Using Here navigation with Lumia 1520/W8.1 in my c...

With bluetooth activated on my phone and in the car (Hyundai i40/2012) the voice navigation do not work as expected.
Every time navigation instructions are given the car's phonesystem is activated as an incoming call which of course cannot be answered. Anyone experienced this and found a solution?
De-activating bluetooth on the phone does help and voice guidance works as expected on the phone, however this is not a good solution and I would like to have the bluetooth activated and voice guidance working through the car's speaker system as it did with my previous model (Lumia 920).
Any help will be appreciated.

I have been in contact with Nokia Care on the above subject.
Finally got the voice guidance to work after doing the following:
1. Deleting the phone from my bluetooth list in my car
2. Removing following char from my phonebook: /()
3. Deleting the bluetooth pairing from my phone
4. Re-started the phone
5. Paired to my car
6. Chosed a destination.
7. Started navigating to that destination.
8. The voice guidance working on my cars speakers.
9. Stopped navigating.
10. Chose another destination
11. Started navigating to that destination
12. The voice guidance working on my cars speakers
13. Stopped navigating.
14. Chose recent destination or a favorite destination
15. Started navigating to that destination
16. The voice guidance DID NOT WORK!!
17. Stopped navigating.
18. Went back to choosing as under 6.
19. Started navigating to that destination
20. The voice guidance DID NOT WORK!!
Conclusion:
It seems that I can get the voice guidance to work as long as I do not select destination from other than "Choose a destination". Selecting a destination from "Recent destinations" or from "Favorites" does not seem to work.
Funny, however this was not the situation before W8.1. Has anything been done with the bluetooth communication after W8?
Note:Microsoft Mobile Devices states in a FAQ on this matter that you should use the phone's internal loudspeaker for the time being. However I then have to switch off bluetooth which of course is no solution. For the time being we just have to wait until hopefully this technical problem is solved by Microsoft.

    I have Lumia 1520 which I bought in may 2014. Last month I have updated to wp8.1. Initially it was doing fine but since last 10-15 days I have been facing a series of issues with my mobile. I suspect 8.1 update to be the reason as I never faced a glitch

  • Using Spry Navigation with php includes in a Dreamweaver dwt file

    I am working on a large site and am attempting to set up templates in Dreamweaver, which will include the navigation as an includes file with php.  First of all, wondering if it is possible?  Second, how do I address the problem of my pages being at different levels within the site?  Very new to php coding, but my pages that are not connected to a template are working properly.

    Yeah!  David!  I don't know what you get paid, but it is not enough.  After replacing the file, it is working.  I did change the links in my index page and took off the /.  But the menu is now showing on all the pages now that were having issues.  I probably corrupted it somehow.  I really appreciate your help with this.  What a way to spend the holiday.  I guess we are making it true to its name.  This has definitely been laborous.  If there is such a word.

  • Using tab navigation with layers

    I am trying to put together a tabbed sub-navigation system
    within a page but I am having trouble getting it to work properly.
    I would love some input on how I can go about doing this and have
    the tabs be able to show a "You are here state" when on a
    particular layer.

    Are you sending the cursor to the selected block in the When-Tab-Page-Changed trigger? Also, what are the properties of your data block relationship (Specifically the Coordination properies)? If you have Deferred = YES and Automatic Query = YES then the child data block will not be queries until you navigate to the block.

  • Lumia 1520 + here drive+ tooo hot - switch off

    With the latest version of Here Drive, i can't use it as it get very hot around the camera, then, the phone switch off and the windows button pulse every 1 second... Once cooled down? The phone restart automatically
    if i restart here drive, enter my destination and start the navigation, the phone switch off again about 1 to 2 min later and the same cycle happen again... Also, my battery drained very quickly (even if plug on the car charger via usb!)
    it is quite annoying when the sat nav stop and you don't know where you are... Restarting while driving is quite dangerous as well...
    if i don't use here drive, the phone behave as expected... I didn't had this issue with the previous version...
    how can this be fixed... Otherwise here drive, an app which i love an make me choose Lumia, become useless...

  • Lumia 1520 reboots when front camera is used

    Hi all, I picked up an international version of the Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks back in India and I just realized that the phone reboots when ever I try to use the front camera. This is happening with all apps. The apps that i have tried till now are as follows
    OneShot, Nokia Camera, Default camera app and Camera360.
    The reboot happens with all the apps only when I try to use the front camera. I have tried hard resetting the phone but that too has not solved the problem. I have seen a couple of discusstions on this topic over here but none of them contained any helpful replies.
    The handset is running the Lumia Black update. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it is a software issue I dont mind waiting for a patch, but if it is a hardware issue then I have no option but to reutrn to it. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 from Snapdeal. 2 days after using the phone, I inserted an SD card for data transfer and it didn't work with the phone. I tried to format the SD card as per Nokia forums and also tried to reset the phone but to no help. I took the handset to Nokia Care (Net Dot Solutions, Tilak Nagar, Delhi) and they tried to do a software upgrade but to no help.
    I submitted the brand new working phone and the Nokia care kept it for 15 days. The only reply I ever got from them was that the set is in the factory with no status update at all. After 15 days I got response from Nokia care that the Phone is warranty devoid and not covered under warranty any more. There was no specific reason given for the warranty being devoid.
    When I went to collect the set, it had minor scratches on the screen, which were not there when the set was submitted. The support personnel said that these are very minor and expected to be there. Very Strange! Also upon using the phone after I got it back from Nokia Care, I found that the front Camera is not working and the phone crashes each time the Camera is opened. Also the Auto-Brightness control (probably due to its sensor) is also not working.
    Nokia care has damaged my phone in the 15 days they had it. Who is to be held responsible. And now they say my phone is warranty devoid and I need to pay for any repairs.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 having problems with Voyager Lege...

    I recently purchased Nokia Lumia 1520 and I am having some problems with Plantronics Voyager Legend. Before 1520 I was using HTC Radar 4G with Plantronics Voyager Legend and I don't have any problems. The problems that I am having are, when I am on a call using the Plantronics Voyager Legend the voice of the person will automatically switched between Plantronics Voyager Legend and 1520 through out the entire conversation back and forth. It does read all my text messages without any problems. Another problem is on my HTC Radar 4G once I turn on the Bluetooth under setting Bluetooth stays on even after I reboots the phone. On 1520 after rebooting the phone Bluetooth is off automatically by the Windows 8. Why does it do that? Are there any workaround or fixes for my issues

    My Voyager Legend firmware is up to date.  This Voyager Legend works with all my others electronics without any problems.  Problem with Nokia Lumia 1520 only.  I think the problem is 1520 Windows 8 OS.  I am waiting on Plantronics to contact me but looks like I am at the bottom of the list.  Does anyone know why after rebooting the 1520, Nokia Windows 8 OS automatically turn the Bluetooth off in setting, under Bluetooth everytime?

  • Data being used even on WiFi? Lumia 1520

    I recalled this being an issue with users in the past with other devices until GDR3 fixed this. Somehow on my Lumia 1520 I used over 3GB of "Media Streaming" data according to Data Sense in the last 2 weeks. I don't see how this is possible as I'm connected to wifi 95% of the time. If I'm not connected to wifi I don't do more than send texts, a few instant messages or emails. I don't stream videos and I have both Xbox Music and auto upload of pics and videos turned off.
    This concerns me greatly as I am now 680MB away from hitting my 6GB limit and I still have 9 days to go. Overage charges are BRUTAL on my carrier (Rogers). I assume that even when it shows wifi as connected it's actually not connected. I will now have to disconnect and reconnect to wifi to play it safe before I stream or view any online media with my 1520.
    Anyone else seeing this issue or have any suggestions?

    Well on average I use about 3-4GB a month previously with my Lumia 920. With my Lumia 1520 I have reached 6GB in 3 week with still just over a week to go. I've had to turn off my data completely to keep myself from overage charges. My concern is that I don't understand why data is being used while connected to wifi at home. If I have my device setup to connect to wifi automatically at home, and as you suggested, I have it set to stay connected to wifi after the screen times out.. then why is it still using data over wifi? And to make it worse the phone tricks me by showing me an active wifi connection in the status bar. So I'll be at home, comfortably surfing the next, streaming media while under the assumption that I'm connected to wifi since it shows I'm connected to wifi but in reality I'm using data. Why do I have to manually disable wifi and re-enable it just to feel assured I'm using wifi? I never had to do this on my Lumia 920.
    So far in the last 4 days I've only witnessed my phone hold connection to wifi over a period of several hours twice without me manually needing to disconnect and reconnect again. But sadly, there was no obvious answer to why it worked those 2 random times that it did. Is the issue my router? Do I have a botched device that needs replacement? I've consulted others on WPCentral's forums and found several others reporting the same issue though it doesn't appear widespread. I just need to know if I need to up my data plan to 10GB to cover myself from constant overages.

  • Problem with SD card files on Lumia 1520

    Dear all, my Lumia 1520 keeps giving problems with files on SD card.
    I normally put pictures and music files on the SD card but everytime when I restart the phone, all the files on SD card disappear. According to the WP app all the files are turned into other data and I have checked that a hidden file (with no data type) could be found in the SD folder with the equivalent size of all the files I put on the SD card. 
    What can I do about it?

    I also noticed this issue with a Sony 64GB microSD card. I had some pictures/videos on this new card and suddenly all disapeared. The card space used by some files is displayed under "other" and phone message says something about the file format is unrecognizable hence it has placed them under "other" to be managed by the user via PC but I don't see "other" folder when my phone is connected to the laptop with Windows 7.
    Can someone on this forum help me?

  • I am having an issue using my Iphone with Bluetooth in my car. If I am driving, and my wife uses her phone to access google and type in anything, it activates the phone feature, and "Talking" appears on our Navi screen. Can anyone help?

    We are having trouble using our Iphone with the Bluetooth system in our 2012 Highlander. When I am driving and my wife, using her Iphone, uses Google and types in anything at all, letters of numbers, it activates the phone on our Navigation system and initiates a call. It goes away after a few seconds, but happens every time.
    No problem pairing the phone with the car's bluetooth, and no problems making calls.
    Just returned from our Toyota dealer, who had no answers.
    Can anyone help on this?

    This happens when I am driving, and my wife, using her Iphone, accesses Google.com. Once she is on the web site, and she types in her search, it activates the phone on the Navi system, and the screen on the navi system says "talking".
    I have a Blackberry, and it is also paired with the car, but we make sure only my wife's Iphone is connected when the happens.

  • Is it possible to condition a load cell signal with a 1520 SCXI and then use it as the primary analog feedback for a 735X motion control board?

    My objective:
    I want to measure the force on the load cells with the 1520 SCXI (i.e. excite the load cell then amplify and condition its output) then I want to use this analog (force) signal as the primary feedback for my motion control system (7356 and 7354 motion controller connected to my drives and motors).
    The problem:
    The motion controller boards (7356 and 7354) can be configured for force feedback control via analog feedback from a load cell.  However the boards implicitly expect the load cell signal to be amplified and conditioned with and external signal conditioner rather then using an NI SCXI module.  Currently I’m am reading the SCXI signals via the 6259 M seriers DAQ and consequentially have no way to route the signal into the 735X boards for force feedback control.  I can use softmotion to control the motors but then I loose the fast PID update rates possible with the 735X boards.
    The question:
    Is it possible to condition a load cell signal with a 1520 SCXI and then use it as the primary analog feedback for a 735X motion control board?

    True a few op-amps could amplify and filter the signal externally but the performance of such an amateur built system will never match the accuracy and functionality of the 1520 SCXI.  That’s why we spent the $2500 for the professional version.

    As I understand it the UMI is basically a break out connectivity interface for third party drives.  After conditioning and amplifying the analog force signal with the SCXI module the analog signal isn’t available to wire into a UMI.  To my knowledge the conditioned signal of the SCXI resides only in the PXI backplane (i.e. there is no physical access to the conditioned analog signal).  Can you explain how the UMI could be help here.

    As  Winston Churchill wrote, however you might want to do a factory reset on the Apple TV.
    This way all information pertaining to your daughter will be removed from the device. Specifically if see was sign into any of the streaming service, Netflix, Hulu, etc. her credentials will still be associated with this Apple TV, doing  a factory reset will remove all that and make it as if you purchased the device and just plugged it in.

    I have an iPhone 4S and the latest Apple TV, both setup with my email address as the Apple ID.  I subscribed to iTunes Match so our music could be played from iCloud.  I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID.  When I try to turn on iMatch so she can play our music from iCloud on her new iPad it tells me that she needs a subscription to iTunes Match.  Is it Apple's intent that we would need two iTunes Match subscriptions?  If not, how do I accomplish what I want to get done?

    The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
    Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
    also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
    and the iTunes Match services.
    (I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
    If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
    iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
    and
    iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
    In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

I updated ny phone to the new OS version and all her texting is showing up on my phone.  I understand if i create an apple account for her I will not see her texts. Recently we bought a Mac and created a new apple account for her. How do I synched her phone with new apple account and get access to the music library under my account on the new MAC laptop  before I update her phone to the new OS?
    Going forward if I purchase music under my apple id and want her to have it on her device, how can I acheive that?

    You can continue to share an Apple ID for purchases.
    Sign her in to her new account here:
    Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (Keep on Phone if you want to transfer contacts, calendars, etc...) then sign in with her new ID
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID > Sign out then in with new
    Settings > FaceTime > Apple ID > Sign out then in with new
    Use the same Apple ID here:
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID
