Using Component scrap differently in MRP and in production/process orders

Hello Gurus,
We use Component scrap in our BOMs.
MRP calculates the requirements including the scrap and that is fine. Is there a way that when we create production/process orders the components' required quantity will not include the scrap automatically? We don't want the components to be issued with the additional scrap, but rather issue the scrap by request only if required.
Thanks

Not possible.
The SAP logic is tht procurement of RM and Production & consumption has to be in line. Functionally tht is ideal

  • ATP Check include in MRP and Exclude on Process order

    Dear all,
We have a situation if we include reservations, deliveries and dependent requirements in ATP check in OPJJ, the system behaviour is that it includes all of them during MRP run. On process order level if we perform ATP check the system shows that all materials are available as it includes the dependent requirements and deliveries as well. we want to exclude dependent requirements and deliveries from ATP check on process order level so that it can only consider the quantities that are available in stock. and system will block the release of process order in case of short fall. as system includes dependent requirements and deliveries as well it always shows the msg that all material are available. Plz help and reply soon...... any suggestions or work arounds are always well come ..............

    Hi
as i understand from ur question u dont want to considered dependent requrement and delivaries for
this go to t code OPJJ and do not select dependent requrement and delivaries tick.
after that go to t code OPJK and select material avalability as -03-No creation if material is missing
    hope this will help u

  • Loss qty related Bill of material move to scrap location automaticaly at the time of process order confirmation

    Hi experts,
I need one  clarification, i am raise one process order in COR1 - Qty 1000 kg, reservation completed against the process order bill of material main storage location ( 0001 & 0002 ) To Production storage location ( 0004 ) through MB21 with mvnt.type 311, store person also moved the bill of material main storage location ( 0001 & 0002 ) To Production storage location ( 0004 ) through MB1B.
Issue is at the time of confirmation i am enter the OK qty or packed qty in yield column - 950 kg , remaining 50 kg is enter in loss column.> Go to confirmation bill of material qty calculated at only for related in yield qty. Remaining loss qty related bill of material not consumed it is available in production storage location ( 0004 ),then one by one raw material and packing material qty moved to scrap location through MB1A - 541 Mvnt type.
If any other way for easy reservation and goods issue against the process order main storage location to production storage location.
I need at the time of confirmation enter yield qty related BOM qty consumed in 261 consumption, remaining loss qty related BOM qty taken scrap mvt.type  541 in automatically if it is possible for any customization at the time of loss qty enter related bill of material qty also posted in scrap  ?
Kindly help me for the issue !
    Thanks & Regards,
    N.Umapathy

    Hi
In Standard practice the scrap generated during the production process should be maintaid as negative qty and with differnent material codes which acts as BY Product.
In your case when you maintain the scrap percentage for BOM components , it will copied to the production order with adtditional qty and it will be consumed when you do confirmation and Goods moevement and at the same time the Scrap material is generated/received  with movement type 531( not 541) as by product received out of production.
You can maintain the same BOM component as By product in BOM system will generate the stock to a different SLoc but the cost will be wrong.

  • Component materials incorrectly assigned to superior operation in process order

One of my manufacturing facilities is having a problem with components not printing on process order output.
In all cases, the master recipes themselves look fine when reviewed in C203.  The components are properly allocated to phases (not superior operations).  But when the process orders are generated, certain components are being assigned in the process orders themselves to the first superior operation, instead of to the phase that is indicated in the master recipe.  Here is an example.
Here is the master recipe operation information as seen in C203:
And here is the material assignment list as seen in C203.  Note that component material MM6030 is assigned to Phase 0035:
But when the process order is created, that same component material MM6030 is now assigned to superior operation 0001:
Here is some additional information that I was able to eke out of the folks at the manufacturing facility:
The operations in the master recipe did NOT originally contain operation 0001.  It was added to the recipe in C202 after the recipe was initially saved.
Component Material MM6030 was not originally part of the BOM.  It was added via C202 after the recipe was initially saved.  A different material was originally in its place, and was assigned to a different phase.  After the MM6030 was added to the BOM, the assignment field was blank, and the user assigned it to phase 0035.
Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue?  If so, how was it resolved?

    Hi ,
Possibility  , in C202 , user may have changes the BOM first and re-assign the phase  but in process order level Read PP master did not call
Another possibility manually change the process order component and assign this in Phase in COR2 .Please check  whether it has been added manually in order level .

    Parshuram,
You can use standard transaction MB51 for this purpose, which would give you all the material movements for an Order/orders.
If you still need to develop a report then you need to use MSEG table to extract the data. Order details can be from AUFK/AFKO/ AFPO , planned GI quantities from RESB table

  • Understanding Target Cost Version Differences for 0 and 1 for process order

Our client need to understand the differences between our target cost versions that are utilized in calculating the process order CO03 cost analysis.  When should each target version be used and why do the variances change?  See example below.
Target Version = 1       Target Cost Prelim Order Cost Estimate
Version = 0          Target Cost for Prod Variances
Can you please provide analysis and help me on this.

  • Planned qty. and value for process order (components wise)

    Hi Experts,
I need to capture the planned qty. (requirement qty.) and planned value of the components of a process order for some profit report. Please suggest me from which table i can get these values. (In RESB only req. qty. is there.)

  • Min/max MRP and double star planned order

    Hi,
What does setting up materials for min/max mean ? Is it just some concept r does it involve some specific settings in the material master ? I know there are minimum and maximum lot sizing procedures available. Are these to be taken into account to set materials up for min/max ?
What does a planned order with two stars in the MD04 screen mean?
    Thanks

    Dear,
Single *** means order is Firmed and **** means Capacity planning has been done for the  planned order.
There is "storage location" MRP with min max levels.
Have a look at the fields on the MRP screens in the material master and you will see the settings you can choose from.
There should be no need for any config as long as your basic MRP config is there.
The normal MRP run will then try to maintain the correct stock level in that storage location and you use the special procurement keys on the material master to determine where the stock should come from to replenish that storage location.
Go to TcodeOMIA  here you will find min max for your plant.

  • Cross-component: Call method of using component from within used component?

    Hi,
I began diving into cross-component programming.
Meanwhile after having digged into some scenarios some questions came up to my mind that I am not able to answer myself. I would appreciate your help here!
Say we have to components.  Comp A uses Comp B (hence, B is a component usage in A)
    1) How to make them communicate not on a data level (via context binding) but on a process level, thus...
    a) can I call A's method from within B? How is the approach on a general level? - as B can be used from totally different components (like A, A1, A2 ...)
    b) perhaps the only way to do this is by firing events? If so, how can I react in A when an event in B (marked as interface event) gets fired? As it seems they do not get registered within A directly...
I guess the question seems to be a bit tricky. Nevertheless, I think there will be plenty of you out there who used to asked them the same questions before and came up with an approach. Would be nice to hear from you.
    Best wishes,
    Marc @sap1

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply!
Indeed, I think the nature of WDA would be just to somehow map the context from the used component to the other back and forth.
Nevertheless, what if I would like to invoke a method of the using component from inside the used component.
One sample for this requirement could be e.g.:
Component B offers a tree item and a send/verify button.
Component A uses B and has some restraints regarding what the selection should look like.
The user taps the button in B (at runtime in the view container of A), the context gets updated in A and B and in Component A the verifyWithOwnConstraints() method gets called (through B).
    Thanks again,
    Marc

  • Component scrap factors in Planning

I am using component scrap factors for planning example being lets say finished material = M1 and component is C1. For every 1 M1 I need 1C1 but with a +ve yield of 10% which means for planning 100 M1 I need only 90 C1. I do not want to put in the BOM that 1 M1 REQUIRES 0.9 C1. I want to use some kind of component scrap to do the yielding. I am not able to use a -ve component scrap factor in SAP.
Can anybody tell me what the best solution to this problem would be?
    thanks

    Dear,
You are talking about the RM and not Finished product. There is nothing called yield for RM.
Yield in the case of FP is you suppose to produce 100 TO, and you are expecting a scrap of 10%, hence your actual yield is 90. If you produce more than that it is + Ve yield, if you produce less that it is -ve yield.
With resocet to RM, you planned to consume 100 TO, but your expecting a scrap of 10%, hence you require to plan 110. In case if you comsume 90, you can get the report in CCOIS, requirement qty and withdrawl qty. This will reflect in costing as less costed to produce 100 TO of FP
I hope you are clear,,please come back.

  • Accessing method of used compoent from a using component

    hi
i have a USED component which implements a interface and its method display_flights.
now i want to call this method from USING component. i have written the below coode
lr_interfacecontroller TYPE REF TO ZIWCI_COMP_1.  " zcomp_1 is used component
    lr_interfacecontroller = wd_this->wd_cpifc_details_comp( ). " details_comp is component usage
    LR_INTERFACECONTROLLER->display_details(
    is_flight = ls_flights ).
now problem is LR_INTERFACECONTROLLER doesnot have a method called display_details but only method wd_get_api
how do i call method display_details from wd_get_api.

lr_interfacecontroller TYPE REF TO ZIWCI_COMP_1. " zcomp_1 is used component
your lr_interfacecontroller  actually does not have this method and hence in the compile time you would get this error.
What you can do is change the type ref to to your interface type.
lr_interfacecontroller TYPE REF TO <replace with your interface like if_wd_my inteface>
    This would solve your problem.

  • Open PIR quantity, unconverted Pld orders and open Prod/ STO orders

    Dear all,
How to deal with open PIR quantity, unconverted planned orders and open production/ STO orders in the next MRP run? Do we need to delete/ reduce them manually?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi Shiva,
Thanks for your immediate response. I have still some confusion.
Last month, I have material A with Production order quantity of 30000.
'A' has a component 'B' which is an in-house produced material. Three planned orders each of 10000 were generated for B. Of these two planned orders were converted to production orders. One is still in planned order form.
This month I am not going to use this planned order of B. I get new requirement for A. So during MRP run I get the planned orders for B also.
For the last month requirement, as I have not converted one planned order of B to prod order, there will an open quantity of A prod order in this plant and open STO quantity in another plant. Again the PIR will also be not reduced to the same extent. If I reduce the PIR manually or through some reorganization, what about the open quantity of prod order and STO
I think I can TECO the prod order of A. Is there any such thing for STO also?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

  • Component qty.in process order

    Hi,
while creating process order, my requirement is that there shouldn't be manual change in its component quantity. System should not allow changes in any of the material quantity while creating a process order of a product.
    How to do this ?
    Regards,

    Hi,
As per std. SAP there is no restriction over manual changes in Production / Process Orders.
But for such kind of customer specific requirments SAP has provide a different User Exits. Which you can use as per your requirment. You just have to write your own logic with help of abaper.
You can use below User Exit.
PPCO0008 to check components that have been changed or added
Below are the SAP documentation about this Exit
The enhancement serves to check components that have been added to an
order or changed (for example, against a standard material database).
This check can reject the transfer of components to the order in some
circumstances or replace the material number with another.
The enhancement is given the material number, the plant and the storage
location of the component entered by the user (or of the components the
user has changed). Also, the order header data is copied to the
structure I_ORDER so that the check can also include order-related
values. However, changes to values in this structure are not copied!
The check should copy back the material numbers to be processed (as well
as the corresponding plant and storage location) in the structure
E_MATERIAL. If the data was changed then the structure E_MATERIAL is
      always filled completely!
For the material returned (if E_MATERIAL is filled) the checks specified
in the program standard are run. It can happen that the enhancement is
called up for the replaced material number!
If the component is not to be copied at all then the check must trigger
the exception MATERIAL_REJECTED which then leads to the adding or
      changing being cancelled.
Partly for this reason but also for example for the case of one material
number being exchanged with another there is the structure E_MESSAGE in
which a message can be copied back to the calling program. The following
belong to the message: the application, the message number, the level of
gravity (information, error, warning,...) as wellas four variable texts
that replace the corresponding place holders in the message. If this
structure is filled then the calling program makes sure that this
message is displayed. In the application CO the message 877 was already
created - it can be used to tell the user that a material number has
      been exchanged.

    Dhaval
