Varify Plugin and GRM Tool Delay
Hi all,
I'm from a Pro Tools back ground, but sold my system and I'm using Logic now. I really miss 2 plugins. Varify and the very specific GRM Tools Delay. I can't afford to buy the whole GRM Tools package and Logic doesn't have a Varify
plugin. Are there other plugins out there that I can use to get the same effect. I also have vst to AU adapter, so that's not a problem.

External Midi Plugin and Midi Output Delay
This one is fairly esoteric but has anyone run into the following problem or have a workaround?
I'm trying to incorporate the External midi plugin into my setup so I can use the new midi plugins, but I cannot correctly calibrate my system when using it. My calibration technique invoolves setting delay for each synth to the slowest of the bunch and then compensating for all in the Sync > All Midi Out > Delay preference. However, when you use the external midi plugin this control has no effect. Running the synths as standard midi does work but then you lose the option of using the new midi plugins.
If verified, does anyone know if this issue will be resolved in an update?

Thanks for replying. I haven't had internet in a couple days and I'm back on now. Time Warner Cable is sometimes unstable around my area.
Logic:
I've been trying different things for the last couple days and nothing works.
I replayed and recorded a 4 bar piano part and made sure that the hits were as close to the grid as possible. It sounded fine on MIDI Recording. But on MIDI Playback Here's what I found: The Midi data is not misplaced, it's right where it should be. But the actual sound is delayed on playback.
I have a PreSonus Monitoring Station. The outputs of the Motif go straight into the Traveler (In 5-6). The Main outputs on the Traveler go into the PreSonus Monitoring Station as well as my KRK Monitors. I control the volume from the Monitor Station.
Software Monitoring and Independent Monitoring Level are both enabled.
I don't get it...Please help. -
- Using LabView version 6.1, is there anyway to change the "Time Between Points" indicator of (HH.MM.SS) to only (mm.ss), or to perhaps only (.ss) ?
- Need to set the data sampling rate to capture every 5 milliseconds, but the defaults is always to 20 or greater; even when the "Small Loop Delay" variable is adjusted down.

And, if you want to acquire analog data every 5 milliseconds from a DAQ board, that is possible with just about every DAQ board and is not related to the version of LabVIEW. You simply have to set the sample rate of the DAQ board to 200 samples/sec. If it's digital data, then there will be a problem getting consistent 5 msec data.

How to install or attach or add the plugins '.mnu and .vlx' to autocad 2012 or 2013 (mac version). In windows, its 'menuload' and express tools, that helps for it. But this command doesn't exist in mac version. so is there any other command or solution?

Till now I have got it only working via PS CS4

FJThe Nik Collection can be installed as:
- Aperture plug-ins
- Photoshop plug-ins
- Lightroom plug-ins
It's up to you how you use them.
I have them installed as both Aperture and PSCC plug-ins. If I am going to use only one, and don't need to make additional changes using that Nik tool, I just call it from Aperture as a plug-in and use it. (Ex: DFine for noise reduction.)
If I am going to use more than one, or want to preserve the layer for additional parametric changes, I send the new Version to PS via Aperture's built-in external editor command, and then use the Nik tool(s) from Photoshop on Smart Layers (I think -- I'm not a PS maven).
So it's really up to you. It sounds as though right now you using Nik Photoshop plug-ins. If you want, you can install them as Aperture plug-ins (assuming that you're Nik Collection is up to date and complete).

