View hangs during executing

I currently have a view set up and when I do an execute query on this view it works great, but only if I run the form standalone. As soon as I run through a menu it hangs forever. Any ideas?

Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

Pl post exact versions of "11g" and "Windows 7" - Home versions are not supported - you will need Professional or higher.
Looks like the "-ignoreSysprereqs" flag was used for the install - is there a reason for this ?

  • Labview 8.0 hangs during start

I am having a recurring problem with LV8.0 hanging during start every few weeks.  I startI click the LV icon, LV appears in the Windows taskbar and then it hangs.  The NI splash does not appear.  Once this behavior starts, it does it every time thereafter.  In the Windows Event viewer, I get the following message:
    Event Type:    Error
    Event Source:    Application Hang
    Event Category:    (101)
    Event ID:    1002

    Description:
Hanging application LabVIEW.exe, version 8.0.1.4000, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
I have contacted NI Support, but they were unable to provide a resolution other than suggesting a reinstall.  I've done a complete reinstall of LV 8.0 two times already and am poised to do it a third time.  I'm getting fed up with the uninstall/reinstall approach since this sucks up 1/2 day of my time per episode.
There are two potentially relevant entries in the Event Viewer, that occurred prior to LV8.0 going into perpetual hang mode.

Any help in finding a solution to this recurring issue would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

I'm glad to hear the ini file solution worked.  It was my first guess as to the source of the problem. The differences are so few between the good and bad file it would be useful if you could try a few edits to narrow the source of  the problem.  I only suggest this because it may be difficult to reproduce at NI since the problem may be specific to your installation of various NI software.  This will probably only take 10-15 minutes.
You'll see in the ini files that the differences come down to the lines that start with the list below.  I am most suspicious of the section starting ProbeDefaultCache.  I don't think the window position or recent files list has anything to do with the hang.  I am not sure why there are parenthesis around ",CleanUpWire" in the good ini file.  Everything below the empty line below is only in the bad ini file and not in the good.  I think I would start by 1) making it hang again with the bad ini file, 2) deleting everything from the bad ini below the empty line below, 3) putting quotes around ",CleanUpWire" in the 4th line below, 4) deleting the recent files list, 5) updating the window position, AND FINALLY 6) changing the ProbeDefaultCache to that of the good ini file.   If it turns out to be 2 that fixes the problem, I'd add it back and then delete lines one at a time.
Let me know what you find.

