Verizon (A1549) Phone on other CDMA network

I purchased unlocked Verizon (A1549) phone in USA. As per phone specification, It will work on CDMA & GSM both.
But In India, Its working fine on all GSM networks but Its not working on CDMA network. Verizon's phone are CDMA locked phone ? Why CDMA network shows "NO SIM" message ?

CDMA is neither locked nor unlocked. That term only has meaning for GSM. Verizon iPhones are unlocked and will work on any GSM carrier. In order for a phone to work on a CDMA carrier, the phone's information has to be loaded into the carrier's database before it can bet activated. Most carriers in the U.S. will not do that. You need to buy a phone from them that is already in their system. Contact your CDMA carrier and see what they are willing to do. Otherwise, you will only be able to use the phone on GSM/4G LTE networks.

Most CDMA phones will only work on the network they are branded to.  The carriers usually do not allow other brands of phones on their cdma networks.

Sprint is a CDMA carrier, same as Verizon so it will work on CDMA.

  • If I buy a Verizon/Sprint Phone from Apple at full price can I put an ATT SIM in it and run on ATT network?

If I buy a Verizon/Sprint Phone from Apple Unlocked at full price, can I put an ATT SIM and Run on the ATT network?

    Verizon: Yes.
    Sprint: No.
Sprint iPhones can not be used on any U.S. carrier other than Sprint. They can only be unlocked by Sprint for use on non-US carriers, and then only for current Sprint customers in good standing.

  • HT1430 Ipurchased a iphone 4s 8gb in jakarta. it was able to recognise only 2 network providers sim card (mentari & xl).it colud not recognise any other service provider sim cards. How can I use this GSM phone across other countries having different servi

I purchsed an apple iphone 4s(8gb) GSM phone in jakarta from authorised apple store on 22/3/2014.The phone could recognise only 2 network service providers out of many that are available .Despite all efforts (approximately 6 hours) to make the phone recognise other sim cards, nothing could be done. The  reseller finally begged excuse and said that this phone was meant for use only in indonesia with only 2 service provide(xl & mentari).& with no other service providers at all. That sounds weird to me. At the end of the day, the reseller finally cancelled my transaction and i had to return back home sad &  empty  handed.
Apple, do u have  any answer to this issue with your i phone 4s 8gb in Indonesia?

No, only the iPads specifically for CDMA networks are able to use those networks. I believe that the radio card has both, but it isn't activated on a GSM iPad.

  • Disappointed Verizon does  not include headphones with flagship phone when other carriers do

I just switched to Verizon from Sprint and received my pre-ordered Note 4 today via FedEx.  I was really disappointed  when I did not see the mp3 headset, as I could have sworn I saw it in "whats in the box" online.    I then realized when I was looking at "whats in the box" for the Note 4, I was looking at Sprint's website rather than Verizon.   I then googled it and realized that Verizon did this with the Note 3 as well as other flagship phones.
I know the headphones are not super expensive but it just leaves an initial bad taste when buying such an expensive product and committing to service for two years.

With all disrespect your post is completely incorrect.    The 4 major carriers negotiate with Samsung into how their retail packages will be boxed and what will be included.   This was not human error.  Headphones are missing from all Verizon Note 4 retail boxes because Verizon saved money by having Samsung exclude them.   ATT did the same.   Sprint and TMobile retail packages include headphones because that is what they arranged with Samsung.    The Note 4 is not by any means the first example of this.   This has been Verizon's practice on previous Note phones and other models as well.  I don't get why on a $700 phone Verizon/ATT has to cheap out on this.  If you search the net you will see a lot of rants on this - though it may be a small group - Verizon definitely loses customers because of this type of stuff

  • HT4199 I have a new iPhone 4s.  I have a home wi-fi network using Cisco Linksys2000 router with all settings per this article - phone will not see network if set to 5 GHz channel width - solution??  2.4 works but is not optimal with other devices in home

I have a new iPhone 4s.  I have a home wi-fi network using Cisco Linksys2000 router with all settings per this article - phone will not see network if set to 5 GHz channel width - solution??  2.4 works but is not optimal with other devices in home (computers; tivo).  Have others seen this?  Any advice is much appreciated.