Using VST plugins and ASIO for everything?
Just a thought. Oh how much I'd like this!
To be able to use universal VST plugins and ASIO for everything directly from Windows would be ideal. To put this simply, making the Creative Windows "mixer" a true equivelent of a pro-software mixing app (Ableton, ProTools, Sonar, Cubase, or any other) in terms of absolute control for all Audio effects and I/O.
If Creative won't ever do this even on their next gen cards, somebody or some company that knows a decent mixer setup should write such a replacement mixer soon offered at a fair price (if not free) that will do so with easy, complete, reliable integration.
Long and specific
VST related:
- Use X-Ram to cache inserted VST plugins. Now theres a potential great reason for it since it obviously doesnt use any to cache the I/O bus like ALL OTHER periphials that have Ram caches. Its use is dictated by software, so why not?
- Allow setting some tiny but likely necessary amount of X-Ram as an additional plugin audio I/O buffer. This should be much less than what mixing software needs for this setting since that would all have to pass the CPU.
- Use Creative's processing hardware directly instead of the CPU so VST plugins won't increase CPU usage (within reason of course).
- Yield overhead when using lots or higher-demand plugins if set in bit-match mode. Why waste all that power for SRC when Voxengo R8Brain or plenty of other pro software can do that a million times better and way faster in non-real-time? OK, only Creative could work this one in.
- Why VST plugins? I'd trust my favorite EQ, digital limiter or whatever that has 64-bit float internal precision and oversampling vs. a 24-bit (rounding-error heaven) with no oversampling like the built in Creative ones.
- If Creative has confidence in the quality of their own propriety effects, doesn't have to be VST but simply making them usable as a ReWire bridged devices into most any host with parameter automation controls and all. Obviosly these could have much lower latency than VST that normally relies on CPU processed software code.
- The only argument against this is that some VST plugins have huge latencies. Optional latency delay to keep tracks
- Allow Creatives hardware to insert as a ReWire slave or otherwise bridged device to ASIO-based apps so VST's can be outsourced from demanding more CPU when mixing. I could also add MIDI plugin effects as well.
ASIO related:
- Allow changing any and all audio I/O routing for individual channels on the fly for Windows and ANY software (not just ASIO compatible stuff). Just like in Ableton, Pro Tools, and every other WELL designed "mixer".
- Treating XP itself and any software that normally goes through DX/MME/etc to use this ASIO mixer by making it appear as an insert send/return in the mixer so it can get routed and processed individually to my liking.
- Can insert send/return signals for any DX/MME/etc program to/from any track or #tracks in any combination up to some reasonable limit with pre/post gains. At least several send/returns slots per channel.
- A game that uses ASIO would be sweet. 0% FPS drop. IMO DX/MME/wave-mapper sound sucks. No control, many wasted CPU cycles, and horrible latency.
- Ability to save/load PROGRAM-specific routing chains. Having it so simly running a certain program will automatically insert it how/whereever I specified, if not default, with all relevant I/O settings, including plugins and related settings that were put in the insert send/return path series to that program of course.
- Put real-time SRC, compression encoding/decoding, or any Creative effects as well whereever I want in the signal chain, whether universal to a track I/O or program insert send/return I/O.
- Ability to record tracks or the master likewise.
- No digital feedback possible caused by monitering/recording/routing configs that would be possible in any decent mixing software. Surely not ever from a default setting or made sometimes impossible to prevent like on the Audigy series. Well unless I do something stupid that SHOULD cause feedback. Speak of a truly worthless mixer, this BTW is the ONLY reason I couldn't just go the manual route and run my host all the time, forcing ALL sounds through it for real-time playback with my Audigy. I'm assuming XiFi's Audio-Creation Mixer doesn't have this horrible problem.
- Imagine putting any combination of sounds in 7.1 surround, monitering specific channels to any physical output, or up/downmixing 5.1 as it plays in real-time, etc. any thing like this possible instantly with a few mouse clicks! This would be SO EASY and completely possible to implement, most of the above right onto existing XiFi's as is.
It's not like it would be competing with pro-interface rackmount products so no harm to Creative. I sure as h*ll wouldn't record with any soundcard's analog pre's or unbalanced connections for that matter. Guess I just love the interface and control of a REAL mixer that can do it all.cusis wrote:

I don't see why this isn't possible with enough X-RAM. Why no host apps support offloading VST plugin cache buffers and rendering threads to it? I'm probly returning my XiFi and sticking with my old Audigy 1 until either I blow it up or Creative makes a REAL upgrade with most the aforementioned features that literally COULD'VE been implemented in XiFi's current hardware.
If they do, they'll have my business and many others I'm pretty sure. Creative, if your listening and you want to like triple your sales - PLEASE get a clue and get the software end right. If ALL apps were forced to pass through ASIO as I mentioned, this could force all apps and games to use part of X-RAM as an I/O buffer no matter what specific support is. The same way a video card can offload ALL video including Windows, not just when running certain games, or even worse, certain audio apps lol that specifically support video RAM and DX performance controls! That would be the stupidest, most worthless idea and why Video Cards don't waste their hardware this way. And yet this is what XiFi currently does regarding audio. Somebody change this SOON.
This would be SO cheap and easy for Creative toss together and implement and would solve EVERYONE's problems and make ALL games at least get SMOOTH AUDIO. He!! Creative could charge $30 extra for it or just push out a new line of cards and itd still be worth it. Creative, did you read that part? More profit$$$ Like a video card upgrade, I EXPECT a night vs. day improvment but as it stands, XiFi is simply a glorified Audigy that costs more but much LESS likely to work right.
More importantly, its use of ASIO (the real deal) remains no less limited than an old Creative card from way back when. If Creative wants their soundcard to integrate with software better, learn from Nvidia/Ati and deliver the goods as they've done it all along. -
Problems with i/o plugins and minus latency
Hi, I'm using a UA Apollo as my interface into a Mac Pro. Whenever I use the i/o plugin to use external effects, rather than there be a latency, logic is printing them before the original file, so a minus latency. Whenever I do ping on the i/o tool it seems to measure the latency as 0ms, which is obviously impossible. The support person at universal Audio said it's not a hardware problem, but a logic problem so I should ask here. Does anyone have any ideas? I've already spent some time messing with buffer settins etc.
ThanksIn that case I would say the UA Apollo drivers are not reporting the correct latency to Logic's audio engine and you will need to use an offset in the Recording Delay option. Use a software instrument EXS24 with a sharp drum sound (rimshot), sequence a few bars of quarter or eighth notes. You already have a loopback cable plugged in play the sequence and record it on an audio track... measure the offset and set recording delay according ly, normally the reverse of what you might think. Caveat, this procedure need only be done once but it has to be done for each of the System I/O latency setting you're going to use. 64, 128, 256...etc.
One other thing. Preferences/Audio/ General tab what do you have plug-in latency compensation set to?
Use "Audio and Software Instrument Tracks" do not use ALL
Also, Low Latency mode on the Devices tab should not be selected.
p.s. pinging at 5 or 6 samples does not sound right., should be higher.
Unfortunately Logic and UA devices have not played well in the past, partly due to the fact that Logic does not have 100% plug-in-delay compensation, but it usually can be worked around. That's why you see different settings for PDC. -

