Using WAD with multiple source systems

Is there a way connect 2 BW sources to a dashboard built in WAD?
We have 2 BW systems in our global company.  We want to create global metrics and the current strategy is to pull all data into 1 BW system and post.
There must be an easier way to pull a query from 1 BW system and another query from a 2nd system and post both results.
Without physically pushing the data into the backend.
Any ideas?
Thx,
Brandon

WAD won't be able to access from a different BW system other than the one you initiated the application from.
If you are using Visual Composer you could have done that, but another solution might be creating Remote Cube.

  • APD using Query with multiple structures as a data source

    All,
I want to set up an automatic process which executes a query and exports it to a shared drive as a csv file. I have tried various options , when I try to use APD to set up the extract, I get an error and this is because the query that I am trying to use has Strucutres in both rows and columns. Hence, I am unable to use this option. I tried RSCRM_BAPI, It works well, but there is an issue with scheduling this in Process chain. I created an event and scheduled this as a job to trigger after "event" as per SAP instructions, but the job does not exist and it is not possible to trigger it through the Process chain unless the variables are hard coded in the query which I do not want to do.
Can any one tell me if there is a way to deal with APD using Query with multiple structures?
Would really appreciate if some one can give me the right solution...
    Thanks

    Hi Tanu ,
APD is an option but its not very good with large amount of data or hiearachies or if you have attributes in you query structure .
One more option for this requirement is use of report program using function module RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA .
This will work fine with multiple structure etc .
There are some overheads with this FM  ex: if amount of data is too much then program will give dump .Solution for that is we call the FM in LOOP by diving amount of data need to be fetched .ex:  we can read data quarter wise.
For using this function module what you can do is write an ABAP program (At SE38 ) .which will call this FM and then write the output into a flat file which you can save at application server (AL11) .From there other system can read it .
To automate this whole process you can further add all the report programs into a process chain (RSPC) which can be schedule as per requirement .
To pass input parameters you can use variants that will pass the values to the report .
Check thi link for sample code :

Hope this will be helpful .

  • Multiple Schema Creation with One Source system Via SLT

    Hi all,
we have BW on HANA environment at our company premises, with SLT server installed
So, my Question is that is it possible to create more than one schema in HANA system with one Source system
As an example, lets say, ECC (Client 601) Source System has been connected to HANA via SLT and created Schema called SCHEMA_1 and again i want to create SCHEMA_2 by connecting same ECC (Client 601) source System.
please help me to short this out?
    Thanks
    Mirana

    Hi Mirana,
Yes, it is possible to create more than one schema in HANA system with one Source system.
Please go through the Official SAP LT document for more details @ page number 13

  • Howto deal with multiple source files having the same filename...?

    Ahoi again.
I'm currently trying to make a package for the recent version of subversive for Eclipse Ganymede and I'm almost finished.
Some time ago the svn.connector components have been split from the official subversive distribution and have to be packed/packaged extra. And here is where my problem arises.
The svn.connector consists (among other things) of two files which are named the same:
    http://www.polarion.org/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/2.0/update-site/features/org.polarion.eclipse.team.svn.connector_2.0.3.I20080814-1500.jar

At the moment makepkg downloads the first one, looks at its cache, and thinks that it already has the second file, too, because it has the same name. As a result, I can neither fetch both files nor use both of them in the build()-function...
Are there currently any mechanisms in makepkg to deal with multiple source files having the same name?
The only solution I see at the moment would be to only include the first file in the source array, install it in the build()-function and then manually download the second one via wget and install it after that (AKA Quick & Dirty).
But of course I would prefer a nicer solution to this problem if possible. ^^
    TIA!

OK, I've filed a bug report and have also included a suggestion how to solve this problem.

