporting Files

I want to create a user preset for exporting full size jpegs to a folder to be named later. Whenever I try and save it Lightroom defaults to email. How can I resolve this?
Here are my settings:
Lightroom 4.2
export to hard drive
choose folder later
jpeg format

So, where is the emailing part coming in? Is it not being saved with 'Hard Disk' as the export service ('Export To' field in Export Dialog Box). Or is it being saved OK, but then when you go to use it the problem presents.

ICF - you either maintain the auth obj relevant at the icf service level itself or you can code call authority object and block access

Need a user exit for Export Control check in Sales Order fro VA01/VA02

 I need a user exit for Export Legal Control process in Sales Order.since Ship-to country in the Sales Order is not always the ultimate destination country User Exit needs to be built in with following logic
1. Check to see if ultimate destination country field is maintained in Sales Order
2. If a value is maintained then for the Export control checks use ultimate destination country instead of the Ship-To country (step 1)
3. If no value is maintained then use Ship-To country as default
The user exit is called when the user creates or changes a Sales Order.

Congratulations for the book: Abap Developement for SAP Netweaver BI: User exits and BadIs.
We're trying to implement the suggestions on the chapter 5.1.1 Interface of function module EXIT_SAPLRSR0_001 (page 136), however, we're having problens with the abap sintax CALL_FUNCTION l_d_name IF FOUND.
The command IF FOUND is not accepted.
It'll be very helpful to avoid issues on tranporting include zxrsru01.
I appreciate any additional help on how to implement it.
