Using .movs in Templates for FCPX

Hi, all!
I was trying to create a "Filter" in Motion 5 for use in FCPX. The idea was to make a "old film" effect, so I mad a vignette, border defocus, randomized Y motion and defocussing, flickering light - the whole shabang - and it looked great. Finally I composed a Quicktime .mov of actual 35mm telecined film scratches and dust over the image via multiply.
When I use the effect on a clip in FCPX that is longer that the duration of the effect-template I created in Motion, FCPX "stretches" the effect temporarily, meaning my clip with the scratches and dust-particles plays back slower.
Is there a possibility of having Motion or FCPX loop the .mov contained in the effect for the duration needed insted of time-stretching it?

Then you are in the wrong business. If you want to be at all effective with DW, that will have to change.
I'm using swap image behaviors for a navigation bar and have made this an editable region so that on any certain page I can delete the swap image and just keep it as a steady image showing what page the viewer is on (does that make sense??).
Yes, it makes sense. It's also a fatal error. By making the navigation element sit in an editable region you have made sure that each page will have to be edited manually. Consider using a different approach - either use a menu system that does this kind of thing for you, or implement one of the many methods that will manage those menu images. Here are some thoughts:
It's easy to do with CSS or with javascript.
With CSS you would have a little stylesheet embedded in the head of each
page that allows you to set the down state for any given button (each button
would have a unique id - for example -
<a href="foo.html" id="button1">...<a href="bar.html" id="button2">
and then your stylesheet would have this -
a#button1 { styles }
on one page, and on another this -
a#button2 { styles }
See how that works?
With javascript, put this in script tags in the head of the document -

and this on the <body> tag

Then on each page you would need to make two edits:
Set g7 to the *name* of the button (not the file name but the HTML name -
e.g., "productsbutt"), and g7url to the pathname to the button (e.g.,
"images/nav/button3.gif"), and bada bing, bada boom!

Use ANY web template for a theme?

is it possible to use ANY web template (for ex from template monster) and make it a theme in iweb in which everything still stays connected together?
Rather than just searching for exact "iweb themes"? cause they all look super generic.

No, you can't unless they were designed for iWeb and come with an installer. If you want something more unique start with a blank white or black theme page and build your own.

Using a letterhead template for a multi-page document

When using a letterhead template for a multipage document, how do I turn off the template for pages after the first page? I do not want to have the letterhead show up on every page of a letter.

You can set new margins for your new section in the Layout Inspector. After removing the letterhead elements open the Layout Inspector, choose the Layout tab and set the margins as you need them.
Once you've created and formatted the section to your liking, make it a permanent part of your template.
1. With the cursor on the second page, go to Format>Advanced>Capture Pages
2. Give the page a descriptive name, such as 'Second Page'. Include 'First page only.'
3. Click 'Ok.'
This 'Second Page' is now listed under the "Sections" icon on your toolbar.
4. Save the document as a template.
Now, whenever you start a new document based on this template add the second page using the Section Icon.
There is a shortcoming to this method in that text will not flow from the first page to the second, given that there is a section break between the two pages. This would be the case even in Word. Of course, even in Word you could not change the margins for the second page without also changing the margins for the first page unless you used a section break.
One way to avoid this problem is to but your address block for the first page into a page high text box and allow text to wrap around it. You can keep the same margins for the first and second page, but on the first page the text will be pushed over to the right. When it wraps to the second page, the text will return to the left margin.

Creating a Transition Template for FCPX

So I am familiar with FCPX and editing, however I am still working on developing my skills in animated graphics. I found a great transition I want to brand my videos with but it is saved as a After Effects Project. Upon opening it AE just has transparency behind it and no placeholder media for what would be transitioning. This would work find if I was making my project in AE, but I want to save this transition as a Transition that pops up in my FCPX Transitions Panel. I know you can create custom transitions in Motion, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience in making transitions, and if it would be possible to get an AE transition to be used as a Motion transition. Man I hope that makes sense lol.

Yeah -
Create your logo graphics in AE (you'll need to -- can't do that kind of 3D effects in Motion). Remove anything that pertains to a background and Export the project as ProRes 4444 (you'll need the transparency — everything that is background should be transparent.)
In Motion, move the playhead to the point at which you want the storyline to transition from the incoming clip to the outgoing clip. Select Transition A layer and type 0 to mark an out point. Select Transition B layer and type 'i' to mark an in point.
Save the transition. Supply a Category name (say: My Logo) and a project name (you don't need to deal with Themes and you don't need to provide a Preview).

How to use one WAD template for all the available queries

Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...

The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
But if you want to customize the Report Template:
1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.

I am using JDev 10. .I realized the default templates of JSP in JDev don't match with my projects so I want to create my own template for JSP Pages. I read some threads in Forum about this problem but I am a beginner, I cannot understand fully and don't know the way to create template nor adding it into Project. Can a RoboHelp project be used as a template for other projects?

I noticed there is the ability to "duplicate a layout". Does
that mean I can use my RoboHelp project with all its settings as a
template for other projects. I corrupted an existing project by
deleting a generated HTML file. I forced an update on one of the
chapters in a linked FM book and now for whatever reason in the
generated output, the entire book is being re-created within the
folder for the chapter in which I deleted the HTML output and
forced an output.
Surely I don't have to redefine all the settings again in the
FrameMaker Document Settings dialog, and in the WebHelp layout. All
enlightenment is much appreciated. Come on baby give it to me one
more time! Sorry couldn't resist. It is Friday after all.

You seem to have a multiple segmented question.

In one way, yes you can. You are able to use Windows Explorer
to copy the project folder to a new location. Once you do that, you
can open RoboHelp and open the project. Then click File > Rename
Project and off you go.
Not sure what to tell you about the Frame > RoboHelp
mashup. Not familiar with Frame yet. Hopefully someone more savvy
there will pop in and help.

Hi Patrick,
Let me see if I understand your query properly first. Your requirement is that you have a PDF file which is pretty much fixed.
Now you want to use the Template present in the PDF file to be shown to the user, but this should be pre-filled with data that you receive from a Web Service & RFC.
Now firstly I will mention the easy way, which would require you extract the PDF Template statically, I am not sure if the API has now been released to do that programatically.
Now, lets say you store it is some location the template file, you would also need to tweak the DataBinding properties in the Template to match to that of the Context Node you will use in the application.
Now in the ModifyView method you should get a reference to the Interactive form element, use the setTemplateSource method to refer to your template.
Now based on the response from your RFC/WebService create the appropriate attributes into the node, and your form should work fine.

That’s quite a nice computer you have your eyes on, and at that price, I completely understand why you’d want to snatch that up as quickly as possible. It’s regrettable to hear your mover’s coupon didn’t apply as you’d hoped though, especially as there isn’t anything in the terms and conditions excluding open-box items. I can see why this would be more than a little confusing.

Where used in web templates for parameter groups

Does SAP deliver any where used functionality for parameter groups? I need a report or function that can take as input a parameter group (fully qualified) and deliver back all the web layouts and planning folders that the parameter group (or for that matter global planning sequence) is used.
I can find the XML of the web templates but that is a bear to parse and have not found the tables that show the details of planning folders (if any).

we don't have a where-used functionality but in SAP NetWeaver 2004s you can use programs UPC_CUSTOMIZING (for BPS0), UPB_CUSTOMIZING (for folders) and UPWB_CUSTOMIZING (for web interfaces) to display and search through the configuration. It's one folder or web interface at a time but it's certainly quicker than doing it manually.

Can I use Premiere Elements templates for Encore CS6

LIke the title says.... can I use menu templates from Premiere Elements for Encore CS6? If so, does it matter what version of PRE?
I've seen some templates on the web (e.g. muvipix) but don't know if I could use them in Encore.
I saw somebody asked a similar question for CS4, didn't know what, if anything, had changed...
ETA: Just FYI, I downloaded the Encore CS6 Functional Content and installed it, but honestly I'm not sure if it added any templates or what.... :)

Also, I have to say, for stuff on that's so valuable, Adobe has made the page very hard to find and made the instructions as clear as mud.
First, I'm still not clear on what the difference is between "Functional Content" and "Resource Central Library Content".
Second, as far as I can tell, I never had the problem being addressed by the page (i.e. "When you access the Library panel in Adobe Encore, the panel contains no content."). My library panel always had content, just not a lot of it.
My problem would more accurately be described as "When you access the Library panel in Adobe Encore, the panel contains surprisingly little content.". So the mother lode of content I was looking for was buried as an "Additional Solution" for a problem I didn't have.
And lastly, the Functional Content is some oddly double-zipped self-extracting affair, and the "Resource Central Content is a more straight-forward compressed file, but unlike the Functional Content, it's a .7z file so you have to download a 7-zip compatible decompression tool.
It's awesome that Adobe has that content, so I hate to complain, but it's not so awesome how hard it is find and install.

Using a single file as a template for th whole site

My Application.cfm file has the code that i am using as a
template for the rest of my site. On the template, the title
section looks like this. <cfif

and the title variable is set on the end page. lets just say
test.cfm but when i view test.cfm the title is always Welcome. How
can i fix this. and this also goes along with my content. On the
application.cfm pge i have empty divs. on the test.cfm page i have
the same divs only with all the page-relevant information in them,
but they never show up. I know that this is how you do it in php.
but how do you do it in ColdFusion

Theres a few things you could do here... none of which I
think is the perfect solution. It all depends on your preference as
well as the needs of your application.
-- Move your page title code to another file - call it
Header.cfm or something along those lines -- and include it in
every page after you set the pagetitle variable.
-- Use Javascript to add the page title to some div at the
top of the page when it loads. (not my favorite option here)
-- Check out the CF tag cfsavecontent. You could save the
generated HTML in test.cfm into a variable and output it later. Put
your pagetitle code in OnRequestEnd.cfm, which is called AFTER
every template is executed. Set your pagetitle variable in test.cfm
and save the HTML into a variable, then in OnRequestEnd.cfm output
the pagetitle followed by your generated content.

Motion project length for FCPX effects templates.

When creating a Motion Effect Template for FCPX, is there a recommend project length? Is shorter better since the effect will change based on the clip length in FCPX? Or does it really matter as long as it is long enough to cover all included behaviors, etc? Thank you.

Generally the 10 second default duration works quite well.

Stock Transfer for Excisable Materials Using Movement Type 301

Hi,
We are having a Plant 1002 as excisable Materials.
During GR we following the process like GR (Part -I), Capture Invoice, Post Invoice.
Can we transfer the Material from Plant 1002 to other Plant, say 1001, using Movement Type 301?
Or we need to follow some other router for Stock Transfer for the Excisable Materials?
I was told by the ex-consultant that we would be using Mov Type 301 for all Stock Transfers, but I have a doubt, please guide.*

Here in Brazil we work with excisable material and when we have to transfer it plant to plant, we have to use IVA that performs tax posts on accounting document. Also, we have to create Nota Fiscal (BrazillianLegal Document).
I think you have to talk to your legal/accounting area in order to make sure which procedure you will have to use.
If you need tax posting on accounting document, then you will not be able to use 301 movement type.
We use MM/SD Plant to Plant transfer (movement type 861 / 862)
Depending on your Legal/accounting area feed back, you could use this scenario or just MM plant to plant transfer (movement type 303/305).
If they are ok with no tax postings on accounting document, then 301 movement type should be used.
Try to make a test, show then how it works, then you could get ok from then
