Vb type in house production with controls on Max stock level, considering -

Dear friends,
Please think of possible solution to map the follwing scenario,
my client having vb tpe scenario for in house mfg product, As the it reaches to re-order level it generates planned order ,
eg mrp type -vb, reorder point-200 ,min lot size -150 and max lot size 500,
and Max stock level - 1500   and his lotsize -EX,
here after creation of planned order he wants a control , that when it is converted to process order , in change mode , he should able to change the order qty  in such way that , it   Need to consider open process orders and Available Stock
(Unrestricted & Quality) also in same Plant
e.g. Max Stock Lvl is 500 Unrestricted Stock 100 Quality Stock 50 open
ProcOrder is 200. If user trying to change ProcOrd 250 it should allow
to change ProcOrdr of 150 only.
please sugeest how to set the controls.

Hi Dhar,
In av. check scope (OPJJ), include the stocks which you wish to consider eg: quality insp. stock etc in addition to unrestricted stock. The system will then create planned orders only for the needed items.
If user tries to change the qty of the order to more than required, MD04 will show an exception message. Hope this meets your need.
If helpful award points

Vivek

  • In-house production with on-line publication and external procurement C5

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    I need to configure PPDS to immediate transfer in-house production orders but to have periodical transfer for external procurement, do you know how to do this?
    Thanks and BR
    Andre

    Hi
    Goto Spro-APO-supply chain Planning-PPDSGlobal setting-maintain global parameters and defaults-
    Transfer to R/3 Inhouse Production- Always create transfer event
    Transfer To R/3 External Procurement- Do not create transfer event.
    To transfer external procurement periodicaly you can use /SAPAPO/RRP4 go to change mode and click on transfer order.
    Have a small test from all angles before going ahead with this approch. As you need check whether changes to already transfered purchase requisition get transfered to ECC if not how you will identify such orders and send it to ECC.
    May I know what is buisness reason for such requirement because I seen requirement to transfer inhouse production and external procurement only on conversion but heard of such requirement first time.

  • Max Stock & Good Receipt Time with Optimizer

    Hello,
    We are attempting to use the optimizer to maintain a max stock level (Max Stock = 750 ) constraint at a location. We are also using a Good Receipt time (Good Receipt = 1 day) for this location/product. Currently when we execute the optimizer (discrete) the system is exceeding our max stock value we have maintained in the product master because of the Goods Receipt Time.
    For example on 09/15 we have an on hand quantity of 200 units. On 09/16 we have demand for 200 units, bringing our on hand quantity to 0 units. On 09/17 we have a receipt of 950 units to fulfill the demand of 200 units and bring our stock up to maximum level, resulting in a stock on hand quantity of 750 units for this day, which is our maximum stock level for each day.
    However, the receipt of 950 units on 09/17 is in reality received at the location on 09/16, because only one-day transport time is defined. Utilization of Goods Receipt Time is causing us to go over our max stock of 750 units defined. Any ideas how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks

    I would assume max stock level to be a softer constraint compared with meeting the demand on time. Can you confirm what would have happened had you received 950 units one day later, say by decreasing the GR days to 0 ? If the receipt date were pushed out without violating the max the stock level, I would conclude the max soft level to be a soft constraint.
    Also check the result when GR time is 2 days.
    I would also experiment with keeping inital stock on hand beyond the max stock level and watch it fall below max stock level before calling any receipts.

  • Procurement type u201CE (In-house production) u201D & u201CXu201D (Both procurement types)

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    What is the Deference between Procurement type u201CE (In-house production) u201D & u201CXu201D (Both procurement types)
    Cause after MRP run in Both cases I come across same options.
    With This Procurement type we can get plan order as well a Purchase requisition & all other option then what is the difference between E & X ?
    Best Regards,
    Parag.

    Dear Parag,
    This is flexibility given by SAP, suppose you have material which is produced in-house and procured from vendor also. In these cases the procurement type is kept X. The MRP will give planned order in case of X and you have liberty to create Production order and purchase requisition also.  This you can verify in MD04 for X procured material.

