VCP patch 14247039 and MSRNW

Hi All,
I am installing patch 14247039 in a Linux 64 bit enviornment and it fails for linking on MSRNW, the IO executable. On my system the executable is MSRNWL64.exe, among others
The makefile has:
MSRNEW = $(MSR_TOP)/$(APPLBIN)/MSRNEW$(EXE_EXT)
# List of modules to link
#CPP_LDFLAGS= -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -lclntsh
all: $(MSRNEW)
$(MSRNEW): $(RMSRNEW) $(MSR_TOP)/$(APPLLIB)/msrnew.$(OBJ_EXT) $(LMSRLIB) \
$(LMSOLIB) $(LFNDLIB) $(LMSCLIB)
$(CPP_LD) $(CPP_LDFLAGS) $(AIX_LARGE_MAXDATA) $(OUTFLAGS)$@ \
$(MSR_TOP)/$(APPLLIB)/msrnew.$(OBJ_EXT) \
$(LMSRLIB) $(LMSOLIB) $(LMSCLIB) $(LMSOLIB) $(LMSCLIB) $(ILOGLIBS) $(LFNDLIB) \
$(CPLEXLIBS) \
$(LFNDLIB) $(ORACLE_LINK) $(CPP_LIBS) $(RMSRNEW)
$(CHMOD) 755 $@
$(MCS) $@
$(BUILDEXE_WITH_MT)
It appears it is trying to compile MSRNEWL64.exe not MSRNWL64.exe,
The error I get is
g++: /ERP2/ebs2/p01/oracle/PLAN/apps/apps_st/appl/msr/12.0.0/bin/MSRNEW: No such file or directory
make: *** [ERP2/ebs2/p01/oracle/PLAN/apps/apps_st/appl/msr/12.0.0/bin/MSRNEW] Error 1
Any thoughts?

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Please see (R12: MSC Modules Error Out When Relinking with Adrelink [ID 1345788.1]).
You can relink other executable files via adadmin (if they are not relinked via adadmin).
Thanks,
Hussein

  • 11.2.0.3 Patch Bundle and opatch installation approach

    Hi,
I have installed the below 11.2.0.3 (64 bit) products in my windows 2008 server
    1. Oracle Grid Infrastructure for standalone server
    2. Oracle database server software and created a standalone database with ASM in this home.
Now i need to apply Update 5 patch bundle and some bug fix patches.
Since there are 2 home in my server what is the right approach for applying the patch bundle and opatch ?
When i went through the patch bundle installation document i could see these 2 options
    1. Patch Installation Instructions for Single Instance
    2. Patch Installation Instructions for RAC
Since i have 2 homes (OraCrs11g_home1 & OracDb11g_home1 ) in my server i am not sure which patch installation option i should choose and proceed.
    Can someone assist me ?
    Thanks,
    Ashok Kumar.G

no we have to prepare a test POC but we don't have Xterm so had to use silent mode.using VNC server is best option to install or upgrade databases/grid Infrastructure.
VNC server runs on the server and no fear of loosing network connection as in case of connecting thorugh putty.
also you can open GUI in VNC server without need of any xterm or xwindows .
So ask your SA to install VNC on your server and use it.

  • OSB Patch TYBN and U37G - ws-security interoperability

    Hi All,
I am using weblogic 9.x style security with OSB 11g which will be communicating with OWSM enabled weblogic server on the server side.
    According to the below URL
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e16098/interop_osb.htm
    +"Note:+
+Ensure that you have downloaded and applied the TYBN and U37Z patches released for Oracle Service Bus 10.3 using the patch tool."+
I will have to apply patch TYBN and U37Z to oracle service bus domain
where will I find these two patches? I went to oracle support site and searched for these patches, could not find any of these two.

    Hi Sebastian,
Have you tried adding a "XML Transform" policy?