Stephen Spark is right - your best alternative is to use a simultaneous dual band wireless router like the AirPort Extreme. Your Cisco Linksys2000 is not a dual band router, meaning that it will be constrained to operate at the slowest speed of all the devices on your network.
The AirPort Extreme's dual networks will support all your 802.11n devices as well as all your 802.11b/g devices on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies simultaneously.

  • Unlocking BB 8530 from verizon and using in INDIA( CDMA provider Reliance)

I have Verizon Blackberry 8530 that i dont use now. Can i use this phone in Reliance India(CDMA provider ) in India once I unlock this phone? Reliance india is a CDMA provider. I have 8530 CDMA verizon?Cannt find sim card in this phone?

CDMA devices do not make use of a SIM card.
Many CDMA network providers require purchase of device from their own seller. I don't know about Reliance, you will need to ask them.

  • Possible to use iPhone on GSM and CDMA networks?

If I have a SIM for one of the iphones that supports versions of both CDMA and GSM, could I actually switch between, say, Verizon in the US and foreign networks wihile overseas?

The only phones you can use on Verizon's network are ones that were originally sold as "Verizon" phones. This is true of, as far as I know, all CDMA carriers. Verizon will unlock the GSM side of an iPhone 4S for international use for their own customers. Other CDMA carriers have other policies. The Verizon iPhone 5 and later are unlocked and will work on any GSM network.
An unlocked phone purchased from the Apple Store will not work on a CDMA carrier.

  • HT3939 I may want to use iPhone 5 for CDMA network in Myanmar.

We understand that iPhone 5  (model A1429) can be used for GSM and CDMA network.
We used normal SIM card for CDMA net work. I will request nano sim card  telecom to use in iPhone 5.
Please confirm that A1429 model can use for Myanmar CDMA network.
    Thank

No.  The CDMA section of the phone is permanetly locked to a specific CDMA carrier such as Verizon or Sprint. IT can't be unlocked and used elsewhere.

  • A1586 iphone 6 and CDMA network

As per apple website , iphone 6 model number A1586 should support CDMA network. I am trying to put Reliance sim in my mobile but not working . Anyone can help me to know for what reason my iphone is not detecting CDMA signals ?

The 2 iPhones that you can purchase in the US that are CDMA phones are Sprint and Verizon.
If you purchase a Verizon phone, then it comes unlocked and there is a sim card holder on the phone that is unlocked that is for use with other GSM networks, no CDMA networks.  The fact that you are trying to use another CDMA network could be your problem - it could be the case that the phone will only support the CDMA network in the US and not another country.
Try inserting another GSM sim card in the sim card try and the phone should work.

  • Why does Verizon hide the fact on their network an iPhone cannot deliver simultaneous voice and data

