User without Name?

Here I have experimented an amazing thing. Need views on it.
I have created a user and password with a single space.
SQL> create user " " identified by " ";
User created.
SQL> grant connect , resource to " ";
Grant succeeded.
SQL> connect " "/" "
ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
SQL> Connect Jameel / xxxxxxxxxxx
SQL> select * from all_users where to_date(created)='16-MAR-06';
USERNAME USER_ID CREATED
83 16-MAR-06
---My question is how a user and pwd created without values. If created then how can it be connected?

The username and password are not without values. I.e. it is not null.
A single space (ASCII char 255 if I'm not mistaken) is used as both username and password.
The problem likely occurs that the connection string does not support the use of the double quotes as is the case with SQL commands and the SQL interpreter/parser. After all, the SQL engine never deals with the CONNECT as it is not a SQL command.
And for this to work, you need the client driver, the Listener and dedicated server/dispatcher to correctly deal with the enclosing of the username in doublequotes. It would seem from your experiment, that they do not support it.
