View kernel releases of solution landscape systems

Hi,
the view of solution landscape in SM 3.2 (SMSY) provides information about releases and patch levels of each software component, but no information about the SAP kernel release and its patch level. Where can I find this information? I know that Early Watch Reports created by SM provide this data. It would be very useful, if I know the table where that data is stored.
Has somebody an idea how to use SM 3.2 to manage the kernel stacks of landscape systems?
Thanks a lot!

I found a solution for myself. There are serveral information MTE classes which provide the necessary information.

  • Error in RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK to Solution Manager System Message no. STMWFLOW025

    Hi,
I am facing an issue in our Test landscape. One of our team member uninstalled solman system which was connected to all other system. CHarms was partly configured in it, so other technical team used to reach to solman for creating TR# and also release the TR from Solman. Now that the system was removed abruptly we are facing this issue and I have checked few things as below:
    1) Checked for domain link entries in STMS and TP profile file, could not find anything. Nor there is any option to delete domain link as there is for create
    2) Checked the RFC its was working as new Solman with the same host name and other details has been brought back with out any settings yet in it.
    3) I deleted the RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK in the managed system and had a backup copy created before deleting it. But still get the error "Error in RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK to Solution Manager System" in more help I see this Message no. STMWFLOW025
    4) Message no. STMWFLOW025 - It gives me an indication that this is something to do with the domain link and the Workflow of the TMS.
    5) Checked BCOS_CUST table and it has an entry for this RFC. - Should I be removing this entry and will this resolve the issue?
I need help in resolving this issue and also if one of you could share a blog for the proper configuration removal process of a managed system from Charms and ITSM I think it would be very helpful. I could only find process and step towards configuration and not how to unconfigure the system.
    Thanks in advance
    Ashish

    Hi
The issue is now resolved, this is how I did it.
    1) Removed entries from BCOS_CUST from client 000 for OSS_MSG which was pointing to the RFC name
    Then got another error:
No RFC connection to the central lock information management system.
The project lock functionality is active in the local system, but there is no RFC connection to the Solution Manager system.
2a) Ran the report in SA38 TMW_CONTROL_PROJECT_LOCK with selection for Deactivate the "project lock functionality".
    2) Filled the "Deactivate Project Lock" field with "X" then clicked EXECUTE.
    Problem got Solved.
    Thanks
    Ashish

  • Solution landscape is  blank in DSWP.

Our tech. person configure the Solman of IMG and following
1)Configured one new solution with id,cust no,lang. etc.
2)Maintained system land landscape in SMSY.
3)LANDSCAPE components were --server,db,systems,system components were created.
4)Initial data transfer to IB52 was successful.
When we go to DSWP,Select solution, the next screen displays ,on left side
    --Solution overview,operation setup,operations Buttons.
But on right side nothing appears except blank white screen.
Why items like solution land landscape, solution monitoring or
service desk tabs or for that matter no Tabs appears.
    What is missing
    any ideas pl.?

    Hey there Ragh,
You need to go into the Solution Landscape Maintenace and 'activate' the respective systems befoe they will show-up in the overall map (assuming that you have both assigned logical components to your landscape already and activated monitoring as per the manual for Solution Manager).
In your landscape view - goto Operations Setup, then Solution Landscape Maintenance.  In the matrix of systems that are in the Landscape view, highlight the respective systems that you want monitored in the environment and hit the 'System' button (the one with the red and green ball in it).  The system icon should go green and now that system will show in your Solution Landscape.
Question why this occured?  You probably choose Poduction as the lead role and didn't have a production system in the logical component that you assigned.
Let me know if that helped with your problem.  If you don't have any systems to 'activate' then this is another issue all together.

  • Solution landscape doesn't appear in Solution Manager Diagnostics

    Dear all,
I have configured 6 Solution Landscapes in transaction solution_manager. One for ECC5, one for PI 7.0, one for BI 7.0, one for Solution Manager 7.0, one for SRM 4.0 and finally one for NW 04 Portal.
When I go to my Solution Manager Diagnostics URL
https://solman.domain.com:50001/smd and I do Diagnostics Setup --> Managed Systems --> Setup Wizard,  I see there all the Solution Landscapes I have configured except for the NW 04 Portal one. Any ideas why I can not see this landscape? I am trying to think if I have missed any configuration but I can not think of something
    Many thanks
    Andreas

Sad to say, Vista isn't a supported system for Acrobat XI.

  • 1 Solution Manager System - Mulitple Companies.

    Hi All,
Please provide some input/information regarding one Solution Manager system with multiple companies.
    Situation:
We currently have one Solution Manager system(SMP) that belongs to a main company. Under this company there are 5 separate companies. Each company including the main company has multiple SAP systems with different landscapes. Main Company - ECC6 landscape, BI 7.0, Portal, XI and HR Landscape. All other companies have their unique systems/landscapes with their own support personnel.
    Issues at hand:
How do we setup Solution Manager to run multiple companies? Do we setup different Solution Landscapes and add each company systems to their own landscapes. How does this effect Service Desk/Charm setup ?
We also want to implement Service Desk / Charm / EWA and all the other functionality that is available in Solution Manager. Is there any advise on this issue and what are the potential pitfalls.
Is it possible to be setup multiple clients and have each company work in its own client.
I would appreciate any advice and information that will assist us with making an informed decision on the best way to proceed with this. I have done research and cannot find any information pertaining to this type of scenario. I'm hoping there are other customers that have a similar problem/issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ricky

    Dear Ricky,
You are right. You sould create multiple solutions u2013 a solution for each company. Each solution comprises the landscape (systems) relevant.
I don't think setting up multiple clients and have each company work on its own client is a good idea. The solution manager supports monitoring and managing multipal solutions. By creating multiple clients you are loosing the advantage of one-point-of-entery. Besides, a lot of the customization in the SolMan is cross client.
    Regarding the service desk:
You may create a sold-to-party business partner for each of the companies (transaction BP) and assign each sold-to-party only to the relevant system/iBase in transaction IB52. This will allow you to screen the messages in the service desk by a sold-to-party/company.
    Regarding the EWA:
The EWA monitors the systems in the solutions. You may have as many solutions as you want.
    Regarding the Charm:
Sorry, we didnu2019t implement it yetu2026 you should keep asking abour that.
If you would want to use Business Process Monitoring - this is solution based, so I don't see any problem there.
    Hope it was helpful.
    Good luck!

  • Solution manager system log - strange entries

    Hi Everyone,
the problem we are facing in Solution Manager system log every five minutes appears a new error message:
2 Database error -30082 at CON

    0 > ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001
First of all the landscape: ECC, BI, CRM, PI and Solman. Each system is DEV, QUA, PRD - except Solution Manager.
Result of going to see the logs within work directory:

Some of the systems are being connected successfully and the error messages in SM21 are not related to those systems. But some of the systems like DCR cannot be reached. And this fact causing the error messages.
I haven't configured Solution Manager because I have joined the project later. I would like to know what job is trying to access the satellite system and for what purpose.
On solution manager side I have checked all the scheduled background jobs - all of them have been executed successfully.
There some of them are scheduled but it is hard understand what is purpose of the job.
I have checked and corrected system landscape through SMSY and have maintained all the RFCs. They all OK now.
What else could force to make a connection to satellite system? And where is the place where it is hardcoded local(satellite) db2 connection entry?
Like I said before, some of the systems are being connected but some not. The one which has not been connected - there was recently changed SAP master password. I believe this is the key to resolve the problem. But the system itself operating 100% correctly.
Perhaps it could be CCMS that makes some extra connections to collect the data from the monitored systems. But I have checked all the RFC's in SM59 and they were OK.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    Artjom.

    Kaustubh Krishna,
    thank you for respond.
It was dbacockpit. The connection was maintained with old db2sid password. And it was causing problematic log entries.
    Problem was solved.
    Points awarded.
    Thanks,
    kind regards,

please help me , what should i do ?
I am waiting for your positive response.
    Regards
    Shubh

    hi,
    You can try following ....
    For the job SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUP
    Program : AI_SC_SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP
    1. Up to Support Package 09:
    a) Start transaction SMSY.
    b) Choose Shft+F5.
    c) Select the system named in the message.
    d) Choose F6.
    e) Select the "System Data in SAP Support Portal" tab.
    f) Using the input help, fill the system number field with the correct system.
    g) Save the data.
    2. Up to and including Support Package 08:
    a) Start transaction SOLMAN_CONNECT.
    b) Select the system in question in the ID field and choose the filter pushbutton.
    c) Select the system and select "Create configuration".
    d) Fill the system number field using the input help with the correct system.
    e) For example, select the "BW GUI Connection" service type.
    f) Carry out all of the subsequent steps of the Configuration Assistant until you see the "Finish" pushbutton.
This establishes a unique relationship between your system in the Solution Manager and the system number in the SAP Support Portal. Problems no longer occur with this system when the SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP job is next run. However, the problem may still exist for other systems (in these cases, you should follow the same steps).
Hope this will help to solve your issue..

  • SolMan 4.0: SMSY: Delete unwanted landscape from Solution Landscapes

    Hello there everyone,
Previously, my colleague and I have created a few solution landscapes in SMSY -> System Groups and Logical Components -> Solution Landscapes - Operation.
We were experimenting as we're new to SolMan 4.0.
Problem now is, we cannot find the button to delete off those unwanted solution landscapes. When right-click on a landscape, it only shows 'Display' or 'Change'.
Is there anyway to delete within SMSY?
Many, many thanks in advanced. =)
    Warmest regards,
    Eva

    Hi,
    Its simple.
You should create a where-used list before you delete systems, servers or databases....
1.You cannot delete an object you are editing, if you are in change mode. Go to display mode.
    Choose Landscape Components-->Other Object…
2.Search for the landscape element to be deleted, in the possible entries help.
    3.Choose Delete.
    4.Confirm the confirmation prompt.
The landscape element and all its uses are deleted.
    Check this link also.