  • Crystal XI R2 ActiveX Viewer Hang

    Hi all,
I am hoping somebody may be able to help with a problem that has been driving me mad for a couple of weeks!
We have a report which is very old and has not been modified since July this year. We have never had any problems with it until about two weeks ago when one user started having problems. It is a pretty basic report looking at one foxpro table (via ODBC) with some simple formulas and a couple of sub reports. No graphics, charts or complicated formatting.
Our application generates the data fine but appears to hang when it tries to launch the viewer. It seems to hang in one of 2 places (although I cannot be 100% sure as I cannot recreate the issue on any development pc).  It either hangs when we try to make the viewer visible or when calling ViewReport in which case the viewer appears with a blank grey screen but the report is never presented. Sometimes in the second scenario the first page of the report will flash up and then disappear. No errors appear and if I then open the report directly in CR it displays perfectly.
However it does not hang every time. It only seems to happen when running the data for one set of parameters (although even then it will occassionally work!). We have tried various things to resolve the issue, all of which appeared to fix it for a short time, but none have fixed it.
Things we have tried are: -
    Disable anti virus
Remove the default printer and add a new one
Change screen resolution to a lower setting (this appeared to have the most reliable results?!)
Saved the report with "No Printer" selected
As mentioned above all of these attempts resulted in the report running fine a few times and then it starts failing again.
The pc spec is good - Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz 2gb RAM running XP SP3 and is probably slightly higher specced than other pc's which are having no problem at all.
If anybody has any suggestions as to what we can try next I would be very grateful. This pc belongs to one of our MD's and he is not happy as he uses this report 2-3 times daily!!
    Many thanks
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,
Great find with the temp folder. CR will request from the OS that it needs to generate a temp file, typically this is done if there is sorting or other second pass data processing going on and the data requires more space than is available in memory. Thus CR asks the OS to create the temp files. It's actually a process handled by Windows and through one of our files called CRHeapAlloc.dll. And as you have seen when the viewer closes the temp files are deleted so the process is working as designed. By the way, killing CRW32.exe or your application does not allow the Report Engine to clean those files up so in those cases you should delete them manually. One way is to create a Batch file on PC start up to delete the files from the temp folder.
Not sure if this will work but try renaming CRHeapAlloc.dll to *.org, if it's needed the Installer will pop up and extract that file into the \bin folder again, or where ever it's installed to. CrHeapAlloc is a memory wrapper around Microsoft's Memory Manager to handle issues MS has and to allow CR to manage the memory more effectively. Sometimes though it's better to let Windows handle it, renaming the file does this.
So when you see the Viewer hang what is your Executable doing as in is it maxing the CPU to 100% or does it simply stop responding? If it stops responding I believe what it is doing is some disk clean up or something of that nature is going on and CR is just waiting for the process to complete. Have you ever just let it go to see if you get control back in your app or the viewer?
Which brings up the next question, are you using an OEM build of Windows? You can tell for example when the PC starts up you'll see a Splash screen like "Windows for DELL..." There have been known issue with OEM builds of Windows, the Automatic Windows Updates don't always work properly. I worked with Dell on once case and even though they said nothing was different other than the splash screen using Modules and Process Monitor definitely showed there were differences... and Auto-updates did not always do the same thing.
See if this helps - 1477457 - How to enable/disable logging for the RDC?
Sorry you have to search Kbase for it...
What that will do is turn RDC logging on and it should/may show you what is happening when the temp files are being written.
Now that I'm thinking about this also there was a known issue where the RDC was marking files to be deleted and Windows was then telling the Hard Drive to delete the file which is all fine. The problem is the Hard drive was so busy it never had time to actually delete the file, Windows then assumed the file name was available and tried to write to disk and thus it generated a File lock error... But we fixed that.
    Thanks again
    Don

  • BB Desktop Manager for PC hangs during start-up

My wife has a 2 years old HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS, at Service Pack 1 level.  BB Desktop Manager for PC hangs during it's (BB Desktop's) start-up.  Initially the screen with BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the BB logo appears but then it goes away and a smallish screen appears and never changes from a blank grey screen.  If you mouse over the border it indicates it is not responding.  She has been using this product on this PC with no major problems for several years.  Looking in the Events Viewer, it seems the error first appears on 10/9/2011.  Yesterday I tried to fix the issue by installing the laciest version RIM 6.1.0.36 (she was using .35)  That made no difference.  I have the program set to run as an Administrator and have told Norton to Trust it.
The Event log entry for the oldest such event contains the following:
The program Rim.Desktop.exe version 6.1.0.35 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
    Process ID: 41d4
    Start Time: 01cc86f573d09df1
    Termination Time: 6677

    Report Id: aa0d892a-f2e9-11e0-a448-002713bd2c63
Since it is necessary to either task-manager the blank window shut or to tell it to force it to close, these errors may be generated by that action.
Today I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but still no improvement.    Any suggestions?

I have just copied in the most recent attempt to start it.  The full log is quite large

  • Nokia 5800 - The phone will hang during restart if...

I had bought this nokia 5800 three week ago. This problem did not occur on the first day. On the second day, after i put in some media files inside the memory card through USB connection (using nokia PC suite), the phone will hang during restart and i need to take out the battery to turn the phone off. This problem keep on happens until i remove the memory card from the phone. Somemore, this problem does not disapear even i remove those media files.
With this problem, i need to remove the memory card evey time i restart the phone and plugin the memory card again after the phone is turned on.
    Can anybody help me?
By the way, i would like to ask ---> if i plugin the memory card after the phone is ON, will it harm my phone or the memory card?
The memory card is original card come with the phone.

