Version D and Version A  In Business Content

This was an Error I got ...
You wanted to generate an object with the name '0FI_AA_11                     NW1CLNT000' (in transport request 0FI_AA_11                     NW1CLNT000) of type 'Transfer Rules' (TLOGO). This is, however, not available in the BW Repository database. It does not exist in the requested version A. If the version is 'D' then it is possible that an error arose during the delivery or installation. If the version is 'A' then the Object was either not created or not activated.
Please Explain me what is Version <b>D</b> and <b>A</b>
How do i Proceed

Hi Santosh,
'D' means Delivered version from SAP.That means it will have all the properties carried out which are set in BI Content.
'A' Active version means if you use that object any where by installing from BI content.then it will be Active version.
Hope this helps

  • Use of Match(X)or Copy and Install checkboxes in Business content

    Hi,
What is the use of checkbox selection under Match(X) and install in L.H.S of Business content while we try to install an object?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Have you seen same question posted on today:
Installing Business Content - How to Deselect Match (X)/Copy Column ???
    the help says that:
<i>The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
    1) the match indicator is not set and
    2) the install indicator is set.
In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.</i>

  • Install and simulation option in business content?

    hi friends,
why do u we need install and simulation option in businees content?

    Hi suneel,
The use of simulate installation option is the system runs a test to see whether any errors are likely to occur during the installation.
Simulation can't identify all the errors, because some error messages may be generated when a real A ( active ) version is available in the system. So you can use simulation function as a rough practice to help you in finding and removing some basic errors.
    Hope this is fine.

  • Business content option and update

    hi
can anyone say teh use of match (x)& copy and simulation result in business content in AWB.
       wht is v1 ,v2 and v3 update
    thanks in advance

    Hi Pradeep,
    Match (X) or Copy
If the SAP delivery version and the active version can be matched, a checkbox is displayed in this column.
With the most important object types, the active version and the SAP delivery version can be matched.
From a technical point of view, the SAP delivery version (D version) is matched with the M version. As in most cases the M version is identical to the active version (A version) in a customer system, this is referred to as a match between the D and A versions for reasons of simplification.
When a match is performed, particular properties of the object are compared in the A version and the D version. First it has to be decided whether these properties can be matched automatically or whether this has to be done manually. A match can be performed automatically for properties if you can be sure that the object is to be used in the same way as before it was transferred from Business Content. When performing matches manually you have to decide whether the characteristics of a property from the active version are to be retained, or whether the characteristics are to be transferred from the delivery version.
    Example of an automatic match
Additional customer-specific attributes have been added to an InfoObject in the A version. In the D version, two additional attributes have been delivered by SAP that do not contain the customer-specific attributes. In order to be able to use the additional attributes, the delivery version has to be installed from Business Content again. At the same time, the customer-specific attributes are to be retained. In this case, you have to set the indicator (X) in the checkbox. After installing the Business Content, the additional attributes are available and the customer-specific enhancements have been retained automatically. However, if you have not checked the match field, the customer-specific enhancements in the A version are lost.
    Example of a manual match
An InfoObject has a different text in the A version than in the D version. In this case the two versions have to be matched manually. When Business Content is installed, a details screen appears which asks you to specify whether the text should be transferred from the active version or from the D version.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten. If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
¡ the match indicator is not set and
¡ the install indicator is set.
In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.
In the context menu, two options are available:
    a. Merge All Below
The object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy are selected as to Match.
    b. Copy All Below
The Match indicators are removed for the object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy. If the Install indicator is also set, these objects are copied from the delivery version to the active version.
    hope this helps.

  • Business Content for Industry Solution Aerospace and Defence (A & D)

    Hi,
We would like to implement BI for one of the organization where ERP SAP R/3 IS Aerospace and Defence (A & D) is already implemented. I tried to see business content for A & D, but could not find. Could anybody advise me where anything is available for A & D?
    Thanks and Best regards
    Rajendra

All business content is available in the helpfile (help.sap.com). For your IS however, the link in the helpfile seems to be dead.
This either means there's an error in the online helpfile, or there's simple no business content available...
    Try contacting SAP to verify?

  • Difference between installing and activating business content

    Hi,
I am new to BW, would like to know some info
    1) What is the difference between <b>install</b> busines content and <b>activate</b> business content, When i should do what
    2) When a business content is installed do i need to go to modelling tab and activate it as well.
    3) if a business content is installed would all other related objects get activated automaically like its update rules, transfer rules etc.
    Thanks
    Akila.R

    Hi Ramachandran,
    Good question,
This issue can be adressed with the "Match x or copy" option in the Business content activation screen.
Here with this option you can decide wether you need to overwrite the earlier content or not.
Follow the link for further explanation on "Match x or copy".

    Hi,
You can check the Content Release and Last Content Modification for your update Rules following thee given path:
    RSA1>BI Content>object Types>Update Rules>Select object(search for ur update rules) -->Transfer Selections.
After they are being transfered to the right pane.On right pane (where you can see the its technical name) scroll towards right you will see last three tabs as "Content Release,Last Content Modification and Person responsible".
Change the Grouping as "Before and afterwards" and then try installing.
    Hope it helps.

  • Business content infosource

    Hi All,
How do I do a comparison between the active infosource (2LIS_03_BF) vs. the business content infosource, or just to view the business content info source.  I am interested in both the communication structure and the transfer rule.  The current active infosource in the system was from release 2.x prior ro our system upgrade to release 3.5.  I need to implement the new 0IC_C03 inventory cube.  The old 2LIS_03_BF infosource was customized to load a different info cube.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.  I will assign points for those who are spending their time to help!!
    Thank you.
    Andrew

    Ravi,
I looked at help.sap.com and did not find the fields for the communication structure and transfer rule for info source 2LIS_03_BF.   Can you point me to the right direction?
Also, I was hoping that there are some SAP utilities where it would show the differences between the active version vs. the business content version for the infosource.  Such as the one available in the info object display.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • Hi........What is business content..

    Hi all,
what is business content ? when this comes into picture in real time....
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhaskar Rao Javvaji

    Hi..
Business Content is a pre-configured set of role and task-relevant information models based on consistent metadata in the SAP Business Information Warehouse.
Business Content provides selected roles within a company with the information they need to carry out their tasks.
    Business Content can
be used in particular industries without being modified
be modified, meaning you can work with it to any degree of detail
serve as a template or an example for customer-defined Business Content
This information model includes integral Roles, Workbooks, Queries, InfoSources, InfoCubes, ODS objects, key figures, characteristics, Update rules, and extractors for SAP R/3, mySAP.com Business Applications, and for other selection applications.
    To summarize,
Business Content enables a quick and cost-effective implementation.
Provides a model that can be used as a guideline during implementation using experience gained from other implementations
SAP delivers Business Content in the SAP Delivery Version (D version).
Changes are saved in the M version.
Active Business Content is saved in the A version.
In the Administrator Workbench, one can collect and transfer the Business Content delivered by SAP. In this way, all additional necessary objects are taken into account automatically, as is the sequence for the activation.
SAP delivers the Business Content objects in a new D Version. The customer can compare the new Business Content with his/her active customer version, and either adopt the new version or merge it with his/her version.
Adopt: The customer version is deleted and replaced by the new Business Content version.
Merge: The “total” is made from both objects and saved as a new customer version.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten.
If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if the match indicator is not set and the install indicator is set. In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.

  • How to find out the activation log for a info* from Business content

    Hi,
I work in a BW 3.5 environment where a lot of projects are being done simultaneously and a lot of Business content are getting activated. BW often activates a lot of other objects when a certain section of seemingly unrelated Business contents are activated without much caution.
When I look into some of the objects related to my area of the Business content, I find them already activated.
How do I find the activation( who, what time etc ) log history of certain objects like info objects, cubes, ODS, Infosource etc..
This will help me immensely to communicate with various people( who inadvertently activeted them)  and find issues quickly.
       Thanks
    Arun

    Hi,
The tables in which application logs are stored are:
BAL_AMODAL                     Application Log: INDX table for amodal com
    BAL_INDX                       Application Log: INDX tables
BALC                           Application Log: Log or message context
    BALDAT                         Application Log: Log data
    BALHANDLE                      Application Log: Lock
    object dummy table
    BALHDR                         Application log: log header
    BALHDRP                        Application log: log parameter
    BALM                           Application log: log message
    BALMP                          Application log: message parameter
    BALOBJ                         Application log: objects

    BALSUB                         Application log: sub-objects
    BALSUBT                        Application log: Sub-object texts
Within Tcode SLG1 you can query systemwide object activation on various selection criteria.
Ofcourse furthermore for objects already once transported to PRD you can search transport requests or object lists via Tcode SE01.
