Alarm signal interrupting tpsvrdone function

I have a server that contains no services. In tpsvrinit, I set an alarm and exit.
When the alarm signal arrives, the server executes a function and resets the
alarm. This way I can have a function that is called every 5 seconds in an executable
process that is administered by tuxedo, which is perfect. The only trouble I
can see is when I shutdown the server. In tpsvrdone, the alarm signal can arrive
and cause the tuxedo server to execute the alarm handler. tpsvrdone is never
re-executed and the server doesn't shutdown. I figured that I could cancel the
alarm as the very first thing in tpsvrdone, but even then, that doesn't guarentee
that the alarm signal won't arrive just before I do this. Is there anyway I can
tell in my server wether the server is being shutdown (ie. through the MIB) and
then from my alarm handler, check this and then complete the shutdown of the server?

If you return properly from the alarm handler, I don't know why tpsvrdone wouldn't
continue where it left off.
But another way would be for you to have one service in that server, which you
could call before you shut it down so that it would cancel the alarm. In fact, the
server could just tpreturn(TPEXIT) at that point. You would be replacing tpsvrdone
with the service function, and calling a ud script instead of tmshutdown.

  • My new iphone 5c does not have an "alarm" on the clock function.  My iphone 4 does and it works perfectly.  What's that all about?

    I recently purchased a new iphone 5c unlocked in the States and have moved to Doha, Qatar.  When I went to set the alarm in the clock function a message came up saying I didn't have an alarm on the clock.  This is strange as my iphone 4 does and it works fine.  How can I add this feature to my clock?

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Signal Interruption to Router HELP

    New(ish) customer here.  Fairly happy except that the signal to the router is frequesntly interrupted, requiring me to close and open my browser several times.  Obviously something up here.  Have shut router off overnight, etc. still happens at the beginning and during each session.  Do I need a service call? FIOS is new to this neighborhood.

    Wow that's a bit overwhelming.  her ya go:
    What do you mean by "signal interrupted"?  The wireless signal?
    No, although I assume it is out if the hard wired desk top isn't revceiving a signal.
    The MOCA signal from the ONT to to the router?  The fiber signal from the CO to your ONT?  Can you be more specific?
    I am asuming the MOCA signal is out because the COto ONT signal is out.  Although I have never gone to the garage to look at the box. my guess was the fiber signal to the house was being interrupted.
    When this happens, what are the lights on the router doing?
    Sometimes all are out, sometimes one greenlight is on, not blinking. Sometimes a few are on, not blinking. Often re-opening a browser (where i have always received a message the internet connection is lost) will begin the happy little green light dance on the router and reconnect to the Internet. Sometimes only a router reset does the trick.
    Does the internet LED stay green? Or does it turn orage.  Never have seen an orange light on the front of the router.  See above.
    How are you connected to the router?  Wireless or cat5? Do you think we unenlightened users are supposed to know what a cat5 connection is? I am connected to the router via an ethernet cable less than six feet in length.
    How is the router connected to the ONT?  coax or cat5?
    Again, what's with this cat5 business?  There is a coaxial cable to my router from the (ONT?) box in the garage, about 20 feet away, same floor.
    When this happens, what are the lights on the ONT doing?  Haven't checked yet, but next time it freezes i will.
    Does the Network (fiber)  LED stay green, or does it turn red? YOu're talking about the ONT aren't you? See how I've learned? Again I don't know.
    Likewise, what is the MOCA light doing (if you have a coax connection to the ONT).? It seems, oh sensei, that I will have to check the ONT to get a before and after idea of what is going on.
    Granted all this is an irritant only, but DSL was steady, and I was told the FIOS signal was constant unless there are bigger neighborhood or system problems.

  • Vibration alarm level as a function of RPM

    I am working on the vibration panel for a machine with variable speed. The vibration alarm levels should be a function of the operating speed.
    Data Member Configuration screen accepts only constant values in the Alarm Condition box, HiHi, Lo, LoLo.  Is there a way to use a conditional alarm levels?

    You might consider using digital alarms and an expression, where the expression is evaluated with speed and vibration level, and the digital is true if in alarm.  Your alarm message and description then could publish the speed and alarm level to indicate the values, though it is a digital.
    Hope this helps.

    In pthreads, the threading model that must be used in your system, thread local variables need to be implemented, and it appears as though during deallocation of this thread specific data is where it's dying. That said, I would attempt upgrading your pthread libraries, appearing as though there is nothing in Java that is going wrong. That doesn't mean unfortunately that this is the source of wrongdoing, but it couldn't hurt to eliminate.
    I know there is libpthread-0.10.so out there, so there should be /some/ update to it. Reply if you need specifics.

