Visa read object difference parity setting for PC and TPC2012 device

Hello,
we found some difference between application running in PC and runing in TPC2012 device.
We tested modbus communication via RS485 (9600b/s, 8bits, parity even) between PLC(master) and TPC2012 (slave). We used Visa read object and set parity to Even via property node. From the PLC we sent request to device and in our application we only read the data from PLC and displayed it (8bytes) on sreen.
If we tested the application on PC everything worked fine. But if we compiled application and ran it in TPC2012 device the data was different (for example if I sent request from PLC to slave 05 03 00 01 00 01 crc crc on the TCP I saw 00 03 00 01 00 01 crc crc. The crc on TPC wasn't equal to crc on PLC.
We found that problem was in VISA read setiing for read data in TPC device. If we set parity to SPACE (instead of EVEN) then we read data correctly.
Modbus - Parity set for VISA read object:
Master PLC (even) - PC (even) -> visa read - data are equal
Master PLC (even) - TPC (even) -> visa read - data aren't equal
Master PLC (even) - TPC (space)-> visa read - data are equal
PC: Win XP SP2, LabView 8.5 with LabView TP module 8.5.
TPC2012: WinCE 5.0, NI visa 4.2, NI TPC Service 1.0.

I just found out that the VI for the currentmeasurement with the keithley 6517a has the same error but still works fine. Now I also tried to adjust the serial data bit and parity settings via the VISA configure serial port function but still no improvements.

Great news on finding your lost devices! That has got to be a major relief. The following Knowledge Base article offers the possible ways of restoring your data onto your devices after an erase has been performed:
iCloud: Erase your device
If you erase then find your iOS device, you can restore the information on the device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it) or iTunes. For more information, see iCloud storage and backup overview, or the Safety, Handling & Support section of the iOS 8 user guide for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If your device has iOS 7 or earlier, get the user guide from the Apple Support website.
If you erase then find your Mac, you can restore the information on the Mac using a Time Machine backup. For more information, see the Apple Support article Recover your entire system. If you set an EFI firmware password on your Mac before it was lost, then erase it and later find it, you may need to take your Mac to an authorized repair center to unlock it before you can use it again.

It has error number -50.

If it only happens with this project, it's probable some media files have become corrupted.
Those may be render files. Make sure background rendering is off. Select the project in the browser and from the file menu, choose Delete Project Render Files; choose All from the dialog. Without rendering,try exporting.
If that doesn't work, use an optimized version of your DSLR clips. (Right click on the clips in the browser and hit Transcode.)

Need Help for a ODBC Registry Setting for CR11 and CR2008 for Joins

I have used CR for a longtime. I currently have CR11 and CR12.
I want to access Clarion files that are the TPS Access Method.
There's a PDF called Cr9_Left_outer_join.pdf that's located at: http://www.radventure.nl/Portals/0/cr9_left_outer_join.pdf
This shows how to do the registry setting for a number of DBMSs/Access Methods such as TopSpeed. See PDF page 3
The registry settings that the paper describes are NOT in CR 12.
Can anybody help me find the right registry KEY and what the correct setting is supposed to be?

Hi Mike,
Not sure where you put or created that registry key but this is what it should look like:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\Database\ODBC
Then create a String Value called - "ODBC Behavior" and the value is 2, or 3 if and when you can use ODBC level 3.
Close Crystal before changing any of our key values, CR will write the previous version back to the registry when closing.
Also, be aware that what ever ODBC Level 2 ( ANSII 89 ) limitations are is what that driver and CR will be limited to. Example is Left Outer Joins are limited to only one in the SQL Statement and no way around this. You should be asking them to update to ODBC 3 ( ANSII 92 standards )
Crystal dynamically reads in the ODBC client functionality and therefore no over rides in CR will make the client work, if the ODBC driver is not capable then CR is also not capable.
Your other options is to go to Microsofts site and download their OLE DB developers package and create your own OLE DB driver, or find a developer willing to do this for you. Microsoft fully supports OLE DB and I believe they are trying to discourage ODBC usage.
Another option is to use a front end app to export the data into temporary MS Access tables and then create your reports off of those MDB file. MS Access at least supports ODBC 3 so you will be able to use full join syntax and functionality. Or even better is to move to MS SQL Server which is us to date and fully support all connection methods.

Smoothing out Differences in Set top players and media

What do experienced dvd authorers do about the differences in the wealth of media brands and formats, and the differences in set top players, to try to ensure there productions are usable in most cases?
I'm not attempting to start a brand war but I suppose this may not be answerable in any other way than person preference. I'd like to here from well experienced people there thought on this.
I've heard DVD-R is more likely to work good in most cases than DVD+R.
Also I've seen Fuji mentioned as a stable reliable media brand.
My experience is way too limited to draw many conclusions from but today I've burned some 6 tests on available media and played them on my limited collection of settop players.
I only have memorex DVD+R and Sony DVD-R to test with currently but I seem to be seeing much better results on my settop players.

3 discs burned on the Sony media fail badly on all three players (although in different ways)
3 discs burned on memorex all work as expected.
The data burned was only similar not exactly the same. Its a wedding video I'm still making small edits on.

Memorex Media is notoriously dreadful.
All they do is take the cheapest they can find & slap their brand on it, and from a cake of 50 discs you will get a fail rate of around 30% or more.
Additionally, if you run DVD Identifier, you'll find (usually) several different brands in the same cake. 3 or 4 is not uncommon.
Dump them in the nearest skip - it's all they are fit for.
Use high quality blanks, like Verbatim Data Life Plus or Taiyo Yuden.
Use DVD-R as opposed to +R as more players will read these.
No players are actually

to play back written media, but most do.
Keep firmware up to date on your player.
Keep the maximum video data rate to 7Mb/sec or less on written discs, as older players - and some current ones - choke on the bitrate as written media just isn't as reflective as replicated (or pressed) discs.
Finally, keep burn speeds as low as possible.
That's about as far as I can go for now.

Expdp with network_link and different character sets for source and target?

Is there any limitation for implementing expdp with network_link but target and source have different character sets?
I tried with many combinations, but only had success when target and source have the same character sets. In other combinations there was invalid character set conversion (loose of some characters in VARCHAR2 and CLOB fields).
I didn't find anything on the internet, forums or Oracle documentation. There was only limitation for transportable tablespace mode export (Database Utilities).

There is only one thing about different character sets.
I quote:
Data Pump supports character set conversion for both direct path and external tables. Most of the restrictions that exist for character set conversions in the original Import utility do not apply to Data Pump. The one case in which character set conversions are not supported under the Data Pump is when using transportable tablespaces.
Parameter VERSION also doesn't play role here, because the behaviour (character set) is the same if I use for target and source only 10.2 or (10.2 and 10.1) respectivly.

"problem reading configuration" Bug in Admin for Graphite and Snow

Background: Bought a used "graphite" (M5757 SN PW9495EYH93) for a friend with only dial-up access. Downloaded Airport Admin for Graphite and Snow. System seemed to be operating fine - I could see it on WiFi and even connect. Of course I was missing some passwords, so I needed to get it back to default settings by doing a hard reset-"perform a local reload". Support article HT2439 provided instructions: I plugged in a wired connection.
But "Auto" address selection didn't seem to work - I kept getting "problem reading configuration" messages.
So I tried "Manual" for entering IP address and password.
OOPS! When selecting "manual" for setting the IP address, the IP address triplets entered were reversed when saved in the device. Or at least they display reversed in AirPort Admin, while other nearby AirPort addresses display correctly.
For instance, when I set the device to the Apple default address of 192.42.249.13, the address displayed in AirPort Admin was 13.249.42.192. This was reliably repeatable, and worked around by entering the desired triplets in reverse order. Once I inverted the triplets and got the IP address I expected into the AirPort, configuration proceeded smoothly.
This bug can lead to frustration finding and reconfiguring AirPort devices, communicating over ethernet (since of course the network address and subnet masks work perfectly, but not as expected) and displaying/changing configurations. I didn't spend more time investigating the boundaries of the problem after finding the work-around and getting this particular AirPort working, but the problem might be the cause of some of the other configuration issues that seem to crop up regularly.

The "Airport Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow" seems to be at version 4.2.5 for OS X and was released in April 2008, yet only supports the "dual ethernet" versions.
Not to worry, the "Dual Ethernet" and "Snow" actually refer to the same model. The 802.11b Snow is the predecessor to the 802.11b/g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) and followed the "Graphite."

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Difference between release for Transport and Export

can anybody tell me the difference between the release for Transport of a change list and the Export Design Object ? When a change list is released is it not possible to select File System as mode or CMS ?

These relate to how your transport system is configured.
If you use FTP you cannot release for transport, and if you have CMS, I don;t beleive you can FTP.

When setting the midi port for an external device, how do I stop this altering the port setting for a separate external device?

I am using Logic Pro 9.1.7.
I have an EMU sampler set to port D.
And a Roland JV 2080 set to port B.
The ports refer to an external M-Audio Midisport midi interface.
When creating a new track (brand new, not as a duplicate of another) for sounds from the Roland and setting port B in the Inspector, I find this affects certain existing tracks set to port D that are using sounds from the EMU. The latter tracks are converted to port B. I note that only some, not all, tracks are affected.
If I try to change the EMU tracks back to port D, then the Roland track also switches to port D! And so on...
Each device has a 16-channel "instrument" in the Environment (but no virtual wiring anywhere).
Usually, setting channels, banks and programs in the Event List for each track has been able to make things work reasonably well.
Any suggestions that I could explore would be welcome. Thanks.

I haven't checked this with instrument tracks, could it possibly be you have somehow de-selected Universal Track Mode in Preferences/Audio? It should be enabled.

Difference between mastered for iTunes and previous versions?

Is there a noticeable difference between Mastered for iTunes albums and any previous versions? I purchased Bon Jovi's "Have A Nice Day (Special Edition)", and now it has been replaced with a Mastered for iTunes version. Is there any value or noticeable difference if I were to purchase the new version?

One of the inexpensive compilation downloads I purchased on iTunes was terrible, I'd much rather listen to the original mix of " I had too much to dream last night" than the remaster, which destroyed the song completely.
Well, there is really no way to improve on the sound of The Electric Prunes coming over an AM transistor radio!
I guess I'm suspicious of iTunes files in general. I am a dying breed, using separate amps and pre-amps and real speakers as well as Ultimate Ear earbuds and a great car system. The cuts that are engineered for iTunes are mixed for lo-fidelity appliances and just don't sound that good.
