Viewing HTML email on Pearl

I have just upgraded the software on a Pearl and Curve. The Curve has an option allowing the viewing of HTML email to be enabled under email settings. The option does not seem to be available for the Pearl 8110. Is the Pearl unable to view HTML even with v4.5 installed?
Thanks

is the Pearl using the same phone provider as the Curve ?
are they corporate devices ?
if not, then you are using BIS. Depending on the carrier, you may or may not be allowed to view HTML email.

  • Cannot view HTML emails on Curve 8530, but HTML option is selected in email settings.

    Hi,
I cannot view HTML emails on my Blackberry Curve 8530, but when I go to email options, HTML is selected. Why isn't it working?

    Hi
    Maybe the device needs resetting
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem.

I guess I am going to have to move my problem around. On site http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=webossoftware&thread.id=884&view=by_date_ascendin... POST 198, last Pic, THIS is my problem. Here are 2 examples:
    http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/IOXpzuC1wsGIQatVYkcwxg?feat=directlink
One is a FWD and One is a reply. I have not applied the patch directly from here as I don't know how to do a patch unless it is a copy and paste using my rooted pre and "putty". My Pre is up to date on the latest version. My exchange is "unknown" but more than likely 2003. I HAVE applied the patch from Webos-intenals http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Applying_Patches (that by the way is no longer there). it was applied after the most up to date Pre webOS.
I cannot get replies from Pre-central so I stoped using them........as well as they're related sites which are pretty much just copies. I am getting nowhere on the site here about email formatting that states "resolved". Obvioulsy it isn't.
    Can ANYone help ??

  • How do I send Plain Text email and view HTML email as Plain text

On the Z10, how can I send a plaintext email message? And how can I view an email message as plain text?

I agree with everyone else here. For Blackberry NOT to allow text email just seems ludicrous. It is the kind of thing Apple would do to their hypnotized fans. Surely it isn't up to Blackberry to dictate how people send and receive email. There job is to enable people to work in the way that they want to work, which for many people means TEXT only emails. Like others I have run into problems using systems that expect text only emails (e.g. Toodledo) and just figured I would switch the Z10 to text mode. Shocked when I found out I couldn't. I really like my Z10, but can't help but feel in some ways Blackberry have made massive backwards strides, e.g. Blackberry Protect, Blackberry Connect (is that the thing that connects it with the playbook - I can't remember as I stopped using it when I realized all the features had vanished), etc. Come on Blackberry, we want killer features in the Z10 and not features killed :-)

  • Mail Crashes on viewing HTML email

    Hi,
I've been having trouble with Mail crashing when I click on an email that is formated as HTML or RTF. Not all of them will crash Mail just certain emails. I have notices that emails that come Microsoft Outlook on windows tend to crash Mail readily.
This pretty much started with the last software update. Here is what I done to trouble shoot this to no avail:
    1) repair disk and permissions.
    2) re-install combo updater while booted from external firewire drive.
    3) create new user in OS. login as new user and test Mail with email that crashes Mail. This time Mail does not crash it renders the email correctly.
    4) Login as user account with issue. go to Library and remove all folders and files from Mail, Mail Downlaods, Caches/Mail, and the com.apple.mail.plist from Preferences. restart Mail, added email account, clicked on email, It still crashed.
    5) Not sure if related but Safari is also crashing on certain web pages. maybe these are related.
    Any suggestion would be great
    Sincerely,
    Mike

    Hi Mike.
It looks like this could be a font issue. Since the problem isn't system-wide, if it's really a font issue, it can only be that either an essential font has been disabled, or a font cache has become corrupt. If the former, the following article would be relevant:
Font Management in Mac OS X Tiger and Panther
If the latter, take a look at the following article for general troubleshooting and cache cleaning procedures:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
Be sure to read this in particular:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
In addition to the utilities mentioned there, you may also consider OnyX or Cache Out X, which are free, although for this particular problem, Font Finagler is probably the most appropriate.

  • How to send HTML email in Mail?

    Hello All,
I would like to write an email in HTML, just copy and paste the HTML code into mail, and have it sent as HTML. How do I have mail do this? Thanks!

You can't do that; or rather, you can, but it won't work. You can view you r HTML file in Safari, then use the 'Mail Contents of This Page' option and Safari will insert the rendered HTML. But if your recipient doesn't have their mail program setup to view HTML email, they won't see whatever it is you're trying to accomplish.

  • E72 HTML email - Cyrillic encoding?

Reading Cyrillic emails in plain text is no issue in any encoding (windows 1251, KOI-8, ...)
But if email is HTML only when I click "view HTML" Cyrillic is displayed incorrectly - like "ÄÐÑü"
I tried changing deafult page encoding in Internet settings - it helps with web pages but it does not help with HTML emails...
Is it font issue or encoding settings or???
    Many thanks!

This is a backward step from the E71. In fact, I am unimpressed with the email solution on the E72 compared with the E71, with is inferior to the lastest version on my E71 (I've moved back to the E71 from my E72).
Whether I want to see HTML emails (I do) or not should be for me to decide in the settings as I can in Nokia Messaging on the E71. The E72 is a step backward in that you still have to select 'view HTML email' and even then the HTML support is poor. This was like one of the previous verisons of Nokia Messaging on the E71 before Nokia updated it.
Don't be fooled into thinking that Nokia Messaging being integrated into the firmware on the E72 is a good thing; it's not! The solution is inferior to the current standalone version of Nokia Messaging available on the E71.
MfE may be a step forward, but when it won't work with Google Mail for Domains (like my E71 did without any problems) it is pointless. I even have problems with Roadsync in that 'push' email causes some loop on the contacts synchronisation which then results in push email being switched off.
All in all, the E72 is not the great step forward unless you use Exchange 2007 and use the newer version of MfE. For any other 'consumer' email (which we all like to have work and personal email on out smartphones) it is POOR!
Come on, Nokia, sort it out! Don't you have any beta testers? Surely some ex-E71 users would have been able to point out these massive inadequacies!

  • Upgrade to 4.5 device software on Telus Pearl 8130: HTML Email viewer doesn't work

I just upgraded the software on my Telus Mobility (Canada) BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (from 4.3).
One of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade was to take advantage of the HTML email viewer (yeah!  finally!).
My installation went fine, and the View Messages in HTML option is enabled (was by default, have verified it again).
On my first test email that I sent to myself from my Yahoo account to my default ISP email account, here's what happened.  The Yahoo email uses a very simple "stationery" as background, consisting of two small graphic files, one in the upper left and one in the lower right.  In between those two graphics is the text you wish to write.  So I put the words "test test" in the text portion and sent it to myself.
When the email was received on the Pearl, indeed I saw the two graphics.  However, the text was not displayed.
That was the first attempt.  The second attempt produced no graphics at all.
I also tried sending myself an email using some formatting, like bold fonts, different text colors, underline and one jpg file.  None of the formatting came through, and the jpg came through as an attachment (instead of in the the body of the email where it was placed).  When I tried to open the jpg, by clicking on "1 Attachment", I got an error stating that it is an unrecognized file type and cannot be opened.
So it appears that the upgrade took 1 step forward and 3 backwards.
Anyone experience this, and if so, is there a fix, either now or in the works?  Does RIM Support read these forums?
Telus Tech Support said that something is being done but they weren't too specific.
I have another upgrade-related question regarding Documents to Go, but I'll post that in a separate thread.

    hello,
about your Bluetooth problem, I suggest you one a new discussion on the decicated board called "BlackBerry Accessories". ou will find there experts about Bluetooth.
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board?board.id=accessories
about the third point : it usually takes a long time for the device to emerge after a battery pull. It's quite common, you can't do anything about it.
about the second point. In my opinion there at least one picture that is corrupted (or one index file).
in the folder containing that image, do you have many images ? Let's call that folder A.
I suggest you to move them one by one into another folder B, then scroll through the folder A.
it will certainly reset a few times, until at one point it wont' freeze, meaning the folder A does not contain the corrupted image anymore.
you then know that the last image moved from A to B is the culprit.

  • BIS users in Pakistan::: HTML email view with images

Mobilink, service provider, has updated their BIS to 2.5 in July. But they are unable to provide HTML email view with images on Blackberry sets running on ver. 4.5.
Mobilink says that it is only available to BES users at the moment. BIS users will get it late on.
Please explain, is it a Mobilink issue or RIM? as all around the world BIS users are getiing it.

i dont beleive this. RIM wont leave  out Mobilink, infact they cant. The upgrade was done on BIS servers across the board not for some service providers. You probably wanna try another device or may be re-install oS On device?

  • How to view all pages of a multi-page HTML email in Mac Mail 5+ (Lion to Mavericks)?

In previous versions of Mac Mail (up to that included with Snow Leopard, Mail 4), it was possible to scroll through all pages of a multi-page HTML email, like that send from the Tivoli Storage Manager reporting system.
Since Lion, that has not been possible. The first page displays, but that's it.
As a possible complication, I'm accessing an Exchange server, not IMAP.
I have not been able to find a setting that might be related to this, nor have I found anyone who seems to be perturbed by this issue. Perhaps there's very few of us trying to read multi-page Tivoli reports on a Mac.
In any case, I would prefer not to switch to a different mail app, or sign on to the Outlook Web Service version of our email to see the full report.
    Any thoughts?

I've been able to find someone willing to do some testing that I can't do without installing old versions of Reader on my computer.  The surprising (to me) result is that the Submit button causes the problem.  By simply removing the Submit button, Reader 10 is now able to print page 1.  The Submit button was set up to do a "mailto".  I don't know whether other destinations also cause the problem of the page not printing with old versions of Reader.

  • Two Pearl 8120s. both running os 4.5 - One recieves HTML emails, the other does not

I have two 8120s on Tmobile, both running os 4.5.0.44.  One receives HTML perfectly, but not on my tmo.blackberry.net account, only from my POP mail account.  The other one will not receive email on either account (TMO or POP).
I have tried sending it service books many times.  The email options settings are set to "Enable HTML Email" for all accounts.

  • Why is my HTML email showing up wrong in different email account?

I've seen this before and I think it has to do with CSS (which I realize isn't supposed to be in emails), but I'm super new to this and have scoured the internet to find out exactly what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. It shows up properly in my Yahoo acccount, but not in my Gmail accounts (which initially threw it in Spam, if that has anything to do with it). I only know the very basics of HTML and CSS, but still have get this work done and I'm assuming someone will be able to view the code and see what my issue is pretty quick - I hope! It previews in browsers just fine, it's only when I'm click "Forward to a Friend" to send it to myself to test.

Many mail clients reject images, JavaScript and embedded CSS styles.  For best results use plain text near the top to communicate your message and give a link to the actual web page on your server.
For mail clients that do have limited support for HTML, use uncomplicated tables and inline CSS rules (inside the body tag).
