Using flex for thik client application

My application is an C++ thik client application. It uses
some king of lib (called zaf) for the UI.
Can Flex be used for handling the UI of desktop application
?

You could use AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime), in which most
of the app is created in Flex, and some in AIR extensions, but
there would be limitations. You can't execute native applications
from AIR applications, so you can't execute Perl scripts, Java
apps, etc. from your AIR app. You can of course use FDS (Flex Data
Services) to connect to POJO, EJB, JavaBeans, SOAP and other web
services, etc.

Using Flex components in Java application

Hello,
I was learning Flex previously, and I thought I remembered reading somewhere that I can use Flex UI components in a Java application. For instance, I could use Flex for the UI, and Java for the backend. I can't find though the documentation for this. I read this last summer. I don't mean using Flex as a UI in a browser and Java on the server, but a Java application that runs on the client with a Flex UI. I thought what I needed was the flex compiler api, but I looked at the flex compiler api documentation and it isn't what I want.
Does anyone know what this "part" of Flex is that I am talking about, but can't remember?

No, thanks, but that wasn't what I was thinking of.
What I remember looking at was some library that allowed wrapping Flex UI componnts in Java Swing components. Then the Swing components could be used in the Java app. One main objective of my wrapping Flex in Java is to use flash.media.Video class to play flash video.

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

Should I use flex for my website

Hey, I am having trouble figuring out if I should be using
flex for a site similar to the BBC site:

started the site in flex but I am running into a lot of problems.
It could be that I am a newbie to Flex, but wanted to make sure if
I should still be going a head with this in Flex. Any advice would
be appreciated.

I would say that if you don't know the answer to that
question, then the
answer is probably no. You need to have a pretty firm
understanding of how
sites like that work under the hood before trying to build
one in Flex.

Using CSS for Web dynpro application in EP

Hi,
I have some CSS (Style sheets) which I need to apply to the portal, so that all the web dynpro applications can have the same look and feel.
I read something about Theme Editor in EP. Can I somehow use that to import the CSS contents into the EP theme?
Any pointer to using CSS for Web Dynpro applications will be appreciated.

We're asked to 'Sign in to iTunes Connect' using the Apple ID a continues to be rejected - the message that comes up is: YouApple Id or password was entered incorrectly. We've been thought the process (via the link Forgot?) of resetting the password, but still no luck. Help please.

To clear up (what I saw as) a bit of confusion, if you're simply using the font to create the logo and sending it to your client in a non-editable format, they do not need to purchase the font.
Only if they plan to use the same font on future materials - or if you send them a live text version of the logo - do they need to make the purchase.

Using flex for air 2.0

Hi,
I don't know if anybody will be able to help. I use a company to create software for me. They have been using Flex to create a menu system that runs in the Air application. The software was running fine when using Air 1.5. However, since the update to 2.0 there are now issues with the software.
Are the coding practices of the company I am using wrong? Should they be designing with Air 2.0 in mind?
Obviously i understand that this isn't an issue with Adobe. But I am concerned that this company will not tell me the whole truth and if this would be better solved using legal advice?

Sorry your running into problems with Voddler. There aren't any known issues with AIR on Danish XP systems. Have you tried contacting Voddler to see what they have to say?

How to use $FLEX$ for DFF segment

We have below requirement for “Add'l Salary Admin. Details” DFF.
we have three segments:
Current Additional Amount -first segment
Additional Allowance Change % - second segment
New Additional Allowance - third segment
e.g.
Now first segment has fixed value, Assume it is 2000 AED
And in second segment if value is 3
Then third segment should show the value: 2000 + 2000 * 3/100
Third segment is dependent on segment1 and segment2.
I think, we can achieve this by using $FLEX$
But I need your guide line, how can we do that?

Keeping the default SQL statement on its place, use table based value set for segment3 which contains all values from 0 to let say 1,000,000 (such that your calculated values falls in the range).
Try it. It segment3 will now calculate on the basis of values of segment1 & 2.

I am developing a client applications that accesses some session beans from
WLS 6.1 SP1.
I am currently putting the weblogic.jar file in the classpath in order to
be able to access the WLS JNDI server using T3/T3S.
This weblogic.jar file is very large (about 25MB) and includes many things

Is there a way to make a client applications that accesses EJBs in a
weblogic server without using that large file?

