Variable highlighter

Has anyone seen the "automatic" variable highlighter (like the extension in jdev 10g)?

It's built into the product now under the search menu.

How to enable variable highlighter on Vista (JDeveloper 10.1.3.3)

I have been working with JDeveloper for a while I have tried the 10.1.3.3 & the new preview 2 on my Windows Vista laptop, but I can't get the open source update Varible highlighter and code colorizer to work.
I have tried everything with the 10.1.3.3, but nothing is working, so I wondered if it's a Vista issue? If anybody know any solution for my problem I would be greatful because I really want that to work in my program. I tried installing the new preview version, but it didnt seem any better. That's why I am writing and if you got any good advices for a user using JDeveloper on Vista I would be greatful.

I have the variable highlighter extension installed (10.1.3.3), and it's working just fine. What JDK are you using with JDeveloper (the one that comes with the windows download, or another one)? I am using 1.5.0_11. Just on the off-chance, do you have JDeveloper installed in a directory with spaces in the name? JDev sometimes has a problem when you do this.
A quick search on the forum finds a few other posts. [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1886267]This one has some of my experiences.

Variable Highlighter Extension JDev 10.1.3

Hello all,
I could not locate a Variable Highlighter extension which would work in JDev 10.1.3 so I decided to go ahead and make the necessary adjustments to the Original work of Simeon Zverinski (http://varhigh.sourceforge.net/).
The version I have now works under JDeveloper 10.1.3 without problems. Since I know there have been people requesting this extension be updated, I am willing to offer my work back to the community.
I am not familiar with the Copyright that Mr. Zverinski has over this code, and I do not want to burn in IP hell so I am now trying to contact him to see if my changes can be made public and available to you.

The small problem is I'm not working anymore with JDeveloper or JBuilder so it's difficult for me to test your new version. If you don't mind I would give you access to the sourceforge project as a developer so you could commit changes to CVS and/or potentially maintain other versions.
Please let me know if you are interested to update sourceforge and feel free to publish your changes to any community.

P.S. I believe Oracle and Borland guys should sooner or later implement such a feature by themself as it's done by the Eclipse team. It's strange that after so many years of varhigh existence they still rely on us :)
I do not have time to take over the project in sourceforge but if someone takes over I will send her/him my changes so that the new version can be published.
My changes have also been sent to Shay, hopefully Oracle will recognize the public interest in this extension and integrate it to JDeveloper.

JDev 10g and Variable Highlighter

In the production version of JDev 10g, Variable Highlighter extension(http://home.t-online.de/home/simeon.zverinski/variablehighlighter/index.html), which is so much useful, does not work properly. Quick navigation between variable occurrences functionality is lost. I would appreciate if anybody could suggest me how to fix this.

You need to delete the old version from lib/ext). It's not configured to use shortcuts by default, you need to go to Tools->Preferences->Accelerators. In the Code Editor category, look for these actions and assign them whatever accelerators you want:
Move to Declaration
Move to Next Vriable Occurrence
Move to Original Vriable Occurrence
Move to Previous Vriable Occurrence
Rename Variable

Highlight All Matching Variables (mark occurrences)

I just downloaded the latest CFB to try out. I have had the ability to have all matching variables highlighted in Eclipse for as long as I can remember. It works in CFEclipse, but I cannot figure out how to double click on text and have all matching text found.
It seems that "mark occurances" in the main prefs->general->editor->annotations does nothing and there are no annotations available in CFBuilder standalone. In the toolbar, the go to next occurance drop down doesn't work either. Am I missing something or do I scrap this IDE?

You can do `short <varname>` and have that occurence of <varname> be highlighted but you can't have all occurences of <varname> be highlighted. Vim syntax only uses simple pattern matching so it can't determine dynamically what the pattern is after you declare it. Your next best option might be to set hlsearch and use the # and * and related operators.

Where can I find JALOPY for JDeveloper 10.1.3?

