Using textfield for signatures

Hi,
I'm using a form on a third party vendor's application.
I have to use a text field to capture a signature as opposed to Adobe's signature field.
When I do this, however, I get some spurious data that appears under the signature.
The text is the same every time, even with other forms.  I'm trying to determine if this is a known issue with Adobe or with the vendor.
thanks,
Paul

OK, I figured it out.
I went to the object window, select Field tab, then Presence and changed  'Invisible' to 'Visible'

  • Using a Pen/Drawing tool for Signature

    I am currently using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  I am in the process of creating a fill-in form for our associates to use.  We would like to include a signature field and want to use just the pen tool for the user to sign off using their mouse.  I have understood this may be possible, but only through a javascript, which I have no experience using.  I appreciate any information.  Thanks.

    No JavaScript is needed or even possible. If you want to use a digital signature field, the user will have to set up their signature appearance beforehand. If you just want a hand-drawn signature, users can simply use the pencil tool, but this probably can't be used as their legal signature. Using the e-signature tool that's available with the EchoSign tools is another possibility and may be the best approach.

  • What is the use of Digital Signature in export release build for AIR applications

    hi Freinds..
    what is the use of digital signature identity  when we release build?

    Well obviously it is an Ant build.
    It looks to just compile/build a web application into a war so you can deploy it where you want to.
    You don't need to edit it every time you are making a new page. It should work for any generic struts web application laid out in the fashion it expects.

    The supported JBoss version for 10.1.2 is JBoss EAP 5.1.2 but I don't think that your issue is caused because of this. Your issue is more of an environmental thing as you are probably getting two different versions getting loaded of class javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest and so correspondingly two different Class objects as the error shows. One reason for this could be if you include any server-specific libraries (in present case the Servlet API JAR which contains the class javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest) of a different version in the /WEB-INF/lib of your web application. Try removing it from there if so and see if that helps.

  • Is there a way to save a fillable form (in Reader) as a static (uneditiable) image and send it for signature without the recipient being able to revise the fields at all?

    Is there a way to save a fillable form (in Reader) as a static (uneditiable) image and send it for signature without the recipient being able to revise the fields at all? I have designed a number of fillable forms and sent them to our clients as Reader extended pdfs to be filled out and sent back. Now, certain clients want to be able to fill in the fields and save the doc as a pdf that can't be tampered with so that they can send it to their own people for signature to be returned to them hand-signed and scanned via email.
    Since the forms have been secured, and my cleints are only using the free Acrobat Reader, how can they save the filled in form as a static pdf to send on for signature? They do not want to have to print, scan and email. Is there an app, plug-in, simple solution to this?
    Thank you,
    Rumor

    The signature WILL work! I've just looked into it more, thank you so much for pointing me in that direction.
    I get it now, it locks the form fields in place after my coworker fills them in and signs it (as the very last step).
    I wish I would have asked on here a full day ago. Would have saved a lot of headache and Googling.
    Thanks again.

  • How do I use 'submit' as complete pdf, and use 'drawn my signature' with required fields?

    I have created a form with required fields, no problem. The form can be completed with adobe reader, and a signature added using Sign > Place signature > Draw my signature, great. But i need the required fields to be checked and then sent by email, so I have add a button and set the action to "Submit a form" and selected "PDF The Complete Document" from the options. I then add the javascript URL - mailto:????@????.com, but now the "Draw my signature" option is greyed out.
    I have asked this question a number of times, and cannot get a proper answer, please can someone help or offer a work around.

    George,
    Thanks for your response, but I am not sure it fully answers my question. I have attached a screenshot to show what I mean - here I have created a simple form, with one required field for some data, using Acrobat XI. If I open the form (I have not reader enabled the form) in Adobe Reader XI, I am able to add a drawn signature, I could save the document then attach to an email to send as you have suggested.
    But, If I now add a Submit button, set the URL to mail it to [email protected] and select "PDF the complete document" as below
    When I open the document in Adobe Reader now, the signature options are all greyed out as you can see.
    Hope this clarifies my predicament

  • I can no longer "send for signature" in Acrobat XI after Echosign update.

    I can no longer "send for signature" in Acrobat XI after Echosign update. Now when I click that option, up comes a box that asks me to enter the recipients email and their name. I did a test and it send it to the recipient without me being able to add signature boxes for the recipient in Echosign. It used to upload the document to Echosign and then I could position the recipients signature boxes before sending to them for their signatures...By the way, I use a Macbook Pro.

    I want to clarify. When I make a document (in my case a real estate form) I click the "sign" tab in Acrobat XI then "get others to sign." A blue box pops up and says "uploading to Echosign." This is normal so far. At this point, before the recent Echosign update, my browser would automatically open up to the Echosign website and show my document that was just uploaded. Then I was able to position signature boxes for the recipients. Now what happens is a box comes up on my screen and just wants me to send the recipient an email. See photo...

  • How can I send out pending agreements for signature en masse on a scheduled basis?

    I'm using EchoSign's Salesforce integration, and I'm trying to create a scheduled batch that will send out a large number of agreements for signature.  EchoSign has some exposed global methods that I'd hoped will help facilitate this, namely AgreementTemplateService.load, which generates an agreement based on an agreement template ID, and EchoSignAPIService.sendDocument, which sends out an agreement that it is provided.  Also, using the background action field on Agreement, it is possible to update an Agreement to 'Send', triggering its send-out.
    I can do all this through code anonymously, or via a custom page at the click of a button, but to do it without user interaction is proving difficult.  Regardless of whether I try to do it via trigger or scheduled batch, the above-mentioned methods fail out in different ways that essentially amount to the same problem (trying to call a future method from a batch, or a callout from a trigger); I've reproduced the error messages here (these are stamped onto the agreement record and displayed when the record is viewed):
    System.CalloutException: Callout from triggers are currently not supported
    System.AsyncException: Future method cannot be called from a future
    You have uncommitted work pending. Please commit or rollback before calling out
    It seems the above methods are intended for use in a custom page, rather than in some scheduled, non-interactive use-case.  Is there any workaround for this, or support for sending out agreements at a scheduled time, rather than at the click of a button?  Thanks!

    I'm not an Adoby guy, hence you may ignore my reply, but Adobe Dynamic Link is obviously not just one way ticket and in most cases works just fine.
    You have already been explained by J-MS and tclark513 how to properly use it and which pitfalls may occur.
    So as to apply an effect onto a whole sequence or a group of clips you need to either nest them in PrPro or pre-compose them in AE. Then just apply an effect (or several ones) onto that composition.
    So, if you nest clips in PrPro, select your nested sequence in the timeline, right-click and choose 'Replace with After Effects Composition'. Done! Your dynamically linked AE composition is in the right place in your timeline and in your Project panel as well. If you can not treat it as an ordinary footage, there are obviously some mistakes in your workflow.
    If you didn't nest your sequence or a group of clips in PrPro before replacing them with AE composition, you may easily do it within AE. Just select all the layers in AE composition and choose Layer -> Pre-compose... (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C) Done! Switch back to your Master comp and apply your desired effect(s)
    You may loose some effects or/and transitions while travelling from PrPro to AE via Adobe Dynamic Link, whereas you don't while travelling back
    (If you start building your AE composition from scratch right in AE and then need to import it into PrPro, DO NOT export one as PrPro project out of AE, but rather choose Adobe Dynamic Link -> Import After Effects Composition... within PrPro)
    P.S. And yes, submit a feature-request so that Adobe will convert 'Transparent Video' into fully functional 'Adjustment Layer'.

  • ? using multiple approval signatures, each locking the fields with collections

    Having fun with LiveCycle to make a "signoff" sheet that will allow a customer to request a "new product" with a PDF form. Once that information is added to our EDR (Eng Design Request) form, I want the form to be forwarded to multiple departments, where each department manager adds their name, date, comments, and then signs the document and forwards it to the next manager. I have it set up with "locking" a "collection fields" with each signature, and that is cool to lock their comments to thier signature, such that someone else can't change their comments without first "clearing" their signature field... just what I wanted, cool,, taking it a step further, I wanted to have the original product data protected such that once signed by one, or more managers (Eng, Sales, President), that the data was locked unless all signatures were cleared. I tried this first by including the product definition fields in every signature's "collection of fields" (set to lock after signing). Thought that would be the ticket, pretty pumped to try it, but once I clear one signature, example the "Eng manager signature" I can go in and mess with the specs and then re-sign the document, and the other signatures are still there, thought I have to clear them, not good,,, 2nd try, I then tried to lock the preceeding "signature field" itself with the next signature (added "sig0" to "sig1" collection) and that worked once, but fell apart on the third approval, as clear one signature openned things right up, when it shouldn't have. Anyway, has anyone found a way to have an approval signoff sheet where once signed the data fields are locked unless all the signature(s) are cleared. I think the programming is not handing multiple locks on the sme field properly, ie all locks on that field must be removed for that field to become editable,, There may be a better way to tackle this..
    PS, I have really learned to be cautious when saving the form out of LiveCyle, then renaming it and save out or "Pro" with read permisions enabled, then see if "Reader" can open it,,, if U R not carefull you get and error that the "document has changed and reader can't save, contact the author,,," that was scary as I had to surf through lots of old revs to find one that would work again, something salvagable without going back to MSWord,,,
    Thanks for your help...

    I think I found a way to get it to do what I want,,,
    1) Use the first signature collection lock to lock only the fields that that person is signing-off on.
    2) The next manager then signs off and locks only his comments and text boxes, as well as the signature of the preceeding manager. This way text fields are only locked by one signature collection and thus to edit anything you have to clear that manager's signature to edit the related text boxes, then to re-sign that section you must clear the other (higher level) signatures to open up the signature field for resigning,,, I think this is providing the protection I want,,, Yea,,, let's get this form back into our stupid ISO system ;)

  • I've recently installed IOS 7.0.3. With the latest automatic upgrade of First Class yesterday the textfields for loggning in disappears upworth. How can I correct this.

    I've recently installed IOS 7.0.3. on my Ipad4. With the latest automatic upgrade of First Class yesterday the textfields for loggning in disappears upworth. How can I correct this.

    HALF-SOLUTION!!!! (Restoring only, basically.)
    Restore the phone via iCloud.com
    1. Go to iCloud.com , and log in.
    2. If you want a back up, make sure you back it up to itunes now!
    3. Now back to iCloud.com - select the device you want. Press "Erase iPhone" (or iPad, iPod whatever).
    You will go through a few steps. Skip the phone number and leave a message, as it isn't lost. Your phone will be restored. No need for plugging in!
    4. IMPORTANT: Just set it up as usual. Language, country blah. But then you'll get to a step where it says something like "This iPhone was erased with iCloud. Log in with the Apple ID you used to erase it". In this case, my Dad's. So please do that. Later on, the phone will ask for an Apple ID to be used for the phone. I put my own one as I didn't want my dads!!!! Lol....
    5. Plug into iTunes and back-up.
    As for updating, I'm still on 7.0.2,,, it ain't working on my phone or itunes!! :(

  • To fix the length of a textfield for user to enter date

    setDocument(new MaskedDocument(initStr, mask, this));
    setText(initStr);
    this.initStr = initStr;
    this.addMouseListener(new java.awt.event.MouseAdapter()
    public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent m)
    this_mouseClicked(m);
    private void this_mouseClicked(MouseEvent m)
    if (getText().equals(initStr)) setCaretPosition(0);
    class MaskedDocument extends PlainDocument
    String mask;
    String initStr;
    JTextField tf;
    public MaskedDocument(String initStr, String mask,
    MaskedTextField container)
    this.mask = mask;
    this.initStr = initStr;
    tf = container;
    void replace(int offset, char ch, AttributeSet a)
    throws BadLocationException
    super.remove(offset,1);
    if (capitalised) super.insertString(offset,
    String.valueOf(ch).toUpperCase(),a);
    else super.insertString(offset, "" + ch, a);
    public void remove(int offs, int len) throws BadLocationException
    if (len==0)
    return;
    // Remove current contents
    super.remove(offs, len);
    // Replace the removed part by init string
    super.insertString(offs,initStr.substring(offs,offs+len),

    public void insertString(int offset, String str, AttributeSet a)

    if (str.length()==0)
    super.insertString(offset,str,a);
    return;
    for (int i=0;i<str.length();i++)
    while ((offset+i) < mask.length())

    else
    i++;
    offset--;

  • When clicking "Send for Signature" how do I get it to open in EchoSign first so I can place signature fields?

    It seems Acrobat Pro XI recently updated and now when I chose to send for signature via echo sign, it just ships the doc off to the recipient willy-nilly with out asking what other fields I may want input, where I may want to sign myself (upon first getting a signature from the other party).  I can of course open the Echo Sign page in my browser, then upload the document, then do all of this, but Acrobat was uploading to Echo Sign and allowing me to skip a few steps.  Are there some preferences I can adjust to change the behavior back to the procedure that was in place previously?

    The above noted problems remain.
    And to add to it, there also seems a problem with having a pdf and then, in acrobat, allowing one to sign the document first via in echosign before it is delivered to someone else, in echosign, where all parties have a paid echosign account.  There doesn't seem to be a way to sign via echosign in acrobat.  Acrobat will route a document to a echosign like system, but it is NOT the full featured system that one sees with an echosign account.  It is as if the two services are completely unrelated.
    One solution is to save the pdf to desktop.  Then, open the web browser and echosign.  Then drag the file from the desktop into echosign, and go from there.  The drag feature works really well, except you cannot drag a pdf file is an attachment to an email into echosign, as that is not supported.  You must first drag it to the desktop, then drag into echosign.
    While this solves the problem this is NOT integrating Echosign with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, as advertised, and it is no different from any other version of Adobe.  Thus, if you are like me and considering buying the latest version of Adobe Pro for use with Echosign, don't as it is a waste of money.  I will update when this issue is fixed.
    BTW - support in Echosign says that it has no influence over how Adobe Acrobat implements Echosign and directed me to contact Acrobat.  The problem, of course, is that it did work well, then Acrobat changed it without notice, doesn't appear willing or able to fix it, explain a workaround, or otherwise acknowledge that a change was made.  This is not a cheap product and the incremental improvements for a mature product do not seem to implemented well.

    Hey there Jantje1,
    It sounds like you are unable to launch iTunes and get an error message instead. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article named:

  • Send for Signature could not send error

    Recently got a plan for Send for Signature, and it was working fine doing a few tests until yesterday.
    Now, whenever I try to upload a file to create a send for signature document within Adobe Acrobat, I get an error saying "Could not Send. An error has occurred. Please try again."
    When I try to access Send for Signature from the web based service, as soon as I click on send for signature, it refreshes the same page and nothing happens.

    @radiant : please let us now is the issue resolved ?
    If not could you please let us know the LoginID you had used to Login into Acrobat\Reader.

  • Adobe Send for Signature vs. EchoSign or eSign

    I just want to know, is the Adobe Send for Signature plan for $1.99 a month the same as having access to the Adobe EchoSign services or the Adobe DC eSign services? I ask because I currently have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and do not want to have to upgrade to Adobe DC in order to use any sort of electronic signature applications. I notice the EchoSign service on Acrobat XI, but the name has since changed to eSign. Please just let me know if I can download the Send for Signature plan and have access to the same features.
    Thanks!