If this is happening when the MMC is not inserted then the fault almost certainly lies with the memory card somewhere.
A corruption of data can sometimes happen on the MMC when transfering files from pc to phone.
    Try the following.
    Menu
    Applications
    File manager
    E. Memory Card (select and go into E: drive)
    Options
    Menory card options
    Format
    Select Yes
Enter Security code (default is 12345 is not changed)
This will format your memory card, and should delete any corrupted data held on the card.
Note that performing a format on the card will delete all data held on it.
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • Server 2012 R2, EFI and vSphere 5.1 = Hang during OSD

I'm currently testing Server 2012 R2 deployment via SCCM 2012, on a VMware Virtual Machine.
I've run into an issue where if the VM firmware is set to EFI instead of Legacy BIOS the machine hangs during the Task Seqeunce - the OS image is downloaded and written to disk, the machine reboots to continue with the TS and then hangs at the blue
Windows logo, never to progress any further - screenshot here, same issue with Windows 8:
    http://www.cb-net.co.uk/microsoft-articles/34-configmgr/2078-configmgr-windows-8-uefi-and-vmware-esxi-5
ESXi platform is version 5.1, Virtual Machine Hardware Version is 9 - tested with version 8 as well.
Has anyone got this working successfully?
    Thanks, Chris

  • Flash Player 10.1.53.64 hangs during initialization

(Forking off from [previous issue created by me|Flash Player 10.1; that was since stickied and dedicated to a PowerPoint issue.)
SWFs generated on a machine where Flash Player 9.0.115.0 is installed, and viewed in any web browser on machines with FP 10.1.53.64, hang indefinitely during the initialization sequence.
As noted in the previous thread, SAP has submitted an issue to Adobe (that could be similar or related) here:
    https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-4843
Noting that Adobe has addressed the above issue, does this fix extend to web browser plugin versions of the Flash Player as well?

    Hi Matt,
i am also interested in the conditions in which the bug arises. I developed an complex application using Xcelsius 5.3.1.0 with
Flash 10.1.82.76 installed on the development machine on Windows XP SP 3. At a certain point of the development
it was not possible anymore to preview application in the development environment. After generating the SWF the
development environment crashed while initializing the application. But the generation of the SWF file was successfull and
also can be done without errors using the export function.
To solve the issue with the current adobe flash player i downloaded the adobe flash projector of the older version 10r42_34,
loaded the generated SWF without any problems (on the development machine) and used the function "create projector" to create
a stanalone application that includes the player.
The ".EXE" generated worked fine on the development maschine as well as on a couple of other machines. With the corresponding projector for Mac OS we also generated an application including the player for OS X wich also works fine on
    some mac books.
On the other hand, the application hang in the initialization process on other windows machines without showing any rule
by hardware or software configuration (see also the Post from Francis86 in Thread "Hanging during utilization: Flash Player 10.1.53.64").
Two other aspects might be of interest for you:
    1) In the context of the development i also experienced problems after a certain amount of components had been added, resulting
in a crash of the development environment. The only way to solve the problem was to delete components or replace them by others. It would be interesting to know where the limitations are.
    2) The tab-component seems to produce additional problems. The first design of the application structures the application in different views utilizing a tab component with 5 tabs and a lot of components (as few as possible) on each tab. The problem arose if one uses the reset-button component. The reset did not work for every component within the different tabs. By random some of the initial values had been reseted to its original state, others had be set simply to 0 ignoring its initial state.
I could only solve this problem by replacing the tab component with a menu and using visibility rules. This results in solver responsibility when switching betweent the "tabs" but the reset works fine afterwords.

  • Report Server report process hangs during formatting reports

We are using Forms and Reports services stand alone.
I am printing 2000 reports every day, 5% reports hangs during formatting pages, or at any page number while formatting. Has anybody seen this problem and what was the fix. I am seriously thinking to change the report server and move to crystal reports.

