  • Very strange index.jsp problem (Apache2 + Jboss/Tomcat)

    I've been working on this for 6 hours until the current time of 4.30 am - any help is very much appreciated.
    I (thought) I had successfully integrated Jboss/Tomcat with apache 2 using mod_jk 1.2.8 - and added an alias for jmx-console. But I just can't make index.jsp serve when loading the default directory. I also tried with a fairly straightforward jsp site I have 'ConnectSite' (just a conference name).
    I have created deployment and alias called connect, results
    http://localhost:8080/ConnectSite [success]
    http://localhost/ConnectSite/index.jsp [success]
    http://localhost/ConnectSite/ [fail] - Apache treats it like any other directory.
    But what's really strange is if i take out mod_jk from apache and leave in DirectoryIndex index.jsp - then apache will serve the .jsp file unprocessed. All the static content is served by apache just fine.
    I am baffled. Should I just try proxy for the moment.
    Many Thanks,
    -Mike D
    Config files -
    Apache section (Have of course added DirectoryIndex index.jsp)
    LoadModule jk_module /usr/local/apache2/modules/mod_jk.so
    <IfModule mod_jk.c>
    JkWorkersFile /usr/local/apache2/workers.properties
    JkLogFile /usr/local/apache2/logs/mod_jk.log
    JkLogLevel error
    JkOptions +ForwardDirectories
    DirectoryIndex index.jsp
    # JkAutoAlias /usr/java/jboss/server/default/deploy
    # send all requests ending in .jsp to worker1
    JkMount /*.jsp foo
    # send all requests ending /servlet to worker1
    JkMount /*/servlet/ foo
    </IfModule>
    (running apachectl configtest returns syntax OK)
    workers.properties ...
    # Tomcat and Java configuration
    workers.tomcat_home=/usr/java/jboss/server/default/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat50.sar
    workers.java_home=/usr/java/jdk
    ps=/
    worker.list=foo
    # Definition for local worker using AJP 1.3
    worker.foo.type=ajp13
    worker.foo.host=localhost
    worker.foo.port=8009
    worker.foo.cachesize=20

    Workaround for anyone interested:
    In apache conf:
    use JkMount /ContextName/ to explicitly send each directory with index.jsp to Tomcat

  • Can visit every website except one? Very strange a...

    This is a very strange problem, and one that has started today but is already driving me mad. I'm on BT Infinity Broadband, using a BT homehub, and have done for a while now... So far it's been fine until today.
    Every aspect of my internet connection is fine - I can get and send emails, use skype, and view websites through every browser...But all of a sudden I can't visit one particular website anymore? It just times out every single time and wont let me on. It's definitely not the website becuase all my colleagues can go on there, and if i turn off my wifi on my iphone I can get to it on 3G also, so the problem is definitely in the router or something to do with my settings here. I've tried on my Macbook on Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and also on my Powermac on the same three browsers.
    It's vital that I get back online becuase as luck would have it, my job is updating the blog on this one site I can't access, so any help from anyone at all would be very much appreciated. Here's the site in question: www.4downdistribution.com/v3
    Cheers
    James

    it's unlikely that any settings have changed in the router  - have you tried deleting the cache/history/temp internet files and see if that help

  • Address Book behaves very strange

    Hello members and outside viewers,
    First thing: My Address Book behaves very strange.
    - After startup, the window freezes. Only if I minimize and click again, works OK. I began used to it, BUT
    - Since yesterday, Addresses gone, disappeared from every entry.
    - Under Preferences » Address Format is uneditable, it has "Item3" in it, unclickable drop down menu.
    - Under Preferences »Template » Add Field several options are grey: "Phone", "Email", "Related Names", "Instant Messaging", "Address".
    Please can you help me! I deleted both plist files from Preferences folder and deleted the whole folder under Application Support/AddressBook, also reinstalled Address Book from Leopard DVD, but nothing helped so far.
    Second thing: when I invoke Spotlight, and start typing after 2-3 seconds, it quits and also Dock unusable, restarts automatically. Spotlight is useless, it behaves every time like this. Spotlight in Finder windows are OK, system-wide menubar has this error. Also, it was suddenly gone wrong like Address Book. Can I think of some virus?
    P.S. (off topic), might helpful to share: very frustating, that registering to Discussions took me over an hour.
    - With Safari 4.03 the "Name" and "AppleID" are blank fields on "Create New User Account", therefore impossible to proceed. ( Error: invalid AppleID. Please login with a different AppleID )
    - With Firefox you can actually see them, but "?" instead of accounted letters.
    - After changing My Info, I finally realised that Apple ID should be complete e-mail address.
    - That means my "visionfresh" account is totally different from "[email protected]" (or me.com, whatever..)
    - Not to mention that I created a new Apple ID, that was also not working.
    - Bottom line: my "[email protected]" account is working also in Safari after editing my Name (replace accented characters), but I could not proceed with the nickname "visionfresh", I chose "matyashuszar".