  • Error in editing object: Error in RFC to Solution Manger System

    Hi All,
Our System release is ERP 6.0 EhP4 and our DB is Oracle.
When we try to create or edit any object (eg: Function module, package, function group, tables) in our system and save it in a local workbench request, we are getting an error which states:  Error in editing object: Error in RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK to Solution Manger System.
Though we have deleted the RFC SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_BACK, we still get the same error when we try to edit an object and save it in a workbench request. But when we save all these in a local object instead of a package we do not get any error.
Can any one please suggest some solution for this?? As we are held up in some critical activity.
    Regards,
    Yamini.

    Hi,
Not sure - but maybe a cross system lock seems to exist. Perhaps you can check this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_em70/helpdata/en/43/7227481a856fcae10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Or else create the Back RFC to SolMan and check how it proceeds.

  • Solution Managers System monitoring and CCMS/CEN

    Hi.
Could anybody enlighten me on the Role of  CCMS / CEN in the Solution manager Monitoring.
I have set up solution manager to Monitor my landscape. I have set up user defined limits and email alerts. These Alerts and the alerting agent - I assume - are carried out on the system being monitored.
Now the question - I want the Solution manager box to be the CEN and do the Alerting centrally (from the SM box)  -  Will the MTE's and Alerts that I have assigned and configured through System Monitoring use the properties set up though the CCMS?
I assume I will have to install the CCMS agents on all the target boxes - Will the Solution manager box process the Statics and send out the alerts from itself? If so How much workload does this place on the network and the box?
Why does the solution manager not act as the central processing and alerting box from the start? If we go through the effort of setting up the monitoring - why does it not set up Collection and Alerting at the same time?
    Any feedback will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Terry H.

    Hi Terry,
Solution Manager System Monitoring is using CCMS infrastructure, so we have two different ways to collect data (alerts) from the satellite systems, first via CCMS agents as you mentioned or the option to use RFC destinations to read the alerts. This can be configured automatically by SMSY in Solution Manager. The second option produces higher network workload, because every alert will be checked every 3 minutes, with agents only new alert values will be pushed.
I hope this info helps you

  • Solution Landscape vs CEN Setup

    Hello all,
i am unsure how to setup the Solution Manager 4.0 for monitoring a sattelite system like a XI-Server.
    Possibility one:
Within the Solution Manager you can maintain a solution landscape. The solution landscape allows monitoring CCMS alerts on the sattelite system as well as administering the sattelite system by calling several transactions remotely on the sattelite systems.
    Possibility two:
On Solution Manager you have also the possibility to setup the Solution Manager as CEN (rz21). Relevant CCMS data is polled via RFC connections or pushed by agents from the sattelite systems to the CEN.
    Questions:
What are the advantages/disadvantages on using one or the other possibility? Or is it even a good idea to use both?
    Thanks for answers
    Frank

    Hello Frank:
    1) From the Solution Landscape in the System Monitoring area you will have the possibility to look at the CCMS information that is currently gathered from your monitored systems; you can also from there complete the alerts or navigate into the system to analyze the problem.
    2) from CEN you will be able to trigger alerts in terms of email or pager notifications, this is useful if you don't want to look at System Monitoring in the Solution Landscape but you want sort of strong alerting capabilities from a central location if for instance some particular component in the SAP system has reached some threshold value.
I will recommend to use both !
    Hope this helps!
    Best Regards,
    Federico

    Hi all,
I have installed an application server for 4.7 ext.set 2 on windows while my central and database instance run on an AIX server.

  • Kernel Release 700 Patch Number 83

    Hi,
    I need help!!!
We load the kernel last night and the Instance won't start then re-applied the old kernel we have the same result.  DO you guy have any ideas SAP ask me to IPL the system and don't have any luck.
We are on Kernel Release 700 patch number 80 for 2 weeks after the upgrade.
I received this message on the STARTSAP job and looking for the upgrade directory.
    Message . . . . :   collectSystemInfo: could not open
    profile directory "/usr/sap/putr3/DEV/SYS/profile".
    Ramon Mora

    Hi Ramon,
as discussed with you, this problem occured because of your RMVSAP before. Therefore the IGS was deleted.
As you didn't implement note 937000 before, it was still deleted after APYSAP and therefore SAP was "unhappy" and stopped immediately after trying to start :-((
As the IGS in R3 systems is very RARELY used, a common workaround is to patch the start-profile that way, that IGS is no longer started.
