    Hi,
    Go to TCode: OBC4.
Select the relevant field status group related to VAT from the list.
Go to additional account assignments in that. Make the Business Area field from Suppress to Required Entry.
Please let me know if it doesn't work and if you have further questions.

  • To be able to report by business area at a header level

Business area reporting at a header level in Procurement/AP Subject Areas
At present client is doing a large number of manual lookups in Excel to add Business area detail to certain OBI procurement reports. Reasons for why we are having to do this includes that the report is written at a header level but the business area detail is stored at a distribution level or the document has no distribution lines.
What client would therefore like is for us to devise solutions that would allow us to include the business area detail. Possible solutions that I can think of include doing a join between the employee name, preparer name and requestor name to the HR business area detail, and the way that the ‘Procurement and Spend - Employee Spend’ joins the employee name and approver name to the business area fields maybe something that you can review as a solution.
I am hoping that you can come up with a number of solutions which we can then explore in further detail.
The key subject area that we would like this business area detail to be available in is the ‘Financials - AP Transactions’ area but if would certainly be beneficial to have in the ‘Procurement and Spend - Purchase Orders’ and ‘Procurement and Spend - Purchase Requisitions’ subject areas as well if it is feasible.
Can any plz.. guide the possible soultions we can do with this CR

    Bonjour,

    Hi All,
we have a requirement to create the Report painter report where in the Revenue will be By business area and cost of the particular cost center by Cost element.
i.e revenue by Business area against cost by department.
It it possible to use report painter to create such report?. when i was going through the report painter it does not allow me to pull the cost  by department .
    Best regards

    Hi,
Business consolidation is for more of consolidation purpose and cost center grouping is more for management reporting purpose for cost control purposes.
Both the organizational units serve for different purposes. Consolidatied business will not have much meaning unless you go with EC-CS.
Cost Center Groups are much for control purpose and help in managerial reporting.
Business Units are part of FI Organizational Structure and Cost Centers are part of CO organizational structures.

  • Report Painter - Business Area & GL Account Question

    Hi All,
Here is the problem I'm attempting to solve.  In the Rows we have all the inventory GL/Accounts and company codes.  In the columns we have the Period and Business Area.
The issue the company has all of their postings in one company code going into a "blank" business area(long story here and we're attempting to get that changed).  But in the meantime I have dollars in these blank business areas being captured along with another business area.  For example we have BA identified as Parts & Service and Machines.  I've set it up right now so that all blank business areas are captured with the Parts & Service column.  Now comes the problem.  There is one specific GL Account that should be captured under the Machine BA column.  Does anyone know how to use a formula in a column to pull just the one GL Account under the blank business area.  I could then create another column that adds the Machines column(that includes all the GL Accts) and the Blank column with just the one specific GL Account.
I thought I could do this with formulas in a column but I'm having difficulty getting it to work.  I was hoping somone might have a suggestion on how to accomplish this task.  Your ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Please double click on the cell in which you would like to have the specific value. You would be given options of selecting Characteristics with key figures. Select and do the needful.
You would get the desired value here. Thereafter you can either create another column or use the value such fetched in the same column and then hide the relevant row.
    Hope this is useful.

  • Discoverer Report: How to find Business Area name from Report Name.

    Hi
I opened a report in Disco Desktop 4 -> Resonsibiolity --> Report Name.
So I know Report name but don’t know which Business Area it belongs to.
How to find Business Area Name from Report Name?
    Cheers
    Vijay

    Hi,
There is no relationship between reports and business areas. Each report can be built from many folders. Each folder can be in many business areas.
However you can try the following SQL which may give you the result you want for an v5 EUL. You will have to modify for Discoverer 4 EUL:
    select distinct doc_name, obj.obj_name folder_name, bas.ba_name
    from eul_us.eul5_documents doc
    , eul_us.eul5_elem_xrefs xref
    , eul_us.eul5_expressions exp
    , eul_us.eul5_objs obj
    , eul_us.eul5_ba_obj_links bol
    , eul_us.eul5_bas bas
    where xref.ex_from_id = doc.doc_id
    and doc.doc_name = &your_report
    and xref.ex_to_id = exp.exp_id
    and obj.obj_id = exp.it_obj_id
    and bol.bol_obj_id = obj.obj_id
    and bas.ba_id = bol.bol_ba_id

  • Report Writer report required by Business Area GSBER  for table GLPCT  ECC6

    Please help,
I have a requirement for report writer report by Business Area (GSBER) for table GLPCT.

    Hi ,
If you are using the cube: 0FIAP_C20, then i guess you are using the standard extractor 0FI_AP_20 . One thing which i remember that there is a standard view in ECC : LFC1_AEDAT.
This view has two tables : LFC1 and BWFI_AEDA2.
LFC1 - Vendor master (transaction figures)
BWFI_AEDA2 - BW FI: Log Table for Changed Transaction Figures
This standard extractor uses table LFC1 to show vendor balances.
And the table BWFI_AEDA2 contains the log of the changes that has taken place business area wise and account no of the vendor wise .
Please check the view definition to confirm the same . Once you will see the joining conditions in this view you will get a clear picture of the above point .
So for your issue, you can do datasource enhancement of 0FI_AP_20 .
The logic will be based on LIFNR,BUKRS,GJAHR available from the datasource , fetch the business area from this view and populate it in your datasource .
But first check in the table BWFI_AEDA2 whether for the field BWFI_AEDA2-TABNAME= lfc1 , business areas are maintained .
Hope the above reply was helpful.
    Thanks & regards

  • SQL to retrieve business areas, users and their reports?

