Verizon reporting negative information on credit report

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.

I used to have a Verizon landline and had an excellent pay history with them as I currently do with Verizon Wireless.  In 2010 I decided to cancel our landline service in favor of an additional cell phone with that same number.  When I did this I received a "Final Bill" from Verizon and paid it as I always did, I also had a Verizon and Direct TV Bundle which meant I pay one bill for both services.  After about a year I received a call from Verizon's collection agency in 04/2011 for money I still owed, I told them I paid the final bill.  Apparently when you have a bundle with Direct TV some of it is billed ahead and this amount was due.  I never received another bill from Verizon for this amount so I never knew.  Once I spoke to collection agency I paid the remainder in 5/2011.  For that last 4 years Verizon has placed a negative mark on my credit report that shows as "Serious delinquency" when creditors check your credit report. I feel this is extremely unfair and has affected my credit on at least 2-3 occurrences.  I do not understand why Verizon can't see this was an honest mistake and remove the negative report.  In fact since I paid it off in 05/2011 (right after I found out about it) why did they even report it in the first place in 06/2011? Please help me!  I hear it takes 7-7.5 years to remove this from credit.  This is so unfair and I have seen that I am not alone from posts on this forum.  What can I do to get this removed so it no longer affects my credit rating?     I am in the process of buying a house with a closing date of 12-15-14 atleast it was until verizon got involved. On friday the 28th of november 2014 I was sent an email from my lender saying that verizon had reported a delenquent account for $161.00 on my credit. And because there was a negative account they wouldnt be able to close the loan potentially causing me to lose my contract and thousands of dollars I have already spent durring the process.
    So began my journey with Verizon to get this taken care of. I called on friday evening and was told by the cancelation department that they didnt send the bills to the right address. she updated my address and resent a bill. When I canceled in July the rep I talked to had asked me for a forwarding address; to send my final bill. I gave it to them and was told to pay the bill when I got it in the mail. So I waited.. 
    When I spoke to the rep on Friday (11-28-14) she said that the Financial services department had to remove it. So she transfered me over to guess what; a closed office. they wouldnt be back till monday. The irritation is only slightly setting in at this point. On monday I called and was told by financial services that only the verizon recovery department could deal with credit issues. Ok, atleast im getting closer to where I need. I got the number and called them imediatly.. then waited.... a long time.. finaly I got a very nasty rep who said it wasnt her fault; and she wasnt going to remove it. I asked how to get it taken care of; she said talk to billing and sent me over there. At this point is where I started getting mad. But to every new rep I talked to I was still remaining polite because I know they didnt specifically cause the issue. When I got someone in billing they said that they would have to send me to financial services because they deal with this; and promptly sent me over there.. wait.. did I just make a complete circle and now im back at financial services?.. Ok so I talk to them, very rude lady by the way, but she adds a note to the system that the bill was generated a month after I moved out and was sent to the old address; not my new one. GREAT!. Then back to Verizon Recovery I went; where I waited.. Again.. For a long time.. then when some one picked up; they imediatly hung up the phone.. Ok so thats how verizon keeps call volume low.. Called right back where I waited.. Again.. For and hour.. very mad at this point but when the lady answered I couldnt help but to be happy I wasnt on hold anymore I kindly told her my situation. This was the first rep that tried to actually help and was pleasant to talk to. however after almost an hour on the phone with her; she told me that it WAS a verizon error because they sent the bill to my old address; even tho I gave them my new one. but she was told by her supervisor that she couldnt remove it. I said ok "so I have this account on my credit because Verizon made a mistake and didnt send the bill to me, but your not going to fix it?" to which she responded "Yes, sir" in a shaky voice cuz she knew it wasnt right. I then asked to speak to a supervisor; she told me she would check if the supervisor was available, then came back and said she would have to get a call back number because the supervisor was busy and would have to call me back that night or early the next morning.. I never got a call back Monday Or Tuesday.. 
    The first time I spoke to the recovery department I asked to speak to the supervisor and was rudly told NO! She didnt even want to help at all only get me off the phone. 
    FCRA states that I must be notified from Verizon when a collection is placed on my credit. Which I wasnt, I contacted them. It also states that they MUST send notification BEFORE they place and collection. They didnt update my address, not my fault; I did my part. Also they had my alternate phone on file and my email. So there is NO EXCUSE as to why I wasnt notified. 
    I also have the right to speak to a supervisor if I feel my issue is not resolved properly. I was denied that.
    I would also like to point out that in this whole process I was never asked to make the payment. I even told the last rep I talked to that if I owed the money I had my credit card; and was ready to resolve it and get it removed. They were so concerned about not fixing the issue they never even bothered to  ask me to pay the bill.
    This will be the LAST time I have service with Verizon and I am considering dropping my 5 lines as a wireless customer if this is the way Verizon operates. 
    I will have to spend months, thousands of dollars, lose the money Ive spent on my house and lose my sales contract over a $161 bill Verizon is not willing to correct; yet admits made the mistake.

    Right now at this very moment we have 5 Verizon bills showing zero balance due from a past account. we requested copies of account debt. Right now my wife's credit shows 813, 807 and 702 with pending disputes from us. (her credit will drop to 700 if not resolved) due to Verizon collection of $78.00 a year ago. We had no idea of this collection untill credit was pulled for the purchase of our third property 9 mos ago.. We never received any notification from Verizon on this. No final bill due, no past due notice, no pre collection, etc. after learning of the collection we immediately contacted verizon,,,what  a joke, long waites, transfers from this dept to that dept, this supervisor, that supervisor, this special team etc...filed disputes with all 3 credit agencies uploading zero balance verizon bills. 2 agencies have pending 1 sided with verizon...not sure why...We just received a letter from a collection company 3 weeks ago for this 1 year old bill,,,,.  Really Verizon.. so gues what...right now our Verizon Cell phone bill is $1100.00 past due. Will try and use it for leverage (pay for delete) or keep running up the tab and bail...... We are tying a refi on one of our properties right now with Chase and guess what..we cannot move forward until the $78.00 is removed. Problem is You can't just pay the collection, because it refreshes the debt and doesn't get removed...it shows paid collection and that is just as bad as not paying... we have the credit reports showing colleciton from verizon, we have bills from verizon showing zero balance...HELP.

  • Draw negative lines to credit notes

    There are business cases for using negative lines on marketing documents. In most documents these are now, or are soon to be, working, but there appears to be no plan to allow these to be drawn to credit notes?
    If this is not possible, it would be good to at least allow the draw document wizard to open allowing  the positive lines to be drawn, leaving the negative ones behind. This will allow the item costs to remain accurate and remove the possibility for error in translation.

    Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
    The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
    Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.

    I gave my mom an iPad as a present and set up an Apple ID with her information. However, I am paying for all of the related purchases and subscriptions with my credit card. At first all was well, I had my credit card info set up on the purchase page. Then I noticed that Apple automatically changed my Mom's account information from her name to my name. Likewise, if I would change it back, suddenly the credit card information had her name on my address. Somehow the purchases are going through this way, but this is not right. Is there any way to keep this information discrete the way it is supposed to be? What do parents do who set up iPads for their children and pay for the purchases? There must be a solution here.

  • Verizon to offer $100 bill credit on new lines activated? Is this true?

    All over the internet, cellphone websites like AndroidCentral are reporting that Verizon is now offering $100 of credit for every new line activated from Feb. 7th to 28th. I just added 2 lines recently and was curious if anyone has heard anything about this offer or if anyone has successfully received the credit?

    I just talked to Verizon, the supervisor talked to the marketing team, he even looked at the image himself that has been circulating.
    They said they have no such promotion going on. He said his marketing team has been receiving other phone calls about this also, asking about this "promotion/discount". He said he would note this down and have the marketing team look into it.
    The only promotions they have in their system are the waived activation fee promotion on new lines and also the trade-in discount promotion.

    I create an AR invoice with two items one with qty 1 and the other with qty (-ve 1)  on posting this invoice the second item / row with negative qty gets closed automatically. Now, I require to post a AR Credit note to this invoice i get the following status error message "cannot draw document with negative rows to AR credit note" when copying to a AR Credit note and it is the same the other way when copying from
    How is it possible to create a  AR credit note to the above scenario. Any sugestions

    version 8.8 supports fully the scenario you outline & I would recommend you upgrade to benefit from the new functionalities introduced in that version. Please have a look at the [8.8 landing page|https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000199032009].
    Using stand-alone documents & internally reconciling in the lower versions works beautifully on the accounting side yet impacts also the stock side, where corrections in stock value & item cost must be carried out manually.

  • Unable to update by billing information and credit card info

    Hello,
    I urgently need to download a business application and I had not been able to change my credit card type to be use in my apple iphone.  I does not have the credit card that I had been using in my previous iphones and I want to change it but the message that the iphone is indicating that the info does not match my bank records.
    Please let me know, what I can do to solve the problem asap.

    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to update your billing information associated with your Apple ID.  Many times this is caused by a formatting error:
    When there is a mismatch between the iTunes Store's records and your credit card company's records, you will receive an error message stating that your credit card's security code isn't valid or that your zip code does not match your bank's records.
    In most cases, this issue is caused by a formatting error in the billing address that you have provided. You can correct the issue by verifying that the information you have provided is correct, or by changing the format of your address to match the format that your credit card company has on file.
    I recommend following the steps below:
    You can verify and/or modify your billing address by following these instructions:
    Open iTunes.  If you are signed in to iTunes, skip to step 4.
    Note: Verify that you are signed in to the correct iTunes account. If you are unsure which account you're signed into, choose Store > Sign Out and proceed to step 2.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
    Enter your account name and password, then click the Sign In button.
    Choose Store > View My Account.
    Click the Edit Payment Information button.
    In the Payment Method section, choose None.

    You should contact Apple Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click 'See all products and services', then ' 'iTunes', and then 'iTunes Store', then 'Purchases, Billing & Redemption'.

    All downloads from iTunes are tied to the account that downloaded it, you can't re-download content via a different account. You checked the spam folder on yourr old account as well as the Inbox, and depending upon how long ago you did it, have you retried getting it reset : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password' ?

  • Erroneous, derogatory credit report

    I have been a longstanding, loyal, and very consistent Verizon Wireless customer for over 10 years.  In all the years I have been a Verizon Wireless customer, I have ALWAYS paid my bill on time, every month.  In early 2011, I went through a divorce & released my ex-husband's line.  A couple of months later, I added a line for my son but I did not sign a contract for the new phone number.  I kept the new line (my son's) for over one year, but because for most of that year, the phone was not even used, I cancelled it around 2/2012 because I combined my account with my current husband's account, who has also been with Verizon Wireless for more than 10 years.  The reason I cancelled my son's line was because my husband's account has 4 lines, and the maximum number of lines on a Family Share Plan was 5 at the time we combined accounts.  Additionally, since my son hadn't used his phone in about 4+ months prior to the combining of accounts, it only made the best financial sense to cancel this line since it wasn't being used anyway.  Verizon even credited me one month's worth of charges (because that was as far back as the representative was allowed to credit) because she could see he never used his phone.   I thought I had a productive, good-standing relationship until October, 2012   when I received a bill for $68 from CONVERGENT COLLECTION AGENCY!!!  Needless to say, I was appalled!  From the time I got the new line until the time I cancelled the line, my monthly payment was always current and paid in full.  Immediately, I picked up the phone & called Verizon, who said it was out of their hands, and that I should contact the credit agency to pay the bill.  I then immediately contacted Convergent Collection Agency and paid the accused debt amounting to $80.90 (including the collection agency fee).  Knowing these charges were erroneous, I waited for the debt to be "cleared up" on Verizon's side, I waited nearly 30 days, then contacted Verizon again in order to clear my name/accounts.  After explaining this long & drawn out scenario, a very kind Verizon Wireless representative stated they would submit this account to be cleared of any wrongdoing on my part, & would even process a refund for me for the $60-some odd dollar outstanding balance which was turned in to the collection agency.  I explained that I paid $80.90, and asked to have the entire amount credited back or refunded to me.  I have yet to receive a refund, which is of zero importance compared to the derogatory reports against my otherwise perfect, 15 year credit history. 
    The point I am trying to make is that I NEED VERIZON WIRELESS TO REMOVE THE DEROGATORY REPORT FROM MY OTHERWISE PRISTINE CREDIT HISTORY.  I have been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer for over 10 years and have no plans to change my service provider in the near future, unless I continue to be unsuccessful at getting this one single negative report deleted off of my credit.  I have been told by a Verizon representative that is impossible to remove derogatory reports from a credit report, which is UNTRUE!   I know if a company has the ability to report good standing history as well as negative history, they also have the ability to REMOVE negative information.  This negative report does NOT represent my personal values of paying my monthly bills as well as paying them ON TIME, as well as being a responsible adult, in general.  I do not feel as if I should suffer the repercussions of this ONE negative & most certainly erroneous report if I was not the source of the problem.  I feel the blame is on Verizon because someone there did not check to ensure the bill was sent to the correct address....I received a bill every month for my main account, so why wasn't it caught that my son's bill was sent to my old address (of my ex-husband, who deliberately did not give me my mail).  Another reason I am upset about this is because Verizon NEVER made an attempt to call me about the past due balance.  The line was tied to my phone number, which I have had since day 1 with Verizon (and have never changed this number).  I feel as if Verizon did not do their part to notify me of this bill, and found it easiest to turn me in to the credit bureau, without caring how someone's lack of attention and abundance of laziness would adversely affect my credit.
    I have tried to contact a supervisor at Verizon regarding this issue, but was told there was no one available.  This is unacceptable to me, as I was lied to again.  I don't feel as if I should continue paying money to a company who does not care about its customers or how they are treated by it's employees.  Money is NOT the issue; a $60-something balance would have been easily and immediately taken care of, as I am easily making current monthly payments of over $340.  If Verizon does not have a solution for me IMMEDIATELY, then I will be happy to take my money every month to another wireless company who will treat it's customers like they are a real person.
    Please feel free to have no less than a manager, supervisor, or better yet, a regional supervisor to contact me at ANY TIME.

    This is a peer to peer forum. no managers etc. here just customers and occasionally a verizon employee comes by to assist.
    Verizon like banks and credit card companies may or may not post your payment history to the three credit bureaus
    If they post a delinquent account to the bureaus you can under the Fair Debt Collections Act write a letter and dispute the charge or amount they claim you owe.
    Please note because the invoice was overlooked and not paid does not mean you were responsible for the payment of that invoice.
    You can also call the credit bureaus to dispute the validity of the collection company and verizon but it was posted as a correct entry on your credit report. Factual reports stay on for 7 years. if you write the letter of dispute or circumstances it to will be there for potential credit grantors to view.
    That is all that can be done. However there are federal and state laws that state credit bureaus can be sued in court if what they post is not accurate but truthful  entries are going to stay.