  • Ise patch 1 and 2 for 1.1.4 problem with resetting-application

    Hi guys,
For your info. ISE patch 1 and 2 got the same problem on 1.1.4. If you got patches installed and tries to reset the application of ISE the monitoring applets are all gone. It's loading an empty page. Solution: rollback any installed patches. Monitoring is back up again. Install the patches again and erverything is fine. Took me one afternoon to figure this out.

    Hi Ravi,
Do you know, what is going wrong? I'm wondering if everything is working correctly and if patches are applied correctly.

  • Do we need to run patch-config and install-newconfig

    Hi Team,
I have a scenario wherein I have installed the JES2005Q4 messaging server :
    bash-3.00# ./imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.04 (built Jul 15 2005)
    libimta.so 6.2-3.04 (built 01:43:03, Jul 15 2005)
    SunOS sunjes22 5.10 Generic_118833-33 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-100
    bash-3.00#
I have not configured this box. (Initial run time config is not executed.)
I would be updating the latest patch 118207-63 on this box.
Do we need to run the patch-config and install-newconfig after executing the patchadd command.
This is a fresh installation of the messaging server without any configurations being done
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I don't know if it is required, but best to err on the side of caution. Worst case nothing will be patched/modified (or there will be an error and the scripts will crash). Either way a valuable learning experience.
btw. Why not install comm-suite-5 (Messaging Server 6.3)?
    Regards,
    Shane.

  • 6i with patch 10 and get FRM-92150: WEB CLient Version too new...

    I have a form 6i and I installed patch 10 and after I do that, I have a error...
FRM-92150: WEB CLient Version too new...
I check both my jinitiator and the config file in the server are the same... any advices?
    Thanks

    1. Telling you to move this isn't helping you. I understand why you want you want to keep your forum clean, but I see this all the time and all it does is create dead end links.
Why don't you move it and e-mail the person having an issue??
    2. Your solution might be to clear the Jar Cache. On Windows this would be in the JInitiator Control Panel.
    3. If you ran an update and then rebuilt the server back to the prevoius version you might create this error. In my humble opinion Application Server - General isn't that far off when you don't know the cause.
    Thanks!

  • Patch 10 and 11 Install Problems

My application worked very successfully, using the servlet with all patches up to and including 9 using the 1.1 Jinitiator versions. I wanted to look at the time zone features and applied patch 10, and then 11. The servlet test appears to work in the new patches 10 and 11.
Using the latest 1.1 Jinitiator in either patch 10 and 11, I get "92102 - Negative or zero content-length" when starting the application. Does anyone know what this means, and/or what cures the problem?
Using the 1.3 JInitiator, I get "frm-92150 Web Client Version too New" I have not seen this one before either and scant reference to it - only on Solaris - with solutions not applicable to Windows 2000. Again any ideas are welcome.
    Many thanks,

It's worth clearing the JInitator Cache to try and get rid of the Client too New message. The other error is due to a problem in the contents of the HTTP header - We've only seen that with IE on Mac and the Apple MRJ in the past - double check that you are using the correct Jinit 1.1 version for those patches.
If clearing the cache does not fix the client too new then try with one of the other JARS e.g f60all rather than f60all_jinit. It may be that the JARs are out of sync with the Server - for instance if something had one of the JARs open when you installed so it was not overwritten with the new version.

  • Zenworks patch management and databases

Are there any known issues of Zenworks patch management deployment and corruption of Zenworks database? What would be best practices of Patch Managment and the Zenworks database?

Otherwise this table can grow very large and cause issues.
I believe 11.3 will have some redesign that will reduce the overhead
with that table and perhaps allow for longer retentions.

Novell does not officially monitor these forums.
Suggestions/Opinions/Statements made by me are solely my own.
These thoughts may not be shared by either Novell or any rational human.
And if you have say, 4,000 devices or more, I'd suggest even setting it down to 1 day or 7 days at the max. And set it WHEN you setup ZCM, not afterwards, because the database purge/changing isn't optimized properly (at least for Oracle).
Even with 7 days for us, it takes forever to delete a workstation/device along with a slew of other things. But Novell is aware of these things, and hopefully 11.3 will address most of the speed/performance issues.

  • DST Patch Prerequisites and Software Updates

Mixed environment with PowerMac G5 PPC that are running Tiger 10.4.2 and some 10.4.6. Want to make sure that these machines are updated correctly with the Daylight Saving Time changes in 2007 without impacting customers.
Will have to be accomplished manually, (still in the process of obtaining Apple Remote Desktop)
Would probably prefer manual updates at this time due to Prerequisites and without impacting production.
Questions are mixed and confirmation is needed:
    # 1) Apple is indicating that the Daylight Saving Time Update (Tiger)Post Date: February 15, 2007, has a system requirement Mac OS X 10.4.8 (Client or Server). Does this mean that OSX needs to be updated to v 10.4.8 in order for the manual DST patch to work?
    # 2) Seems to be a contradiction regarding if the DST patch is and was implemented with various updates up to 10.4.8. Again according to Apple the DST rule changes for the United States and most of Canada are already available in Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later. Since I have around 70% of PPC already updated to 10.4.6 is the DST needed?
    # 3) The remaining G5 PPC that currently are running 10.4.2 based on above will have to be updated with the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update (combo) I am pretty nervous based on this update being successful, even with permission repair prior to update etc....
    The Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update (combo) updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3, 10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, or 10.4.7 to version 10.4.8 on both Intel-based Macs and PowerPC-based Macs.
    # 4) Do all current Tiger OS version need to be updated to 10.4.8 to assure that DST patch is installed?
Confirmation - Information or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
    PowerMac G5 2.5 Mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.2)   Mixed PPC 10.4.2 & 10.4.6
    PowerMac G5 2.5 Mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    Brian--
Since the 10.4.6 update as you indicate above fixes
the DST problem for US locations that affects my
    customers
(We are in the US) and our time zone. There would be
no reason to update these machines to 10.4.8 since
they already are updated to 10.4.6 and addresses my
immediate concern which is the DST issue.
Well, if you only deal with local time on your computers, it probably won't make a difference. It's when you're trying to calculate times in different time zones where the times could get off. So email headers and downloaded files might have strange time stamps off by an hour in some cases. Those are the kinds of non-obvious activities that could be affected.
" Updating to 10.4.8 alone won't do it, obviously,
    you'd need the DST patch"
Now I am really confused since this URL and your
comments contradict this documentation for Apple. If
having the 10.4.6 version of Tiger and it already has
the DST patch why are you saying that 10.4.8 alone
    won't do it??
Well, there are really two issues: Apple updated the US time zone files and most of Canada in 10.4.5. So if you update to 10.4.5 or later, you'd get these changes. However, one location that didn't get updated was Vancouver. You can check it from the Terminal app like this:
    <pre class="command">zdump -v /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver | grep 2007</pre>If you have 10.4.8 with the extra DST update, you'll see the following:
    <pre class="command">/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver Sun Mar 11 09:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 01:59:59 2007 PST isdst=0
    /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver Sun Mar 11 10:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 03:00:00 2007 PDT isdst=1
    /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver Sun Nov 4 08:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:59:59 2007 PDT isdst=1
/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver Sun Nov 4 09:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:00:00 2007 PST isdst=0</pre>If you just have 10.4.5 or later, but no DST update, the spring times will be three weeks later (Apr 1, I think), and the fall ones will be a week earlier. And it's the same for a few other locations and time zones in Canada and around the world.
Maybe I am reading into this but there seems to be
    conflicting documentation here.
Well, I can see where that page might be kind of confusing, but, in a nutshell, it says that if you have 10.4.5 or later, you have some, but not all, of the DST changes for 2007 installed on your system. If you follow the link at the end of the Mac OS X 10.4 and Mac OS X Server 10.4 Tiger section, it links to a page that has a bit more information on the February 2007 DST update. That update has all the changes as of January 8, 2007.
