User Registration Wizard won't work

I have tried to use the User Registration Wizard numerous times. Each time it freezes Dreamweaver CS3. I have to uninstall ADDT and reinstall it in order to use ADDT again.
Anyone else having this issue? It's not giving me any errors at all. Just freezing everything up.

so the table name is "user" then ? If so, this name is known to cause such errors, because DW internally treats this one as reserved word

My import wizard won't work, when it goes to the selection, I select to import from internet explorer, hit next and it just sits there and does nothing.

Let's start with your wireless router. I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.

User Registration Wizard Table

Hello folks,
I just started playing with the user registration wizard in the toolbox, and it appears to expect a pre-made table to store its information. Is there a specification listed somewhere for that table? Which fields, data types, sizes, etc. are expected?
The help file didn't list anything, but there are clues from the login settings. Do I have to figure this one out by trial-and-error?

you´ll find some (optional) fields when clicking on the "Restrictions" tab, and when using the "History" tab (for logging user actions) you´ll need to use another table to log actions and later build statistics reports for user activity. Actually all these options
(and also the required field types) are well explained in the ADDT help file
(configuring Developer Toolbox -> site specific settings - > Login settings -> restrictions tab / history tab)
Don´t know if you already seen the ADDT help, but it´s available when clicking on the Control Panel´s "help" button.

"user registration wizard" config

Hi:
I used the user registration wizard. But when I enter 2 user with the same "user name" get a erros: User already exists. Duplicate record found. There is already an identical record in your database, for the 'user_name' field.... even when the field in mysql is not unique.
This append even when I use the "insert recor form wizar"... but just for the user_name field
Is there a way to remove this protection... in my aplication a spect user with the same name.

Hello, I want to start with saying: Thanks for reading my problem.
I am using php4.4.8, with a mySQL DB.
I have followed Günter's Tutorial (Login tables: installation & configuration) to set up my tables.
In dreamweaver(CS3) in the user registration wizard, I am confused about the following:
1) Should I set default values for the following fields: active, level, login_date, disable_date, registration_date, expiration? If so, can you give me examples.
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

SQL Error: Column 'active' cannot be null
according to my tutorial´s SQL dump the column 'active' can´t indeed be NULL, but should have a default value of '1' to compensate this -- however , you can also change the column type to NULL in PhpMyAdmin.
The following fields: active, level, login_attempts, disable_date, registration_date, expiration.. are not filling in
many of those columns are not supposed to get a value inserted when you´re e.g. setting up a "login" or "register" page, and much of that actually happens behind the scenes -- one example: ADDT (respectively the underlying scripts) will be inserting some value into the "login_attempts" column in case a user submits a wrong username/password combination.

Upgraded OS from Windows 2000 to XP, now my Registration Key won't work

Any reason why my registration key won't work when I upgraded my OS from Windows 2000 to Windows XP? Oh, and I also upgraded the QuickTime application.

QuickTime 6.5 registration will not work with QuickTime 7.
You'll need to purchase a new "Pro" key or revert to QT 6.5 Pro.

activation
Can I remove them from the form or do I need to hide them and apply a default value?

actually this fileds can be removed form the transaction, but it will not affect the registration process.

Registration form won't work on a Mac - Designed on PC

Using LC CS5, built a registration form (windows machine) and they work great except for those using a mac. they can't submit by clicking on "submit by email" it does nothing, and when they just attach the form it comes in blank on my end unless I click in the fields then I can see their information, but as soon as i tab to the next field it disappears again. I thought the fomrs were coming in blank at first. I cannot get them to to automatically go to the response file either.
Any help would be much appreciated, I really need these forms to work for both platforms, What do I need to do or what do they need to do to get the form to work

My guess is that you are not using ADobe Reader to read the forms on the Mac but you are using the PDF viewer that ships with the Mac. That product has trouble reading XFA forms .....so make sure you use Adobe viewers and your forms will be filled properly. Regarding the email issue ... depending on how you setup your email button will determine whther this will work on a Mac or not. If you submit to a mailto:email address URL then it shoudl work. If you use other methods then that relys on a windows API called Mapi to inetract with a mail client. This technique will obviously not work on a Mac. Make sure you are using the mailto technique....all though I do not have a Mac to test with and verify.