Using ClassLoader for custumize an application

Customize an application that has thousands of classes may be an hard adventure
in java.
If we need to cistomize a class (e.g. Account) used by several classes of the application,
the operation seems to be easy with an OO language: we have simply to inherit the class
Account into a new class Account2 and with delegation and so on we have reached the
target.
But all other classes of application refers to Account class (the base class) and not to
Account2 (the inherit class)
So we have to inherit all classes that instantiates Account and all classes that instantiate
those classes and so on: a real nuclear explosion!!
Is needed to inherit a good part of my application.
Obviusly modifing all vase sources may be a solution, but is needed to ship all sources
to customers and is not so a good idea.
I have already tried several ways, such defining my own classloader and so on but I have
no found a real solution.
Does someone has an idea?

Should/Can I Use InCopy for My Clients?

Hello, I'm designing four newsletter templates for my client. I'd like them to be able to edit the text of the newsletter without touching the layout and design that I created in InDesign. This way I can provide them with the files one time and they can make the changes to the content themselves every month and send off to the printer. Is this what InCopy does? I'm confused with what I read there. I see that one of the main features is sametime editing and collaboration, but that's not what I want. I just want my client to be able to edit only the text and have them to be able to do it each month, save and send to the printer without needing me or InDesign. If this is not what InCopy is designed for, does anyone have suggestions of what I can use to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

InCopy will not produce production ready file. It is a tool designed to allow editors and writers to work with content without touching the layout.
Output files need to be created from InDesign.

I have now used Reflow for 2 client prototypes and here is what I have found.

First, I can see Reflow being an incredible prototyping tool if Adobe steps up and makes it a useful tool for production and not just another creative program to help designers build for the web. That's what Muse is for.
So here is my wish list.
Reflow needs to be able to have more control over the DOM elements. By that I mean, we should be able to have a layer based approach (similar to what you can see in Macaw) to move elements around from "box" to "box" (also, can't we just call them "divs"). Nesting is crucial. Also, what's up with all the IDs in the published files? We should be able to name and create classes for these elements before it publishes. Also, support the basic HTML tags for users to control.
On that note, shared elements should have one style sheet instead of a style sheet for each page.
Also, elements should be able to be saved to a library for use on multiple pages. It is a nightmare now if you create an element on a page that needs to also be placed on other pages. You have to recreate it on each page as of now.
Support for common CSS frameworks would be an amazing idea...just sayin.
As for type...Edge fonts and Typekit are great but we all know that there are many other font libraries out there such as Google fonts. Also, being able to use your own @font-face should be an option.
I think the overall goal would be able to use the files produced as a starting point for production code. As it stands right now, the code that is produced will require more time to format properly than it would be to build from scratch.
I know Reflow is not meant to be a Dreamweaver or Brackets, but it could really help set the stage for development in those programs. It can improve the workflow of web development vs. just being a "cool new app". It has real potential and I hope it gets the love that it deserves.

As for stye sheets all being in one, we're debating this. Since we don't know everything you want to do page-to-page, we're holding off making this leap until we can begin cleaning up what CSS we already give you. (see last answer)
Common library elements: yup, we want this too. It's on our backlog.
Frameworks: yup again, on our backlog. Are there frameworks you would prefer? We don't wanna play favorites unnecessarily. We don't know how it might be prioritized, since we've got lots of features to get to.
Additional fonts: yup for this one too, we have it on our backlog to tackle. As a note, most google fonts are available in the Adobe Web Fonts.
Output: We're actively working on improving the CSS output from Reflow. We cannot promise perfect production quality, but the issues you raise are all ones we're eager to minimize.

You need weblogic jar file and if its ejb client application you might need client
file that can be produced by ejbc.

Hi, I have a built a Flex UI for a java project. The UI has
some forms which use a servlet for POST and data populated from
servlet. I have used HTTP service to make the calls. I have built
my application i.e UI in Flex Builder and when I run my application
from flex builder everything works fine i.e data populated
correctly..
But when I open the projects folder and run the html file
generated the Http Service does not happen. Can anybody tell me why
is this so?? . Moreover I want use this UI for my already existing
java project. So what all files (i,e. html, mxml, swf) will be
required to be copied to my java project for the UI to work ..
