Vibration alarm level as a function of RPM

I am working on the vibration panel for a machine with variable speed. The vibration alarm levels should be a function of the operating speed.
Data Member Configuration screen accepts only constant values in the Alarm Condition box, HiHi, Lo, LoLo.  Is there a way to use a conditional alarm levels?

You might consider using digital alarms and an expression, where the expression is evaluated with speed and vibration level, and the digital is true if in alarm.  Your alarm message and description then could publish the speed and alarm level to indicate the values, though it is a digital.
Hope this helps.

  • DSC Alarms: how to get the current alarm levels / setpoints

I have a VI that can get the alarm levels for shared variables as they are set in the project library.
But I have programmatically changed the values for the alarm levels, so the Distributed System Manager shows different levels as compared to what my VI displays.  I want the updated or current alarm levels - the ones that are retrieved by Read Alarms (called setpoints).
I could use Read Alarms, but that only shows the shared variables that are in alarm.  I want all the shared variables in a process that is currently deployed.
    Any suggestions?
BTW, is Distributed System Manager the same tool as Shared Variable Monitor?  I can't find the Shared Variable Monitor on my system.
    G

    Hi Gretchen,
To answer your second question first, Shared Variable Monitor was the old name for what became Distributed System Manager. There was also some added functionality beyond just shared variables with DSM, so the name got changed.
As for suggestions regarding your application, I could use a little bit of clarification. I understand you're programmatically changing the alarm values and you want to display the values of your shared variables and their respective alarm states, correct? Also, when you're running your VI DSM does not update with the new alarm values (what happens when you hit the refresh button?).
I found a couple examples that may be useful moving forward Example 1, Example 2. These cover using shared variables and DSC's alarming features.

  • [nQSError: 22036] Level in TODATE function (Quarter) must be a rollup...

    Hi,
i've following problem. I hope you can help. It's quite urgent.
I have following TimeDim hierarchy, in my rpd:
Logical Level: Total Time - Properties: Grand Total Level
Child Logical Level: Year - Properties: Supports rollup to higher level of aggregation - Keys: Year Code (Cronological Key) - Logical Column: Year Code, Year Description
Child Logical Level: Semester - Properties: Supports rollup to higher level of aggregation - Keys: Semester Code (Cronological Key) - Logical Column: Semester Code, Semester Description
Child Logical Level: Quarter - Properties: Supports rollup to higher level of aggregation - Keys: Quarter Code (Cronological Key) - Logical Column: Quarter Code, Quarter Description
Child Logical Level: Time Detail - Properties: Supports rollup to higher level of aggregation - Keys: TTPER (Cronological Key) - Logical Column: Desc Month, TTPER, Desc Month Short
Then, i've defined my measures using TODATE Function:
    - Net Number of HA Units delivered Monthly
    - Net Number of HA Units delivered Qtd = TODATE("Net Number of HA Units delivered Monthly", "TimeDim"."Quarter")
    - Net Number of HA Units delivered Ytd = TODATE("Net Number of HA Units delivered Monthly", "TimeDim"."Year")
    - Ha Returned Quantity Monthly
    - Ha Returned Quantity Qtd = TODATE("Ha Returned Quantity Monthly", "TimeDim","Quarter")
    - Ha Returned Quantity Ytd = TODATE("Ha Returned Quantity Monthly", "TimeDim","Year)
In my Report i've following columns:
HA Deliveries Quantity Gross QTD: fx = Net Number of Ha Units delivered Qtd + Ha Returned Quantity Qtd
HA Deliveries Quantity Gross YTD: fx = Net Number of Ha Units delivered Ytd + Ha Returned Quantity Ytd
Column HA Deliveries Quantity Gross Ytd works. For first column i have following error:
[nQSError: 22036] Level in TODATE function (Quarter) must be a rollup of (or equivalent to) the measure level (Year).
    Why?
If i modify first column fx dropping sum, but selecting first or second addend separately it works. Sum not
For example: HA Deliveries Quantity Gross Qtd: fx = Net Number of HA Units delivered Qtd OK
    or
HA Deliveries Quantity Gross Qtd: fx = HA Returned Quantity Qtd OK
Maybe there's something wrong in my hierarchy definition?. Please help
    Giancarlo

    Giancarlo,
Can you try adding prersentation column "TimeDim"."Quarter" to your report and check ? Hide it if you don't require it. This shud solve your problem as the Time Hierarchy is defined correctly. Also, hope you have set the Chronological Key correctly at the last level.

  • My new iphone 5c does not have an "alarm" on the clock function.  My iphone 4 does and it works perfectly.  What's that all about?

I recently purchased a new iphone 5c unlocked in the States and have moved to Doha, Qatar.  When I went to set the alarm in the clock function a message came up saying I didn't have an alarm on the clock.  This is strange as my iphone 4 does and it works fine.  How can I add this feature to my clock?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Can I stop the vibrating alarm clock?

I've just started using iCal again after a number of years. In past versions, I used to be able to control-click on the vibrating alarm clock when I got a pop-up reminder and tell it to stop vibrating. Now I can't seem to click on it. I like to leave the window open as a reminder, but that vibrating clock takes up a lot of CPU. Is this no longer possible to stop? Thanks!

  • Existing 2003 forest functional level -- 2012 forest functional level in production environment?

    Hello experts!
A quick question if it can be one:
Is it possible to raise a forest functional level from 2003 to 2012 in a production environment (only 2003 DCs with existing roles to only 2012 DCs)?  If so, is there a standard implementation of the upgrade process
(migration of roles, migration tools, etc.)?
    many thanks!
    David

    hi,
    Thanks for posting.
Sorry i don't know if i am understanding your question. Are you talking about upgrading your DC's in your current forest to 2012 then raising the functional level?
If so, first of all you can only raise the forest and domain functional levels when all DC's in the forest and domain are at 2012 or higher.
To get your domain unto 2012 DC's there are a couple of paths you can adopt, but generally the simplest is:
    1. Introduce your first 2012 / 2012 R2 DC into your existing domain, this will extend the schema with the additional attributes that are required to 2012 - this is an automatic process during promotion of your first 2012 DC.
    2. Go through and start replacing your existing domain controllers. You don't normally do an inlace upgrade, the preferred method would be to use different hardware, built up the new DC to replace your existing one, then demote the existing one - keep going
through this process until all your DC's are 2012.
NB: which ever DC(s) currently holds the FSMO roles you will need to transfer these to one of your new 2012 DC's before you decommission that one.
if i've got what you were asking wrong, please let me know, otherwise hopefully this helps.

  • Levels in a functional location structure

    Dear experts!
Please explain the purpose of having several levels in a PM structure.
I have made a structure like this: NNNN-SS-SSSSS-SSSSSSSS-SSSSSSSS
what would be better or worse if i made a structure like this :NNNN-SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Ahhh it would be nice with some adwise.
Exept for having all FL`s in one level i can't see anything wrong.
    anyone?

    HI
The Sole purpose of having several levels of Functional Location is to get the various data & reports at each level.
Suppose there is a company operating in multiple locations and each location they have multiple plants. In this case based upon your Floc structure you can get the Various Data / Reports at different levels .i.e (company , Location , manufacturing Plants etc )
By selecting company level Floc u2013 you can get  No. of equipment/reports of  total company.
By selecting location level Floc - you can get  No. of equipment/reports of one particular location.
By selecting Plant level Floc - you can get  No. of equipment/reports of of particular Plant itself .

  • Top level navigation bar: function links

The only function links available are Help and Logoff. How do I configure portal to get the addional links i.e: Personalize? Am I missing a role?

    Hi,
I am not certain which role you have currently been assigned, but generally the super admin role is used as an entry point on a default installation to customize and delegate other roles in the Portal.
Personalizing is generally a property which you make available on iView's for users to alter. It can also be hidden etc.
As admin you are required to customize the properties to display portal objects on the navigational bars or other navigational areas. This is done at role, folder, iView level.
    Hope this helps.

  • Vibrating alarm clock on iPhone 4 did not go off

I set the alarm clock on the iphone to wake me in the morning.  I had it set to vibrate.  I happened to wake up a few minutes before the set time but the phone did not vibrate at the time it was set for.  There was just a notice saying the alarm happened.   But if I test the alarm and set it for a couple of minutes from now it will then work fine.  The sound plays and it vibrates.  I actually would prefer it didn't make any sound but then it doesn't vibrate either.  Weird.   Does the alarm clock get turned off when the phone sleeps?  Is it possible for it just to vibrate without sound?

open your clock app, tap edit, select the alarm you want to apply the sound or song to then tap sound. Any songs available in the preinstalled music application can be used along with any ringtones currently on your phone.

  • Alarm signal interrupting tpsvrdone function

I have a server that contains no services. In tpsvrinit, I set an alarm and exit.
When the alarm signal arrives, the server executes a function and resets the
alarm. This way I can have a function that is called every 5 seconds in an executable
process that is administered by tuxedo, which is perfect. The only trouble I
can see is when I shutdown the server. In tpsvrdone, the alarm signal can arrive
and cause the tuxedo server to execute the alarm handler. tpsvrdone is never
re-executed and the server doesn't shutdown. I figured that I could cancel the
alarm as the very first thing in tpsvrdone, but even then, that doesn't guarentee
that the alarm signal won't arrive just before I do this. Is there anyway I can
tell in my server wether the server is being shutdown (ie. through the MIB) and
then from my alarm handler, check this and then complete the shutdown of the server?