It's nice to see the release of 10.1.3, but I don't see any link pointing to Jalopy from "Check for Updates" menu option. Is that still supported/available? If so, please post a link here.

I checked marker icon on the toolbar. I have to say it is not as sophisticated as Variable Highlighter. First, its not a real-time highlighter. User has to put focus on a variable and then click on that icon to show the occurrence. Second, it can not differentiate instance variable v.s. local variable. Third, it contains bug. For example, it cannot find testStr in line 8 when click the marker icon on testStr in line 3.

Installation failed: Unable to extract to temp directory. EX11

Hi there,
Today I decided to upgrade from ADOBE CS4 toa CC subscription. I am on PC, running WINDOWS 7. My main design computer is 64-bit, my laptop runs 32 bit WINDOWS. I downloaded the app manager and selected apps without problems on my main computer - but as I am trying to install on my Fujitsu Lifebook T900 laptop computer (running 32-bit Windows 7) - I get download problems - so far both Photoshop and Indesign have failed to install. Bridge updated sucessfully.
NOTE: I did uninstall CS4 on my laptop and reboot my system before beginning the CC app download
The error message for INDESIGN states this:
Installation failed
Unable to extract to temp directory. Please contact customer support. (EX11)
Can you help me with how to make this work?

Hi Helma,
Please follow the below steps:
1) Quit Adobe creative cloud desktop application.
2) Click on start button and right click on Properties.
3) Advanced system settings>> Advanced>> Environment Variables>> Highlight first line item and click on Edit.
4) Variable Name: TEMP and Variable value: "C:\Temp". Do the same thing for the second line item.
5) Click Ok and Apply, once done launch Adobe creative cloud and then try to install Indesign once again.

Not passing arguments

I'm stuck and no have any left idea
First I have a Global creatiion activity in which method I assign to the arguments a value for example:
count = 10109
then in my beginning node in the BeginIn window I have assigned that argument to a proyect variable
Instance variable: contador
Argument: count
and I have an automatic activity wher I putted a display for contador but it shows Display: [0]
The global creation activitry is in a function row and the Begin node and the automatic activiy are on an automatic controller

Not sure I followed everything in your thread, but try this:
1. Create a process
2. Add an instance variable called "count" by clicking the "+" icon in the Instances section of the Variables tab. Change this variable's type to "Int".
3. While you still have the new "count" variable highlighted in the Variables tab, click the icon immediately to the right of the word "Instance" that looks like a circle with a down arrow on it. Note that by clicking this, that you
<li> automatically create a new incoming argument variable called "countArg" and
<li> automatically map the "countArg" incoming argument variable to the "count" instance variable
4. Change your Global Creation activity to have this one line of logic:
countArg = 101095. If you want a project variable set to this same value, add a new project variable call it "counter" (a different name than the instance variable) and make it and Int type. Double click the Begin activity and map the "counter" project variable to the countArg argument variable.
6. In your Interactive activity, add this logic:
display "The count is: " + count + " and the counter is: " + counterHope this helps,

Highlighting items unsuccesfull due to incorrect variable length

I had a problem with highlighting items in a block. The cause was package body QMS$RECORD in library QMSLIB50, in which the variable L_CUR_ITEM is defined as VARCHAR2(50), which is, offcourse, too small, because blocknames can be 30 chars en itemnames can be 30 chars.
After making it VARCHAR2(100) (you never know...) all runs fine.

- SaishDang! I tried my own suggestion by moving the XMLAnswerHandler class into the doPost(...) method and the instance variables also. The compiler then complained that the instance variables had to be declared final in order to have the XMLAnswerHandler class use them. However, that makes the variables read-only. That's no good for me. Its the XMLAnswerHandler class that is supposed to set those variables!
So, are you saying make XMLAnswerHandler class a private class and external to the servlet? Would that mean I would have to encorporate static get methods in XMLAnswerHandler class to obtain the ArrayList and int QuestionCount ?

