i want to create new add-on in sap which has already developed in VB(eg: payroll) .
What are the steps followed when converting VB project into SAP Add on ?
Suggest me a good method ..

If you want it in SAP.Your project needs to be a windows application with no form, the best would be to create a new project, and copy the code over. You are going to have to go through all of it as you'll now be using SAP forms and need to adjust it so it doesn't look at the window form objects.....If you are a real dare devil.... i know in the older version of sap, i think 6.5 you could build your forms in windows and there was a method to convert the forms to SBO forms....i think that was great...don't know why they dropped it. Then just remember that sap worked very hard on backward compatibility. But once you got the forms who said you can't recomplie with a later version to upgrade?? get the picture
If you want a more simple solution. leave your code the way it is in windows, then just use the di api to connect to the sbo database and add the entries straight through the di api. This application will be outside of sap but the transactions will be inside of sap. So at the end of each procedur right the contents to sap.

I want to submit SharePoint app to Office app store, I road the "Validation policies for the apps submitted to the Office Store : "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj220035(v=office.15)
and the Point 5.9 mention:
"Your app for SharePoint cannot request full-control permission. Apps for SharePoint that request full-control permissions are not accepted in the Office Store."
I need to know if this point applied on site collection, web or List. because my app need to add files to hosted web, and it seem there is bug with "write permission" then I should use "full-control permission" on list.
any suggested solution will highly appreciated

Below configuration will be enough for adding files. Yes 'Full control' can't be placed on Office store.

My iphone has recently loss about 10G of memmory. I check through settings/general/usage, all apps I had add up to less than 2G. I used to be able to take around 2hrs of video and now I can't take any. Can anyone help? Thanks

I used to be able to take around 2hrs of video as I like to record down whatever happening in front of my car when I'm driving. I delete the videos everyday ifn nothing special. It seems that lately when I deleted the videos, they're not removed from the phone's memmory.
I check form setting/general/usage : all my apps add up to less than 2G. In itune, it shows all memmary is under the catagory "other". Is there any way I can access this "other" memmory to see what's in it and delete the things I don't want to regain the loss memmory?

You could always try restoring, although maybe someone else on here has a better idea.
Hopefully by posting this, it will bump up and someone with more iPhone troubleshooting experience might chime in.
As for the videos - interesting! Do you have the iPhone on one of those window holders, or do you hold it in your hand since that might ironically distract you, unless you've gotten very good at it!

VB6 app won't run CR 11 reports

Here's the problem.
I have end-user who want to run Crystal reports, but wants their own custom interface for selecting report criteria, etc. I've written a VB6 SP6 application, (yes, I know it's archaic, but that's what I have to work with). I am running Crystal 11 Pro, Full license and everything works fine. I put the VB6 app on the end-users machine and the calls to Crystal do nothing. I understand that I would need the developers version of Crystal (not Pro) to distribute the CR runtime and use merger modules to include everything necessary in the VB6 Install package in order to distribute the runtime, however, the end-user has a full version of Crystal 11 Pro installed on their machine, so I shouldn't need to distribute the runtime. Am I missing something here?? Why won't the program run the CRViewer or print the reports? I get absolutely nothing. Thanks for any help provided.

I ended up paying for a single indicent support session, but here's the solution.
When I purchased CRXI r2 SP4 Full Developer from the Business Objects e-store (Digital River) I was given a keycode that starts with the letter 'B' to activate and register my product. After talking with the tech I found out that the 'B' keycode is an R1 keycode, not an R2 keycode, and although I could create reports, etc. there was no way that the 'B' keycode would allow me to build the distribution package. I needed to obtain an R2 keycode which shoulld start with the letter 'C'. I also needed to download the correct merge modules for the version of Crystal Developer that I had installed. After some jerking around with your Sales Dept. (who downgraded me to R1 because they said I had a valid R1 keycode, but I still couldn't get it to work) they finally got me an R2 keycode. I then reinstalled R2. I also had to have the most recent merge modules (the ones I downloaded just 1 week earlier would not work). The free Visual Studio 6 installer downloaded from Microsoft works fine for building the .msi installer file and ORCA worked fine for editing the merge modules to incorporate my CR developers keycode.
So the bottom line is: you must have all the Business Objects elements synchronized perfectly or you won't be able to build a distribution package. By Business Objects elements I mean: the version of CR Developer matches to the version of the merge modules and you have to have a correctly matched keycode from Business Objects. Can't for the life of me figure out why they would distribute an invalid keycode with the product, but that's what happened to me.
Everything is working fine now, thanks for all your help Dan, and BTW, the tech support guy Jonathan was phenomenal. Knew right away what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. The extended time required to fix all this falls back on the B/O Sales Dept. who distributed an invalid keycode in the first place and then balked at getting me a correct keycode.

What happens when you try to buy something, does the 'buy' button not work, do you get any error messages ... ?

How to get rid of Registration Wizard screen when compiling VB6 app?

I have inherited a VB6 application that uses CR 10. I have a fresh Win XP w/SP2 installation, I have a fresh Visual Studio 6 w/ SP5 installation. And I have a brand new copy, supplied by SAP of CR 10. When I compile the VB6 app I get multiple instances of the CR Registration Wizard with my serial number already filled in and grayed out. But I can't get rid of these registration nags. I've found no solution in the knowledge base. Any help is appreciated.

Go to the Download page and install all of the available patches.
Then check the Life Cycle page, CR 10 has been out of support for 4 or 5 years now. If you fully supported product then purchase CR 2008 or wait a little for CR 2010/2011.

Change geolocation preference on apps generated from "add to homescreen" from browser?