  • SLT Replication for the same table from Multiple Source Systems

    Hello,
With HANA 1.0 SP03, it is now possible to connect multiple source systems to the same SLT Replication server and from there on to the same schema in SAP HANA - does this mean same table as well? Or will it be different tables?
    My doubt:
Consider i am replicating the information from KNA1 from 2 Source Systems - say SourceA and SourceB.
If I have different records in SourceA.KNA1 and SourceB.KNA1, i believe the records will be added during the replication and as a result, the final table has 2 different records.
Now, if the same record appears in the KNA1 tables from both the sources, the final table should hold only 1 record.
Also, if the same Customer's record is posted in both the systems with different values, it should add the records.
How does HANA have a check in this situation?
Please throw some light on this.

    Hi Vishal,
i suggest you to take a look to SAP HANA SPS03 Master Guide. There is a comparison table for the three replication technologies available (see page 25).
For Multi-System Support, there are these values:
    - Trigger-Based Replication (SLT Replication): Multiple source systems to multiple SAP  HANA instances (one  source system can be connected to one SAP HANA schema only)
So i think that in your case you should consider BO Data Services (losing real-time analytics capabilities of course).

  • Creating multiple source systems one logical system

    Hi,
The requirement is to create two source systems using same logical name and different RFC connections to ECC?
We wanted to do some regular activities using one source system and some drill down activities using different source system.
I am getting error when I try to create second source system "source system already exist"
    Please advice.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I dont think it is possible to create multiple source systems in a sinle logical client. You have to create multiple clients and you can connect to BI system by different RFCs.
    Hope this helps.....

  • Modeling the Data model when multiple source systems

    Hi gurus,
i have a scenario where i am getting data from multiple source systems all R/3 but from different locatins.
my doubt is if i have to do reporting on the data available.
    1. do i have to build seperate infocubes for each source systems or build seperate data designs for each source system .
    2. How can i consolidate the different source sytems data into one and report sensibly as well as without loosing the source system identification.
    thanks and regards
    Neel

    Hi all,
thanks for your focus, ya i am also thinking of have a flexible solution where in i can do it easily as well as we don't have much of complexcity, but wanted to try different options as well so that we can go for best one.
I thought of multiprovider at first when RafB suggested, and i agree with you as well Lilly, that data volume will be a problem, so keeping all this in view i want to build a solution where in it will be sensible as well as not confusing in reports ( i mean clear and readable reports)
    [email protected]
please kindly forward any documents which might be helpful for me in this scenario

  • How to create a blu-ray disc with multiple source files

    Hello,
How is it possible to create a blu-ray disc, AVCHD recordable DVD with multiple source files from Final Cut Pro 10. Is it possible to create a menu with several chapters corresponding to the sequences (source files)?
Thank you in advance for your support.

Assume you're talking about using the Create Blu-Ray batch template. It's not possible to do with multiple source filles. But if I understand your objectives, you could pretty much get what you think want – discrete movie segments on a single disk with navigation.
The way I'd approach it is by making multiple projects in FCP and then copying the finished versions into a new project, separated by gaps. (You could also use compound clips but I'm not a fan except for very short sequences, which is why I'm suggesting the copy route.) Then export and bring into Compressor.
In Compressor mark your chapters at the gaps between your individual sequences. Then choose the AVCHD option in job actions.
Bear in mind that you'll have to keep the recording time under roughly 30-35 minutes @a5 Mbts/sec
    Good luck.

  • Transport: Multiple Source Systems in QA

    Hi gurus,
I have developed in BW Dev Transfer Rules starting from one R/3 Dev Source System.
Now I need to transport BW Dev settings into BW QA system, where I have 4 R/3 QA Source Systems.
In RSA1 --> Transport Connection --> Conversion (F8) I can introduce only one record to map Dev Source System with QA Source System.
How can I define that the single Dev Source System must be translated into several QA Source System ?
    Is it possible ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Riccardo.

    Hi,
Import 4 times by having Different conversion Each time.
    And another thing:
Have you tried to create 4 Conversions at a time with same Source of source system and importing with these 4 conversions at a time. Even I too feel that it would not work. But you should try atleast once.

