Using sub-report field in cross tab row #2

I have a sub-report that pulls a product line description that need to be added to row #2 of a cross tab object. I am unable to drag and dropped and it does not appear in the list under the cross tabs expert.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Edmund,
You cannot add fields from the Subreport to a Crosstab in the Main Report.
If you're trying to add data for multiple rows, you would need to bring those values as part of the Main report's query.

  • Minimise Cross Tab Row spacing

    Hi,
I have created a Cross Tab table using Crystal Report 2008.
On the rows are list of warehouses eg: Warehouse A, Warehouse B etc.
I know I can minimise / change the font size and the Row label size by right click on the field, Size and Position eg: Warehouse A.
However, is there a way to adjustment  the space between each row?  Ie, the white space between the row box that show Warehouse A, Warehouse B etc.
What I am trying to achieve here is to fit 3 cross tab table into one page, while still keeping font size of the row at Arial 8.
Hope I have explained myself well and thank for your help in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for responding.
Is there a way to specify the width of the cell margin instead of totally remove it?

  • Exporting to Excel data only using sub reports in Crytal 9

I am using Crystal 9 verision.
I have .rpt file that used 4 sub reports .In the main report I placed all the sub reports in the(detail section) row  and using the data for some caluculation in the main report to generate report fields.I placed the main report fields in next row( in detail section). However when i export the report .Its generating 5 empty rows  and 3 rows with 0. I have pretty much followed the solution from the article "c2017620" published in BO.
Since i used the sub reports only to get some value for main report calculations .Is there any workaround for the following issue
1.I do not want to print the subreport data when exported to excel data only.
2.how can i get rid of the blank rows
We have a lot of reports which has the same issue and we need to get the reports to work in Excel Data only .The reports works perfect when used in PDF format but its mandatory that we need to give the reports to the client using Data only.
If possible, when responding with your recommendations, please include detailed steps.  It would be very helpful. Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
Of what i gather from ur scenario...this is what i did in one of my reports.
I had to use two subreports and they had to occupy one cell each, in line with other fields.
To obtain that, all the fields required in the subreport i put them into a text box.Therein restricting the fields to the txt box only...
Then import that sub-report as it is.
    It worked for me....
    try out...
All this only if've understood u right...

  • Can You Use A Report Field Value In A Hyperlink?

<p>I have a report field that I would like to be a link to another application. Making a report field a hyperlink to a web page was nice and simple.  However, I was expecting to be able to use the value of the field in the hyperlink something like...</p><p><a href="http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key={AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY">http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key={AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY</a>}</p><p>...where AlertSearch is the table name and ALERT_KEY is the field name.  Is there a way to use a report field in a hyperlink?  Would using a formula allow it to be dynamic?  The goal is to have each row of the report link to a URL with a different parameter.  I can see eventually redoing it as a drill down feature but the detail I need already exists in a separate application.</p><p>Thanks,</p><p>Ed</p>

    Hi Ed.
I believe the conditional formula that you would use (don't just type in the text box - press the button for the formula first).
    "[http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key | http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key]=" + {AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY}
The key is to use the conditional formula feature of the hyperlink feature.Â
    Enjoy!Â

Can I implete it in Crystal Report via fomula or other function?</p><p>Thanks so much for your warm-hearted help!</p><p>Steven</p>

Hello Steven, yes you can compare summary fields, If you are comparing Summary to Target, or vice versa - you can do it within Crystal Reports.
    1. In Suppress conditional formula, create 2 Global variables: CurrentOutlook and CurrentTarger and get the current value.
    2. In Display String formula for Total show ToText(CurrentTarget/CurrentOUtlook) + "%".
For more difficult cases of compariing fields in cross--tab, you may look into http://www.relasoft.net/KB10001.html.

    Hi,
I have a dimension  "Cost center" in DSO on which Hierarchy is defined in SAP BI.
When I developed one cross tab report on this DSO, values for Cost Center fields are displayed in flat mode and not in Hierarchical mode.
I also set group option on this "Cost center" field  in report And in Report menu "Hierarchical Grouping option" also check box ticked for "Sort data hierarchically" and also selected Instance id field.
    how to get this?
**Note: same problem when report is developed on Infocube.*+
    Please help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi Dhana,
I've created a similar report to show matrix WBS x RBS, and WBS are grouped hierarchically.
My report developed in this way:
    - I've created Hierarchical group located in detail section of report. In detail section I've put the row field of cross table.
    - I've suppress all this section: group header, group footer and detail
    - I've created the cross table in Report Footer
    The report show correctly

    Hi,
I'm fairly new in using CR, I wonder if anyone could help me.
I have a cross tab report of projects in rows, activities in columns and hours in table, i need to insert  few new columns that have the sum of hours of the selected activities. Is that possible without breaking the report into sub-reports?

After spending half a day i was able add a new field to each column to does the job, small piece of macro is doing the summation, now i have the problem to set the width of empty fields to zero, can anyone help?
    WhileReadingRecords;global NumberVar sumnum;global StringVar OutStr;
    if {jobs.acts}="Act1" or {jobs.acts}="Act3" then     sumnum:={jobs.hour}else if {jobs.acts}="Act2" or {jobs.acts}="Act4" or {jobs.acts}="Act5" or ... then    sumnum:=sumnum+{jobs.hour}else    sumnum:=0;
    if {jobs.acts}="Act2" or {jobs.acts}="Act5" then    OutStr:=cstr(sumnum);else    OutStr:="";
the result would be like the following table, now i need to set the width of empty fields to zero:
                      Act1         Act2             Act3      Act4      Act5        .....
    Proj1             1            1      2           4            2          1     7

  • Customized Sort for Cross-Tab Row

I have a simple Cross-Tab on my report that needs to be sorted in a static Row order.
My cross tab has 1 Row (Name) and 1 column (Total Sales).
Currently the CrossTab sorts the Name Alphabetically (ASC). But I need to specify a specific order.  I have added a numeric field to my table and I assign a numeric value to the last names so that I might be able to sort the Name Row based on my "CustomSortOrder" numeric field.
Currently it looks something like this:
    A
    B
    C
    D
    E
I want it to be: (numeric value behind the scenes)
    C (1)
    D (2)
    E (3)
    A (4)
    B (5)
    ALL OTHERS (9999)
I cant seem to figure out where I need to set this.  I have tried adding a group to the report. I have tried setting the Report Sort order.  I am out of ideas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jimmy,
Here's what you need to do :
    1) Go to the Crosstab Expert > Remove the existing 'name' field from the 'Row'
    3) Add the numeric field as the 'Row'
    4) Select the Row > Group Options > Options Tab > Customize Group Name Field > Use formula as a Group Name > Click the formula button beside and use this code:
    If {numeric_field} = 9999 then "All Others"
    else
    {Name_Field}

  • SAP Crystal Report - Formula in Cross Tab Report

I have a below requirement in a cross tab report,
    Category          Name          Valu1          Value2    %ge
    A                       Car               40                  50        80
    A                        Bike             30                  60        50
    Total                                       70               110     63.6
    %ge is a formula field and is calculated as value1/value2 * 100
Consider the Total section as a group footer.
In the cross tab report how do I put the formula field for %ge in Total section.

    Vishujain
Crosstabs are very structured and you are limited in what you can do with them. You can do a percentage summary in Crosstabs, but only as a percentage of the row total or the percentage of the column total. You cannot put a formula in the crosstab to do a percentage of a values in seperate rows. Any time I need to perform a function not available in a crosstab, I do a manual cross tab. • Need a multi-level control break report displaying a cross-tab for each ...

I need a multi-level control break report that displays a cross-tab report for each
detail and subtotal. The individual cross-tabs are no problem. There are two issues:
    1) How to get many cross-tabs (thousands) to appear in one report.
    2) How to provide cross-tabs in-line on the multi-level subtotal lines.
    Here is a concrete example.
Suppose the data base contains this table:
    road (
id_number number, -- this is an artificial PK
    city varchar2,
    county varchar2,
    state varchar2,
    length number,
owner varchar2, -- roads may be owned by cities, counties, states, and others
surface_type varchar2 -- the surface type may be gravel, asphalt, concrete, and others
The table is populated with several million records that include every
length of road in a US city.
It is OK to suppose that all the attributes in all the records are not null.
Without the PK, there would be millions of duplicates,
which should all contribute to the summed lengths.
The report I need is like a control break report with a detail line for each
city together with subtotals for each county and state and
a grand total for the US at the end.
However, each detail and total line needs to be a cross-tab report
summing the length over the city, county, state or US
(whichever is called for at that location)
for each combination of owner and surface_type.
so the report would have the following structure:
a city cross-tab for the first city in county 1/state 1
a city cross tab for the last city in county 1/state 1
    a cross-tab for count 1
a city cross tab for the first city in county 2/state 1
a city cross tab for the last city in county 2/state 1
a cross tab for state 1
    a cross-tab for the US
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
This problem comes up because my client's legacy system,
    which is being replaced,
already has such a report (in COBOL).
    Thanks!!!
    Steve
PS, I know one ugly way to do it. Namely, make a variable for each
possible combination of owner and surface. Then code an ordinary control
break report. However, I am looking for something better.

    Hi Jenna_Fire,
According to your description, you have a matrix contains total for each group on each level. Now your requirement is, when you click on any number (data field or total), it will go to the detail report which returns all the detail information of the people
within the group scope. For example, if you click on the total of Active users in United States, it will return the detail information of Active users in New York and Texas. Right?
In this scenario, we should set the parameter (@Country, @State, @City) allow multiple values in both main and detail report. And in Default Value (@Country, @State, @City), query out all distinct values. In the textbox which contains
those total values, when set use these parameters to run the report, we only need to pass the parameters of parent groups. For example, if we click on the total of Active users in New York, we only need to pass Country, State, Status to detail report, and
in the detail report, the City parameter will use all distinct values (Default Values) because we don't pass the City parameter. We have tested this case with sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Create parameter Country, State, City and Status in both main report and detail report. Set both Available Value and Default Value get values from query (Create a dataset for each parameter, use "select distinct [column] from [table]" as query). Set allow
multiple values for parameter Country, State and City in both reports.
    2. In corresponding textbox, pass appropriate parameters in go to report Action.
    4. Filter data in detail report (in where clause or using filters).
    5. Save and preview. It looks like below:

  • Page break not applying when using sub report inside main report

I have a main report inside which there is subreport (using SQL Server 2012). I placed some page breaks inside subreport but they were not working. I read on technet forums that this is a a known issue with SSRS.
One solution I found is to put a table inside main report, then in first row add a rectangle and set its property "Add a page break after" and then add subreport after this rectangle in that table in main report. I did that and now in some cases
it does show sub report on a separate page but sometimes it shows subreport on same page.
Could it be because in some case sub report has no or less data (hence it cannot cover whole page) and in that case it will always show on one page? How can I show empty subreport on a separate page?

I fixed it by clicking both "Add a page break before" and "Add a page break after" in rectangle.

  • Formula for cross tab row

    Post Author: bvandyck
    CA Forum: Formula
The results of a row in a cross tab report need to be split out by percentages and added to the results of other rows.  Each row is an individual, except one row is a combination of individuals.  Certain individuals share in the results of the combination row.   The combination row will be zero after being added to the individuals' rows.  What is the formula for achieving this?

    Hi,
U may create a new formula for that.
There is an option in cross tab expert for new formula.
U may create a formula of your choice and then insert in report.

  • Increase Number of Decimal Points on % summarized field in Cross Tab?

    Hi,
I have a cross tab that I have added a "% of COUNT " summarized field to, but I want to show the percentage to 2 decimal places (DP) and make the rounding more accurate. Currently the rounding means the % values do not actually total to 100%.
I assumed this would be as simple as changing the formatting of the field to increase the 'Decimals' property to 1.00 and the rounding to 0.01.
However when I save the changes are not reflected in my cross tab? It still shows them with 0dp? e.g. 60%
Is it possible to get % values in a cross tab showing to 2dp? e.g. 59.82%
    Thanks

Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with your directly