Row highlighting - variable substitution?

Report templates are great except that the Row Highlighting options take literal values.
Is there (at 3.0.1) any way to vary the background color for current row dependent on a CSS style or other variable?
Is there (please...) any intention to support CSS styles or a substitution variable (or application item reference) in these settings in a future release?

Bump again. Variable ROW-level formatting would be REALLY nice. And not just the {span] tag, but include row-level changes for both cell- and text-based attributes such as cell borders, cell background colors, font size, font weight, font color, etc. Would be best if one could create a pseudocolumn in the SQL and have the row use the specified CSS value, ie
This SQL query

        when 1 then 'mktg'
        when 2 then 'sales'
        when 3 then 'admin'
    END CASE as CSS,
   emp_id, emp_nm, dept_id
    from EMP;This could be paired with a stylesheet in the page header that looked something like:

How can you make the Chart "Color Highlights" Item Condition val a variable

Hi,
I have a report with a chart on it.
The chart has on Item Condition on it to change the color of each bar to red if the value is under a certain value.
This value needs to be passed in as a parameter to the report.
The condition looks like this
if Avg PerformancePercent < 90 then bar color = red
The 90 in this condition needs to be set from a parameter P_PerformancePercent_Threshold.
I am producing the report in Visual Studio 2005 using CrystalReportViewer to display the report.
Since the value field seems to only take in numeric values I have assumed there is no way to use a parameter something like.
So I am looking at doing this through code.
The object model for the ChartObject does not have many properties/methods on it.
Is there any other way to achieve this?

How I can transfer data from the database into a variable (or array)?

I made my application according to the example (http://corlan.org/2009/06/12/working-in-flash-builder-4-with-flex-and-php/). Everything works fine. I changed one function to query the database - add the two parameters and get the value of the table in String format. A test operation shows that all is ok. If I want to display this value in the text area, I simply drag and drop service to this element in the design mode

It also works fine, just a warning and encouraged to use ArrayCollection.getItemAt().
Now I want to send the value to a variable or array, but in both cases I get an error: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties..
How can I pass a value from the database into a variable? Thank you.

yep, it won't work for Arrays, you'll have to do something slightly more intelligent for them.
easiest way would be to get your PHP to generate XML, then read that into something like an ArrayList on your HTTPService result event (depends what you're doing with it).
for example, you could have the PHP generate XML such as:

Highlight search string in a pl/sql report

I followed the example of QBE by Scott Spendolini. I got it working. But I am trying to add the highlight search string functionality, in the report created. The report is created from a dynamic pl/sql query. Can you give me any ideas or an example? Thank you for your time in advance,

Hi Suma,
Your Search button runs a process called "RUN_REPORT". Presumably, this process picks up the values from the tabular form to construct the new SQL statement.
Given that you don't have a normal report definition - ie one that you can use the Highlight Words option - the only other possibility is to adjust the SQL query results.
Let's assume that you have in your RUN_REPORT process a variable called vJOB that holds the JOB value from your QBE grid. Your SQL statement could then be adjusted to something like:
SELECT EMPNO,
ENAME,
'<span style="color:red">' || JOB || '</span>',
etc
FROM EMPTABLE
WHERE JOB = vJOB;
Obviously, without seeing your code, I can not say exactly how it should be constructed to highlight the word(s), but the above should give you an idea of what you need to do. If you're still not sure, can you please paste into this thread the RUN_REPORT code.

that is i should get LIKE THIS.

The scenario is that I have to create a formula (contract end date-current date) and have to display the result using exeption to highlight the contracts ending in 30-60 days.
The problem is that the info provider does not have any infoobject for date(only valid to and validity start date)
I have created a formula variable on valid to date using replacement path. But dont have any variable to use for current date.
The only time char in the cube is Fiscal yera variant.
How should I go futher creating such formula? Shall I user customer exit variable? But I dont have any date char to create on.
Can you shed some light on this problem