  • VERY strange lag on a Dell Optiplex 760

    I thought it would be a good idea to keep a 16GB flash drive on my keychain that booted Arch so I could work on HW for college in a consistent OS!  Everything is working great so far, but I ran into a very strange problem with a Dell Optiplex 760.  During the normal Arch init process, everything loads great, except for when it gets to the udev stage where everything hangs.  But here's the strange part of this scenario: the problems go away when I start typing random keys or move the mouse!  If I don't do this, the system hangs completely from what I can tell.  This happens at the console and with X.
    The service tag for this machine is FDCQQJ1, and the dell.com driver area brings up this list of hardware and (windows) drivers for it.

  • A Very Strange Post Update Problem

    Hi guys, new to the forum here, wondering if I could get some help with a most disturbing problem...
    Off the bat, I use a ppc Mac G5 running 10.4.11. I use this for Music production, and general music listening in my studio. For Audio I use pro tools HD 7.3 (as well as logic 8), with a digidesign 192 IO interface, and run most ofmy audio thru that. Now that we have that out the way... I normally dont agree to updates, as I would not like to upset a balance thats been working perfectly for me for some time, but 2 days ago, one of my assistants was using the computer and agreed to the latest update for Itunes, quicktime, and logic (but not the security update). Immedietly after the update finished (during which he said the quicktime update crashed), the system started going haywire, pro tools was shutting down, itunes wouldn't open, the like... Well after uninstalling and reinstalling itunes and quicktime, all order was restored, except for one AWFUL problem.. the sound coming out of any program BESIDES pro tools (itunes, logic, toast) is very strange, as if its coming thru very cheap speakers. I've run itunes through both the digi interface and the standard sound card (it has the same problem), and checked the EQ settings (flat), my sample and bit rates are straight... I have no idea! if anyone could offer some insight, It would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

    HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    It's possible there's an underlying problem with your hard drive.
    Insert the installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
    Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    *(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
    Select your start up disk and click Restart
    Also, make sure you have sufficient drive space. Control or right click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop. Click "Get Info". Under the General tab you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is at least 10% available disk space, 15% is better.
    If the drive appears to be ok and you have enough available disk space, you could try the 10.4.11 combo update available here. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eppc.html
    Make sure and run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions BEFORE and AFTER the installation.
    Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Very strange thing after 10.7.3 update?

    Very strange thing after 10.7.3 update?
    Everything seems to be working normal except the desk top BBC iPlayer which plays fine in a small window but when you go to full screen still plays the sound but the screen just goes black, no video?
    I thought maybe the update knocked off one of the plugins or players but reinstalled iPlayer and same problem, anyone got a workaround or suggestion as to how I can fix it, am I the only one?
    Full screen YouTube works fine.
    Everything else seems ok, maybe running a little hotter and the fans are kicking in a little sooner but does feel a little snappier.
    Thanks

  • Very strange error in text properties - AI CS6

    Hello Everyone,
    This morning I found very very STRANGE error in Adobe CS6 about text properties. Here you go.
    In the picture one text 'ei and mosterd' was bold.
    But after copy to new string the bold characters are changed to 'ig and mosterdz'.
    This is very strange error I have seen ever.
    Do you guys have any reason why CS6 act like this?
    also do you  have any option to fix this issue?
    For your information:
    I just done copy past. Nothing else.
    All the properties are same for both.
    No difference except the text string size
    I tried the same file in different machines for check. But I still see the same error in all the machines.
    System properties:
    Mac os x: 10.8.5
    Processor 2,8 Ghz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 8 GB
    Software: Adobe CS6
    Regards,
    FroQ

    Wow, this is absolutely incredible... you try to parse an empty String to an int and it throws an exception... I'd never have thought.

