Using OUI for installing custom products

Hi All,
I want to use OUI to install a custom product that I have developed. So i have some doubts regarding that...
1. Can OUI be pointed to a new Products.xml file which contains the details of the new product installation.
2. Is there some link, documentation, APIs to do that?
Any sort of help is appreciated as it is crucial...
Thanks,
SaurabhS

HI user784664
I'm afraid that you can't do that. Products.xml can be use to perform silent installed, When prompted by OUI, locate products.xml in the installation source directory:
i.e connectors/framework/10.2.0.2/1.0/source/Disk1/stage
Oracle Universal Installer to install Oracle products in any of the three following modes:
* Interactive:
Use OUI's interactive mode to use the graphical user interface to walk through the installation, providing information in the installation dialogs when prompted.
This method is most useful when installing a small number of products in different setups on a small number of machines
* Suppressed:
Use OUI's suppressed mode to supply the necessary information by using a combination of a response file or command line entries with certain interactive dialogs. You can choose which dialogs to suppress by supplying the information at the command line when you invoke OUI. This method is most useful when an installation has a common set of parameters that can be captured in a response file, in addition to custom information that must be input by hand.
* Silent:
Use OUI's silent installation mode to bypass the graphical user interface and supply the necessary information in a response file. This method is most useful when installing the same product multiple times on multiple machines. By using a response file, you can automate the installation of a product for which you know the installation parameters.
Herewith the detailled documentation about OUI:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b16227/toc.htm
But may be a request via metalink it should be possible to get more details about that question. Oracle is using the OUI API for Grid controller, CRS, ASM and RDBMS so why not with your product.

  • BUSINESS RULES FOR Vendor, Customer & PRODUCT

    Hi,
Can any one help me to provide Business Rules(Validation Rules) of Vendor, Customer & Product domain to be considered in integrating with other technologies.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi Joseph,
First tell me how you want to maintain Inventory size wise?? If it is your A is Length, B is Width and C is your Height and you are not maintaining size wise stock then use Length,Width and Height which is in Item master here you can set fix values and activate same columns in document and you can change it in document. But in this case you cannot maintain size wise stock
If you are maintaining stock size wise then you have to create new item code every time.
You cannot use BP catalog number for this.
    Thanks

  • I have a desktop Mac OS X Leopard. I want to upgrade to Quicken 2007, Install Snow Leopard and download iLife '11. I heard that Quicken and Snow Leopard can clash and have problems.  What would be the best order for installing these products. Thank You.

I have a desktop MAC OSX Leopard. I want to upgrade to Quicken 2007, install Snow Leopard, download iLife'11.  I heard that Quicken and Snow Leopard can clash..........that is why I am upgrading Quicken. What would be the best order of installing these products.  I have gotten defferent opinions and I want to be sure I install them correctly.
    Thank You.

First, install OS X, then install your third-party software.
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
      1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Check the box labeled Erase destination.
      5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the
          Destination entry field.
      6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the
          Source entry field.
      7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal
    startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
      1. If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the
update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it.
Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've
          restarted.
      2. You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system
software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through
other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
      3. The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other
interruption occurs during  installation, use the standalone installer (see below)
from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation  is in progress do not use
          the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
          1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
          2. Restart the computer.
          3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
          4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple
              logo appears.
          5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
          6. Follow instructions.
After installing Snow Leopard you should update it by downloading and installing Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Error using Bapi_PO_Change for update custom fields

