Validation warnings with 'Are you Sure' option

I have a page validation that is being checked once a submit is pressed. If the validation process fails, I want a pop-up window to ask, "Are you sure you still want to save this record?" with a Yes/No option instead of just a failure. Can this be done in HTML db or do I have to have some custom javascript to make this work in this fashion?
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff,
By design, processes will not fire if one or more validations fail on page submission. It seems like what you're trying to do is define a page validation, have that fail normally, but then somehow intercept that with a JavaScript confirmation and if necessary, execute the on-submit processes as if nothing happened. That's not possible.
Instead of defining some exotic JavaScript to do this, why don't you just place these elements on your page. You could have an item conditionally display if errors occurred during validation (using Condition "Type Inline Validation Errors Displayed"). Just prompt the user if they want to proceed with saving the data, and then based upon this value, conditionally execute your validations.

when i go to sync my apps with my computer it tells me  ''are you sure you want to sync apps ? all exsisting apps and there data on (iphone) will be replaced with the apps on this itunes library'' does this mean all my data will be lost if i continue ?

Regarding your broken, previously authorized computer, here's how that works:
You would authorize your new computer -- maybe you've done that already.  Then you will have two computers authorized.  Apple allows you to have up to five computers authorized at any time.  If you get to five, you can then go to your account details in iTunes and remove all authorizations.
Bear in mind this is not saying you can synch to more tham one library.  Razmee209 and gdgmacguy's comments above are correct.  But if Apple only allowed you to authorize one computer at a time, then having a broken computer would mean you could no longer use your Apple ID with iTunes.

  • After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine:Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on? the WD disk has mounted??

After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine: "Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on?"  I've reformatted in Disk Utilities...not sure what I did wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "booted" from it.
If the Mac OS is installed on the external drive, then it's possible to start up from it, just as you do from your internal drive. Please open the Startup Disk preference pane in System Preferences, and verify that your internal drive is selected as the startup disk.
Assuming that's the case, then it may be that your TM settings have been corrupted. Turn off TM, then move or delete the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist. Turn TM back on, recreate your settings, and try again.

  • Please move the 'SEND' and 'SPELL CHECK' options away from each other, and when sending, ask the question, 'Are you sure you want to send now?' Thanks

The send and spell check options are next to each other. I can not tell you how many times I hit the send button be accident. When sending, and question of 'Are you sure you want to send now?', should be asked.
    Thanks

Actually, unless something has changed, you can set Thunderbird to run an automatic spell check when you click Send. That might be your best workaround.
Tools menu > Options > Composition panel > Spelling mini-tab
(You can display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key)
It might also be possible to customize the toolbar, but I think this might be safer.
Regarding a general confirmation for sending, I noticed some add-ons for that, but I don't have any personal recommendations.

  • Where is the option are you sure you want to buy?

Where is the option "are you sure you want to buy?"

Yes, i found it there. In fact; a logic place...
The second q. means the way you load upo; dirtectly from the menu share to you tube of first make a QT and from there to the sky.
I quess there must be no differance but you never know...
    Thanks again.

My safari is blocked. When I press a window comes up sasking Are you sure you want to submit this form again? and it will not allow me to cancel or submit

    These are your options:
    1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
Advantages: Always works, if library damage is causing the problem and the backup is intact.
Disadvantages: Impossible if you don't have a backup. All changes made since the backup are lost.
    2. Repair or rebuild the library. Be sure to back it up first.
Advantages: May solve the problem with no loss of data.
Disadvantages: May fail. May take a long time if the library is large.
    3. Scavenge the library with a third-party application called "iPhoto Library Manager," which you can find in a web search. From the application's menu bar (not the iPhoto menu bar), select Library ▹ Rebuild.
Advantages: All images should be preserved.
Disadvantages: All books, calendars, and slideshows will be lost.

  • HT1178 I bought Time Capsule specifically to back up my computer at work. Only my computer. I completed the steps the best of my knowledge but I got the message, "This device & its network services will be temporarily unavailable. Are you sure you want to

I bought Time Capsule specifically to back up my computer at work. Only my computer. There are many computers within my department. I completed the steps the best of my knowledge but was unsure of which option to click. I clicked "I want to create a new wireless network". At the onset the instructions said I needed to connect with an ethernet cable, which I did. But I have no desire to connect to the internet, print from it, or have others access. I did deselect guest options, and I did put in passwords. But at the end of the process I got the message, "This device & its network services will be temporarily unavailable. Are you sure you want to continue."
I was worried this would shut me down and I wouldn't be able to continue to work. I don't necessarily need to connect wirelessly. It is connected via ethernet cable from machine to device.
Can you advise me how to continue? Did I choose the wrong options?

I bought an external hard drive called "Seagate Backup Plus" From the Apple store to back up everything on my computer and anything new on my computer. It came with Time Machine. The external hard drive disk had 1 or 2 Terabytes. Time Machine says "next backup: When disk is connected." "Oldest backup: July 2, 2014." & Also "Latest back July, 2."