I re-installed my iTunes and the latest Quicktime player but the registration key for Quicktime Pro isn't recognized.

They have gone now and I am attempting to either change the password or delete the user. It won't allow me to choose the user I created. I am logged in as myself and it states that I am an "Admin". The user I'm attempting to change is listed as a "standard" user and there is a white checkmark inside an orange circular background on the user pic in the list of users.
Can someone help me? I am having a hard time believing that OSx will allow me to create users and allow them use of my computer and it's drives, yet it will not allow me to change the password so I can monitor what they might have been doing while logged on? What if this were my child? This guest left under sketchy circumstances, and I'd really like to be able to ensure they were not using my computer to do illegal things or to have illegal communications.
Any help would be appreciated. (It's odd that it was so simple to "create" a user and set a password for them.......but it's complicated or a little known process to reverse.

Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

Updated to Yosemite, no problem. now iPhoto and iMovie won't open. Says I need to update software however, when i try to update indicates my User ID and PW won't work for these two pieces of software. User ID and PW works everywhere else.

I am having the same problem. I even changed my password and updated all of my security information. Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work. Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00. So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid. Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

My wireless keyboard won't work for one of the users

All of a sudden the wireless keyboard stopped working for me, but it works when my wife logs in. I had to create a new account for myself and the keyboard now works. However, the keyboard won't work for my original account. Any thoughts?

Does it shows up as a device in your BT menu under the problematic user? Does it connect? If you delete it from your admin account and re-pair it, does it work?
There is a command called ioreg, which can help as well.

Why is it that each time I upgrade my iPad, half of my apps won't work properly but worst of all my email won't send after the latest "patch" today, wake up Apple I am a new user and getting sick of this problems

WHy is it that each time I get an upgrade some of my Apps won't work when they did with the previous version. I have just upgraded to v7.01 and now I cannot send email, wake up Apple and get it right as I am a new user of Apple technology and not impressed.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

If you don't have original install disks for your Mac, you can order replacements disks directly from Apple at a nominal cost. The original install DVDs are required to reset the password.
If you have no data on your drive that you want to keep, you can boot up from the OSX Snow Leopard disk and install OSX SL.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and hold the C key during startup. The Mac should boot from the CD/DVD drive into the installer.
Follow the prompts, erase the disk and install OSX Snow Leopard.

A particular widget won't work for a particular user

I recently upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6. After trying out various widgets I have hit on a curious problem: the Unit Converter widget that is installed with the system will not work on my user account. It works on other user accounts. It works on a new "test" user account. But on my account, the widget just seems to hang: it appears, but the menus stay empty and I cannot type anything into the number fields. On other accounts this is the way it looks before it has loaded. And the same thing happens on both computers! All other widgets (Apple and third-party) seem to work fine on my account.
I have tried the following:
- trashed com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
- trashed com.apple.dashboard.plist
- trashed caches/dashboardclient
- repaired permissions with disk utility
- cleaned up caches with Applejack
- uninstalled and re-installed widgets
but the problem is still there.
The Activity Monitor tells me that the Unit Converter DashboardClient is using between 80% and 94% of CPU.
What could be special about my user account that is preventing Unit Converter from working?

Thanks for the advice, Niel. Interestingly enough, the Unit Converter had not created a plist file. I did try you suggestion of dragging all the widget plist files to the desktop, but the Unit Converter still didn't work.
But I have now found the solution. The problem was being caused by a custom number format that I had inherited from the Panther installation. In Tiger it's impossible to set a custom number format - the number format is set automatically for each region and it's impossible to change it. But it was possible to set a custom number format in Panther and it is recognized by Tiger. So I can either keep using my custom number format, in which case Unit Converter won't work, or set one of the standard number formats, in which case Unit Converter works (I see that now it actually launches, it has also created its plist file: eveidently the file didn't exist before because the widget had never got as far as creating it).
I think it's very bad that Apple removed the custom number format feature. And since the old custom number format from Panther was recognized by the new system, it's also bad that this widget doesn't work with it.
But at least I've found the solution to my own problem!