Looks that the page has a lot of protection measures (context menu is disabled) and DIVs that overlay each other, so it is possible that the print routine only sees an empty DIV and not the image or the real page.<br />
That big image consists of two parts as you can see via Tools > Page Info > Media and the inspector. -

1) firefox has been giving me problems for several months where it just stops responding, meaning I click on one of the 5 tabs open then it gives me msg "firefox not responding", also happens when I am working with xsitepro website builder development software stops me from moving around the xsitepro program and firefox again says firefox not responding
Note: However, when firefox gives me "not responding msg" it responds after a few minutes and gives me access the tab i clicked on but then happens again when i try to click on another tab
2) went to a page that firefox listed plugins http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ and there are several plugins listed that I do not know what it means below the ones it says it is updated, those are listed as " unknown plugin and ?research "
Not sure what does this mean as far as those plugins that are listed unknown and research. I did a search to see if I could find those plugins under addons but did not see them listed so are these plugins being used and installed on my firefox browswer and if so why are they hidden if they are installed or are they not installed at all

You're not the first person to report that the sessionstore.js or recovery.js file stopped updating with new activity. However, it's rare enough that I can't recall whether we have gotten to the bottom of it in a previous thread. I'll see whether I can search it up.
Meanwhile, someone might be able to come up with a way to watch for problems and extract some debug information, but I'm not personally familiar with such tools. -
Final Cut, Quicktime, and Pro Tools conflicts
Hi there,
I'm working on a "situation" I recently encountered, and wonder if anybody else has had this problem.
I'm trying to upgrade Pro Tools LE to version 6.9.2 with the install discs that were sent to me from Digidesign, and it's wreaking havoc with Final Cut Pro and Quicktime.
Initially when I installed the upgrade, I was running OSX 10.4.2, FCP 5.0.3 and QT 7.0.2. The Pro Tools upgrade worked fine, as did FCP when I launched it, but Quicktime wouldn't launch- spinning beachball forevermore.
So after doing all the basics- trashing pref's and render files, repairing permissions, etc.- and finding QT still wouldn't work, I tried upgrading to QT 7.0.3.
Once I did that, QT still wouldn't work, and Final Cut Pro would no longer launch. It just hung on the application startup screen, at no particular point each time.
I then upgraded to FCP 5.0.4, and as well OS 10.4.3. No luck. I installed the Pro Application Support updates 2005-02 1.0, and 3.1, and still no luck.
Since there is not yet a downgrade from QT 7.0.3 to 7.0.2, I ran the 7.0.2 to 7.0.1 installer, and downgraded to QT 7.0.1. QT still wouldn't launch, and FCP still hung on launch but this time it hung at the point where it was loading audio filters.
I tried removing the audio filters from their folders to see if it would launch then, but that didn't work. At this point, the only thing I could think to do was to uninstall Pro Tools altogether (safe uninstall, not clean uninstall) and this is what finally brought Quicktime and Final Cut back to life. Great, because I use FCP and QT everday, but I no longer have the use of Pro Tools.
Throughout this process I made sure to diligenty repair permissions, trash prefs, and restart whenever I made a change.
So I'm not sure at this point how to get Pro Tools LE 6.9.2, Final Cut Pro 5.0.4, and Quicktime (any version above 7.0) to work harmoniously, and I'm unable to spare any more troubleshooting time for a week or so because there are of course, projects due.
Has anybody else encountered these oddities?

I'm having the same trouble, I have FCP I'm running it on a G5 power Mac dual 2.5 ghz with 2.5 gb of memory, my os is 10.4.4. I also have Quicktime pro 7.0.3 and I have Pro Tools LE 7.0, every time I try to use FCP it starts and about five sec. later it shuts back down. I also have a Universal Audio UAD pci card that runs audio plugins and I also have fxpansion program it converts my vst & Au plugins to rtas for pro tools le. IBefore I installed FCP I wiped my hard drive and re installed a fresh version of tiger 10.4 and then I installed FCP studio, then Pro Tools, then all plugin and kept checking to make sure every thing was working correctly and then the U audio stuff with the Vst to rtas wrapper and it all was working fine. I even did the full final cut tutorial still worked fine. Yesterday out of no where final cut just stop working and still all the other programs work fine like dvd studios, soundtrack, motion, pro tools. If you can shead any light on this I would be very greatful

Error loading plugins brs pencil tool | cc | Illustrator 2014
Hello there,
I use Illustrator cc 2014, and recently when I open the application, there will be a pop up with "error loading plugins brs pencil tool". I click continue, and the pencil tool is completely missing from my tool bar. I wanted to know what would be the best way to fix this? I have tried updating the software and it says "failed to update, error u44m1p7". I don't want to mess around with any of the plugins manually as I know there has to be a certain way they are placed and installed, and I'm not sure what the right way is. If someone has had to remove and add a plugin before and knows how that info would be helpful.

You may consider a reinstallation using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger):
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Selection and Type Tools not working in InDesign CC for Mac
I have just recently downloaded InDesign CC (I use Mac OSX.9.2) and got the World Tools plugin to typeset in different languages.
However, I am having trouble using the selection and type tools. In about the first half of the file, the type tool displays the pointer/dashed box/I-beam icon and doesn't put the cursor in the text when I click on it. I can't click to select text as I should be able to, and if I try to click and drag, all I do is end up creating another text frame. But in about the second half of the file, the selection and type tools work the way they should.
When I click and hold on the type tool, the cursor changes to the crosshairs icon for creating text frames and the "W: H: " dialogue box for text frames appears.
How can I get the tools to work properly in the entire document? Is anyone else having this problem?@Cindy – usually all 3rd party developers will provide some information for installing and uninstalling their products. First see if you can find some information on their web sites.
Also there should be a dedicated Adobe Extension Manager app where you can look up the installed parts of InDesign. Since I do not have InDesign CC installed, I do not know exactly, but its name should be something like "Adobe Extension Manager CC".
If you start this app it will show all parts installed with InDesign (or other apps that are installed).
Usually at the bottom of the list are the 3rd party installed components. They do not state "Adobe Incoroprate System" as author. Never uninstall (remove) the Adobe ones!

Simulation using Eclipse plugin for JCOP tools

In search for a simulation environment for java card applet development I tried to use Eclipse plugin for JCOP tools.

Slip and slide tools don't display the four reference frames
According to the help page, "when you use the Slip or Slide tool, the Program Monitor displays the four frames involved in the edit side by side, except when editing audio only". On my machine, when I use the slip or slide tool, the program monitor continues to display the same clip; it does not divide itself up into the handy four reference frames at all. The tool still seems to work, doing its thing on the timeline, but it's useless without the four frames.
Anyone have any idea how I screwed this up, I have searched everywhere in the preferences etc, and also here and on google, but can't for the life of me figure out why it is doing this to me.
In the image below, I have the slide tool activated, and am dragging a clip, but the monitor window on the top right remains stubbornly singular.Well I solved it myself. I will note it here so others in the same situation will find the solution.
I had installed the MainConcept Mpeg Pro plugin suite (v.5) soon after installing Premiere; Mainconcept apparently (and inexplicably) does not support this feature in the playback/monitor window. Which renders these tools useless when the Mainconcept playback is active. Very strange omission on Mainconcept's part.
To fix it go to:
Project>Project Settings>General
At the bottom of the window that pops up is a drop-down menu entitled "Video Rendering and Playback"; mine was set to playback with the Mainconcept Renderer; I switched it to Mercury Engine Playback and now the reference frames pop up as they should with Slip, Slide and other tools.

Different versions Plugin and ActiveX with MSI file installation

we used the newest Adobe Flash Player MSI file with our software deployment tool. But we has trouble with two different versions of plugin and ActiveX installation.
Does any body know how that could be appear? Should we use now the .EXE file?

Freudenberg ITThe EXE and MSI installers on the distribution page are always identical versions.
However, it seems to happen a lot that MSI installers are cached on some corporate servers. Make sure the caches are cleaned, or download the MSI from outside your corporate environment.