  • With out source system creation we have transported all the flow

    Hi all,
With out source system creation in Quality we have transported all the data flow
now is there any option to map the source system to transported flow.
    Regards
    Kiran Kumar

    Hi,
you can reimport the same TR again once the mapping is done in BW from source system.
If you have left the TR's in the import queue of BW for later import then you can reimport it again.
    This will go correctly.
In qualtiy to do the mappings you will need development authorization.
    Thanks

  • Transformation issue while connecting multiple source system of same type..

    Hi,
I'm working on APO-BW integration project. I want to connect BW QA & BW PROD to APO QA. I've already connected BW QA to APO QA & it is fetching data correctly. RFC part & other BASIS part is already taken care of. I've done export datasource (for mater data, cube etc) in BW PROD & replicated in APO QA. All BW PROD datasources are imported as RSDS (7.X) in APO QA.
Now my question is how to make sure the transformations will take source system as BW PROD too? I want 2 datasources (one from BW QA & other from BW PROD) to connect to same inforprovider in APO. I've transported 7.x datsource from APO DEV to APO QA environment along with transformations. In conversion of logical system names in APO QA I've given source system -BW DEV & target system - BW QA. So the transformation automatically takes data source as BW QA. It doesn't take source-system - BW DEV & target system - BW PROD as it conflicts previous setting.
Is only option that I need to manually maintain transformation from BW PROD datasource or there's another better alternative?

    HI,
You are getting multiple IDOCs into BPM. But output you are getting one message right? IF so, your N:1 Mapping is not done correctly.
i.e your target message type should have occurence of 1..n and also the interface mapping. Closely obsever the N:1 mapping done in the BpmPatternCollectMerge.
Also go to SXMB_MONI->PE and check the Technical Details to make sure that, you are getting multiple IDOCs and you are executing the N:1 Transformation step correctly.
Also in the N:1 Mapping, check out the context you used. Make it root .  Then test the mapping independently in the Integration Repository.
    Hope it helps,

  • Creating Training manuals using FM with multiple SME's authoring

    Greetings from Norway!
I am currently considering switching from an InDesign/InCopy workflow over to TC2. Our manuals are heavily dependent on SME input and participation, in fact they write a good deal along with the tech writers.
Is is possible to have SME contribution using Frame if only the techwriters actually have Frame on their workstations? I have read alot and see that if you use WebDAV you can save the Frame file as a .xml file. Can the SME's write content in an xml format and then have the tech writers import it into the long document in Frame?  If my SME's want to write a new chapter outline for me to follow, is this possible with WebDAV?
To get 2 licenses in Norway is going to cost us $4,500, so I want to make sure that I can still have the SME input without any problems. We have been using InCopy for this purpose, but are having too many little problems and I would like to move towards Frame.
ANY input on working with Frame with multiple authors, some of which are not using Frame on their workstations, would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi, Kathryn:
If you're currently outputting your manuals from InDesign - whether to paper or PDF - there's probably no immediate or compelling need to convert to FrameMaker.
You'll have the same problems with SMEs maintaining strict style usage, whether in InCopy or Word for import into InDesign or FrameMaker, and you'll have the same problems with SMEs working in FrameMaker directly, even if your company should win a FrameMaker site license in a lottery.
Even in departments whose members are experienced technical writers, maintaining rigorous style requirements isn't automatic or easy.
One key reason to consider the Technical Communications Suite is its ability to create help systems. A related reason is its ability to create single-source material for reuse and/or multiple outputs; FrameMaker can work with content management systems, XML, and DITA. All of these are not trivial to implement.
RoboHelp can work with Word files, if help systems ability is important to you. FrameMaker wouldn't be necessary.
Though InDesign can work with XML, it currently isn't suited to the kind of XML authoring that FrameMaker is. It's not easy to author for XML in InDesign or InCopy, as it is in FrameMaker, and even in FrameMaker, it's not without problems. InDesign can't do DITA.
It might be worthwhile to create a small-scale trial in which your SMEs work in Word or InCopy, or some other application whose output maintains style names. Import that material into you InDesign templates, then analyze the problems.
One major problem will undoubtedly be inconsistent tagging of material with proper styles. A close second will be attempts by the users to apply custom formatting (overrides) to the content, rather than using styles. Other problems include inconsistent use of lists of items, and inclusion of items in running text.
If you can define a simple set of styles and requirements that the SMEs agree to follow, importing their material to any style-conscious application will require less manual effort.
If the SMEs will need to revise material that the technical writers send back, you'll want to experiment with round-tripping from your publishing application via RTF or Word file format and reimporting from whatever editing application the SMEs use. If SMEs will agree to edit in Acrobat, this is one way to avoid the inevitable round-tripping artifacts, though it requires manual attention from the technical writers.
Using a single-flow layout - "single story" in InDesign terms, "single text flow" in FrameMaker terms, rather than the kind of discontinuous graphic-designer's visual layout of pasted page objects and separate stories, will make it easier to reflow revised content. This is the usual way that FrameMaker users work. InDesign's improved long-document tools make it possible to work the same way.