  • Intermittent signal interruptions (green screen)

    Anyone else want to weigh-in on this issue? I have intermittent green screen interruptions, particularly during evening hours, making it very difficult to watch TV with my FIOS service. Tech support said the issue is known (see my recent chat transcript below). I wish I would've known when signing-up that my particular brand of TV has a compatibility issue with FIOS. I would have bought a different TV had I known. However, verizon has been silent on this issue. Thus and particularly considering verizon's deceptive billing practices, I pay top dollar for a service I can not use. They say they are working on the issue. I wish they would disclose the issue when people sign-up.
    See my last chat transcript. TV signal loss intermittently during peak (evening) hours. FIOS tech reset my STB, which fixed the problem temporarily, but the problem returned. he stated that a new STB is required and left a note with my account, which you should be able to view
    Antonio: There is a known issue w/the 7000 series box that is going to be fixed by a software push in the next week or so. When it goes off, what exactly does it do?
    gordon macpherson: STB stays on. signal is lost and screen turns green for a few seconds and then returns. This happens every few minutes, sometimes more frequently and more so at night. I have 2 stb and this is the only 1 with the problem
    Antonio: It doesn't say "currently unavai" just goes to the green screen
    gordon macpherson: correct
    Antonio: one moment
    Antonio: What kind of cable do you have from the box to the TV?
    gordon macpherson: HDMI. I tried 2 separate cables- both have the problem. Since the signal if fine during the am it is unlikely that the cable is the issue
    Antonio: It's not an issue w/a bad cable. Wht is going on is that the firware of the TV is not liking the firmware of the box itself
    gordon macpherson: why is the other tv not presenting a problem. Both are sharp tvs
    Antonio: Each of the TV and the box itself are all just highly speciliazed computers. And sometimes there are compatiblity issues. The temporary resolution is to reset your box by unplugging the power cable for 10-15 seconds. The more permanent solution is to use component cables from the box to your TV. Verizon is working on a fix for the issue, however we don?t have it yet.
    gordon macpherson: So others are having this same problem?
    Antonio: Yes sir
    Antonio: However it is not a problem w/all TV or all manfactures. We know what is causing the issue, however devising a solution is taking us a while longer
    gordon macpherson: when will there be a fix? It seems that verizon should not be charging for a service they are not able to provide
    gordon macpherson: i am essentially unable to use my 2nd tv with fios
    Antonio: We are working on a fix, but I don't have an ETA. It's not that we can't provide the service, it's that some of the programing in the TV has problems switching from analog to HD signals and back again
    gordon macpherson: there was nothing in the contract to specify that certain TVs would not work
    gordon macpherson: What is verizon doing for people who have this unresolved issue
    Antonio: Right now the solution is to put the TV on componet cables (which are HD cables)
    gordon macpherson: so there is no difference in signal quality between hdmi and component cables?
    gordon macpherson: will verizon provide the component cables
    Antonio: There is a slight difference. But we've had people in our call center w/the fios service test both cables. They say the difference is like being able to see an extra blade of grass
    Antonio: We can't provide componet cables, however if you are willing to get your own I can get a 25 dollar service credit to cover the cost
    gordon macpherson: I think this constitutes breach of contract. This issue was clearly known when I signed on, and there was no communication of a list of TV brands for which problems have been recorded
    Antonio: I understand your frustation and I can work w/you to get a credit for those componet cables.
    gordon macpherson: I appreciate that. however, I am paying for service compatible with HDMI
    gordon macpherson: If verizon is unable to provide the agreed upon service I request that my account be cancelled and the cancellation fee waived
    Antonio: Verizon is working on this issue. However if you wish to cancel you would need to speak w/our billing department.
    gordon macpherson: OK I will forward this transcript with my cancellation request. In the meantime, please provide the credit and I will use it to buy component cables and see if that helps. Thanks for your help
    Antonio: Ok. One moment for the to put that in
    gordon macpherson: Ok Antonio. I realize this is the best you could do from where you sit. I appreciate the help and was interested to learn that I was not the only one with this issue.
    Antonio: while I'm putting that in...did you want me to reset the box?
    gordon macpherson: No it was reset yesterday. I will reset it tonight.
    Antonio: Ok. I've got that request in. the Ticket number is MDDQ03T7Z8. This may take a couple of billing cycles to reflect
    gordon macpherson: I would encourage verizon to communicate a current list of TVs for which there is a signal issue, until resolved. Had this been done when I signed up I would simply have bought a different TV
    gordon macpherson: Ok thanks
    Antonio: I will pass that along. However because the issue is highly dependant on the firmware of the specific models that is very hard to do. One last thing. If you get the componet cables and it does the same thing, then in that case it is not the known issue and we will replace the box (but right now all indications are that it is)
    gordon macpherson: Ok. I will try that and see what happens. Do I need the 3 color (yellow, green, white) 2-ended cables?
    Antonio: The componet are the green/blue/red ones for the hd signal and the red/white ones for audio
    gordon macpherson: ok thanks. will verizon let me know when a software fix is available

    Two things to try.
    Can you plug another HDMI source into the same HDMI port in the TV?  As far as I know, a normal DVD player doesn't use an HDMI output, you'll need a Blu-Ray player.  This test is to make sure the HDMI port on the TV is working properly and didn't die on you.
    You are getting a picture now with the component cables.  That's fine.  However, the component cables only transmit video, not audio.  If you want to get audio, you need to connect another pair of audio cables from the FiOS box to the TV audio inputs that are linked to the 3-wire video input.
    The old HDMI cable transmitted both audio and video on the same cable.

  • Equium A100-063 PSAAQE: WLan signal interrupts

    Hi
    i'm italian so excuse me for my english.
    The 23rd of March Ive bought the Notebook EQUIUM A100-063 PSAAQE.
    Unfortunately I have found a problem that I can't resolve although numerous test I've tried.
    After some minute the connection wireless to my Router DLINK DSL-G624T falls and I must repeat the procedure of connection to Internet although the radio signal is always excellent, but after some minutes the line falls again.
    I approach without proplems with pocketpc and another notebook to the same router.
    Currently I have configured WEP key but I have tried also with WAP key, and also without key, moreover I have tried various names of SSID and to set up the IP in static mode and also in dynamic mode.
    I've verified that the version of the card Wireless driver is the last one.
    Can you help me in some way, please?

    Thanks for your answer. I've verified that the probable source of my problem is due to interference on the channel radio setting. When I've changed the channel from 6 to 11 the connection is remained stable for an hour until the problem has been repeated.
    In the same time the problem has been repeat, another Access Point has been activated on the radio channel 11 like my router, therefore I've configured my router in channel 9 and I don't have more problems.

  • Native Alarm Clock interrupted by push notifications

    I have an iPhone 3 GS with the latest ( as of 3/1/2011 ) IOS installed. The Clock application has 3 alarms set to go of each Weekday, 15 minutes apart , using the default alarm sound. This is designed to make sure I get out of bed for work in the morning, even if snooze or "ok" the first alarm.
    Environment:
    My iPhone is plugged into the charger ( can't have it not wake me up due to dead batt)
    Home Screen is in the foreground ( no apps open )
    Screen is locked ( but not passcoded )
    Alarms are set, the first one has snooze enabled, the 2nd and 3rd do not.
    For the last 2 days, the 1st alarm goes off, I swipe to unlock the screen, the popup message disappears, and the alarm sound stops. Note that I am not given the option to snooze or acknowledge the alarm, as soon as I unlock the phone, the alarm turns off.
    The next 2 alarms do not sound. If I fall back asleep ( like I usually do ), I wake up by myself, am late for work, and generally have a bad day.
    Has anyone else seen this issue? I've tried a multitude of alarm clock programs, but I always come back to the native one since it's the most reliable. I literally own 3 alarm clocks but prefer the iPhone for that purpose.

    I verified the issue. When my TextFree application notifies me ( popup message ) that I've received a new text, and then alarm goes off before I unlock the phone screen to view it, the alarm will not sound.
    I turned off notications for TextFree last night, and this morning( day 3 of 3 of testing ) the alarms that I set up worked perfectly. This issue might be true for any program that can do popup notifications, but my texting program is the only one that gets a lot of traffic.
    Solved.

  • Output signal interruption

    I created 15 sub-clips using new sequence. When I drop the sequence on the main time line, Once in a while I lose the video and the sound output. On the other words my Sony deck the audio bar is O and the monitor is black. When I double click the audio track and push the space bar to play, it goes back to normal.
    I also noticed that when I drop the Live type .IPR files ino the main time line in FCP the scale is 98.77% and not 100% why is that?
    Thanks,

    Answer to second question - Live Type file is 720x486 - FCP is scaling to fit in 720x480 timeline. Change the scale to 100% and position to 1,0 for best display.

  • Constant signal interruption

    Moved to Sky Boxes Forum

    Might be loose plugs,  or cables loose in the plugs,  or corrosion on the plug at the LNB,  or the LNB itself,  or intermittent cable chafing,  or a dodgy tuner in the box itself.  Take your pick.  Somebody needs to come out and check everything.

