Username/Password for Oracle Portal Schema

hi,
I've found a way to change the complete layout of the portal pages (was my request yesterday) by using the Dreamweaver MX extension for building unstructured UI templates but in the configuration of the web service to use, I have to set some values, in brief the schema's username and password and it's written that I can read the Oracle AS documentation to know how to find out these 2 values but I'm reading it since yesterday and I can't find a way to get them.
Does anyone knows how I could?
Thanks.
D.

D.
The value of the portal schema passwrod is stored in Oracle Internet Directory. You could use Oracle Directory Manager to query this or try this shell script for unix:
#!/bin/ksh
echo "\n================================"
echo "\n Get Schema Password From OID"
echo "\n================================"
echo "\nEnter the password of the cn=orcladmin user (usually the ias installation password): \c"
stty -echo
read OIDPW
stty echo
if [[ -z $OIDPW ]]; then
echo "OID Admin password required!"
else
echo "\nEnter the name of the Host on which OID is installed : \c"
read OIDHOST
if [[ -z $OIDHOST ]]; then
echo "No OID host specified!"
else
echo "\nEnter the OID Listen Port (default 3060): \c"
read OIDPORT
if [[ -z $OIDPORT ]]; then
echo " - No OID Port specified, using default"
OIDPORT=3060
fi
echo "\nEnter the desired Oracle schema name (default orasso): \c"
read DBUSERNAME
if [[ -z $DBUSERNAME ]]; then
echo " - No schema value entered, using default"
DBUSERNAME=orasso
fi
echo "\nLooking up the ${DBUSERNAME} schema password from $OIDHOST:$OIDPORT"
echo "\n>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>"
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapsearch -h $OIDHOST -p $OIDPORT -D "cn=orcladmin" -w "$OIDPW" -b "cn=IAS Infrastructure Databases,cn=IAS,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext" "orclResourceName=$DBUSERNAME" orclpasswordattribute
echo "\n<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<"

  • Username and password for oracle financials

    Hi,
         Can anyone help me in finding out the username and password for oracle financials application.
         Thanks in advance
    Jaya

    Many Applications users are predefined in the Vision Demo database. The following username/password pairs have System Administrator responsibility:
    - SYSADMIN/sysadmin
    - MFG/welcome
    - OPERATIONS/welcome
    - SERVICES/welcome
    - MRC/welcome
    - HRMS/welcome
    If you have a fresh database, you can try SYSADMIN and/or OPERATIONS account.
    All application users are defined in FND_USER table.

  • What is the password for the Portal User in 9i Release 2?

    What is the default password for the Portal User in 9i AS Release 2? I'm assuming this is the equivalent user to the Portal30 user in 3.0.9?
    Thanks.

    Jeremy,
    The default password for the Portal user in the same password as ias_admin. This would be defined at install time through the Oracle Universal Installer. However, if you're asking about identifying the Portal schema password in the database, you can login to the Directory Manager(assuming you're using Windows)and login as
    cn=orcladmin
    password: (ias_admin password)
    Click on (entry management)=>(cn=OracleContext)=>(cn=Products)=>(cn=IAS)=>cn=Infrastructure Databases => ReferenceName=sid:host=>ResourceName=Portal. Click on the entry and look at the orclpasswordattribute.
    Incidentally, you can also find the orasso password by checking the ResourceName=orasso.
    Note:198800.1 on metalink would be a good resource to follow.

  • What is the password for 'oracle' user created during XE installation?