Geolocation access is now denied on any web app generated from "Add to homescreen" bookmarking from the browser. Web apps like Google Map worked fine and I used to be able to get my current location but after a geolocation preference prompt came up out of nowhere and I accidentally clicked "deny", now geolocation access is denied for full screen web apps saved to home screen. If I run the same page on the browser it's still fine.
I would like to know if there's a way to reset that preference options. Thanks.

I did but turned out I accidentally turned off geolocation for "Settings" the app under App permissions which effectively turning it off for all those "add to homescreen" web apps.
Thanks for the suggestions anyway. By the way , I just came across this site m.scout.me, which provides free html5 turn-by-turn voice guided navigation. That's why I wanted to fix this issue so I could use this web app in full screen mode.

Need help to develop app to remotely add tags to iTunes music from iPhone

I have recently developed a simple app that sits on my desktop and allows me to add specific tags/text to the 'comment' field of the currently playing track in my iTunes library, the text added depending on the item clicked in some drop-down menus.
This is fine for when I am sitting at my Mac, but most of the time I would like to be able to add tags from a distance, i.e. remotely, using the iPhone, so I started to develop my first iPhone app for this purpose.
I have succesfully designed a simple Tab Bar Application, with two views, which have all the buttons I need, but now I am stumped as to how to set up the remote part of the app. On the Desktop version I simply wrote some applescript with sections for each of the menu items. On the iPhone I am not sure how I would go about this.
Any help with this, either with the procedure I need to follow, or pointing me in the right direction of a tutorial or some such thing, would be gratefully received.

Do you mean write access to the iTunes library, rather than iPod library?
If so, if I can accomplish my task with getting the iPhone app to interact with the Desktop app that would be fine. However, I have no idea of how to go about this. Can you give me any pointers?
The desktop app basically consists of a few drop down menus with items that are linked to sections in the project's applescript, which tell iTunes to add specific text to the comments field.

ITunes Remote app on iPad: "Add to Up Next" as default?

Hi,
with iTunes 11 the iTunes DJ functionality has been removed from iTunes.
Some say that it has been further integrated as "Up Next" - which has been done so well, that you can't find it anymore.
If you now want to add a title to the playlist, you need to press a little arrow which opens a menu where you can select "Add to Up Next".
The problem is that this does not work properly on a party with unexperienced users.
They find a title, tap on it and then it directly starts playing and interrupts the current title.
Is there any way with a setting in iTunes or the iTunes Remote app to have the "Add to Up Next" functionality as default when you tap on a title?

I too have this problem and made it worse. Under Mavericks and iOS7 everything set up very easily and worked beautifully like Apple stuff usually does. Then a couple of weeks ago I took the dive and updated to Yosemite, iTunes 12 and iOS8 and then I would occasionally lose connection with my iTunes library as described by the second poster. Very aggravating. So I made a bigger mistake and deleted the library from my iPad Remote app and whenever I started it up again it would say 'Add a device'. I clicked and a randomly generated 4 digit number appears with the exact instructions: 'To add an iTunes library, open iTunes on your computer and choose Remote from the tab bar'. I went to iTunes and searched EVERYWHERE for this Remote tab bar and could not find it. I then went to iTunes Preferences: Devices and clicked the button 'Forget All Remotes' thinking this may reset something in iTunes and make the Remote tab appear somehow to start from scratch. Wrong! Now there is absolutely no connection between the Remote app on my devices and iTunes on my computer.
Can anyone point me to this Remote tab in iTunes?? If I can find that then I think I should be able to fix this.

Problem connection to database when opening Crystal Report in VB6 app

Hi all, first post, so be gentle!
I've developed a simple app and database using VB6 and SQL Server 2005 and is seems to be working well when i test it.
Problem i have is after i installed the app on another PC. When the user tries to open the report they get an error when the report tries to connect to the database. It appears the report is trying to connect to the SQL Server using the user's AD account details, yet i set the report up with a trusted connection. I created a replica ODBC connection (as used by me when designing the report) on the users PC to see if that was what was missing. THis was set up to use the generic SQL Server logon details. Unfortubately the report is still trying to connect with the user's AD details.
I had a bash at creating the VB commands to set the connection settings, but i couldn't get this to work.
If anyone can help point me in the right direction or show me the correct code/steps to get th connection details correct, i'd be very grateful.

Here is an article on how to distribute the runtime using msm files. I think the articles was written in CR 9, but all applies, save the names of the msm files:

ITunes File Sharing under Device/Apps does not add content to my iPhone. Why not?

I have attempted to get iTunes File Sharing:
1. Select your device (in my case an iPhone 4).
2. Click on the Apps tab.
3. Select an application that allows for File Sharing and either drag a document or file into the documents area or use the Add button to get the file added.
4. Click the sync button to sync the content to your device.
I cannot get this to work. I have attempted to uninstall iTunes and all components and have also called Apple Support with no resolution. Has anyone else seen this issue and if so do you have a resolution?
I have tried with multiple applications as well as multiple files with no luck.
Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

Windows 8 Mail App - Can't add IMAP account

Hi all, I have been playing with Win8 for a few weeks now and love it. My only concern is that I can't use the Mail App to connect to my hosted email accounts via IMAP, every time I add the settings it tells me:

I have exactly the same settings in Outlook on the same PC in desktop mode and it works fine, as well as connecting from all of my mobile devices. I can't even find where to look for additional info on the error.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Mail App.
I've tried manually adding the server settings to no avail.
I've confirmed my account supports IMAP and proven it is working in Outlook.
Any thoughts please?