I am able to run request using Reports service. So this problem may be a setup issue.
    1) Ensure that in $OH\network\admin\tnsnames.ora you have the TNS entry fo the DB connection
    mydb, mydb.com =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = fullHostName)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = service_name)
If you have multiple Oracle Homes in the same machine please see that you have added tns entry to correct oracle home
    2) Set the logon user for the service . Please follow the steps given below.
    * On the machine that hosts the Reports Server, choose
Start > Settings > Control Panel
and double-click Services in the Control Panel folder.
    * In the Services dialog box, choose "OracleORACLE_HOME_NAMEReports[repserver]", where ORACLE_HOME_NAME is the home name of the Reports Server and repserver is the name of the Reports Server instance. The value of ORACLE_HOME_NAME you can see in registry .
    HKLM->SOFTWARE\Oracle\Home<x> -->ORACLE_HOME_NAME
    * Click Startup. The Services dialog window displays.
    * In the Services dialog window, select "This Account" in the" Log On As" section, and select an operating system user name and password. This specifies the user account under which the server process is run. The user running the Reports Server service must have access to anything the server may need.
    3) If these do not solve the issue, please turn ON reports tracing, restart service and post the exception/errors you see in log file here. Also please post the full request URL here.
To turn ON tracing in $OH\reports\conf\<serverName.conf> , uncomment the trace element.
The logs can be seen in $OH\reports\logs\server_name.trc and server_name-rwEng.trc
    Workaround
    4) Till the setup issue with windows service is identified, you can workaround the issue by starting server as a standalone executable. For that give ,
    rwserver server=server_name
    Thanks

  • IPod/iTunes 6 hangs during updating

I've just spent most of a weekend trying to figure out why a 40GB click-wheel iPod will not sync with iTunes. I'm at a bit of a loss here. I know there are several (long) posts on update issues - perhaps this is just another case. Here's the low-down:
    Gear:
    * iPod 40GB 'click-wheel' model, 3.1 firmware (2005-09-23 update), firewire interconnect direct to iMac (no dock)
    * iMac G4 1GHz, OS X 10.3.9, iTunes 6.0.1, about 1600 songs
    Symptom:
iPod appears on the desktop and can browse folders. iTunes starts. Hangs during iTunes update on a random song. Usually <20 into the list - but sometimes anything up to song 1000. Flashing 'do not disconnect' symbol freezes on iPod LCD, iMac hangs (Activity Monitor indicates a >90% cpu load on iTunes process, generally requires a 'hard' restart to recover the iMac - even after force-quitting the iTunes process).
    Tried:
    * Reset iPod
    * Restore iPod with 3.1
    * Restore iPod with 3.0.2 (2005-06-26)
    * iPod into disk mode and restore
    * iPod disk verify and erase using OS X Disk Utility, restore firmware
    * New firewire cable
    * iPod into diagnostics mode - run most tests including HDD scan (all pass)
    * iMac disk permissions verify/fix
    * Delete iTunes preferences and restart - library rebuilds
    * Copy music to a new location, delete all iTunes data, now start afresh and
use add to library to rebuild library
    * Removed songs and entire albums that sync freezes on (just freezes on
    another song)
    * Checked out iMac firewire ports with iSight
    * Discussed with Apple Tech guy at Genius bar, agreed pretty much all steps
had been covered. iPod exchanged believing something like iPod connector
to be the issue. No difference.
So I'm pretty much convinced at this stage the issue lies with the iMac software. iPod and cable have been thoroughly investigated and changed out. iMac firewire ports work with iSight.
I've seen some posts suggesting deleting and restrong from the 10.3.9 update the iPod driver (iPodDriver.kext). This seems pretty drastic! I'm hesitant to go get a Tiger upgrade - this should work with 10.3.9.
Apologies for the long post - but I'd be interested to hear views at this point.
    Thanks
    40GB click-wheel   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   iTunes 6.0.1

Hey, you the man. I just want to say thank you. I hooked up a just repaired touch wheel iPod to my son's g4 iMAC, and it kept hanging on random songs and even the one's it transferred, it did slowly. I tried everything everyone else has, I did restores and erases forever. And it kept hanging up, so I had to frequently disconnect the iPod to get control back of the computer. This morning I was on the phone with Apple tech for over an hour. His conclusion was that because some of the songs weren't purchased from the Apple Store, I needed to manually transfer each song one at a time. I had to go, so didn't get to try it until later today and same problem. Again I called Apple tech support. Guy was very nice, on phone with him for 90 minutes, he didn't think the first advice made much sense. He gave up in frustration when we couldn't get into the disk utility because iPod kept going to automatic update. He told me to call back tomorrow and speak to a specialist. He said he's never had this much difficulty with an iPod. After the call, I managed to get into the disk utillity and do the erase and repair but didn't do anything. When I finally deactivated the auto update, manually transferring the songs one at a time didn't solve the problem. I read your post, started up after disconnecting the iSight firewire cable, took a chance of activating auto update of songs again, and voila, it transferred all the songs (all 176 of them) in about 10 seconds, like a warm knife through butter. And as they said on Saturday Night Live, it felt "like butter." I will call Apple tomorrow and tell them they really need to do something about this. In the meantime, I'll keep iSight disconnected whenever songs are being transferred into the iPod.
Again, your advice is much appreciated. Thank you for the post.

