Using a X.509 Certification

Although there is at least some good amount of information about this topic (at least regarding code snippets), and after trying different configuration in the last days, I have some questions/issues with this subject:
1)
Name the X.509 certificate file as domain_user.p12, where domain is the Unwired Server domain and user is the certificate user. The user must have read permission+
+for .p12 file.
I am trying to understand in the specific case what is the user and the domain? Is it the user of the SUP Server ( supAdmin , supUser ???) is the user of the server ( Administrator in my case)? I find it hard to understand. As for the domain, is it the default domain (at least is what I can see in the SUP server)
2)
The system administrator must ensure the specified domain\user has u201Clogon as batch jobu201D permission on the Windows machine on which Unwired Server runs:
a) Double-click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policies.
b) Expand Local Policies and select User Rights Assignment.
c) Right-click Log on as a batch job and select Properties.
d) Select Add User or Group and add the domain\user.
In this case, I tried to add the following domain(s)\user(s):
- localdomain\user1
- localdomain\Administrator
- localdomain\supAdmin
Every attempt was unsuccessful.
So my question here is: what's the user and the domain that I should use? Is there a specific domain\user pair for the name of the file and another one  to add in the "batch job" properties? Any hint about this would be very appreciated.
Thanks.

  • Most useful (and difficult too) certification -for developer

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement that - i need to recommend to my management about a very useful certification - one that marks a quite high level of skill too. and this is for Development track -not on DBA track. The release is at least Oracle 10g . Which one would fit this need? They flatly tell me that ocp is just so easy and they want to find a better one.
Is Oracle expert on Pl/sql the one that is best choice based on this need? (we don't use oracle application developer so , while I know there is a certificaiton there, it is not relevant to us).
    thanks

Kindly somebody could share the info about this, what kind of exam for 10g or 11g.
My current profile is developer in database, I am not a DBA when I am looking in OCA certification, it seems this certification is for DBA. Please advice for developer which oracle certification is useful.

  • What CD self-study to use to do PLSQL certification?

    D20465 Oracle9i: Develop PL/SQL Program Units Self-Study CD Course
    or
    D20966 Oracle9i: Program with PL/SQL Self-Study CD Course
    What someone can recommend me?
    thanks

    Hi,
You should use D20966 Oracle9i: Program with PL/SQL Self-Study CD Course. It is the combination of D20465 with another course. See here for details.
"This course is a combination of the Oracle 9i: PL/SQL Fundamentals Self-Study CD Course (Part 1) and the 9i: Develop PL/SQL Program Units Self-Study CD Course (Part 2)"
It is also the one recommended by Oracle for taking the Program with PL/SQL 1Z0-147 exam.

  • Consuming WS using X.509 certificate not working after NetWeaver 7.02 SP08

    Hi
For more than two years we have had a solution that consumes web services over HTTPS using an X.509 certificate for authentication. Now, after upgrading to NetWeaver 7.02 SP08, the web services no longer work.
Today, roughly a week after the upgrade, all the logical ports have been set by the system to an Inconsistent state, and have been renamed with a prefix of ERROR.
When I try to re-create the logical ports I cannot assign the correct PSE file from STRUST to the newly created Logical Port. Previously, we would go into SM59 and set the SSL Certificate to the PSE containing the client and root certificates. But that option is apparently no longer available, see DUETE - Logical Port for OBAfielReciever.
I have been able to get the HTTPS communication to work again by copying the SSL certificate of the service provider into the PSE ANONYMOUS. But I cannot get the soamanager to use the client certificate, so I always get a "HTTP Code 403  : Client Authentication Error" back when consuming the web service.
Any pointers on how to attach the PSE to the logical port would be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Bo

  • Same Exam used in Multiple Certifications

Looking at the Exam 1Z0-051 it is used in multiple OCA certification paths. Two I am interested in are:
    Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate = 1Z0-051 + 1Z0-052
    Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate = 1Z0-051 + 1Z0-144
If I pass 1Z0-051 can it be used towards both of the above certifications (three exams rather than four)?

you only need to pass 3 exams for the above certifications.

Just FYI, You can look at the Java code ranch communities SCJP forum for perople's experiences with certification for additional valuable info regarding exam.
    https://www.coderanch.com/how-to/java/SCJP-FAQ
And for starting with SCJP, you can follow SCJP BOOK BY Kathy Sierra and Berta Bates which has good material targeted for SCJP.

  • Extracting X.509 certificate information from OSB/OWSM

    Hello everyone,
I'm using SOA suite 11gR1 and I'm creating a proxy service with an OWSM policy ( oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy ) . I'd like to know how to extract the certificate details from the incoming message so my Web Services can acess them with something like the WebServicesContext interface.
    Thanks !

I am working on this same scenario as well (and agree that OWSM documentation is incomplete for this important use case). Vikas Jain provides some further explanation of Verify Signature in a blog entry: http://ws-security.blogspot.com/2007/06/faq-owsm-1013-what-is-use-of-cerificate.html . Essentially he clarifies that the Verify Signature policy step is doing two different functions: 1) validating the signature using the public cert passed in the request, 2) validating that said public cert is actually trusted by the server (directly or through a trusted CA).
Unfortunately, even with this assistance, I have yet to get OWSM to work correctly using the X.509 certificate token profile for authentication purposes. OWSS does work for me but the desire is to externalize this security function to OWSM (outside of the service container).
Any information you find out appreciated.

  • Java certification exam

I've been using Sun's Java Certification practice exam (WGS-PREX-J025B / http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/java/java_progj2se.html) and I'm wondering how similar the practice questions are to the actual exam.
I also downloaded the freebie version of JCertify (http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/sightings/S3.html) which seems more detailed and difficult than the above.
Any comments comparing these two practice exams to each other, or to the actual certification exam, will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
as you surely know, nobody who actually did the exam can answer those questions because of an confidential statement you have to sign for taking the exam, BUT
for the programmer's exam I learned with the book "Complete Java 2 Certification Study Guide", ISBN 0-7821-2825-4, did the sample questions in the book and the attched CD and... I took it successfully!
    Good luck!

  • Application certification kit automation

    Dear sir\madam,
I am trying to automate windows application certification kit validation for desktop application by using the command line which is mentioned in the ACK whitepaper. Below is the commandline option I am using.
appcert test -apptype desktop -setuppath d:\cdrom\setup.exe  -reportoutputpath c:\Output\MyReport.xml
I am using silent installation\uninstallation to install\uninstall my product. However, my product requires a reboot to remove all the residual files . Please help me to generate the report after reboot? is there any commandline

  • Using On-line test without Portal

    Hi
Is there a way to use on-line test without the portal? I need to upload test data into the system but we are currently not planning to install portal. I would like to use the testing and certification database (that online tests use) in R/3 as it seems to be the best fit.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Manish,
You can view courses/tests using your company intranet instead of the Portal.  You would install the LSO iView on the intranet - the Portal isn't required.  That is the main reason the LSO uses just one IView and many BSPs.  SAP did this internally for their first implementation of the SAP Learning Solution so it is tested.
    Good luck,

  • Dependent Certification - Plan Type

    Hi,
Currently we are setting up the Dependent Certification in the Program Enrollment Requirements -> Dependent Coverage -> Plan Type -> Life Event Change..
I am determining the certification requirement using fast formula (Dependent Certification Required)
If we have 4 plan types and 2 certifications (ssn + birth certificate), the certification requirement records will be created for 4 plan types.
For example two dependent will be having 16 certification records.
I guess this will be a time consuming process to certify each dependent.
Will it cause any problem in the enrollment if we received the certifications for one plan type, no need to create certifications for other plan types by using fast formula or any workaround to avoid this?
Did someone come across this situation?
    Thanks
    Arun

  • Use of User CAL in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

We are using win server 2008 R2 server as domain controller.
Can we know how to use User CAL here in this scenario.

    Hi,
First install the licensing role service applicable to your operating system.
To install the RD Licensing role service
1.On the server on which you want to install the RD Licensing role service, open Server Manager. To open Server Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
2.If the Remote Desktop Services role is not already installed:
In the left pane, right-click Roles, and then click Add Roles.
On the Before You Begin page of the Add Roles Wizard, click Next.
On the Select Server Roles page, select the Remote Desktop Services check box, and then click Next.
On the Remote Desktop Services page, click Next.
On the Select Role Services page, select the Remote Desktop Licensing check box, and then click Next.
If the Remote Desktop Services role is already installed:
In the left pane, expand Roles.
Right-click Remote Desktop Services, and then click Add Role Services.
On the Select Role Services page, select the Remote Desktop Licensing check box, and then click Next.
3.On the Configure Discovery Scope for RD Licensing page, you can specify a discovery scope for the license server. For more information, see Terminal Services License Server Discovery.
4.On the Configure Discovery Scope for RD Licensing page, you can also specify the location where the RD Licensing database will be stored. If you want to specify a database location other than the default location provided, click Browse.
Note that the database location must be a local folder on the computer on which the RD Licensing role service is being installed.
    5.Click Next.
6.On the Confirm Installation Selections page, verify that the RD Licensing role service will be installed, and then click Install.
7.On the Installation Progress page, installation progress is noted.
8.On the Installation Results page, confirm that installation of the RD Licensing role service succeeded, and then click Close.
To install and issue TS CALs or RDS CALs, you must first
activate the license server. When the license server is activated, Microsoft provides the license server with a limited-use digital certificate that validates server ownership and identity. Microsoft
uses the X.509 industry standard certificate for this purpose. Using this certificate, a license server can make subsequent transactions with Microsoft. To activate your license server, go to
Windows Terminal Services Licensing, a site designed to help you manage your license server and obtain client access license tokens.

  • Where did (Oracle) open office  writer (and other)  certifications go?

The used to be a certification exam 1z0-885 for Open office writer (and calc etc) : ( see eg: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?p_org_id=378219&page_id=433 referenced at time of post).
However these seem to have disappeared without trace!!!
    No retirement ... just vanishment.
While they were probably not popular from once they priced at over double Mr. Gates' offering .... ( as oposed to just under it when they were under Sun's wing).
I understand the apache may have open office gathered under its wing .... but have no absolute reference on this.
Still a retirement or some sort of notice would be appropriate as Oracle had stewardship at one point.
    Rgds - bigdelboy.

Thanx for confirmation and link. I actually finally found something on the apache website about open office here : http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/OpenOfficeProposal
I remember the exams were initially introduced by sun so I guess and not really open source related.
As far as I can tell apache http://directory.apache.org/community%26resources/open-group-certification.html appear to have some connections with certifcation with the open group http://www.opengroup.org/certification/ and I suppose there might be some case for suggestion those exams went under their stewardship.
But as you say the takeup was low, pricing of certiifcation too high (perhaps double microsofts equivalent ... and it needed to be less) and version have moved on and the beast appears to have gone slightly the way of the various unix variants ... the hope is a useful product can continue sensibly.