    The Authentication service is concerned with assuring that a communication is authentic. Authentication acts as an warning or a alarm signal. The function of the authentication service is to assure the recipient that he message is from the source that it calms to be from.</p>

    <p><strong>MAC Function:</strong></p>
      <p><a name = "MAC"></a> </p>
    <p>A MAC (Message Authentication Code) is a small fixed size block of data that is appended to the message. The technique assumes hat two communicating parties say (Source A and B) share a common secret key(k). When A sends a message to B, it calculates the MAC as a function of the message and the key. The recipient performs the same calculation on the received message using the same key, to generate a new MAC. The received MAC and the calculated MAC are then compared. If the received MAC matches the calculated MAC, then the message is said to be authentic.</p>

  • I would like to delay my alarms for a brief instance so that I know a signal is real and not a glitch, how could I delay an alarm for a second or two.

    I have a flow controller linked to fieldpoint that is tripping my alarm system (in Bridgeview) every time it reads a quick voltage difference. This occurs only for an instance, but it is enough to trip my alarms. I wanted to place in a 1 or 2 second alarm delay to make sure the signal is real, if it is than the alarm can trip. If it lasts for a brief instance I want the system to keep running and the alarm to ignore the glitch. How can I program that?

    The way you implement this entirely depends on your vi-code.
    An easy solution I could think of would be to low-pass filter your alarm-signals and check these values for limit-increase.

  • Signal function on complete of another function

    Argh.. This seems pretty easy but I cannot find information about this anywhere.  I might just be searching wrong..
    Anyway, I'd like to signal a function to run when another function completes.
    I am filling a scrollPane with some dynamic content and want it to resize once the content has filled in some dynamic text boxes.
    I'd like to signal a resize function once the function that fills in the scrollPane completes.  I tried something like this but it does not seem I can add this sort of listener to a funciton.
    scrollPanePopulate.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, scrollPaneResize);
    I might be missing something obvious or just be headed down the wrong path.  Thanks in advance..
    -j

    function scrollPanePopulate(event:Event):void{
    //show scroll pane
         scrollPane.visible=true;
    //create the temp variables
         var calledMarkerIndex=pntxml.row[pointindex].ID;
         var calledMarkerDate=pntxml.row[pointindex].DATE;
         var calledMarkerDescription=pntxml.row[pointindex].DESC;
         var calledMarkerContent=pntxml.row[pointindex].URL_OF_CONTENT;
         var imgSource:String = "<img src="+"'"+calledMarkerContent+"'"+"width='405'"+"height='280'"+"/>";
    //fill in the text
         scrollPaneContent.scrollPaneImage.htmlText=imgSource;
         scrollPaneContent.scrollPaneText.htmlText="<font size='12' color='#ffffff'>"+calledMarkerDescription;
         scrollPane.update();
         scrollPane.verticalScrollPosition=(0);
    and something like this would size my scrollPane to a reasonable size
    function scrollPaneResize(event:Event):void{
    //resize the scrollpane to content's size
         var imgHeight=scrollPaneContent.scrollPaneImage.height;
         var txtHeight=scrollPaneContent.scrollPaneText.height;
         var contentHeight=(imgHeight+txtHeight);
         scrollPane.setSize(510,(contentHeight+50));
    Finally..  What I'll ultimatley do is set this up so that if the two componenent in my scrollPane are too large (height+height) then I'll have a maximum size that the scrollPane can attain

  • Why the same function ToolTipText behaves differently in Jar and in Class

    Hi All! In my applet I use two similar statements from javax.swing:
    jListTeaSortSelect.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
    jProgressBar1.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
    Both work correctly when I run my applet from classes.
    Problem: When I run it from jar, composed from the same classes, second tool tip does not appear.
    I have no idea on where to get a hint to the solution. Could that be that the problem is caused by other graphical components or by the layout of the container?
    The applet and JAR in question with source code can be found on
    http://www.kobylkin.net/TeaTimer.htm , and the source code is included below in this letter as well..
    Thanks!

  • How to display my alarm summary with using listbox?

    i am using fieldpoint and labview to log and monitor the temperatures of my system.
    and i want to save and display the time, date and value of the alarm signal, can anyone give me advice?
    in fact i don't know how to show more than one data in sting.

    Are you using the Datalogging and Supervsory Control (DSC) module with LabVIEW? This module makes it really trivial to configure and display Alarms.
    For more info' on DSC, please take a look at this:
