Using old Pages templates

Can the old templates in the previous version of Pages be opened up in the newer version?

Yes/No, because Apple has removed so many features they open but with varying amounts of errors or corruption.
There was a reason Apple did not include them in Pages 5 templates.

You can export it as a pdf. Then open the pdf with Preview and export is as a jpeg from there.

11g PS2 - Image used in page template not displayed on browser before logi

Hi All ,
I have used the company logo and placed it in the page template which has been used to develop the UI.The images are placed in resources/images folder and accessed the same way too.
Basic form based authentication has been enabed for the application.
The image is not displayed on the login page. Just displays a [X] and the shortDesc given to the image.
Once I login I can see the image for the other pages which use the same template.
Any idea what might be wrong here ?

No , I am not able to even access the image directly , it redirects me to the login page.

My old Pages templates?

I recently upgraded iWork to iWork 09. My former Pages was version 1.0.2. My new Pages is 4.0.2. I know how to find the templates in my new version, but the templates folder doesn't show my old templates. Where do I find those, and how do I move them to the new templates folder where all the pre-designed Apple templates live?
I couldn't find this particular bit of info with a search in this forum, and hope someone might be able to explain.

Page Template in SharePoint 2013 Online ?

Hi All,
I am doing cross site publishing wherein currently my Publishing site showing some departments like HR,Admin,Finance and using content search webpart to show the contents of each department using single Item page (item.aspx).
I heard about the new concept of page template; so my question is instead of using item page how can we use single page template to display the contents across multiple departments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cross Site Publishing, would typically be done via the Content Search Web Part and the display templates. Can you have a look at this, as it might be what you meant?

I'm using a card template and trying to find what Avery product I should get to print the card on

I using a Pages greeting card template and trying to find out what Avery product I should buy to print it on. Where is this infromation?

The Avery web site has the layouts of its products and also ms Word tempaltes that open in Pages.
If you wish to use the Pages' templates select the overall rectangle of the card:
Inspector > Metrics
To find out the size and then look for the matching Avery stock, you will probably have to adjust bot the size and position for a close match.
However since greeting cards are just rectangles folded in half all you need to do is print them on card stock with some crop marks offset from the corners and cut them out with a sharp knife or a guillotine. Not rocket science.

Pages Template help (placeholder on every page).

I have this problem with using the Pages template for writing a Resume. Namely when I place my photo in a placeholder, it is also present on every following page. And I don't know how to remove it so that it stays on the first page only.

Welcome to Apple discussions.
The reason your photo (or even the placeholder photo) will repeat on every page is because it's been defined as a master object. Master objects are designed to repeat like that. To change it to a normal photo, select it, then click on Format > Advanced > Move Object to Page. After that, it shouldn't repeat.

Page Template selection

Hello,
I am using ADF Faces 11g.
I am trying to let users to design their own pages using predefined page templates.
I wonder if it is possible to reach registered page templates (which are listed in pagetemplate-metadata.xml) and all facetrefs defined in them, programmatically. I want to list some of the page templates for user selection, then i want the user to be able to fill it's facetrefs with their own content.
Any ideas?

Hi,
you can reference facets at runtime by looking them up from the JSF viewroot. So you don't need to bother with facetRefs because these are only required at designtime to specify which facet is used in which area of the template.

Where can I find more information about the jpeg files in pages templates?

I'm using a pages template (the menu in the 08 version). I like the three graphic images that are on the menu, how can I find out more info about them and their source?
I can find the file extension in the inspector, but even when I google that title I come up with nothing.
Any suggestions?

The images are buried deep in the apps packages.

Individual Product - Large - Change page template

Under module template, my Individual Product - Large module is using my sidebar template. Problem is I do not want it to use that page template. How do I change which page template the individual module templates use? Thanks

You can do this now.
You have

This will render US, AU NZ, UK etc depending on the country the person is in. You can do CSS styles, show images, set backgrounds, run javascript based on what this is and handle things accordinly.
With that in terms of the payment form and the checkout (you mentioned cart) if you have a proper domain setup will have their own templates.
At this time there is nothing outline for products with multiple templates directly. There are things you can do though to get different layouts depending on teh catalog being used etc.

Web Dynpro Proxy Page vs Default Page Template

Dear Experts.
I have the following doubt with I am creating Page in the portal.
The system display the two options following:

But I created the page with the two options, but I not find differences between the two options with respect to Layouts, and others.

Problem with af:resource in Page Template of Custom WebCenter Portal

According to the WebCenter Developers Guide in a bullet point just before section 11.2.4, I am supposed to be able to use a af:resource tag to include a custom css or js file within my page template. I am trying to do exactly that with a custom css and jquery js file that I have put into the shared folder of my custom portal implementation of JDeveloper. However, whenever I deploy my project and bring up a page using this page template, Firebug shows that it cannot find the file specified.
I try going directly to the files and get a 404.
I then check the security policy of the files and they are showing as having the default security policy, so I am not completely sure why this is not working.
The user that I am logging in as is part of a custom role, but I didn't think that that would have anything to do with files that are stored in the shared folder.
I did also make sure to Create Portal resources out of each file, but that didn't help either.
Any thoughts?

I created fair amount of portal with custom javascript and css and I didn't seem to find any of that...
What WebCenter Portal version do you use?

Pages Template file size?

I am using a Pages template to do a newsletter. The file is so huge (19 MB) I can't email it out. I have reduced the image sizes, I have reduced the number of pages (it's only 17 pages), I have taken out photos. Still too big. What more can I do? Is the template itself causing this issue?

Are you running Pages for mac OS X or Pages for iOS ?
As you give only infos upon iOS, I guess that it's Pages for iOS.
If I am right, it would be more efficient to ask in the forum dedicated to Pages for iOS.

Is there a way to use old templates from Pages '09 in Pages 5.0?

Another surprise in Pages 5.0: When I choose one of the (many) templates I used in Pages '09 (v4.3), I get a message saying that the template is old and has to be used in Pages '09. So it looks like I'll need to redo all my templates if I want to use them in Pages 5.0. Is there an easier way?

I opened P09>P09 Menu>General Preferences>For New Documents>Show Template Chooser>My Templates>chose old document (in this case, an envelope)>File>Save>entered a new name. I closed P09. Opened P5>chose to open with Show Document Chooser>My Templates>the new Template was not there. I went to Finder>Library....My Templates> the new document (envelope) was there, but it showed as an envelope, not like the other Templates (which showed the p5 logo with a small blue ruler at the bottom).
I was able to open a lot of my previous (newer) templates with P5 if I opened P5 to Show Template Chooser. But...when I Open P5>File>there is no "New from Template Chooser" in that File menu. That menu starts with New, Open..., and Recent. There is no "New from Template Chooser". In P09, I could be working on a Pages document, and could go File>and "New From Template Chooser" would be there. As I said, it's not present in P5.
Concerning the re-saving of an old template, is there anything else I should be doing? Secondly, is there a solution to my missing File choice for "New from Template Chooser"?