  • IPod recognized, but hangs during update

So my iPod will show up in Finder and in iTunes, and automatic updating will begin. However, at random times during the update, sometimes 4 songs in, sometimes 65, the whole process will just hang. iTunes status screen gets stuck on flashing between "Updating iPod..." and Song 65 of 2054 and just flash between those two over and over.
Meanwhile, the iPod screen itself is also stuck and no longer flashing "Do Not Disconnect" -- it's a steady screen with none of the normal flashing.
    Tried resetting, doesn't do anything.
Tried restoring, and it hangs after Authenticate asks me for my password to Restore the iPod.
I wind up having to just force disconnect and force quit everything and restart.
Anybody else have this problem? Thanks for any help you can give.
Oh btw, OS 10.3.9, iTunes 4.9, iBook G4.

I am having the same issue where it hangs during update -- seems to always happen around the 1800th song. Here's more specifics:
-I've got 7000 songs in my Library
-my iTunes Music folder is located on an external FireWire HD
My Mac has no problems mounting the iPod. No problems restoring with iPod Updater. No problems with erasing using Disk Utility.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Resetting and then restoring via iPod Updater.
    2. Erasing/reformatting via Disk Utility, including zeroing out all data, and then restoring via iPod Updater.
    3. Resetting into Disk Mode.
    4. Manually updating songs.
    5. Automatcially updating songs.
Nothing works. I have been troubleshooting this for about 8 hours now with no luck. No matter what I do differently, it always hangs around song 1800. I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes -- and I have tried this with several different user accounts and on different partitions I have set up.
When it "hangs," the iPod itself just makes a the "clicking" sound of a HD. I'm wondering if the HD is just bad -- but it came up with no errors when checking with Disk Utility.
    Any more suggestions?
    Johnny

  • Arch Live CD x64 hanging during boot at "triggering uevents"

    Hello!
I recently was recommended Arch by a friend, and after I followed the 'Newbies Guide' and burning a live CD to install Arch with, it appears to hang during Live CD boot at "installing uevents."
I am trying to install Arch as a dual boot on a late 2008 MacBook Pro which is currently running x64 Windows 7. I have plenty of HD space (100gb free and 100gb unallocated to install Arch onto).

I get the same error weather I try to install x64 or i686 (I think that's what it's called). Is there any reason for this?
    Thank you!

You can try nomodeset.  Seems to be a failure in loading a driver for your hardware. To read more on similar issues, there's a few posts with more info and suggestions by googling it.

Thanks! I tried googling it myself but got mostly answers that didn't work. I'll try this!

  • Disk utility hangs during disk verify

Initially 'disk verify' registered errors on exit - minor error/issue it said, some kind of header problem, so I ran disk utility off the install disk. Now the machine's native version of disk utility hangs during disk verify, blue & white spirals forever.
This coincidentally straight after my gmail/google address/account was hacked a couple of days ago.

Have you tried booting in SafeBoot mode (shift key held on start
until login screen appears) then launch Disk Utility and then run
    its 'repair disk permissions' item, selecting the Macintosh HD;
and then note the repair window. It should fix something.
And when Disk Utility is done, quit it, and restart the Mac normally.
{...It is unlikely something from gmail affected your computer unless
you open up unknown sourced emails or go to odd web sites where
something may be downloaded from there, which you would almost
have to install (as admin, etc) for malware to work. You can get and
    try ClamXAV for free to see if it sees any malware virus content.}
If you use Gmail, and do not log in using the https:// (secure http)
you should change the habit and bookmark the secure login site.
And when booted from the Installer disk and running Disk Utility
from there, see about running "repair disk" and not verify. The
repair choice will verify; but verify will not repair. Could be if
you cannot use the Utility to Repair the issues, and the other
SafeBoot mode and the computer's Disk Utility to get it working
you may need to further troubleshoot and/or get third-party tools.
    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!
