Using "comment" as xml tag in XSLT

Comment is apparently reserved word in XSLT.
Is there a way to put in a tag set in the destination xml document using XSL, something like this:
<comment><FreeFormText>This is a test</FreeFormText></comment>.
When I try to do this
all I get in the destination doc is:
<comment></comment>
Any help wowuld be appreciated.

Wow!!!
The output="html" actually worked on XML Spy!
Removing the XSLT file initial tag didn't work.
I had already resolved this problem using the replace-string method that I found here: http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Cookbook/XSLT/Recipe/65426
But your method is way more elegant and efficient. :o)
I'll test the html method on XI, but I'm almost sure it'll work too.

  • Removing specific XML tag in XSLT mapping

    Hi there,
    I've asked before about a XML to string XSLT mapping and the answers provided here helped me to successfully do that mapping! Thanks a lot!
    I'm using the following mapping to convert a string back to XML.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:m="http://my.namespace.com">
         <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="no"/>
         <xsl:template match="/">
              <xsl:for-each select="//m:my_tag">
                   <xsl:value-of select="." disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
              </xsl:for-each>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    But now, I'm having a problem converting back from string to XML. The response tag "m:mytag" has a string like this:
    "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><tag1><tag2>Data</tag2></tag1>".
    And  when I use the XSLT mapping shown above, the output file comes like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <tag1>
    <tag2>Data</tag2>
    </tag1>
    As you can see, the initial <?xml ...> tag is duplicated, and it generates a parsing error in XI.
    How can I eliminate one of the "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>" strings in the mapping?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Getting unwanted values between the XML tags in XSLT mapping

    Hi Folks
    I have come across a very strange situation with my xslt mapping.
    I am getting unwated values "11" between xml tags
    as follows
    <Tag>0001</Tag>
    11
    <DataID>3</DataID>
    I am not sure why I am getting these values in between the tags. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi David,
    Here is the code fragment where these 2 tags are mapped, FYI, the source is an IDOC message. The unwanted "11" is coming After the <Tag></Tag> and <DataID></DataID>. FYI, Fof the element <Tag></Tag> its a default value. But for <DataID> </DataID>  I have the mapping logic.

  • Embedding inline HTML data in XML using the mx:XML tag with &lt; and &gt;

    What is best practice for embedding HTML within the
    <mx:XML> tag? Programmatically, I can implement this
    successfully:
    [Bindable]
    public var xmlDP:XML = <component data="&lt;" />;
    However, I get the following error if I try to store the same
    data inline in an mx:XML tag, as such:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="&lt;" />
    </mx:XML>
    Error #1095: XML parser failure: Unterminated attribute.
    If I change the MXML tag as follows, it works fine:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="&amp;lt;" />
    </mx:XML>
    Unfortunately, I also can not source the mx:XML tag to an XML
    file which uses &lt; or &gt; codes, as it yields the same
    results. This leads me to believe that the <mx:XML> tag does
    not support the special character codes for < and >, but why?
    Incidentally, this code also gives a 1095 error:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="&#0060;" />
    </mx:XML>
    This is causing an issue with my source data as it is not
    hand typed into Flex, and standard XML supports the &lt; and
    &gt; codes. I have tried a full HTML string, as shown below,
    but this also generates the error:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="&lt;b&gt;Test&lt;/b&gt;"
    />
    </mx:XML>
    Many thanks for any input you may have!

    I’m generating the XML source file with
    Microsoft’s XML Notepad 2007. It will encode invalid special
    characters automatically. My understanding is that this is the
    proper way to handle the less than symbol in a XML string, that is
    to say using the &lt; code.
    With respect to the escape and un-escape methods, I am able
    to successfully implement these in AS, but not in MXML. This makes
    sense considering they are AS methods, but I was hoping to be able
    to do something like:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="escape('<');" />
    </mx:XML>
    This gives the following compilation error:
    The value of attribute "data" must not contain the '<'
    character.
    As does using the escape character as such:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="\<" />
    </mx:XML>
    Below is an example of what the escape character may be used
    for in AS:
    var myString:String = "\"";
    trace(myString);
    // result: "
    Likewise, I can escape the < character as such:
    var myString:String = escape("<");
    trace(myString);
    // result: %3C
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="%3C" />
    </mx:XML>
    trace(un-escape(xmlDP.@data));
    // result: <
    As you can see, using %3C and unescaping in AS will yield the
    correct result; however, this is not a practical method of
    representing the data in MXML as I would have to write an AS method
    to un-escape the XML string anyway, so I might as well just store
    the data in AS to begin with. I was hoping for a way to source an
    mx:XML object, without having to load it into ActionScript
    manually. Here’s an example of the functionality I would
    expect:
    <mx:XML id="xmlDP">
    <component data="&gt;" />
    </mx:XML>
    trace(xmlDP.@data);
    // result: >
    Only this does not work for the less than symbol. I’m
    assuming at this point that this is a bug in the Flex compiler.
    Thanks again for your help troubleshooting this one!

  • Can't use HTML in XML tags anymore?

    I've noticed with 1.1 that HTML that worked in an XML tag in
    1.0 no longer displays. Spry seems to be taking what is in the tags
    as a literal string. For the most part, I've been able to work
    around this, however, I'm running into some issues now where there
    are tags that are empty because a certain product just has nothing
    to go in that tag. When that happens, it is being displayed on the
    page as:
    <td></td> and the style I'm calling on all
    <td>'s (a bottom border) doesn't show since there is nothing
    in the tag at all. I tried just putting a space, but white space
    (when there is nothing but whitespace) is ignored and putting
      results in the XML not loading correctly. &amp;nbsp;
    results in " " showing up in that <td> whereas in
    1.0, it would've been a non-breaking space.
    I guess what I'm asking is if there is a way to still get
    HTML to display correctly or if there is some sort of workaround
    for cells that end up being blank?

    I completed deleted the old way, so I have to recreate this
    from scratch...but here is how I used to be able to do it (which,
    looking at how I do it now since HTML wasn't parsing, this was so
    stupid).
    <chair id="1" price_point="High-end">
    <image>&lt;a
    href='/dsn/catalog/viewproductpage.asp?OwnerID=1&amp;PageID=%7B7A0FB858%2D2184%2D4033%2DB 474%2D2B22D89BBD96%7D'&gt;&lt;img

    <description>&lt;a
    href='/dsn/catalog/viewproductpage.asp?OwnerID=1&amp;PageID=%7B7A0FB858%2D2184%2D4033%2DB 474%2D2B22D89BBD96%7D'&gt;Toni&lt;/a&gt;</description>

    <composition>Kwalu</composition>
    <leg_style>Chippendale</leg_style>
    <overall_style>Transitional</overall_style>
    </chair>
    And now in 1.1, having that, it prints this on screen:
    <a
    href='/dsn/catalog/viewproductpage.asp?OwnerID=1&PageID=%7B7A0FB858%2D2184%2D4033%2DB474% 2D2B22D89BBD96%7D'><img
    src='/images/s/dshe/mini/7/79219.jpg border='0' /></a>
    whereas before, it would be that image and it would link to
    the page specified in the href.
    I'm about to take off from work for the night, but I'll check
    back when I get home if you need anything else from me.
    Thanks for your help, Kin. :)

  • How to comment the xml tags using java

    Iam using a xml file i want to comment some of the tags in that file

    And your quesion is? Did you parse it into a Document and do you want to write a changed version into another file?

  • Combing jstl/xml tags with jsf - can't pass parameter

    I'm using the jstl/xml tags to parse portions of an xml document. For some value of an attribute I want to render a search link, many of these links may be rendered on a page and I need to track which one has actually been selected using the id of the generating xml element.
    This is what I've tried, both using h:commandLink and a f:param and t:commandLink (tomahawk) and a t:updateActionListener.
    It doesn't seem to be possible to expose the resolved value of the xpath ="@id" in any way that either the tomahawk or core jsf tags can see.
    <x:when select="$control[@type='SEARCH']">
    <input type="text" id='<x:out select="@id"/>' disabled="true">
    <x:set var="selectedId" select="@id"/>
    <h:commandLink action="#{pack.search}" value="#{msg['actionPack.label.search']}" styleClass="linkNoUnderline">
    <f:param value="${selectedID}" name="selectedID"/>
    </h:commandLink>
    <%--<t:commandLink action="#{pack.search}" value="#{msg['actionPack.label.search']}" styleClass="linkNoUnderline">
    <t:updateActionListener property="#{pack.searchingId}" value="${searchId}"/>
    </t:commandLink>--%>
    </x:when>

    The JSF and JSTL tags don't really play well together.
    Particularly conditional and looping tags.
    My suggestion would be - if you're using JSF, don't use JSTL.
    You are right in that the JSF tags don't bother with the xpath expression.
    Would it be possible to shift the xml logic into an action/bean somewhere, and just present the jsp page with a list of relevant objects?
    If I understand you are trying to determine which link was clicked on a page? In the JSF action "pack.search"?
    What method of iterating are you using? an x:forEachLoop? A datatable?

  • How to find the existence of a tag in  XML file through  XSLT Mapping?

    Hello Friends,
    Working on an SAP XI interface ,I have come across a situation where I need to map the values only when a particular tag exists in the inbound XML file.I need to use the XSLT mapping for the same.
    Requesting your advice on as to how may I validate the existence of a tag through XSLT mapping?
    Thanks.

    Hello Friends
    After research , I could also find another way to check the existence of a node .We can even use CHOOSE to check the existence.
    <xsl:choose>
          <xsl:when test="(/mynode)">
              your action if the mynode is found
          </xsl:when>
          <xsl:otherwise>
                    action if mynode is not found
          </xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose>

  • Remove Empty XML Tags using module parameters

    Hi All,
    In my lanscape I have two PI Systems.
    My scenario is an IDOC reaches 1st PI system gets converted into an EDIFACT and then goes to the 2nd PI and from there it gets routed to the respective AS2 Party.
    I am using SOAP to pass message between the PI systems and B2B Toolkit's AS2 Adapter for the communication with AS2 party.
    The issue is when the message is getting converted from IDOC to EDIFACT there are a few feilds with occurence 1..1 and due to these fields i get an empty XML tag at the output. These empty XML tags give me an error in the B2B Toolkit's AS2 Adapter Receiver Channel
    I cannot change the occurence in the structure of the EDIFACT nor can I use an XSLT mapping to remove empty tags before the message reaches the Communication Channel.
    I want to know if there are any module parameters which i can use either in SOAP Channel or the AS2 Channel to remove the XML Tags.

    Hi Muni,
    "1..1 means, you must send some values for that fields. try to find out why these are not getting any values."
    This empty tag is expected. Before using B2B Toolkit's AS2 Adapter we used to use Seeburger's AS2 Adpater and the message used to get executed successfully with these empty tags.The issue is coming only when we are using B2B Toolkit's AS2 Adapter.
    "if you want to stop sending(the fields which are not needed in target) you can you can disable the fields in the message mapping."
    I cannot disable the feild in the mapping as some other message may use this field.
    Thanks,
    Farhaan

  • XSLT and generated text using InDesign with xml

    I have recently switched from Framemaker to InDesign and am still getting to grips with the differences so apologies if this is a very basic query.
    Framemaker was used to format sgml tagged text. You could specify that a particular tag generated a prefix or suffix. You could also specify that the tag should generate the prefix or suffix only under certain circumstances (context rules). The prefixes and suffixes I need to apply are things like open and closing brackets, commas, full stops, and sometimes a bit of text.
    I am told that this can be done with XSLT. There are whole libraries of books on XSLT out there and not knowing anything about the subject I really don't know where to start. Does anyone out there who uses InDesign with xml and XSLT have any tips about where to find useful information on the subject?
    Thanks in advance for any help on the subject.
    Steven

    Yeah, we use to have such feature wayback then. Indesign package into GoLive.  Kindly look through the idea section and vote massively for this idea.

    Hi,
    if you want to transform something to something else, you should declare, what is your source.
    I would prefer to use plain XSL-Transformations, because you have a lot more options to transform your source and you can even better determine, how your output should looks like.
    Kind regards,

  • Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC) - Web Service using ABAP Proxy

    Hi there
    I am trying to consume a Web Service using ABAP Proxies.  I have done the following in the system:
    I configured the HTTP and HTTPS Proxy settings.
    I created a package with package interfaces SAI_TOOLS and SAPPINT included under the Use Access tab.
    I created the proxy classes by using the WSDL provided by the system I'm trying to interface with.
    I created my HTTP destination RFC via SM59.
    I configured a logical port for the proxy.
    I developed the ABAP code for calling the proxy.
    In the code the exception CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT gets raised with error message <b>"Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b> when I call the method for passing data to the destination system in the proxy class.
    I had a look at SM21 and the following message was written in the log:
    <b>"SOAP Runtime: SOAP Runtime exception: 111 occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at position 1
    SOAP Runtime: Exception message: Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b>.  I also looked at SAP Note 919886 which states that it can be dumps in the system, missing configuration or the path prefix of the RFC destination that is incorrect.  I cannot find any ST22 entries.  The trace file looks as follows:

  • Rename an XML tag using javascript

    Dear adobe experts,
    I have a requirement to rename XML tags, in the interface for an adobe form, using javascript.
    the XML looks like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>1</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
    </ELEMENT>
    and the result should look something like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <CHAIR>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </CHAIR>
         <TABLE>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </TABLE>
    </ELEMENT>
    Is this possible and how can I do this? I was hoping that something like renameNode() (for instance) is also possible in the javascript set for adobe forms.
    If it's not possible I'm going to have to create new nodes, put the data from the existing node in the new node and remove the original node. This will be a lot more work and just renaming is easier :-).
    Kind regards,
    Niels

    Hi,
           Thanks a lot Jeff...
            I'm doing a huge program with lot of tasks. While doing that,my mind didn't strike to check if the tag is not already exist, then only to create new tag...  Thanks for all of the indesigner experts for their replies...
    I used the following codes with ur idea.
                        var renamewith = textbox1.text;
                        try
                            alert(app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith).name);
                            if(app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith).name)
                               var testTag = app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith);
                        catch(e)
                            var testTag = app.activeDocument.xmlTags.add({name: renamewith});
    With Regards,
    Vel.

  • Spec oversight? Using dynamic-attributes in XML tag files

    I have a couple of tagfiles that generate form elements with specific conventions for the 'name' and 'value' attribute. Basically, a data binding framework.
    Dynamic attributes are useful because you can delegate all the usual html attributes to the generated HTML form element: SELECT, INPUT, id, class etc.
    The usual way to do this is to concatenate all the "pass-through" attributes to a string, and append this string to the element generated:
    <input type="hidden" name="foo" ${dynattrs}/>I'm wondering how to do this in a tagfile in XML format (mytag.tagx), since the XML format forbids syntax like in the example above.
    jsp:attribute won't help much, if it's nested inside a c:forEach: it won't apply to the right element.

    Ran into the same problem with 'optional attributes'. (see post "JSP 2.0 Tag files outputting elements with conditional attributes" http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=45&threadID=681033)
    Found a solution that is not very elegant but does work and saves you the trouble of reverting to Java Tags. Consider the following tag-file that outputs an html input-tag with conditional attributes:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="1.2"
         xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="name" required="true" type="java.lang.String"/>
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="id" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="value" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="disabled" required="false" type="java.lang.Boolean"/>
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="hint" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
         <jsp:directive.attribute name="cssClass" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
         <jsp:text><![CDATA[<input type="text" name="]]><c:out value="${name}"/><![CDATA["]]></jsp:text>
         <c:if test="${!empty id}"><![CDATA[ id="]]><c:out value="${id}"/><![CDATA["]]></c:if>
         <c:if test="${!empty cssClass}"><![CDATA[ class="]]><c:out value="${disabled?(cssClass + '-disabled'):cssClass}"/><![CDATA["]]></c:if>
         <c:if test="${disabled}"><![CDATA[ disabled="disabled"]]></c:if>
         <c:choose>
              <c:when test="${!empty value}"><![CDATA[ value="]]><c:out value="${value}"/><![CDATA["]]></c:when>
              <c:when test="${!empty hint}"><![CDATA[ value="]]><c:out value="${hint}"/><![CDATA[" onfocus="if(this.value==']]><c:out value="${hint}"/><![CDATA[')this.value='';"]]></c:when>
         </c:choose>
         <jsp:text><![CDATA[/>]]></jsp:text>
    </jsp:root>In answer to your question: Yes, it looks like an oversight. Using the jsp:attribute tag in a c:forEach doesn't work because the attribute is then applied to the forEach tag. You would have to put the attribute-tag inside a jsp:body tag (inside the forEach). Then it would apply not to the forEach tag but to the tag enclosing the forEach. However, this doesn't work either, or at least it doesn't work in Tomcat 5.5. Could be a bug though, JSP 2.0 is still very buggy (for instance, using a tagfile inside another tagfile from the same taglib doesn't seem to work either...)
    Anyway, if you ever find a good solution please let me know by posting to this topic!
    TIA