If you return properly from the alarm handler, I don't know why tpsvrdone wouldn't
    continue where it left off.
But another way would be for you to have one service in that server, which you
could call before you shut it down so that it would cancel the alarm. In fact, the
server could just tpreturn(TPEXIT) at that point. You would be replacing tpsvrdone
with the service function, and calling a ud script instead of tmshutdown.

  • CoInitialize/CoUninitialize pair at app level, or at function level?

I've seen example of use of CoInitialize/CoUninitialize pair at app level, where they "bracket" the whole app and are called just once each at start and end of the app.
But I've also seen examples where they are called at the start and end of a single function. This means that they are called more often, presumably.

  • Level based measure and AGO function

    Hi,
I've a TIME fact table with a single dimension (TIME_DIM) and a single measure (WORK_DAY).
WORK_DAY is 1 if the day is a working day, otherwise it is 0.
This way I can get the number of working days by month, quarter and year.
(TIME is a logical fact table. WORK_DAY is phsical stored inside the physical TIME_DIM).
To have WORK_DAY work correctly when used with others fact tables, I've defined it as a level based measure, where all the dimensions are set to the "total" level, apart TIME_DIM.
    So far so good.
Then I created a new calculated measure WORK_DAY_PREVIOUS_YEAR.
I used the AGO function this way: AGO (TIME.WORK_DAY, TIME_HIERARCHY.YEAR, 1)
No complains by OBIEE, but this column always returns 1...
I've no trouble using level based measures.
    I've no trouble using AGO.
But if I mix them together they no longer work.
Do you experience this issue? Any workaround?
    I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.5

  • Windows Server Functional Level

If we change the functional level of one domain controller. replication will happen in all the domain under single forest or
we have to do manually in all domain under single forest. same question for forest too if we change in one forest it will happen with all forest and under its domain.

    Hi prm22mis,
Domain functionality enables features that will affect the entire domain and that domain only.
You can raise the domain functional level on the primary domain controller (PDC) emulator operations master only. The AD DS administrative tools that you use to raise the domain functional
level automatically target the PDC emulator when you arise the domain functional level.
Forest functionality enables features across all the domains within your forest.
You can raise the forest functional level on the schema operations master only. Active Directory Domains and Trusts automatically targets the schema operations master when you raise
    the forest functional level.

  • Raising Functional level - From 2003 to 2008R2

Recently I have completed the AD upgrade from 2003 to 2012. Now all sites have 2012 DCs only. Next i plans to raise the functional level of both Forest and Domain from 2003 t0 2008R2.
I want to know the things to take care before doing this upgrade.

    hi,
if you are only using 2012 DC's that you may want to go straight to 2012 functional level. The functional level change is generally classed as low impact and simply tells AD it can use all it's additional features.
There is no real roll back if any issues are caused during or after the change, so you need to ensure you have full backups and are aware of the forest recovery process. Make sure you have spoken to all your software vendors whose software integrates with
AD before doing the change to ensure that it won't affect the running of this software.
There is a very good article here from the MS Directory team on the process and the impact.

  • Raising Domain Functional / Forest Functional Levels

    Hi guys,
I've upgraded my AD servers to Windows 2012 and have removed all the Windows 2003 servers in my network.
However, I wish to implement fine grained password policy. However, my Forest and Domain Functional levels are still at 2003. The minimum requirement for fine grained password policy states that the domain functional level must be set to
    Windows Server 2008 or higher.
How do I go about raising the Forest / Domain functional level? Which functional level should I raise first (the forest or domain)? Will there be any downtime and implications if I were to perform the raise?
    Thanks guys!!

There will be no downtime when raising your Domain Functional Level or Forest Functional Level.
All you need to know is that by raising your DFL to Windows Server 2008 or higher, you will not be able to set it back to Windows Server 2003 without a recovery from backup (This is not a reversible operation without restore). Also, you will need to have
DCs that are running OSs with the same level as your DFL or higher.
If you are not planning to add DCs that are running OSs lower than Windows Server 2012 then simply raise your DFL and FFL to Windows Server 2012. FYI, as long as you have not enabled AD recycle Bin, you can downgrade the DFL and FFL to Windows Server 2008.
More about the benefits you can take by raising your DFL and FFL here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/understanding-active-directory-functional-levels(v=ws.10).aspx