  • Strange exception thrown from Client (Scanner has tokens)

    Hi,
    I am getting a really strange exception thrown from my client. It seems to be
    about a class that the wsgen generated. Has anyone ever seen something like that
    before? Maybe it is because I am using JBuilder(5.1)? I am operating on a WL6.1
    server. It is only a test webservice. So there are only standard return types,

    Hi, thanks, manoj!
    The problem was that eventhough I had the correct login, the server had another
    security layer, that prevented me from doing the lookup. So I guess I was supposed
    to get an error html page and so the SAX-Parser got messed up.
    Stupid mistake, but thank you very much.

    It looks like the server is sending back a html page instead

    you are trying?
    If you are using a WSDL file, then the URL will be inside
    the service->port->soap:address-location element.

  • PageContext.forward causes strange exception

    Hi,
    I've found a strange exception using pageContext.forward.
    The code is as follows:
    try {
    } catch (Exception e) {
    out.println (...); //for debugging purposes
    pageContext.forward (errorPage);
    pageContext.forward throws an "IllegalStateException: Attempt to clear a buffer that's already been flushed". (I think that this is the right translation, the original is in Spanish).
    I think that there is a very similar problem described in this forum:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=45&thread=343314
    Has anyone found a similar problem (with its solution, if possible ;=)
    Thanx

    Howdy,
    You've already written to you JSP output, and in this situation you can't forward 'cause it's automatically flushed.
    try changing your forward method position, befor any out.print() or like that.
    OR use this trick,
    <%@ page autoFlush="false" %>
    // Write to JSP and other stuffs...
    // Forward to another content...
    // Do your stuffs...
    response.flushBuffer();

  • Strange Exception "wdDoInit - No PagePath parameter - exit"

    Hello community,
    our portal logs are full of this entries (SAP CE 7.31 SP5):
    I don't know why and where it exactly occours. The information in the Developer Trace aren't very useful to me.
    Does any one know what this could be?

    Hello Lawrence, thanks for your answer. No there aren't any corresponding exceptions. Patchlevel did not change and this exception began to appear a few days after a release of custom development. But I'am not able to recreate this log for my user while working with any of those custom components. Also this doesn't seem to lead to a crash of a used application since I have no user reporting any problems. Very strange.
    regards.

  • Very strange problems since upgrading.

    Ok, since I did a Pacman -Syu a week or so ago, I've been having some very strange issues.
    Number one, about 60-70% of the time I am completely unable to log into the box, I end up rebooting over and over to finally get the desktop environment to successfully load. It ran fine before. My rc.conf looks like this:
    LOCALE="en_US.utf8"
    HARDWARECLOCK="UTC"
    USEDIRECTISA="no"
    TIMEZONE="America/Los_Angeles"
    KEYMAP="us"
    CONSOLEFONT=
    CONSOLEMAP=
    USECOLOR="yes"
    MYTHCONFDIR="/home/mythtv"
    MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes"
    MODULES=(dm_mod fuse)
    USELVM="no"
    HOSTNAME="hosty"
    eth0="dhcp"
    eth1="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0 eth1)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.xxx.xxx"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond hal fam apcupsd httpd mysqld ntpd gdm)
    What will happen is gnomes new login screen (I assume it's gnomes new login screen anyway), will pop up, I'll log in by selecting name, entering password... all fine. Then the hard drive will go nuts for a second or so (expected), and I'll get an untitled window that pops up and says:
    unable to update ICEauthority file /home/user/.ICEauthority
    Which is strange, since to my understanding, I've never installed or used ICE. Then another window pops up with more information that I am unable to remember (too long). Then it will grind a bit, then stop at the same leaf background gnome startup used, then a final window will pop up complaining that Nautilus is unable to create the directories  "/home/user/Desktop" or "/home/user/.Nautilus".... which is complete horsecrap since those directories have existed on this hard drive for years now.
    Then it simply stops at the leaf background, and nothing else loads. So of course my first thought when I upgraded was, aw crap, X needs some work again. So I immediately do a {CTRL}-{ALT}-{F2} to get a bash prompt... and suddenly the plot thickens... I get nothing, just a blank screen with a cursor in the upper left. No bash login, nothing. So again I figure, ok, no big deal, I logged on F7, I'll just go back and kill X... I go back, still leaf screen, then hit {CTRL}-{ALT}-{BSPACE}... nothing. I can't kill X, and I can't get a bash login. I'm stuck. The only command that works is {CTRL}-{ALT}-{DEL}.
    So of course being the lazy bastard that I am, and this box being a MythTV box, I figure, no problem, I'll fix that later since if I reboot enough I can get logged in and everything is fine, I'll just leave it running like I always do. Except for last night when I decide to tackle the problem. I thought I was being very smart when I removed 'gdm' from the final daemon in /etc/rc.conf... until I realized that just left me with a computer that had booted, but NO BASH LOGIN PROMPT. Nothing, no way to control the computer at all. I was just sitting there watching my Mythbackend spit out notices and errors one by one, unable to get any sort of # or $. I managed to grab an old archlinux CDrom and use it to rescue the system by restoring an old /etc/rc.conf, but I have no understanding why I would not get a login prompt.
    So you see, I'm quite stuck. I cannot seem to get any sort of command-line login prompt without X running (terminal still works) to fix things. And 60-70% of the time, X/gnome will not finish starting up. Any help?

    Or this:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=80939
    I looked through that thread there, it sounds like a udev + kernel 31 issue? so I promptly did:
    $ uname
    Linux
    And suddenly became alarmed that I'm not seeing a linux version number. Why would this happen? I went through what fixed it for other people on that thread (renaming udev directories, reinstalling udev), and it hasn't made any difference, so I think this is a different issue.
    The other two suggestions in this thread would seem to be worthless since the /.ICEauthority file has the proper ownership/permissions.
    Still at a loss. wiping and reinstalling is not pretty on a mythbox with nearly a terrabyte of recorded TV.

  • Very strange behaviour of RGBImageFilter class

    Hi!
    I found very strange behaviour of RGBImageFilter class and problem is
    that I need to solve that problem :/ So, situation is next:
    I decided to use filtering process for collecting information about
    image. So, I extended my own class from RGBImageFilter and overwrite
    filterRGB( ... ) method ( everything is absolutely the same as in
    documentation ) and also added my own code for 'no matter what'.
    This code changes some class variable and my idea was to read those
    variables after filtering process end, but... Suddenly I realized that
    those variables, many times changed while filtering were performed
    ( I checked it ) after filtering gave the same value as in constructor!
    The only one clue and idea about what happened is that class instance
    were cloned and then executed, but thats not a functionality I was
    searching. :/ I made some example of that 'effect'.
    Image file name goes in command line.
    Please pay attention on -3 value on exit: Filtering works, count growing
    ( just uncomment setPixels() method to see it ) but, but...

    Cliff, Hi. I'm curious because this can't work. I have no problem synching with the exchange - as long as i accept the message that the certificate of the exchange (which is not the certificate of the exchange but the certificate of dig @reighthandsideofmailadress) is not valid (expired, wrong common name etc).

  • Very strange boot/device behaviour- please help!

    hello!
    i was quite happy with my macbook pro, when it one day did not boot anymore. i just saw the black screen and no startup sound was heard. i tried several times to restart, but no result. i gave up for some hours and when i came back it worked again.
    i thought it might have been the humidity as sunnier days came their way and my macbook worked without any problem.
    however, one month later i´m confronted again with this boot issue. so after the mbp has been turned off, i have to wait 30 minutes in order to be able to restart. if not, it gets stuck with the black screen.
    i went trough the troubleshooting tips (SMC reset, PRam reset) and even made an archive and install. unfortunately without any result.
    to make things worse my audio stopped to work also. first it did not even show up the devices -" no input/output devices found", after the archive and install the devices were found, but still no sound (except the startupsound)...
    ...i really do not have any clue what might be the problem, but as i am currently far from home and far from any apple support center, i would very much appreciate every hint or solution.
    tnx

    macbook pro 2,33 GHz Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    hello again!
    it's very strange indeed. my macbook was working without any problems again for 2 days. then i was playing music on itunes when the screen went black(please restart), i could hear some scratchy noises before. again i could not restart. after 30 attempts the computer booted and everything worked except the audio, it said "no output devices found". i noticed that after some hours of rest my computer returns to full funcionality. as i said, i have no means to bring my computer to an apple store. maybe someone can give me an indication of what might be wrong. here is the panic.log:
