Using Maven 2.0 with Eclipse

Hello,
Does anyone know of a plugin for eclipse that allows you to create projects based on the maven 2.0 layout?
Thanks in advance,
Ger

You might want to look at apache plugin for eclipse:
http://eclipse-plugins.info/eclipse/plugin_details.jsp?id=1259
It is very new, but does some of the work.

  • JAX WS using MAVEN in ECLIPSE

    Helllo everyone,

I would need step by step tutorial as am new to both maven and web services. In that case you need two decent books. Especially in the case of Maven that is highly recommended as it has a very steep learning curve. I wrote an article about getting started with Maven and about using Maven in Eclipse that you could use as a base for your research:
    http://entjavastuff.blogspot.com/2010/06/maven2-copy-pastable-template.html
    http://entjavastuff.blogspot.com/2011/10/using-maven-in-eclipse.html
But I stress that point: use it as a base for your research; there is no real step by step guide that will make you understand, it will only show you what to do in a very specific case which will not match what you want to do. As for your web services question, that's a simple Google query. "maven jax-ws". That should point you to the Maven plugin documentation.

  • Can we use RoboHelp with Eclipse as version control?

Im am using RoboHelp 7 in the Tech Comm Suite in a Windows XP environment.
I see a lot of information on using RoboSource as versionn control, but I'm not seeing a lot of information on other third-pary version control software.  I did see one posting that suggested that if you are planning to use third-party software, you should uninstall RoboSource first.  I can't seem to figure out the following:
How do you determine if your version control (Eclipse) supports Microsoft SCC API?
How do you get RH to recognize Eclipse? Even though I uninstalled RoboSource Control 3, it still shows up in the Select Version Control Provider
Are there step-by-step instructions anywhere that show how to get RoboHelp to recognize third-party software?
As always, thanks for your assistance.

    Colum,
Thanks for recommending that I visit Peter's web site.  It has a great page on Eclipse.  Wish I had read it before I was shoved kicking and screaming into using it.  However, it did stop short of providing me with information to troubleshoot the problems I'm having with Eclipse and RH 7.  I sent him an e-mail from the site and hope that he will be able to answer it.

  • Using *.so files with eclipse

    Hey there
I'm having a little problem compiling an application which uses *.so files with eclipse:
If I run eclipse from the directory in which the *.so files are present, the application will run.
However, if I run eclipse from any other directory , the applicationwon't run, stating that the *.so were not found.
I've placed the path to the directory on my $PATH , and tried to add the following line to the VM variables in the RUN menu:
    -Djava.class.path=<directory _name>
    but to no avail..
    Any ideas?
    Thank You!

I added it to the LD path, but nothing changed.
How can I check if eclispe picked up the change?First check that you can now run your program from any directory and then worry about Eclipse.
Where did you setup the LD_LIBRARY_PATH?

  • Using Maven with OC4J libraries?

Well its my turn for a return question to the fine folks on this forum.
Is anyone out there using Maven with OC4J? I've been using it lately, but there's one area that I'd like to see ideas on how to best approach.
<p>When developing Ant scripts to build projects, I typically create a j2ee.classpath PATH and add to it various jar files from the OC4J distribution.
    </p>
<p>However in Maven, I'm not sure how to best approach this with the OC4J JAR files since several of them have declared dependencies in their META-INF/MANIFEST.MF Class-Path fields -- so they aren't really standalone JAR files. </p>
Take a look at the j2ee/home/admin_client.jar file and its manifest.mf:
    <p>
    Class-Path: lib/adminclient.jar oc4jclient.jar ../../webservices/lib/wsserver.jar lib/ejb.jar
    lib/mx4j-jmx.jar lib/jmxri.jar lib/jmx_remote_api.jar lib/jaas.jar ../../lib/xmlparserv2.jar
    ../../oracle/lib/xmlparserv2.jar lib/javax77.jar lib/javax88.jar ../../diagnostics/lib/ojdl.jar
    ../../oracle/lib/dms.jar ../../oracle/jlib/dms.jar ../../lib/dms.jar ../../jlib/dms.jar lib/jta.jar
    lib/jms.jar lib/connector.jar ../../opmn/lib/optic.jar ../../oracle/jlib/oraclepki.jar ../../jlib
    oraclepki.jar ../../oracle/jlib/ojpse.jar ../../oracle/jdbc/lib/ojdbc14dms.jar ../../oracle/jdbc/lib
    ocrs12.jar ../../oracle/rdbms/jlib/aqapi.jar ../../jlib/ojpse.jar</p>
So if I want to make use admin_client.jar in a maven project, I really need all the other libraries it in turn references -- and they are all specified as relative paths. If I wanted to load admin_client.jar into a local Maven repository, how would it be done? How would these paths be expressed/maintained?