    Hi,
    What is the password for 'oracle' user automatically created when XE is installed?
    I installed XE on Linux and it's created under 'oracle' user, but I don't know 'oracle' password. So, I cannot stop TNS listener.
    During configuration, it prompted me to enter SYS and SYSADMIN password but it didn't ask me to enter 'oracle' user password.
    Please let me know or point me to the document.
    Thanks,
    N

    Hi Jari,
    I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work unfortunately.
    When I type (sudo su -oracle) as follows, it still prompts the password. When I hit Enter key w/o anything, it seems to proceed and the prompt shows up in the following line. So, I thought it was successful, but when I checked 'whoami', it's not logged in as 'oracle'.
    So, I created the password for 'oracle' and logged in as 'oracle' using a new password. Then, I stopped TNS listener to uninstall XE.
    It would be nice if it's documented in XE document somewhere... since it's created by XE installation, I assumed some kind of default password was used.
    Thanks,
    N

  • I want to erase the automatic sign-in of username & password for facebook, because firefox always rfemembers my username & password. How will i disable it? please help.. thanks

    How will i disable the auto sign in of my username & password for facebook?

    If you saved the password in Firefox, you can clear that here:
    orange Firefox button > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
    ''or''
    Tools menu > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
    It's also possible that you have a cookie that keeps you logged in, but in that case, signing off from Facebook should end your session.

  • Advanced Development Techniques for Oracle Portal Components

    Hello friends,
    I have the following problem. I have a report and a form (on a
    view) in the same page, and when I select an item of the report
    the form is refreshed with the values associated to the selected
    item. The problem is that it makes it with delay, the first
    selection doesn't show anything and the remaining sample the
    data of the previous selection.
    This application has been developed as Ken Atkins explains in
    its document "Advanced Development Techniques for Oracle Portal
    Components."
    Oracle Portal Version: 3.0.9.8.0
    Thanks in advance.
    This is my code:

    You can make the report with a procedure from which you may call to a form by means of a link. It is a possibility, no??
    It is better a example:

         htp.p('<HEAD>');
         htp.p('</HEAD>');
         htp.p('<BODY>');
              sentencia := 'SELECT rowidtochar(rowid), campo1, campo2 FROM A';
              DBMS_SQL.PARSE(v_cursor,sentencia,DBMS_SQL.V7);
              DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(v_cursor,1,rowid_pref,18);
              DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(v_cursor,2,v_campo1,20);
              DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(v_cursor,3,v_campo2,20);
              vnumfilas := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE(v_cursor);
              LOOP
              IF DBMS_SQL.FETCH_ROWS(v_cursor)=0 THEN
                        EXIT;
              END IF;
              DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(v_cursor,1,rowid_pref);
              DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(v_cursor,2,v_campo1);
              DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(v_cursor,2,campo2);
              v_link := '<A href="PORTAL30.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid'||chr(38)||'p_arg_values=<form's moduleid>'||chr(38)||'p_arg_names=_rowid'||chr(38)||'p_arg_values='||rowid_pref||chr(34)||'>'||campo1||'</A> '||campo2||' <BR>';

  • Automated tool to convert from Forms to Dynamic Page for Oracle Portal?

    Hi Experts,
    We are thinking to convert majority of the forms in our portal to dynamic pages. Is there any tool to automate the conversion from Forms to Dynamic page for Oracle Portal 9.0.4.1.0?
    Thanks, Abbas

    Dear Abbas,
    You seem to have two issues... ;-)
    If you are finding the Forms are getting corrupt very easily, I'd suggest you go and open a Service Request into Oracle Support (http://metalink.oracle.com). There are a couple of ways where you can have these not corrupted (depeding on the Portal version you are in) and if there isn't yet a way you may get a bug logged and fixed within the next patchset eventually (improving the product functionality).
    As to changing it to a dynamic page it might give you a bit more flexibility... yeah. It really depends on what you desire to do. I'd slowly start to code them in this way if your goal is this. As to the former coded forms unfortunately as I've said there isn't a strait way to do that, so you may do this slowly in time...
    I hope it helps you a bit further...
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Password for Oracle user , sys , system , saprpd

    Hi All ,
    I just join a new company as sys admin . I tried to search password for Oracle user sys , system and saprd in my company password file . Those users password are not stored.
    Am I supposed to know those oracle user password ? If yes , Can I find them in my Unix system or sap application ?
    Please help !
    Felix

    It is not possible to determine the passwords if you don't know them. But perhaps note 562863 and the described default passwords are useful. Furthermore you can always change passwords if you have SYSDBA privilege using "alter user ... identified by ..." or "brconnect -f chpass".

  • Auto sign-on for Oracle Portal ?

    How do handle auto sign-on for Oracle Portal ?
    I am using Oracle Portal for my home page which should not have any login to the page.

    Just define your homepage as available to public. Then as PORTAL30, edit the user PUBLIC and make your homepage his default page. This way, when a user connects to your site, your page will be displayed without any login required. Note that the user will not have any personalized content until they log on and identify themselves.

  • Default username and password for Oracle EM

    Hi all
    I am running Oracle database server using the VM template 'Database App Development VM'. I have started the EM from the console and able to access it through browser. I used username and password as 'oracle'. But it is saying that 'user name or password are not valid'. Can you tell me what are the credentials to enter into the EM?
    Thanks,
    Ganesh

    Based on my install on a VirtualBox under Ubuntu, it looks like it comes pre-configured. As the Database Instance is already there and started up without any issues.
    However I don't see anything about installing or configuring EM.
    Any hints on where to find documentation related to OEM and the "Database App Development VM" install would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sample  PL/SQL Portlet Source Code for Oracle Portal 9ias

    Hi, I'm a newbie of Oracle Portal technology, and I have a problem:
    I would create a PL/SQL portlet that realizes the following functions:
    1) Retrieve the username of the portal user logged from WWCTX_API.GET_USER function.
    2) Insert into an oracle db table two values about two hidden fields in the HTML FORM of the portlet.
    3) Realize the insert commit through the click on the submit button on the Html form of the portlet. I would redirect by the same button to an other page url also.
    I've never developed in Portal, and may be useful if someone could post me the source code of the SHOW MODE SECTION in the PROCEDURE SHOW of a SAMPLE PL/SQL PORTLET that realizes the upper functions.
    Thanks a lot....

    Hi
    Here's the code from Helloworld_Portlet example:
    procedure show

    is
    l_portlet wwpro_api_provider.portlet_record;
    begin
    if (not is_runnable(

    ,p_reference_path => p_portlet_record.reference_path)
    ) then
    raise wwpro_api_provider.PORTLET_SECURITY_EXCEPTION;
    end if;
    Retrieve the portlet information.
    l_portlet := get_portlet_info(
    p_provider_id => p_portlet_record.provider_id
    ,p_language => p_portlet_record.language
    if (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_SHOW) then
    if (p_portlet_record.has_title_region) then
    Draw the portlet header and specify what links are available

    The has_title property is set at the page region level.

    end if;
    Draw the portlet borders.
    The has_border property is set at the page region level.
    wwui_api_portlet.open_portlet(p_portlet_record.has_border);
    Display the content of the portlet in the show mode.
    Use the wwui_api_portlet.portlet_text() API when
    generating the content of the portlet so that the
    output uses the portlet CSS.

    end if;
    elsif (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_SHOW_ABOUT) then
    Display the about page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Show About');
    elsif (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_SHOW_EDIT) then
    Display the edit page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Show Edit');

    Display the help page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Show Help');
    elsif (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_SHOW_EDIT_DEFAULTS) then
    Display the edit defaults page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Edit Defaults');
    elsif (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_SHOW_DETAILS) then
    Display the details page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Show Details');
    elsif (p_portlet_record.exec_mode = wwpro_api_provider.MODE_PREVIEW) then
    Display the preview page for the portlet.
    htp.p('Hello World - Mode Show Preview');
    end if;
    end show;
    I think you need to add this:
    You can get the values of your html-form with this command:
    v_hidden_1 varchar2(256);
    v_hidden_2 varchar2(256);
    v_hidden_1 := wwpro_api_parameters.get_value('name_of_hidden_1_in_html_form','p');
    v_hidden_2 := wwpro_api_parameters.get_value('name_of_hidden_2_in_html_form','p');
    You can get the actual URL with this command:
    v_url := p_portlet_record.page_url;
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Mark