  • "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" on saving Publishing Page

    Hi all,
we're getting some ... interesting ... behavior in IE.
    Setup:
We have a page layout based on some content type. Both contain (besides other fields) a DateTimeField which is shown in edit mode.
When a user clicks "Save" after editing the page, he is presented a modal dialog saying "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" with the options to "stay" or "leave".
When a user clicks "leave" the following behaviour is as expected (changes are saved, page is working). When a user clicks "stay" he sometimes gets prompted for conflicts.
As soon as the DateTimeField is removed from the page layout (but is kept in the content type) there are no more such pop-up dialogues.
This happens only in IE 9/10/11. FF and Chrome work fine.
Do you have any suggestions, on how to fix this? Not the conflicts part, but the fact that this dialogue box is shown at all.

    Internet Explorer
I already tried seeting IE (Security) Settings back to deafault and disabling add-ons. It did not help.
The site is accessed via https and is in the Trusted Sites list in IE.

    Hi SomeTallGuy,
According to your description, my understanding is that the model dialog appears after you click Save.
    My suggestion as below:
    1. Set the Internet Explorer Security Setting to low.
    2. If you have add your site to trusted sites, try to delete all the browser data, such as cookie, temporary files to test whether it works.

  • Are you sure you want to send a form again?  Safari

How do I stop the pop-up "Are you sure you want to send a form again?" This pops up when I am trying to go back to a previous screen. Does it enough that it becomes annoying. I thought the new upgrade would stop it... it didn't.

I have the same thing... and yes, with me it's a bug.
When the popup comes on screen, I choose Send or the other option. Then it is carried out, but the popup remains on screen. I can only get it to disappear if I restart Safari.
Does anyone have the same problem and if so, what can I do about it?

  • How Do I Turn Off "Are you sure you want to open it" Alerts?

I create websites and frequently download web pages to work with.
When I open a downloaded web page in Safari I get an alert such as
"index.html is a web application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?"
How do I disable that behavior?
    Thanks,
    DAN

Select the box where you see: Open "safe" files after downloading.
I am not sure about the OP but this is definitely not what I want. I do not want anything to open automatically. I just want items downloaded to my desktop (for me to open later) without having to tell Safari to do this twice or having to remove warnings when I do decide to open downloaded files.
Is there a way to turn off this silly Apple protection for all applications/files?

  • Any way to cancel "Are you sure you want to restart" message?

In other versions of OS X, holding down the option key when selecting an option to restart or shut down the computer allowed the user to bypass the annoying "Are you sure…" message. This seems to have stopped working in Lion. Is there any way to bypass these messages? Did the modifier key get changed? There's nothing wrong with the keyboard's option key. The "bypass" works as it should in Snow Leopard.

Weird: after consistently NOT working for months, now that I've talked about it publicly, it has apparently been shamed into working as it should.

  • An "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SEND" function must be added to iphone

why is it that there is no "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SEND" function as far as text message? The funtion is really needed and could be very useful when it comes to checking for gramatical errors (& more importantly) making sure the text is going to the right person

Ok captain obvious....u make a valid point...however at times we all makes mistakes when were in the moment and just text and send....the function wouldn't have to be a "definate" I feel just having the option to turn on or off a "are u sure you want to send" feature could be useful to some people...

  • When ever I leave a site a drop down box appears " Are you sure you want to send form again?" " To re-open this page Safari must resend a form, this may sesult in duplicate purchases, comments, or other actions". It does it twice every time? *** is this?

When ever I leave a internet site an Apple drop down box appears that says,
" Are you sure you want to send form again?", " To Re-open this page Safari must resend a form. "This action might result in duplicate purchases, comments, or other actions".
The box has two options,... "Send", or " Don't send",...
I always hit the don't send button.
It always drops down twice now when it used to only drop down once.
*** is going on with that?

If anyone has a way of stopping Safari from doing this I'd appreciate the "how to".
I am on a website that has phpbb installed and when I do a search for new posts it shows them to me.
When I click on a post that I wish to read it shows me that post but if I hit back the server is set up to not allow multiple searches within a short time and the page returns "you cannot submit another search in such a short time".
If I understand what you're describing, that's a function of the phpbb forum, not something Safari is doing or can change.
A suggestion: Instead of just clicking on the posts you want to read, I would Command-click to open them in new tabs. Your page of search results will remain open in the first tab, so when you're finished reading the posts, you can close their tabs and return to your list of search results.

  • How do I eliminate the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?" when I close Firefox?

When I try to close Firefox, an error box pops up with the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?" I click on "Cancel 1 remaining download." (The other option is "Don't exit.") But the next time I try to close Firefox, the message pops up again. What can I do?

You can check the Downloads folder in the Downloads Manager (Library; Show All Downloads) for unfinished downloads.