    Kristen:
You can use iPhoto Library Manager to copy that album to one library so that all of the files will be in one library to use.
with iPLM you can split libraries up by roll or album or both. Jusgt figure out which library which albums will belong to.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Deploying applications to glassfish using Maven.

    Hello,
I am both a glassfish and maven newbie.
I want to know if there's away to automatically deploy my .war in glassfish via the .pom file.
(My current solution: an ant script to copy my target .war to glassfish/domains/domain1/autodeploy is not the best;)
    Thanks,

You aren't forced to use Maven's project structure actually.
When I first tried Maven (after years of using Ant) I was annoyed by the perception that I must conform to Maven. However, the default location for such things as the ${project.build.outputDirectory} are just that - defaults for those who favour convention over configuration. You can of course override them (as I still do for the artifact output directory) and even do so in a super pom for al your projects so they can be automatically inherited.
Maven is more than just a dependency management tool though - it is a build sequencer. This perhaps more powerful if a more subtle aspect to appreciate. Once you devote a small amount of time to learn how to get the best out of Maven (read Better Builds With Maven as a good starting point) you will not want to go back to Ant - I haven't yet.
As far as finding JARs is concerned this is just as time consuming with Maven as with any other means of meeting library dependencies. I find two things useful here: one is iGoogle and a plugin for it called "javacio.us search"; the other is using a local proxy such as Nexus which also indexes the repository. Combined with an IDE such as IDEA or Eclipse which have good Maven support including artifact autocompletion this makes locating the right versions of artifacts quite easy.Apache Archiva is another very good Maven proxy. As for finding libraries, I just bang "<dependency name> maven ibiblio" into Google, and let it do the heavy lifting. Never failed me yet. What is annoying is when groupIds change between versions. Yes, Hibernate, I'm looking at you.....

  • How to use Maven Java EE projects in NB?

    Hi,
I probably just missing something than it is an error. Our company uses Maven, and JBoss. Most programmers unfortunatelly uses Eclipse so I do not have anyone to ask. I've checkouted project from SVN, it was correctly recognised by NB as Maven project, I can build it (with some warning, but build is successful). But I cannot run or debug it. Maybe it's because those actions aren't defined by someone who created this project I don't know. Actually I do not know nothing about maven, yet. Question is, how to run or debug this project on my local JBoss server. I did not find way how to do it ...
    thanks in advance
    martin.

Ok, I say it in this way. I do not know anything about maven, and never used it before. What I DO know, that Eclipse IS NOT Netbeans. In this situation it means that on our project, which I do not know whether it is proper EE maven project or not, I can in Netbeans set ONLY VM options AND some maven action which, as I already said, do not know anything at all, so I cannot even tell whether or not they can be used to solve my problem.
As I already said what I get from svn IS NOT EE project BUT maven project, this is where netbeans and eclipse differs, since there are no maven projects in eclipse(or at least nobody here heard about them). I do know how to work with EE projects in NB, but I'm talking about maven projects here.
How others do it. Start JBoss from their eclipse in debug mode, COMPILE EVERYTHING LIKE NORMAL - MAVEN_FREE PROJECT (which I cannot do in NB) deploy all .jars manually in their OS to appropriate JBoss directory, then set breakpoints, do some action in browser and then miracously somehow they get into debug mode in eclipse. I cannot build maven project like simple EE project in NB, when I try to work with what I find in private repository like it's result of normal build, then it does not work since dependencies aren't set correctly so I have to fix them manually and do not know how to do it.
Look, I know that you can stop pain of person suffering from cancer by shooting his head off, but that's not the cure we're looking for. I've heard that maven was originally intended for simplifying development process and I cannot afford 90minutes procedure in my RunBuilds&TestAsOftenAsPossible work style.
Actually, there is JUST ONE person in whole firm(not in our city), who know something about maven, others are just lost. That's the reason why I'm asking here to find out what's wrong. I'm looking FOR PROPER WAY how to do it.No for screwing screws with hammer.

I've a JEE project with Maven 3.0.5  and JBoss Seam 2.3. I've some problems in Weblogic 12.1.2 application deployments with Eclipse.

    C\:/FundeWeb/2.0/workspace/fundeweb2/web/src/main/webapp = web_fundeweb2 (project web resources)

In the virtual application deployments, I think that the OEPE integration with M2E and M2E-WTP, there are include only the m2e-wtp folders.

Do you have any idea of how to do use Adobe Flash Player 4.7 with Eclipse Kepler?
A new version of the Builder is planned for that?
