Values are aggregated at query end hence key fig gives incorrect output

Hi expert,
Support team have faced the issue at query level. The system is migrated from 3.5 to 7.0.
We have 3 key fig as A1, A2, A3 and it contains zero as well as non-zero values.
We need to ignore zero values and only non-zero values should be considered to calculate the KF.
Please suggest.

It's ok supress and delete the records which have zero KF values.
there is no purpose in having them in the cube if you don't use them for the reporting (cumulation of the all the records)
as far the facts are empty in the report, neither they help in decision making nor they add any significance.
So why just have the data for characteristics which doesn't have facts (key figure values). use Zero elimination technique as i said.
it will also reduce the datavolume in the cube.

Hi,
I have converted a Key Figure into a characteristic. Let's call the new characteristic Z_NUMCHAR.
When Z_NUMCHAR is displayed in the BEX Query (HTML), it is left justified.
I have concatenated additional SPACES to the front of Z_NUMCHAR. However when Z_NUMCHAR is displayed, the spaces are removed.
I have also tried concatenating a letter to the front of Z_NUMCHAR and then a string of spaces, but the spaces are removed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to right justify a characteristic?
My worst case solution is to add leading underscores. _____5482.214
But would rather see it look like a Key Figure. 5482.214

Lead time values are not appearing in the report for current year.

Iam checking a report in production. where lead time values are displayed as 0 for 1 key figure lead time3 (w/0 dim) . i found there is a formula for this it shows like NODIM ( 'Lead Time 3' ).and there is a value for cal.lead time
how can i get values in the report.

Hi,
Although your question is not clear, I understood that the formula built on that KF is NODIM. Basically it means, units of measurement is not considered when calculating.
Eg: 5 Minutes + 5 Kilograms = 10
You please try to analyze your KF by the above logic. Then you would be able to figure out why the data is not appearing in the report..

Bex report values are changing

Hi experts,
In the cube we are having a qty field value as 0.652, but in the bex report it is showing as 1. And if the value is 0.4152 it is showing as 0.
How to get the exact values those are 0.652 and 0.4152 to the bex reports.

The Values are getting rounded off for the key figure ... In the tab for key figures use display key figure decimal places upto three ...u may keep display as one digit keep the decimal part also then it wont be rounded... hope it helps

Displaying Key Fig values differently with german & english logins

HI,
our BW Datamodel, reports etc have been built on a german system, i.e. with german language (DE) login. Hence Key Figs in the BEX Reports are displayed as 12.345.678,000 Euros for example. We need to make the same reports available in English, i.e. with an english language login (EN). The KeyFigs need to look like 12,345,678.00. How can I achieve this?

Hi Sebastian,
You can do this in the User profile settings for the User.
Goto System Menu - > User Profile -> Own data . In the Defaults tab you can change the Decimal notation.

To respond to your latest question....
You may already know this, so bear with me...
Non-cumulatives have an "incoming" and "outgoing" reference. Meaning, for a the record to be stored it takes an "addition" and "subtraction" to calculate the value. Generally, you either initialize this value with an "addition" (the value can be positive or negative). This initialization can either be the first record you insert or a "generate initial status". After that first record/status, all values after that are generally (depending on marker update) added or subtracted from this value to make up the non-cumulative value.
Take for instance the KF:
0VALSTCKVAL - Value of valuated stock
Inflow(+):
0RECVS_VAL - Value received into valuated stock
Outflow(-):
0ISSVS_VAL - Value issued from valuated stock
In the infocube, you will want the 0VALSTCKVAL, 0RECVS_VAL and 0ISSVS_VAL.
0RECVS_VAL and 0ISSVS_VAL are normal KF's and can be used anywhere, they are not non-cumulative. But, they make up the + and - of the key figure of 0VALSTCKVAL.
Now, the KF 0VALSTCKVAL can not be updated directly, once you add it to the infocube, it can only be updated by updating the key figures of 0RECVS_VAL and 0ISSVS_VAL. (They system doesn't let you even try to update 0VALSTCKVAL directly). Thus, the value is controlled by the additions-inflows (receipts) and subtractions-outflows (issues). You can see this behavior in the update from 2LIS_03_BF/UM to 0IC_C03.
Now, to set an initial status, you just need to update the "inflow" of each Non-cumulative KF. You can see this behavior in the 2LIS_03_BX update to 0IC_C03.
You can also see this behavior if you look what SAP is doing during compression and building of aggregates. You will see some SQL that looks similiar to this.
...SUM( 0RECVS_VAL - 0ISSVS_VAL )
...SUM( 0RECVS_QTY - 0ISSVS_QTY ) "(Not sure if these are real
Now, non-cumulatives in ODS objects or anything other than an infocube are useless as they do not have a cooresponding validity table to store the updated pointer.
I will not go into the pointer logic, but there is a document out there for non-cumulative you will want to look at to make more sense of this pointer logic.

Keyfigure values are incorrect in BEx Query based on infoset

Hi Experts,
I have created a infoset using 3 DSO's . 1 main DSO( from which i rquire all the data) is linked with other 2 DSO's using left outer join. DSO is linked with other 2 DSO's with a field return GUID .
Now when i am executing a query , key figure values are coming incorrectly because suppose if there is 1 record related to
RETURN GUID in main DSO and there are 4 reords in 2nd DSO with the same RETURN GUID then in infoset data 4 rows are getting created with the replication of all the fields from first DSO against those 4 rows. So in query result amount field is getting 4 times of its original value because of aggregation of all those 4 rows.
I don't have set of key fields by which i can link the all the DSO's to get unique linking of records.
How can i get the amount only one time in query result?
Hope i am clear.
Please help. I need to create report urgently.

Aggregation level query "value help" = Only Values in InfoProv doesn't work

I have a problem with Selection Variable for a BEx Query :
- I'm working with SAP BI 7.0 support package 15
- My query is an input ready query built for an "aggregation level" based on "real time infocube" (Planning);
- Characteristic, I want to filter with variable, has query property Advanced->Query Execution for Filter Value Selection = Only Values in InfoProvider
- Characteristic (info-object) has set the property: Business Explorer tab--> Query Def. Filter Value Selection as Only Values in the info-provider...
My problem is:
when I execute a query,
the Select Values for Variables screen appears
I push on the Select from List button
and Select Values For MyCharacteristic appears...
but it shows me all values in master data table of my characteristic instead of only values in the infoprovider!!!
If I build a query for the Real Time Cube it works correctly, but if the query is built for the aggregation level it doesn't work!
Could someone explain me why it doesn't work correctly?

the aggregation level is always a Virtual Provider built other
InfoProvider and hence it does not have the dimension table and hence
the F4 mode D is not supported.
Therefore when aggregation level is used in a query, F4 does not supportD-mode: 'Only Values in InfoProvider' and all master data values are
displayed in the value list.

4. Since other InfoProviders do not have a dimension table, the system
displays only posted values if you select "Only Posted Values for
Navigation". Otherwise, it displays the values from the master data

Query designer execute the query some of key figure showing as * value

Hello All,
I am executing the query from Query designer, executed in web in Mozilla Firefox browser some of key figures values were showing as * value.
same query i run through RSRT its showing value for example: value is 615574389.260
if the value is more then web cannot display the result? how to correct it, Thanks!

Hi Ranga,
Does your Key Figure also have unit? Usually we get * when records with different units are aggregated. As you cannot add 1 EURO to 1$, * is displayed.

While refreshing the query on the cube 0IC_C03, i am not getting the correct values in the query, Cube 0IC_C03 values and query values are differ.
when i Tested inthe RSRV test it shows
"<b>Dimension key 398 missing in dimension table /BI0/D0IC_C03P</b> "

Part cost   kf values are getting aggregated ......... can any one help me?

hello gurus....
iam designing a infocube in which there is a keyfigure 'partcost'.when i execute a query on this infocube, the part cost values for a particular part id are getting summed up. but the part cost ,whether for single or 100's of parts ,should be the same.
   i dont want these part cost values in the query to be aggregated. what i should do now. declare this part cost as non cumulative kf or is there any solution for this ?
i have gone thru the sap help site, but unable to find a solution for this?
   how to declare it as a non cumulative kf ?
can any one suggest me a with some detailed steps what should be done for this? very urgent . my project deadline is with in 2 days. i will be really thankful to u..

Issue in query created on infoset - characterstic values are not displayed

We have created a query based on an infoset(customized). In this query, values of only one object(sold-to-party) is not displayed. Where as for the same object, values are displayed in the other query created based on the respective ODS.
note : Query based on infoset is alone not coming.
This is the description of the error -
System error in program CL_RSMD_RS and IF_RSMD_RS-READ_META_DATA-02. and it is showing (No entries found).
And apart from that, the values of their respective attributes are also not displayed in the report.
I even verified the object in RSA1 where data is available for that.
Need Help to solve ....

Restricted values are seen in the query

I have restricted few values in the query. when i execute the query those restricted values are displayed on the top. can any one tell me how to remove it.

As Paveen suggested, Open the Analyzer...instead of opening a query, open a workbook(the one you have saved already). Here, you van change the variable also and execute. It wont have restrivted value.

LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed

hello - i am having this issue and can't get around this when creating a popup LOV based on sql.
below is LOV query. as you see the view has only two columns. I tried various ways by giving alias to columns in query but nothing works. What did I miss here?
select description,inventory_item_id from xx_apex_inv_v
1 error has occurred
LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.

Did you try it like this?