For me the breaking point was when the local Corporate Store clerk lied to be about their return policy.  He even documented the information he gave me and that didn't matter to management or corporate.  I made a decision to switch to the iPhone and was specifically told I had 30 days to evaluate weather I could make the transition from android to iOS.  If I couldn’t for any reason, I could just return the phone and pay the $35 restocking fee and we were then free to choose from one of the many androids.
After weeks of challenges and countless hours spent with first tier then second tier then a product specialist we all came to the documented conclusion that the iPhone, on Verizons network could not support data and voice at the same time... Every other smart phone on Verizons network could and always has... the IPhone on ATT's network can support both voice and data at once... but Not On Verizons network...
Each tech I spoke with seemed shocked and in utter disbelief that this could be so. They blamed ATT for harboring special privileges hold over from their exclusive relationship with Apple.  Which is not true.  Then they blamed Apple for delivering handicapped phones to Verizon on purpose. Well, with an Apple Product Manager on the phone listening in on a Verizon Tech giving me this among other excuses why I could not be on the phone and using google at the same time,  the Apple Rep finally jumped in and very politely cleared up any miss information the Verizon tier 2 support rep was fumbling out.
So after I had done everything in my power to make the phone work the way I had understood it would.  And had every reason to believe it would.  As did every Verizon rep I spoke with at first until they did a little research and found Verizon had deliberately been hiding this fact from customers.  So I conceded to go back to the Android world for now and let Verizon sort out this glaring deficit hopefully in the near future…  Though every support rep concluded that there was no mention of this being fixed or even a problem so not to hold my breath…
I couldn’t have been more shocked or infuriated when I went to exchange the “still in the plastic mint condition iPhone” I was told I had to have brought it back in the first 14 days… I pleaded and argued, even directed the manager to the notes entered in verizon’s own support documentation regarding my case and he said “well I see here where you were told that but that rep was wrong”.   That may be so but I based my entire testing and evaluation timeline based on the dates the rep clearly and admittedly told me!   The store manager said there was nothing he could do.
Now I mentioned I’m a Network Solutions Provider and being able to be on the phone doing a support call and using my cellular internet at the same time are an absolute must for me to be able to preform my job.  Every Verizon smart phone I have ever owned had been able to do this.  Now I am told I am STUCK in a two year contract with an inadequate  device that I cannot exchange and therefore functionally useless to me.
Verizon corporate nor the store manager cared one bit about my position.  They stood behind a little register tape that by signing my credit card receipt I now owed them two more years of my life and now they could care less weather I had a functioning solution or that I had been a loyal customer for over 17 years. Or that I had brought entire small business offices to them for cell services. Just stood there and held a copy of my receipt and said, well  you signed it so here is what it will cost ya to get out of it!
He got out a calculator and started running numbers for what I would have to pay to fix this situation… What I would have to pay to even leave Verizon and go get cell service from someone else.  It felt dirty … seedy… like being at some 3rd world used car lot where some shyster had gotten someone wrapped up in a contract and now was going to squeeze the life out of a customer even though they couldn’t’ even deliver the service they implied you were going to get in the first place.
In 30 years of being a small business owner I have never encountered an organization that had less integrity or more unscrupulous business practices…
I see post after post of Verizon  Customer Support  reps answering threads… funny I haven’t found one where a user honestly thanks the rep for actually helping them out…….  Please Verizon Customer Support, show me you actually can look at a situation and see an equitable solution where a Customer and the Share Holders can both win…..

Well if this information was as ubiquitous on the web as you suggest, I am puzzled why it took three weeks of troubleshooting with many levels of Verizon support before we collectively concluded this was the situation...
Regarding Reading what I sign... Thanks for that advice though in this situation I was handed a stylus and told to sign a Signature Pad at the check out counter... ONLY AFTER I signed (for the purchase only)  was I presented with this return policy conveniently nested in a 3 foot long reciept consisting of paragraphs of Helvitica 6 type set info...   I made the assumption that the sales person could correctly  answer a direct question regarding the policy I  inadvertently signed for when authorizing the credit card charge...   Even more concerning is that when by my actions and constant communications with Verizon, my intent was clearly based on the information I had gotten from the sales rep.  and if I was given misinformation it would seem Verizon could show some integrity and support the situation with some equitable solution rather than hiding behind contracts collected from sales staff who do not tell customers the truth.....

  • How to download pics from Verizon cell phone to ipad2?

How to download pics from Verizon cell phone to ipad2?

Is it an iPhone ? If it is and you don't want to go via your computer and iTunes, then the camera connection kit can connect the iPhone to the iPad and can copy photos to the iPad. Also there are photo transfer apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy photos between iOS devices via your wifi network.
If it's not an iPhone then you probably need to go via your computer and sync them via iTunes, or if there aren't that many photos and your phone supports it you can email them to yourself
