Validation failure message showed twice

In "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" ( http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm ) there is an example showing customized validation message: http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/images/t068.gif .
My question is simple: why do we need to read the same message (Salary ... ) twice and is there any method to set validation popup title (which is bold) by myself?

You can do it by creating your own customized error handler as documented in the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/web_adv.htm#CIHHBEEJ]Fusion Developers Guide. The bold text (the title) is what is returned from getDisplayMessage(). The detail part is from getDetailedDisplayMessage();

How to get the handle of the Validation Failure Message Popups.

I'm using Jdev 11.1.2.0
I have added validation rule(less than system date) and failuremessage("date should not after currentdate") on the date field in EO.
when I enter greated than the sysdate in date field in page, I'm getting validation failure message in a popup with ok button. its working good.
but when i click on the popup ok button, the focus should go the date field again and it is higlighted.
So, how to get the handle of the popup's ok buton? and how to highlight the datefield after clicking the popup's ok button?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

but i had answer for your part of the question,
if the condition go off false means you force the cursor into date field. this is can be done using 'javascript'. unless using script you can't do that. ADF doesnt provide any force focusing feature.

Trying to understand a WS-I validation failure
I'm trying to understand the following WS-I validation failure message. I'm sure I'm making a basic mistake but I can't find an example of the use case where an xsd is imported. Can someone point out my error?

Sorry it's taken me a bit of time to respond, but please find below a run-down of the WS-I related problems I spotted in your WSDL document. The first few are related to the import error you saw, and there's a few others that I'll also discuss. Apologies in advance if you've already spotted and corrected those.
I'll use line numbering based on the formatting of the WSDL and XSD that you supplied.
BP2417 (the one you asked about)
The line number in the error is a red herring. There are two problems here:
- WSDL document, line 29: You're using the XSD type string unqualified - it should be xsd:string.
- WSDL document, lines 8 and 13; schema, lines 3 and 4: The namespaces you're using don't match. Either change the namespaces in the schema to be http://Messages.xsd, or change the namespaces in the WSDL to http://www.bret.org/S3test/Messages.
BP2202
You should declare UTF-8 or UTF-16 encoding when creating WSDL or schema documents. The easiest way to do this is to go to Tools|Preferences, and set JDeveloper's default encoding to either UTF-8 or UTF-16.
BP2032
WSDL document, line 26 and 43: The name attribute of the fault should read SigFault, not sigFault, as WSDL is case-sensitive.
WSDL document, line 44: You should use a soap:fault element, not a soap:body element, to bind a fault, thus:

WSDL document, lines 17 and 20: Message parts in a document-bound service like this one should reference XSD elements and not complexTypes. What you need to do is define two elements in your messages schema whose types are SigReplyMessage and SigRequestMessage respectively, and then reference those elements from the WSDL.
WSDL document, line 38: The value of the parts attribute should be Keys to match the name of the part child of the RequestSignature.
WSDL document, line 41: The value of the parts attribute should be SigAndExp to match the name of the part child of the ReturnSignature.
WSDL document, line 44: The value of the parts attribute should be faultMessage to match the name of the part child of the SigFault.
BP2115
WSDL document, lines 17 and 20: The names of the elements should be sigReplyMessage and sigRequestMessage and not SigReplyMessage and SigRequestMessage, again because WSDL is case-sensitive.
WSDL document, line 30: The element attribute of the part references xsd:string, which is not an element but a complexType. You'll need to add an element declaration to your schema, which is of type xsd:string.
I've included corrected versions of your WSDL and schema below, I hope this helps. I also note you've posted a few other messages related to WS-I and WSDL, I hope I've managed to cover those in this message too.

Clear/empty entry of field after validation pattern message
Can anyone help me please with the following:
Now when user fills a field a validation pattern message shows when entry is not according to validation. BUT...the entry remains.
Do you know how to remove the entry from the field after clicking OK on the validation pattern message box?I don't know how to do that, but I think it would be user abuse to clear out the field. If I mistype a date or an SSN for example, I don't want to have to type it all over again, just correct my mistake.

Validation Error Message in OBPM 10GR3 Presentations

I have a presentation which has some fields as REQUIRED Fields... For e.g. the From Date field is required...
I select "YES" for the Required option in the properties tab for that field in the presentation and also put a Validation Error Message which says " From Date Required".
I thought that the Validation Error Message would show up when the date is no selected or filled..
But instead the name of the variable used showed up.. i.e. TestObjectFromDate..
Why is that so?
How can I make the Validation Error Message show up instead?No this sounds odd, but you might find it's easier not to use the "Required" property for BPM Object presentation text fields.
Try making the Submit button on the form invoke a method (instead of the default "submit" action). In the method, try this:

I have a litle app that validates one Portuguese Number (NIF).
The purpose is create a textbox where the user put the number and then when press tue button, it validate then.
I've tried do that with the validation, with a plsql function returnig boolean... it works fine when the number is wrong...
the error message was fine... how can i implement a sucess message...
Sugestions are welcome.
Another question.... How can i costumize the standard error message?

Yes that would work. Because you're catching all of the incorrect entries with a validation, the PL/SQL process will never run unless you have the validation is TRUE. This means the process code can always complete successfully because the validation already did the work. So the process need be only one line:
NULL;
Then create the success message as you like and test it. Keep in mind that a process success message may look different from a validation failure message. You might have to modify the look a bit to get them consistent if that's necessary.

If you have already created an iCloud account on a Mac or and iOS device you can sign into it in the Windows iCloud Control Panel. However, if you have not previously set up an iCloud account you cannot do so on a Windows PC, only on a Mac or iOS device.

One Question Quiz. Passing Score shows in Results; Failure message displayed
I have a one-question quiz at the end of my SCORM1.2 course. "Do you want to mark this course Completed in the LMS?" yes/no.
If user clicks No, results screen shows "0" score. But Retake button takes them back to Slide 5 (a content slide), not to the Quiz question. If user clicks Yes, results screen shows "100" score but displays the Failure message, not the Success message.
I have tried all types of settings, including not showing a Results slide, and cannot get this to work. On our LMS, it seems if I allow backward movement in the Quiz Preferences (which i need in order for the back buttons to work throughout the course), the "Yes" score (100%, course complete) is not passed to the LMS.
Can anyone provide guidance on what settings I should be using for Quiz Properties and Quiz Preferences?Hi Lilybiri,
Indeed, there was a click box on Slide 5 that I had not de-selected for "Include in Quiz". I just republished and put on our staging server, and the quiz is now working properly. (I hid the results slide because it seemed sort of dumb for a one-question quiz. It works fine without displaying results.)

JSF Validation failure causes entered values to be lost
I've created a JSP that has required="true" and a requiredMessage on several elements.
If any one element on the page fails it's validation on submit(ie was left blank), when the screen is redrawn all the entered values have disappeared.
This is obviously not going to be acceptable to a user as there may have been 5 valid entries and one mistake, and they now have to retype every entry.
Can anyone suggest why the form might be being cleared like this?I'm using reference implementation 1.2 04-b10
I've tried using an implementation of validator and it makes no difference.
It's the only example of an inline validator other than required, which seems to work ok.
I've got around the problem for now by doing the validation in the method called when the user hits submit. It's not quite right as if the 'required' validation fails they get mutliple messages showing these failures, but the codeRef validation doesn't even fire until all the other validation passes. -

I need to send success or failure message(i.e. 1 or 0) to BAPI which has been called below sql query action block in transaction
Here in SAP, i have created on BAPI with one import parameter and one export parameter.
In the sql query action block, it insert records in the database table. If it fail or success, that message(numeric value 1 or 0) has to send to SAP program through BAPI.
I have created a SAP ABAP program which sends message to MII Message listener through RFC then in the process rule message it will call transaction, in transaction, sql query will insert records into database table. if it success or fail, it will pass to BAPI. And i calling that BAPI in the same SAP ABAP Program to show in the output screen.
Here the issues, i am not getting the value from BAPI which has send by the transaction in MII.

Failure messages to be displayed in BAM and ESB Portal

As per requirement, I need to display all resumable/Non-resumable messages in both BAM and ESB Portals.for resumable messages,admin will resubmit the messages from ESB Portal.Please let me know how to achieve this requirement.I have a project requirement, where I have to show all failure messages(resumable\non-resumable) in BAM and ESB portal.
Order Creation Process:
1. Developed Main Orchestration and exposed as a webservice for front end client. There are sub -process orchestration involved
2.Front end client will consume Main Orchestration Service and submit the data
3.There are multiple sub -process orchestration are involved after receving the data from Main Orchestration
4.while executing Order Process, if any error occurs in any of the orchestration then those failure's to be displayed in BAM and ESB Management Portal
5. Based on the Order ID End User will need to search failure message details from BAM
6. The failure message will be resubmit from ESB Management Portal for further process.
Please let me know your thoughts on how to provide the solution for above approach -
"Multiple Validation errors" message when creating new project in FCPX
As a test I have now managed to change the file format from older quicktime file to .m4v and import into FCPX. I had to use Handbrake to change the file format to .m4v. If a free software can do this then why can't the $300 FCPX - and allow me to import directly? This would save me MANY hours of extra work!
But then, when I try and edit this - first trying to create a new project I get the message "Multiple validation errors occurred" The same message even if I try and custon settings rather than use the default
Does this mean that after all the work and hours it took me to tarnscode the file format, import and then render etc - I will be unable to use FCPX - to edit this footage?Update on trying to create a new project - and getting "Multiple Validation errors" message
I quit FCPX and tried to use iMovie to make a clip to send to you. Decided against this - and so I opened FCPX again
To my surprise there were now over ten projects - as every attempy had appeared! This is bizarre - why did they not show up when I tried to create them first?
So, I had to delet most and just use one. This appears to be working as a project and is allowing me to edit clips into it.
It will be a reall bummer though if I have to do this every time I need to create a new project! -
Hi I am having iphone 4S. Today while connecting to my laptop for regular update, my phone started rebooting and message showed error in rebooting. Now even though i connected to laptop which has internet connection, i phone OS booting still not completed
I have factory reset my phone twice.. I have disabled iCloud settings.. I looked up possible downgrading options.. which isn't possible. I feel as if my iPhone 4 was offered the update so I was forced to get another phone