  • How to use OSD with Multiple DPs to remote locations

    Hi
My SCCM 2012 R2 Primary site is located on my corporate office but i need to use OSD for multiple branch locations in different subnets.in My Organization there is network level DHCP server rather than Windows DHCP...
What would be the complete configuration in this case .. can some one provide the steps..
    Shailendra Dev

    Hi,
The best way to forward the PXE boot requests to the DP/PXE server is to use IP Helpers in the routers/switches. I assume that the branch locations are without a DP. You can use DHCP scope options in the DHCP servers as well but you will end up with problems
when PXE-booting machines that run UEFI becuase it is not the same bootfile used and it is not really supported.
Maybe standalone media could be an option where you have the most of the TS on a USB stick/Drive.

  • Transaction Data from multiple source systems

    Hi BW,
I want to load transaction data from two source systems: SQ1CLNT100 QA and SQ1CLNT200 Training client. into one BW system. What is the best practice, do I need to create another data structure or can I mix the data for QA and training in one data structure and separate them with authorisation?
Please someone should help me out with the best practice on this.
    Thanx.

    Hi Dan,
Do you mean use 0LOGSYS as authorisation relevant InfoObject?
Dont you think that if I copy bid from one source system and use it in another, the two bids will have the same GUID? if that is possible, then I may be faced with the problem of data override. Please advice further.
    Regards.

  • BEx Integration with different source systems

    Hi All
I know we can create BEx querys on top of an infoprovider. But instead of storing data into BW and creating reports using BEx tools can we integrate BEx with the other source systems.  Like Business Objects tool which can be integrated with different sources. My client wants to know whether we can integrate with BEx for the following
Support data source -- SAP BW
    Support data source -- Oracle
Support data source -- MS SQL Server
Support data source -- MS Access
Support data source -- MS Excel
Support data source -- ASCII Text files
    Support data source -- XML/XSD
Support data source -- Web Services
Support data source -- SAP R/3
Support data source -- BO Universe
Thanks for letting me know your opinions

    Hi,
in theory you can. You will still have a virtual provider on top of your Infosource which will be connected to your datasource; thus you'll have to create the structures; you'll have to load master data as well... so not so nice solution if you think that at this stage, the storage will be the less of your costs....
How are you going to deal with R/3 data?? I mean a great advantage of BW is really when you have an R/3 behind...
I'd rather consolidate all these disparate datasources using the Visual compsoer which can get this data out of nearly an datasource and merge them in one single report; in theory again you could implement all BEx functionalities but at which cost and effort??
Weird that a customer is asking such a question because it is usually the other way around: use SAP BW data in another front-end... by the way SAP is going to acquire BO soon....
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.