  • One Material with two Different In-House Production Days

    Dear Experts,
    We have 1 semi-finished material (HALB) that is common to two different locations (production version) with two different in-house Production days.  How can we separate the 2 different in- house prod. days for this specific material? Could we setup in the production version? if not, could you give us an advice.
    Ex:
    JDXZ011111 with Prod. version I000 = 3 days
    JDXZ011111 with Prod. version X000 = 1 day
    We are hoping for your help..
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Marnelli

    Dear Mamelli,
    1.You cannot maintain  the in-house production time in the production version.
    2.In-house production time in days can be maintained in MRP2 view.
    3.If Lead time scheduling is carried out at the time of MRP run then the system uses the in-house time for the calcualtion onf basic
    start and end dates.Based on the routing data the system proposes the production start and end time.
    4.Generally exception messages 64     Production finish after order finish
    63     Production start before order start are  shown after MRP run.
    5.If basic scheduling is carried out then the system proposes only the basic dates.

  • Creation of Service Product with Set Type and Attribute

    Dear All,
    Please guide me with proper step by step process,
    How to create the product with the set type and attribute for service industry in sap crm 7.0
    Regards,

    Hi Nitin,
    Before creating the Service type of product, you have to define the Base category for Service type product. Generally the category for service will be created under the R3 hierarchy R3PRODSTYPE. You can create this category using the TCode:
    COMM_HIERARCHY. Here you have to select the product type as Service and have to assign the set types to the category.
    You can create a service product using the transaction : COMMPR01 -> Click on Service ICON -> Select the Category for Service Type. Then fill in the details for Service Product description, Service ID(Based on number range settings for products), Language.
    Also fill other details like Base Unit of measure, Pricing condition for different sales areas for the service product.
    Since you are using CRM7.0, you can do all these activities using a POWER USER role.
    For more information about Set types and hierarchies please refer the following help link:

  • In-House Product Clarification Request

    I came across this term "In-House Product Clarification Request" recently. However, I am not sure what this is. Can anybody clarify or provide some useful information? All I know now about this is that this is a type of General Notification.
    Thanks in advance,
    APS

    InHouse Product Clarification is a request sent from the Shop Floor to the Engineering and Design to report a problem pertaining to a product. The said product is usually an intermediate product used ina a stage of production and this product is responsible for some problems ocuuring at the shop floor.
    The IHPCR is sent to the Engineering and Design division reporting the issue and seeking a clarification on the desing or behaviour of the said product.
    If there is a fault with the engineering of the product, IHPCR is typically followed by an Engineering Change Request (ECR).

  • Kanban: in-house production. relation kanban - replenishment order

    Dear Experts,
    We are investigating the posibilities of using kanban for in-house production. We work with production orders. I have set the test system so it works with classic Kanban and a replenishment strategy that will create PP production ordres.
    The system works OK. When the KANBAn is set to EMPTY (in the kanban board for instance) , a replenishment element is generated. The relation is 1 KANBAN - 1 Production order.
    Is it possible to "assign" two KANBANS to a single replenishment element (productio order in my case)? In some cases two or more kanbans will be emptied at the same time (in the KANBAN board for instance), and this would reduce the "noise" in the system.
    Somehow in the documentation "PP-KANBAN" manual, inside "KANBAN control. in-house production" some other option to reduce the amount of production orders is mentioned, but not very clearly explained how to do this.
    Thanks for your answers,
    Arturo

    Hello,
    Your question is not clear to give correct feedback. Do you want to wprk with multiple KANBANS with production orders?
    I am not understanding about the sentence "reduce the amount of production orders"
    If you want to work work minimum production orders then you can automate the KANBAN replinishment through MRP.

  • Costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order

    Dear all,
    How the costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order completion?
    Edited by: Maulik on Jun 24, 2009 1:59 PM

    Dear Maulik,
    check Mr. Vinod's inputs abt costing
    1. Maintain following master data:
    MM01 Material Master with Costing and accounting view. Make sure all the cost Std, Moving avg etc is maintained along with valuation class in Accounting view 1. In costing tab pls make sure "with qty structure" and "Material Origin" are ticked.
    CS01 BOM with components marked with costing relevance in Status/Long Text Tab. Also check all the qty are correct.
    CR01 Work Center in Basic data tab maintain standard value key sau SAP1 and in costing tab maintain the workcenter, activity type and formulas (Usually standard formulas like for Machine Hours SAP006, Labour SAP007, Setup Activity SAP005 is used).
    KL01 Cretae activity types, in basic data tab maintain ATyp Category AS "1" and cost element (as provided by your FI Guy).
    KP26 Activity pricing, here with the combination of Activity type and the cost center you assign price to the activity.
    2. SPRO Activity
    Maintain Costing sheet IMGControllingProd cost controllingProd Cost PlanningBasic settingoverheadsdefine costing sheet.
    OKKN Define costing variant, you define costing type (In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to like std price, moving avg etc), Valuation Variant (defines how the prices are prioratized), date control and transfer structure.
    3. Costing Process Flow:
    1. CK11N CREATE COSTING RUN
    2. CK24 CREATE PRICE UPDATE (You Mark and release the prce to be updated)
    4. COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    1. OPL1 DEFINE COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    2. OKK4 or OPN2 DEFINE VALUATION VARIANT
    3. OKK1 or OPM1 DEFINE COSTING TYPE
    4. OPL8 ORDERTYPE DEPENDENT PARAMETER (assign the above creted costing type for both planned and actual)
    Hope this will throw some light on product costing.
    Regards

  • Configure-to-Order (CTO) Production with Variant Configuration and Assembly

    We are trying to create a Configure-to-Order (CTO) Production with Variant Configuration and Assembly Processing.
    I have set up the required master data for variant configuration which is working fine in a sales order. I have used startegy group 82 in the MRP view of the material master for Finished goods/header material. A production order with BOM explosion is getting generated automatically during the creation of the sales order.I have stock of components available. Uploaded using 561 movement type (unrestricted stock).The requirement class that is being determined is 201.
    ISSUE:
    Availability check of the components in the production order that is getting automatically generated during sales order creation is failing. The components are not getting confirmed inspite of initialising the stock of the components in the plant we are using.
    I am looking for pointers on the important settings related to the availability check in Configure to Order scenario that have to checked to resolve this issue.
    TIA

    Hi,
    Availability check controls for Production order will be done in OPJK for plant , order type combination. Based on the settings either for creation or release system will carry Availability check of components. you can set the controls such that release can be possible even if parts are missing.
    If you have settings to restrict the release if components are missing and there is stock in unrestricted, then you need to transfer the stock to the sales order using MB1B and 413 movement type so that system can recognize the availability and allow the release of order.
    Based on your requiremnts you can map the settings in OPJK
    Hope this will help

  • Non-youtube-vimeo video embed with controls?

    Hi,
    I noticed in Heathrowe's code you could bring in video from a youtube style site with controls already or you can call a video from your public html folder. I see that it says that playback controls are coded in but they do not work.
    Can someone tell me how to get them to work?
    It pulls in the videos just fine but I have several videos that need to be larger than youtube and more than 1 a week on vimeo for a portfolio.
    Here is the code:
    //Sample One
    //Append Video
    var vid = $("<video width='352' height='155' controls='controls'>" +
    "<source src='http://www.w3schools.com/html5/movie.mp4' type='video/mp4' />" +
    "<source src='http://www.w3schools.com/html5/movie.ogg' type='video/ogg' />" +
    "This browser is not compatible with HTML 5" +
    "</video>");
    sym.$("vcontainer").append(vid);
    vid.attr('autoplay','autoplay');
    vid.attr('preload','auto');
    the control='controls' looks to be the part I need but it doesn't work. Do I need some sort of player shell sitting in my public html folder as well?
    Thanks!

    Hi Darrell!
    Thank you very much. You are too kind. If you have a donation page, I would love to support you. Your information has been more than worth the price of admission (which, in this case, has been completely free).
    On a side note, I boiled your code down to this:
    var myvideo = sym.$("vcontainer");
    var vid = $("<video controls width='350' height='250'>" +
         "<source src='http://www.w3schools.com/html/movie.webm' type='video/webm' />" +
         "<source src='http://www.w3schools.com/html/movie.ogg' type='video/ogg' />" +
         "<source src='http://www.w3schools.com/html/movie.mp4' type='video/mp4' />" +
         "This browser is not compatible with HTML 5" +
         "</video>");
    sym.$("vcontainer").append(vid);
    myvideo.css({"width":vid.width(),"height":vid.height()});
    If you have a donation page and I donate, maybe you could explain in detail how the rest of the code works with all of the devices that you have in your example? Just a note: It is absolutely unneccessary for me to get to that point with my website but, hey, I like to learn.
    I see you have the code to get the video to work in all apple products, Android and to detect a browser if none of those work.
    Otherwise, I'll still donate anyway if you have a paypal connection! I'll check your site for now but if not, maybe you should put one up! Making people pay for knowledge is one thing. Putting in valuable time without expecting to receive compensation is another and I"m fully appreciative and willing to donate if possible.
    Thank you so much.

  • KANBAN ; In-house : working with plnd ord/mrp - 0005

    Hi
    Iam working on kanban in house production as the replensihment stratergy, i chose option 0005 (woring with planned orders/mrp). I had created the kanbans, triggered replenishment for a kanban, converted the planned order to prod ord, released it, carried out goods movement. Then i change the status of kanban to full( there is a minus sign on kanban saying that seperate GR not carried out,in control cycle i chose sep GR) When i try to withdraw quantity from kanban it says actual qty does not exist in kanban ( i still have the minus sign on kanban saying that sep GR is not posted - i did GR posting once by co15 and the other time thru MIGO), so NOW i changed the kanban status to empty and reversed the empty status to full by using pk31, the reversed kanban bin which is now to status full does not have the minus sign and it says that there is an actual qty of X, NOW i can use pk31 to withdraw qty from kanban...... .....
    iam not sure why this occurs or am i missing some information. ...any suggestions why this is happeningh.. ......... .is working with planned orders only for rep mfg or its also for discrete mfg ??????
    Shankar

    Hi ,
    Please confirm  if a material document is posted  when u did co15 or MIGO ..

  • In-house production time in MRP2 View

    Hi, Please advise what to mention in in-house production days field in mrp2 view, whether we need to mention the time required to  produce 1 part or any qty? please advise.

    Hi,
    Nice qns... but the answer would be a simple computation from the system. When it is lot-size independent, system just reads the value from IHPT, there is no calculation as such.
    But when it is lot size dependent, the system will compute the IHPT based on the values populated in the Lot-size dependent section of work-scheduling view.
    I would suggest instead of me writing a whole lot of stuff, take a material in your sandbox & do a simple test with a single operation routing. In the work center maintain formulas for Setup, Operation & in your routing maintain the hours for activities setup & machine. Now in the routing itself click on Extras - Scheduling - Schedule & do the scheduling. Click on Scheduling results you will get the details. Now update the material master.
    Now create the production order for different quantity & notice the difference in dates. This will clarify your doubt as to how system would know.
    Revert if you face any issues.

    Vivek

  • Can we use MRP to plan for FERT in-house produced  with PIR's & has Min/Max

    Hi SAP Guru's
    I have a very critical issue from the client who wants to use MIN/ MAX stock values for planning its finished products (in-house produced)
    <b>here is the details of the scenario</b>
    Client recieves 2 Excel files every week from customer
    <b>1st</b> file contains the Weekly Demand Forecast of FERT material for next 1 year and they upload it in MD61 as PIR's <u><b>BUT</b></u> this value is also <u><b>Inclusive</b></u> of Safety stock value (<b>ex: if weekly demand entered in MD61 as PIR is 50 and if safety stock value is 10, then actual demand is only 40)</b>
    <b>2nd</b> file send contains only <b>safety stock values</b> (for ex in this case let it = <b>10</b>) to be maintained for the FERT materials
    the client wants MRP to plan and trigger based on this PIR's in MD61 and Safety stock level fand plan for FERT, HALB and also ROH materials as defined in the BOM also taking into consideration the current WIP levels (Work in progress for any existing production orders currently being processed) based on the production Lead times values maintained
    so what the client wants is they want to maintain 2 stock values, that is one least stock value and other higher value which if stock falls below this point, will trigger production based on the lead time and considering any WIP levels also
    <b>(for ex in this case if PIR = 50 and safety stock is 10, MRP run result client wants is = 30 and NOT =40)</b>
    so here are my questions
    1. is this scenario feasible? use safety stock and min/max level for in-house produced finished which has demand PIRs in MD61 at the same time?
    2. Also due to SOX complaince regulations, the client does not want to change the forecast values in MD61, so is it possible to make some settings so that forecast is corrected by WIThOUT including the safety stock value in it? ( for ex: in this case as = 40 only and NOt as 50)
    3. which all settings should i maintain like for MRP type or lot size or stock qty levels or anyother customizations if any required so that when we run MRP, can it ignore the safety stock value and generate the client desired output?
    thank u verymuch for your time & expert advice in advance

    Hi Chakri,
    This is not possible as per standard functionality. MRP always creates proposals for the shortage quantity of the safety stock. We have used the user exit in the plant level MRP run to exclude both plant and safety stock in the net requirements calculation.
    You have to write logic to convert the safety stock into plant stock in the user exit so there will be no additional procurement proposals...you can create custom indicatar in materail master or linked any existing indicator like MRP group to the user exits so the MRP will checks this and will not create proposals for the selected parts.
    If you have any questions then please inform.
    Regards