    Hi,
I've been able to retrieve by sql, users and their reports or business areas and thier users, but I'm unable to retrieve business areas, users and reports in the same sql.
I've been looking in eul tables without success. I guess someone has already done that?
    Thanks

    Hello
The problem you have is that you are trying to mix objects that don't go together.
As you have already determined, you can have a script to query users who have access to business areas, and you can also  have a script to query users who have access to or own reports. However there is no link between business areas and reports.
Discoverer reports are validated against folders, not business areas. If a report uses 2 folders and there are 10 business areas that contain those folders which business area do you think the report was written against? The answer is none of them. You just happened to have a business area open at the time the report was written but truthfully you could have used any of them. Therefore, if a user reopens a workbook that uses folders found in multiple business areas, Discoverer will default to the first business area by name that contains all of the folders used and that the user has been granted access to.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Customer Open Items by segments or Business Area

    Dear All
    Good Morning
We would like to discuss one issue which may be other companies also facing related to New General Ledger. We book one vendor liabity which belong to two Business Area or Segment. Now we enter vendor line item only once and do not enter the business area in vendor line item. Document is posted and vendor line item is without business area. But if we see GL view document reconciliation account is splitted in two business area based on expense propotionate. which is correct but still our problem is that when we run the vendor report by business area this vendor line item will be shown without business area.
Can any one have a solution for this problem
    Thanks and Best Regards

    Hi Ravi,
SAP will pick these invoices for payment according to vendor open items which are due according to payment terms.
When it comes to customer invoices, clearing depends on when customer pays payment to particular invoice, these customer invoices will get cleared.
I assume you are talking more closely to intercompany scenario (If it is not intercompany invoices clearing, you should not worry mostly about customer invoices clearing), where you want to clear vendor invoices and customer invoices. So you need to incorporate entry date in your functionality to pick intercompany invoices clearing.
    Thanks much

  • Business area and Sales organisation

Can any 1 of u tell me the difference btw Business area and Sales organisation

    Dear Venkata Krishnan
Business areas are primarily used to facilitate external segment reporting across company codes, covering the company's main areas of operation (product lines, branches).
You can assign all balance sheet items, such as fixed assets, receivables, payables, and material stock, as well as the entire P&L statement directly to business areas. You can only assign banks, equity, and taxes manually to business areas indirectly. For this reason, it is not possible to create the legally-required financial statements and tax reports at business area level. Financial statements at business area level are therefore only suitable for internal reporting.
Sales Organisation is an organizational unit subdividing an enterprise according to the requirements of Sales. It is responsible for selling materials and services.
A sales organization can be subdivided into several distribution chains which determine the responsibility for a distribution channel.
Several divisions can be assigned to a sales organization which is responsible for the materials or services provided.
A sales area determines the distribution channel used by a sales organization to sell a divisionu2019s products.

The profit center valuation view shows you the cost of goods manufactured from the profit center viewpoint and valuation according to transfer price conditions

Same issue here. I noticed one thing that by default the first Business Area in the list is shown & not the one we choose for current report. And i don't think, Oracle can provide any way to change it because Reports are associated with folders & there is no clear association of reports with Business areas.

  • Chaning business area in asset master

    Hi gurus,
Can we change business area in asset master? is there any customizing or transaction?

    Hi,
If you want to use the "Specify Time-Independent Management of Organiz. Units, in asset accounting under Master Data tab, please read the following SAP Notes:
SAP Note 193233 - Changing organizational unit in asset master record
SAP Note 162247 - Error AU133 or additional line item with transfer
SAP Note 210278 - RW022 when changing organizational units
    Furthermore:
    Purpose:
If we want to use Time-independent management of organization units, the system manages the  rganizational units 'business area' and 'cost center' (and thereby 'profit center') as not time dependent in the asset master records in this company code.
    Advantages:
Any change to these organizational units during master data maintenance then automatically generates a transfer posting document.
    Disadvantages:
If the indicator is not set, you have to create a new asset master record (only in case of business area change), and manually transfer the entire asset, when the business area changes.
    Points to be considered:
    1. This method will not change the asset number. However, it will not keep track of the transfers.
    2. If you set this indicator, and then change these organizational units in asset master data maintenance, the system replaces the business area and cost center (and profit center) in all existing time intervals by the new assignments.
    3. After that, it is no longer possible to report on these organizational units for past time periods in Asset Accounting! This applies even if you later remove the indicator!
    4. In short we will lost track of any type of past reporting on business area/Cost center.
    Recommendation:
You should only change the standard setting when ALL of the following apply:
    1. You do not need a history of the time-dependent assignments of an asset to a business area or cost center.
    2. You create business area or profit center balance sheets.
    3. You expect to make frequent changes to the assignments to business areas or cost centers.
    Thanks
    Javed