    Dear Expert,
I have requirement for update custom field in table ekko. I used BAPI_PO_CHANGE with PO_number as a key. Then i put the value of custom field in segment TABLES - EXTENSIONIN.
But I get error : "ERROR TRANSFERING EXTENSIONIN DATA FOR ENHANCEMENT CI_EKKODB".
When I checked, I found the difference between data type the value for BAPI_PO_CHANGE (Usinf structure BAPIPAREX) and data type for custom field in table EKKO.
Data Type in BAPI_PO_CHANGE is CHAR (you can see in structure BAPIPAREX). And data type for the custom field is DECIMAL.
I found the note '1124803', but the correction note was not applicable for us because our released system is 500.
Is there any suggestion or solution for resolve our problem?
    Really appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    Hi Laxmikanth Bethi ,
I tried with BAPI_PO_CHANGE in level header, and SAP was support the BAPI. And also i tried to appending the same fields in MEPOHEADR & MEPOHEADERX structures, but the problem is the type of my custom fields are DECIMAL, then the type MEPOHEADR & MEPOHEADERX structures are CHARACTER. So i got the error :  "ERROR TRANSFERING EXTENSIONIN DATA FOR ENHANCEMENT CI_EKKODB".
    Because the types are difference.
Have you any suggestion to solve this problem?
    Really appreciate for your input.

  • Function Module for Installment Customer Payments

    Hello,
I am trying to create a payment due report for our customers. We use installment payment terms for our customers. Therefore, when run at the end of September 2011 this report has to only show the invoice amount, tax and discount that is due as of that date. Is there a function module that I can use to get the split based on these installment terms?
The only other option is to do the calculation manually within the program i.e. read the installment percentage from the table T052S and calculate the values per invoice. However, it seems as if there would be a easier way to do this. Can someone please suggest any function modules that can be used to calculate the net due, discount and tax amounts per installment period?
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

    Hi Suresh,
You have a standard IDOC function module to create the customer Master for Message Type DEBMAS is IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR and the process code is DEBM.
You can use that combination and you can create customer master with the IDOC's in your system.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Using OBIEE for a custom Data Warehouse

    Hi Everyone,
I am very new to OBIEE and I have a few questions about this product family.
    1. I have an existing custom build data warehouse, and I would like to know, is it possible to have build reports on this data warehouse?
    2. I understand that OBIEE comes with pre-built ETL jobs in Informatica, what kind of license is it? Is it possible to modify them, or even build new jobs that load into a non-OBIEE data warehouse?
your answer will be greatly appreciated.
    Jeffrey
    Edited by: user3265404 on Oct 13, 2009 12:50 PM

Its the same Informatica which can do all functions as a stand alone Infa. additionally it also has prebuilt adapters for source systems like Siebel, APPL, PSFT, JDE, SAP and some universal adapters, so the license included these also which is going to cost more than getting a informatica Licence from Informatica Corp. Moreover, OBI Apps 7.9.6 comes with Informatica 8.6 which is a little older version of the tool. Informatica is going to release version 9 in a couple of weeks.
I see that you already have a datawarehouse, so why do you need a ETl tool again?
OBI EE can directly report out of a datewarehouse, and also transactional systems as long as the metadata layer is built.
    PS: Am I clear?

  • Using ADM for create custom drawed items

    Hi,
I've started a new color selector plugin for CS3. The Win version works well. But the Mac version doesn't call the draw procs (set by Item Suite's SetDrawProc).
I've create all items on the dialog box by ADM Dialog Suite (CreateItem).
All the track and notify procs are called. The dialog's draw proc also called. But the individual item-s draw proc doesn't.
    The dialog created by this:
    ADMInt32 item = gGlobalData->gDialogSuite->Modal
    gGlobalData->gPluginRef,
    GetLocalizedString(locDialogCaption),
    0,
    kADMModalDialogStyle,
    DoUIInit,
    NULL,
    kADMTrackEnterBeforeDialogDoesOK
    In DoUIInit :
    _item = gGlobalData->gDialogSuite->CreateItem(dialog, Enums::kItemColorWheel, kADMUserType, &_colorWheel, ColorWheelItemInitProc, NULL, 0);
    In ColorWheelItemInitProc:
    gGlobalData->gItemSuite->SetDrawProc(item, ColorWheelDrawProc);
    gGlobalData->gItemSuite->SetTrackProc(item, ColorWheelTrackProc);
The ColorWheelTrackProc's called the ColorWheelDrawProc doesn't.
I've tried other item types also. They didn't worked too.
The ADM Doc says: ADM dialogs, ADM items, and ADM entries can all have custom draw handlers, which
draw the object on the screen.
    So where is the truth?
    Regards
    Zoltán

Thank you for your notice (twice).
In the future release of this plugin we will use native dialog code for win and mac. Until then we have to use ADM. Right now we have no other choice because of the deadline.

  • Using DSC for SPC on production testers

I need to create a process control application to make sure my testers are in compliance.  I see the labview SPC toolkit was absorbed into DSC.  Basically I need to lock a tester up when it is due for "verification".  At this point an operator would interact with a GUI and run control units to verify the tester is in control.  at this point the tester is released back to production and the operator can proceed as normal.  I'm looking for a central database to keep track of all the data and lock testers when they are due.  These testers are running TestStand.  Does this sound like an application where DSC would be of use?  Any input would be greatly appreciated

I think you need separate licensing for the staging and production.
For staging, i would go for MSDN subscription and use the key from their. Because if you buy regular license then its very much costly for staging farm.

I guess this won't work. GRUB apparently creates a mapping in the BIOS here, but as soon as Linux boots, it doesn't care about what the BIOS says and accesses hardware directly. You should do the following instead:
If you have a USB stick that you can completely erase, use the .img file and copy it to the stick with dd.
If not, you can try to place the files on any filesystem (usb, hard drive, everything) like this:
    * Mount the ISO
    * Copy the *.sqfs files and the isomounts file to the root directory on any filesystem (I think ntfs will not work, but fat32, ext2, ext3, ext4 should)
    * Copy the vmlinuz26 and the initcpio_pata.img files from the /boot directory anywhere (can be the same filesystem as above, but doesn't have to be - we'll assume this is accesible from grub by (hd1,2)/boot below)
Now add the following GRUB entry:
    title Arch Live
    kernel (hd1,2)/boot/vmlinuz26 lang=en locale=en_US.UTF-8 archisolabel=YOURLABEL ramdisk_size=75%
    initrd (hd1,2)/boot/initcpio_pata.img
Above, replace YOURLABEL with the label of the filesystem you copied the isomounts and *.sqfs to. If the filesystem doesn't have a label, give it one.

  • Using SAPRouter for multiple customer installations

    Hello,
can anyone point me in the right direction to find documentation on how I go about connecting all of my companies SAP installations to one central SAPRouter? At the moment we have two SAPRouters, one in Europe and the other here in the US, and I want to consolidate them to make Admin easier.

    Hi,
You need to conslidate the both router entries in single saprouttab file. Also you need to update RFC destinations for SAPOSS & SAPNET_RFC .
You can go through following sap help link

  • Interface for loading data into customer products

I am trying to find if there is any interface for loading Customer products in Install Base apart from entering them manually. I understand that this exists in Oracle Apps version 11.5.7 but I need this for version 11.5.4.

    Hi,
In 11.5.4 , you've to write yourself the loader, using Oracle standard API.
I've performed it, it is working fine.

  • LSMW Method for VD51 Customer-Material Info master data conversion

    Hi,
I am using LSMW for VD51 Customer-Material Info master data creation but can't able to find any standard BAPI, IDOC or Direct input program.
Can anybody tell me any standard way to do it or only the recording method possible for this.
    Thanks
    Dhirendra

    Hi,
I have done this once and used recording method in LSMW. Do the recording from LSMW itself.
    Thanks,
    Jyothi

  • Custom Product Maintain SP?

How to maintain Support Package Stacks information in SLD for a custom product?

    Hi Mamba
There are  ways to register a third party product in the SLD via sldreg or indeed maybe even by adding it manually via the SLD UI
however whether you can list the SP information for this product (indeed based on SAP Netweaver product SP levels) as standard is unlikely
    Best wishes
