Using Calendar Year Month in query designer to populate a Month Structure

Hi
Is it possible to create a query that has a standard structure of Month Columns (Jan-Dec) with each month column populated by the correct 0CALMONTH (similar infoobject) value?  I would also like to be able to filter this by the correct year selected since this will be a filter value.
Thanks for any help on this.

Hi,
I would also like to be able to filter this by the correct year selected since this will be a filter value.
Yes. With the structure it is possible. But user input 0fiscalyear variable should be there to get the correct year data.
Hope it helps

  • Calculate no of execution month in query design

    Hi,
I received requirements to create sales report as users would like to execute the sales report by entering the range of calendar month (eg: from 10.2010 to 12.2010). They would like to have average sales figures to be calculated as total sales / no of month (which is 3) that based on no of month that user had entered.
Can experts please share with me how can I achieve to calculate the no of month in query designer?
    Thanks and regards,
    Kang Ring

    Hi,
Please follow the below steps it will give you desired result.
Make a new formula in that put value 1 and exception aggregation as counter of all detailed values and refernce characterstic as calmonth so it will give you 1 against all the months you entered in the selection screen.Suppose you enter for a range of 3 months so you will get count 111 and in result you will get 3.
Now you want your sales to be divided by the sum of months count.
In order to achieve that create another fornula  and put
SUMGT(formula1) formula 1 is the first formula you created.
After doing this you will get 3 against all your month.
Now create another formula and in that put your sales keyfigure and divide by formula 2.
After performing all the above steps you will get your desired result.
Hide formula 1 and formula 2.
Hope it works and fullfil your requirement.

  • No of days in a month in Query designer

    Hi
I have Calender Year/Month (0CALMONTH) in the row of query,  I need to show no of days in that month, how can I do this in Query designer

    Hi,
If the user requirment is to select a single month for analysis then you could possibly use a formula variable that is populated as a user exit to return the number of days in the month selected and then use this in your calculation.
This formula varible can be hidden from display in the query designer.
hope it gives you an idea.

  • Exclude a hierarchy node by using exit variable (not in query designer)

    Hi gurus!!
I have a hierarchy for the infoObject 0COSTELMNT. Depending on the user who executes the report, the node '0599ADJUSTMENTS' must be displayed or not.
I am trying to solve it by using an exit variable:
    Varible Type: Hierarchy Node
    Processing : Exit
On the exit, I have entered the following code:
          IF ( sy-subrc = 0 ).
              l_s_range-sign = 'E' .
              l_s_range-opt  = 'EQ' .
              l_s_range-low = 'AJUSTES'.
              APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
         ENDIF.
    But unfortunately does no work!!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  • Use of MAX function in Query Designer

    Dear all,
i want to create a report that gives ONE line per period that holds the MAX of several lines per period. So NO addition of the KF but just one line item.
I tried to use the MAX function and/or MAX drop-down boxes via properties on KF,
but they all provide the wrong result (mostly the MAX after summaction of the KF).
    Any ideas ??
    Greetz,
    Herman

    Hi Herman
Please check the KF infoobject property which might have been set to Summation.  You need to change the property of the KF to MAX if you wish to have MAX value.
Hope this might be helpful to you

  • How to create/use SAP Exit variable of Query designer

    Hello experts,
Can you please guide me on how to create/use SAP Exit variables ?
Is there any way we can transport customer exit include in which we write all codes related to customer exit variables?
Kindly provide your valuable inputs on this.
    Thanks,
    Mitesh

    Hello Gautam,
I think you should first implement the user-exit via the transaction SMOD/CMOD and the SAP-Enhancement RSR00001 User-Exit ( BW Reporting )
For the concrete implementation I would suggest to encapsulate the variables, as it is described here
    Easy implementation of BEx-Userexit-Variables
    and here: BEx-Userexits reloaded

  • How to disable Wizard in Ad-hoc Query Designer

    Hi everybody,
I am using the Bex Ad-hoc Query Designer in a web application. The users should be able to define their own queries, but just for one info provider. I selected the info provider in the properties of the ad-hoc query designer in the web template.
Now the users are able to create queries for all info providers with the wizard.
Is it possible to disable the wizard or to disable all buttons at the top of the ad-hoc query designer.
    Thanks in advance,
    Joerg

This can be done using the security for the Infoprovider,  provide the users access to create queries only for that Infoprovider.

  • BEx query design: defining complex filters?

Is it possible to define complex filters in a query definition? By complex I mean using logical operators (AND, OR, NOT)
    Example: report giving sales results
    I want to have
(Customers from Germany <b> AND </b> product type A)
    <b> OR </b>
(Customers from Romania <b> AND </b> product type B)
If I define a standard filter:
    Customer country IN (DE,RO)
    Product type IN (A,B)
I will obtain all combinations while I only want to have the couples {(DE,A),(RO,B)}.
    Thxs.
    LauQ

Hide is just to remove the "object" from the display. It is used as an intermediate filter for the object that includes the logical combinations that one would like to get in the results.
    In my example:
    In the Query Designer:
    1. Define a structure (rows)
    2. right-click on it and make new selections corresponding with
    a) Country=Germany (:='DE')
    b) Country=Romania (:='RO')
    c) Material=A
    d) Material=B
    3. Right-click on each of them and "hide" them
    4. New formula in the structure:
    TEST:=(( 'DE' AND 'A' ) OR ( 'RO' AND 'B' ) )
    5. You need to edit the Cell definition and make use of the Help Cells (select therein the KF you need to display; e.g. "QUANTITY SOLD").
    6. "Play" with Cell definition and define a final KF such as:
    FINAL:='QUANTITY SOLD' * 'HELP'
You need to try by yourself...

  • Reg Structures in Query Designer

    Hi,
Can someone explain the following regarding Structures usage in Query Designer
    1. Limitations of Structures usage
    2. When to use Structures and when not to use them in Query Designer
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Structures in Query designer are reusable across all the queries for particular info provider once you save in the query designer.

  • Keyfigure value by comparing 2 date fields, in the query designer.

    Hi all,
Could any one please intimate, how to display the key figure result with the comparison of 2 date fields.
We are having "Completed Date" say(CDATE) and "Deadline Date"(DDATE) values in the report as time characteristics, dervied from the CRM system.
Now we need to compare the values as:
CDATE <= DDATE, then only consider this under "Meeting Planned Date"(Key Figure).
Could you please intimate, how to display the key figure value, by using the code at  the query designer level.
    Thanks & Regards,
    A.V.N.Rao

    Hi Rao,
Simple create two formula variables with replacement path from these two date fileds, then create a formula then do the comparison
    Eg:
ZVAR_CDATE  WITH REPLACEMENT PATH PROCESSING TYPE REPLACED WITH OBJ CDATE
ZVAR_DDATE  WITH REPLACEMENT PATH PROCESSING TYPE REPLACED WITH OBJ DDATE
CREATE A FORMULA FORMULA1: IN THE FORMULA BUILDER AREA DO THE COMPARISON.

  • IVEIW in Query Designer of BI 7.0

    Hi Experts,
In BW 3.5 i used to develop queries in query designer and used to create iview ....generate URL for that query
Later used to send that URL for the business user to execute the query which is in development system...for any formating changes he need
How can i generate that URL/IVIEW from Query Designey in BI 7.0
    Thanks

I think this is more to do with your windows settings.
Query designer invokes the default browser which is IE. If you set Firefox as ur default browser in your system, the query should open in Firefox.
    However, not sure
