View last instance Reports Webintelligence with KM

Hi, experts
I have webintelligence reports that are integrated with BO KM by OpenDocument and I need to open the last instance for each report. I checked the Document "Xi3-1_url_reporting_opendocument_en" and I need to implement the parameter sInstance=Last.
Within the opendoc URL in KM/System Configuration (BusinessObjectsKM.par) is the call only OpenDocument.jsp without parameters. I don´t know where add this parameter. Other parameter, IDocID already exists and is dynamically generated for each report.
Please advise how and where I can implement this parameter

No underline is visible in pivot view of a report.

I have report in which I have used GOURL. When I click on the result, underline is showing under the result in Table view unless underline is set for Effect in Column Properties->Style of the column. But for the same report, no under is showing for the that column in Pivot view. When i set underline for Effect in Column Properties->Style of that column, its showing underline.
Why it is like this? can any one explain me please.

Hi,
When you implement GoURL it would imply you are using anchor tags i.e. <a>...</a> in your column formula. By Default, obiee displays underlines for any columns having anchor tags in Table view. But in case of Pivot Table, for all such columns (which contains anchor tags), the underline is disabled. This can be observed in the views.css file which is used by obiee for rendering style to different views.
If you are on 10g, you can try this. Just add a static text to your report with below content (enable HTML markup):

.PivotTable A:link, {
text-decoration:underline;
</style>
Once you add this static text view to your report (along with table and pivot view) you will observe that the underline below the columns would be displayed by default in pivot view too.

Multiple Lync instances with instance reporting and centralized reporting

Hi everyone,
This is my first post here and I guess I'm looking at a very particular situation but I would like to know if anyone ever attempted to implement a similar environment...
So we are looking at using Lync for webchat and internal communications. The product in general seems to meet our requirements but I would have an extra question for reporting.
The thing is we would like to have multiple instances of Lync to segregate users and the pools of users.
We would like to have a central Lync server that has our company users.
Then we would have many Lync servers of independent companies that could communicate with the central server, but could not communicate with each other.
So we would like to know if it is possible to provide all those independent companies with their own reporting that would only show them their own data, and have a central reporting hub with data from all the instances centralized in a single server.
I was wondering if it was possible to do with an existing product, or with log shipping in a special instance of SQL server that would get all the information from all different instances. Then we would connect to that instance?
We do not have a lab right now but I'm working on getting it done, but if anyone did anything that is similar, I would love to get some input on this.

Would the separate companies administer Lync independendly or would you?
In this situation, I'd actually suggest Office365/Lync Online. However, that said:
If they need to administer Lync, you may want to look at the now dead Lync Hosting Pack.
If you're going to administer, and they absolutely can't talk to each other, you could set up multiple pools each sending monitoring archiving data to their own copy of SQL and set up an ethical wall or MSPL script to keep them from chatting.

Kernel panic, machine check, uncorrected error correlates very strongly with RAM memory errors.

How to hide the view latest instance option for the reports in XIR3

Created an access level and denied the rights "view document instances" and "view document instances that the user owns" in the access level.
Applied this access level for a particular group on a particular folder.
Login to Infoview and when view the history,there are no instances for a particular report under that folder.
But we could still see the 'View Latest instance' option in the properties of the report and when click on it,we are able to view the report.
As per the security assigned,the user should only be able to view the instances owned by him.
Plz help me how to hide the option in INFOVIEW

In 9.3.1 (not sure about 9.2) there is a table in your BIPlus repository which stores preferences/profile information, however, having a user simply log in to WA doesn't appear to automatically create a row for them in this table. (So this may not be a viable solution to your situation, I'm still looking for one myself.) This table stores lots of preference info such as whether or not to show the Main Menu, Toolbar, Masthead, etc. by default.
To hide the View Pane, edit the data in the SHOW_INFO_PANEL column, change it from a 1 to a 0 and for that user the View Pane will not longer appear by default.

But again, this only works if you already see the user in the table otherwise I guess maybe they have to 'touch' their Preference before it creates an entry in that table. Haven't figured that part out yet, and Support didn't have any information.
If anyone has found a way to maneuver through the table structures I'd love to hear any insight you can offer.
Before you make any changes to the data in this table be sure to take adequate repository backups, and use caution as usual.
I'm going to create a Shared Preference and have each user point to it the first time they log in - but then you lose the ability for each user to have their own personal folder as their default, so it's still not the ideal solution. Really wish there was a way for Admins to set certain prefs. A coworker reminded me under 7.? or 6.x things like View Pane were system-level settings which was easy to control, but now it's at the user level.

Using DB2 views in crystal reports with java

We have used DB2 views in Crystal Report 11.
We are able to view the report through crystal report tool but while using this rpt file in java application,the DB2 view is not found.
It gives an error: "table SCDC.View_report not found."

Last Price report only allow sales price to view

The last price report included sales & purchase price. The customer wanted only sales employee to view customer sales price and block purchase price to view on the last price report.
Is that any alternative way & available function on latest version 8.8?

Problem with Periods' point of view on Financial Reporting Studio

i have a problem on some reports: i fix Periods' Point of View on Financial Reporting Studio signing in with Admin user. I do this to let other users see just a part of the dimension structure on workspace,but when i open workspace signing in with a generic user i can't see any changing: user can see all elements of the dimension. Otherwise If i sign on workspace with admin user i can see the Periods'POV i have fixed on reporting studio previously. So do you have any idea on what i can do to solve this problem?

Could u plz clarify your problem bit more.
Are you facing a problem while running the reports through work space..? While running the reports, is affected generic user getting a POV window..? If you are concerning about hierarchy that you select through POV window then It might be possible that POV might have got corrupted for that generic user and in that case we can delete the POV and set up the new POV again for that user.

My web application (ASP.NET in C #) uses the ReportViewer 2010 component to show the report.
I use windows authentication and log onto the Web Service on Report Server with a M2M user on the RS server.
The trouble is that the rendering of the report fails and the body of the report remains WHITE. However the .aspx page is displayed without errors and control report viewer loads the parameters even if you can not select.
Report manager render correctly reports also from the web server.
The same solution work fine if deployed on Single Server.
The machines are under firewall. The Report Server service run on 80 port. It should open more doors between the two servers?

According to your description, you configure a ReportViewer control in remote mode to display a published report. When running the application, report displays blank and parameters can’t be selected.
As we tested in our environment, report can display correctly when using ReportViewer control in remote mode, and parameters also can be selected. In your scenario, please make sure the report can display correctly on remote report server. And try to click
refresh button on application to check if report can display correctly. Regarding our test results, please refer to steps below:
1. Add port 1433 and 80 under windows firewall on remote server.
2. Create a new windows application project, then add a ReportViewer control to the application.
3. Configure the ReportViewer control for remote processing.
4. Build and run the application.

Kill last reports job with web.show_documents ?

Hi,
I call the Reports service for creating PDF - reports from a Forms modul ,
after creating the report I kill this last Report-job with web.show_document but get the xml response in a new browser window.
Is there another method to send the Report request from Forms without opening this second browser window incl. response data ?
(e.g. a atomic security bundle: Show report result & kill the job ..)

Eventually , the report run... when the active thread got the value 1. How is it done...(i mean the value of 1 , instead of 2 when the report started...????) How to secure that the active thread would be 1 if this is the problem...????
However , because the report is 2 page accross.... the report displays the first page and down the other page.... Is it possible to display both pages accross as i see them in report builder env....?????

Please describe:
Computer model & hardware characteristics (especially RAM).
How much free space left on HDD.
Any add-ons you may have added to the system (antivirus, screen eye candy, etc.)
What applications were running when the crash occurred.
What were you doing when the crash occurred.

How does one view all scheduled reports?

I am scheduling 12 reports to run monthly. I don't find any view in which to see all of my scheduled reports, in order to verify success (or failure) of last instance run, to delete or modify a report's schedule, etc.
I also see no such "I am scheduled" indication or view on individual reports.

To add to John's response, you would be able to get the list of all schedules, through the
1. Instance manager. Log on to CMC and go to instance manager to see all your report schedules.
2. You can always navigate to a reports history to view its instances.
3. Run the below query in the Query Builder (AdminTools) application to get the list of schedules
SELECT SI_ID,SI_NAME,SI_PARENTID FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_INSTANCE=1
The above query would bring you 1000 results of all the report instances in the CMS database, irrespective of the kind of the report.
You can fine tune your query as per your requirement if you need to get the instances of particular report. Below is the query to get instances for a particular report
SELECT SI_ID,SI_NAME FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_PARENTID=<ReportId for which you need to get the instances> AND SI_INSTANCE=1
4. By using BusinessObjects SDKs. For working with BO SDKs, you would need to be familiar with the 3rd option above as through the code you would be executing similar queries to CMS database to get the results in your application.
Regarding your query 'We want to have the ability to let any users go to one page/or click a link in webi and the page would show all of that user's scheduled reports in one single list where they can view and edit the report's schedule.. I wonder if that is possible to achieve'
This is surely possible using the BusinessObjects sdks. For more queries regarding it, you would probably have to post your questions in the java sdks space. Below is the link for the same.

InfoView - Default view latest instance possible?

Hi,
I have an issue with InfoView, and the opening/viewing of Desktop Intelligence reports.
The report I am talking about is scheduled on a daily basis (each night) so users don't have to refresh it every time they open it.
To view it via InfoView, they have 2 options:
a) The most usual and logical is to press the main hyperlink, the one which shows the name of the report. This is always showing you the report with the data from when you did a last refresh of it (report is set to not refresh data on open). Seemingly totally ignoring the scheduled instances!
b) Users can also open via 'View Latest Instance'. This shows the last result(instance) of the last successful schedule of the report.
This is confusing, since I would of course like the users to view the latest version(instance or whatever) of the report in both scenarios a and b.
Is it possible to make the main hyperlink with the name of the report point to the latest instance of the report also?? Or am I wanting too much here???

Hi Frode,
Yes you can... In the CMC, goto to BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications --> InfoView and the Object Listing property set (1) View the Object or (2) View the latest successful instance of the object.
This is a global setting and affects all users so changing this setting here will make it the default setting for all users. No individual setting is available for a user.
