Using ColdFusion validateAt "onServer"

Is there a way to customize the look and feel of the error
page that appears when a CFFORM fails OnServer validation?
By default, it's just an ugly grey box with some terse text
and a link back to the form.
I'd like to be able to at least wrap in within the UI
framework of my site, if not completely customize the message.
I know I could write my own validation routines... but
onServer seems to work perfectly for my use, so I'd hate to have to
reinvent the wheel.
Anybody?

How do I create a kerberos ticket using coldfusion

I have 3 apps on our intra net that require authentication and would like to use kerberos to accomplish this. This is my set up.
users log in to the network and authenticate via active directory (all windows based) , Our web apps are on a box running solaris 10, weblogic app server, cf 9 and oracle 11g. A group of our web apps on this sever require users to authenticate through oracle (not the web / app server).
I can authenticate with kerberos via a putty session on the server with no problems.
USEING COLDFUSION, how do i request a kerberos ticket and pass the necessary credentials to authenticate.?
can this be done.?
I am looking for a CODE SAMPLE OF HOW DO THIS IN A UNIX environment NOT WINDOWS.

This is something your web server should do, not CF. Configure your web server to participate in the Kerberos realm. If WebLogic is the web server (and not just the application server) configure that:

I want to print my reports Horizontally rather vertically using Coldfusion Report Builder. I am using a very simple query

Where ever I am calling the CF functions, there I am getting the whitespaces. like below cases.

JDBC Connection Using ColdFusion DataSource

We are using ColdFusion MX 6 and oracle 10g.
I am trying to code a JAVA JDBC database connection class by
simplely pass ColdFusion datasouce name.
i.e, instead of passing URL, user id and password, I hope my
JAVA class can recognize ColdFusion datasource.
Is this possible without a J2EE environment?
If you have done this, please advice.

DataSource is an interface which allows vendors and developers to implement their means of managing Connection objects (to add features like connection pooling, etc). You can find out about DataSource in API documentation: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/sql/DataSource.html
DriverManager on the other hand is a class which registers Drivers and uses them to produce Connection objects:

Im using IntelliJ IDEA with a flex project and for some reason its stopping comilation with this error:
[SUITE (Flex Application 1)] flex.messaging.config.ConfigurationException: The services configuration includes a channel-definition 'java-polling-amf' that has an endpoint with a context.root token but a context root has not been defined. Please specify a context-root compiler argument.
when I was using flex builder with CF builder I never needed to specify the context.root

I don't use IDEA, so I don't know what kind of configuration settings it has for Flex project development.
You don't need the java-polling-amf channel for CF development. By default, CF development uses CF-specific channels:
my-cfamf
cf-polling-amf
my-cfamf-secure
any custom channels you've created yourself for CF to use
That said, all the channels require a context root setting for your project to compile properly. If you still have Flash Builder handy, take a look at your compiler switches for a project there to see what you're missing in IDEA.

Building a best practice web application using ColdFusion and Jave EE

I've been tasked with rewriting a software using ColdFusion. I cannot seem to find a lot of information on best practice development in ColdFusion. I am an experience Java developer who has never used ColdFusion before. I want to build this application using a synergy of ColdFusion and Java EE technologies. Can someone recommend me a book that outlines how to developer in ColdFusion? Ideally this book assumes the reader is an experienced developer with no exposure to ColdFusion. Ideally the methods outlined in the book are still "best practice" methods.

CDATA in RSS using Coldfusion

I ma using Coldfusion 4.5 (yes I know it's old but it's what
I have to work with) to generate a dynmaic RSS feed. The problem I
have encounterd is that some of the fields (overview) inside the DB
have HTML in them, and even with the CDATA tags in place within the
Item/Description tags, it is blowing up. Is there any way to get it
to appear correctly?

Hello community. I have created a site for my son's
kindergarten for free because I wanted to say thanks, since my son
was very happy.
The site has been created using coldfusion because I gave
them some control on news, new children, waiting list, etc.
They just asked me they want to be able to modify all the
content of the site, so I started working on a CMS for it.
There are two section on the site, video gallery and photo
gallery that are flash - XML based galleries.
I know that if I explain to them how to modify the XML files
in order to change photos and videos, they'll screw the gallery.
Is there any way I can access the content of my XML file from
coldfusion and allow modification, like adding new photos to the
existing ones, or modifying the caption on the existing ones?
So basically I need to them to be able to click on "Modify
photo gallery", then see all the childs (photos) and be able to
modify/add.

If you are using ColdFusion 7/8 this should be quite easy.
You'd basically:
1) Read the XML file into ColdFusion memory
2) Loop through the nodes you need etc outputting them to a
page or dynamically built form fields
3) Allow the user to edit these fields then on submit have
ColdFusion tale the variable holding the form data and write it to
an XML file again via a loop, overwriting the previous file.
Clearly you'll need to be careful on validating the input but
it should be pretty straightforward.
I didn't have time to write any code but look at the
following functions and tags to find out more:
