Vision M screen crus

Hello guys,
Somehow i managaed to crusch my vision M screen, there are cracks all voer etc. Now i've found the way to replace my screen but can't seem to find a fitting screen anywhere. On the Creative site i also couldn't find anything bout the screen and the buyabillity of a loose screen.
I hope someone can help me out with this...

If one want to get dimension or compare different models all from creative can use creative official website where they provide such features. Creative website is not all just discussion but also got specification etc etc... Explore around and you will get what I mean.
I use the website to compare between Zen, Zen Micro, Zen Neeon before deciding. The price are just a guide cuz based on their published prices we can compare with the stores and know roughly how much cheaper we can squeeze with the seller.
For a hands on feel I guess for ppl living outside spore it is too bad you need go to the store cuz sometimes viewing the product on net and viewing it in real life can be different. For me I hands on based on frens who have already owned it.
IMHO, creative should open up more branches just like the finland nokia that open up so many branches where we can go and touch and feel their new products :smileytongue:

  • Zen Vision M Screen Problem

As of a few days ago, my Zen Vision M has had these horiztonal white lines on the screen, and they run through everything (movies, music, wallpaper, etc.). They obviously aren't part of my wallpaper, and changing the wallpaper or reformatting the ZVM doesn't work. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this, and assuming I would have to send it in, would my extended warranty cover the problem?

Try updating the firmware, but if that doesn't help I'd recommend getting in touch with Customer Support.

  • Sunscreen damage to Vision M Screen - can it be repaired?

My son's Vision M was accidentally in the line of spray from one of these new aerosol suncreens. Although he had a silicone case on the unit the actual LCD screen was exposed because he had removed the peel'n'stick protector from the screen when it started to peel up. The result is that the LCD screen now has tiny "dots" and faint drag marks where he wiped the screen. Question >> can these be removed or has the sunscreen done permanent damage to the screen? Visually the screen is fine for playback but there are obvious marks on the screen otherwise. If this can be removed or repaired - please let me know how to do this. I've seen that The Source for Circuit City (CDN version of Circuit City) has a mp3 screen repair kit and wondered it this might work?
Thanks for whatever assistance you can provide us with....

As you can see in the picture the screen colors cut down the middle and the left become reddish. This started happening recently, and I think it may have to do with it being cold outside which is where I mostly use it.
Has anyone else run into this?Message Edited by gk28 on 02-6-2007:04 AM

    Hi !
I just saw the picture and indeed it's VERY WEIRD ! I guess that's a hardware problem. You can still try to format your Vision: M and install the latest firmware on it. If it doesn't work, try to exchange your Vision: M to your electronic store or send it to Creative, I think that they can replace it.

  • Zen Vision: M Screen replacem

    Just a FYI.
If your screen cracks due to ANYTHING whatsoever, it's $22 down the tubes.
Plus the cost of you shipping the player to them.
This happened to me, it can happen to you.
Thank you, who/whatever broke my screen (my guess is that I sat down, and the player in my left front pocket bumped into the armrest). That's the last time I put a pocket sized appliance in my pocket without special protection.
This would have been avoided if there was a hard plastic case for the thing.

I recommend using OEM battery made by Creative. • Zen Vision M screen keeps freezi

It has been only a few months since I bought this MP3 player. I do not know whether it's a problem only for mine or it happens to many MP3 players. I used to have Ipod Mini and never had a problem like this. When the screen freezes, I have to press the little reset button and I have realized that I see shadows of some words. I don't think it's common. Just now my screen is freezed again and I had to use a paperclip to reset it. It happens once in awhile, I can understand that. It has happened to me at least 5 times. This past week happened twice already. Can it be defective? Or it's just the way many Vision M is? My warranty is still valid since it's been only a few months. Should I return it to Creative?

freezing prob could be due to firmware issueis your firmware the latest?

  • Zen Vision LCD screen

I bought a Zen Vision some time ago (not M or W, but the standard one), and unfortunately the LCD screen not being reinforced with any additional layers of glass, it cracked pretty quickly. After pretty much 2 weeks of use. Creative support insisted that it was my fault, and I did not get a refund nor a new player.
My question is: is there any way or chance that I can obtain (buy?) a new LCD screen for this particular Zen Vision, from Creative or other sources? Thanks in advance.

Search Ebay for "Zen Vision" . I came accross this one cheap.

  • Any way of turning the Zen Vision:M screen backlight off

I've just bought a Zen Vision:m, which is fantastic apart from one thing. The backlight for the main screen doesn't turn off after a few seconds, only the lights behind the buttons do. You can reduce the brightness of the screen, but that's about all.
I just wondered if there's a way to get it to turn off after a few seconds, or if there's an option that I've missed somewhere?

Once the player is playing slide the power switch to lock position and the display turns off.

  • Creative Vision M screen prob

Help! The screen on it has gone white! The rest is fine, but the screen is only slightly visible as of the screen almost going fully white!
Has anyone else had this problem/know how to deal with it's
Nothing else is wrong with it it works perfectly but the screen has randomly gone almost fully white!
    Thanks in advance
    x

these lines have been here for awhile and i should have done something about it sooner. it would be fine except for the fact that i cant watch videos and every so often that would be nice to be able to do. i think the lines are there because too much weight was put on it, but i dont know. whats really bothering me now, though, is the fact that it's starting to freeze up and after reading other bulletins it seems common from what i understand.

  • Creative Zen Vision M screen looks abstract paint

Help. I am not sure what has happened but whatever happened isn't good. I took my Zen with me 4 wheeling and plugged it into my ATV to recharge. When we got back from hiking I climbed on and started my ATV and drove home. My Zen was working just fine but when I got home and looked at the screen it looked like somebody did an abstract on it in black and white. Needless to say nothing has worked to change the screen and now I cannot use it. Does anyone have any idea what I have done? Thanks

Too late. I contacted customer support today and made arrangements to return it under warranty for service. I was honest about it so we will see what they say after checking it. I was also told that I shouldn't even be using it on an ATV as it has moving parts in it and it shouldn't be jumbled around that way. I was also told I shouldn't use it when jogging for the same reason. I didn't realize these MP3 hard dri've players were so sensiti've. My ipod never had any problems and I used it on my ATV for 5 years.

  • Creative Zen Vision:M - Screen cracked - unviewab

Hello, my players screen has cracked, the rest of the player is perfectly fine and I can still listen to music, just the screen is completely broken, I want to know if you can send it in for repairs, and roughly how much it will cost?
*note to self, be more careful with small LCD screens.
    Thanks

    You're SOL dude...
I've had a cracked screen for a month now and have tried everything...
    -tried to return it-too late
-tried to buy a replacement screen-can't find them anywhere and they're made in singapore
-tried to use an ipod video screen-doesn't fit
-So you gotta send it back to creative-cost: ~$20.00 and no player for a few weeks
Good luck, you're taking it better than I did

  • Zen Vision:M screen brok

Okay. Recently--I don't know how it happened--the LCD in my ZVM got absolutely busted. It's badly cracked, and basically beyond hope. (The audio still works fine, small comfort that that is.) So, my question is basically--is there any way I could get the screen repaired or replaced? (My warranty's long expired, so I know I'd have to pay for it...) Or would it just be easier and less of a hassle (and not much more expensi've) to just get a new one?

I'm sure you could send it to Creative to have it fixed, but you would have to pay for it, but it would be a lot less than buying a new one.

  • Vision: M Screen Probl

I read other posts about screen problems, but mine isn't exactly the same problem. I've had my mp3 player since Christmas, and the screen went wrong about a month ago but I couldn't fix it because I've been so busy with finals and everything. Here's what my problem is: I was using my mp3 player while I was studying, and I was using it all day so it needed charging. I went to my computer and as soon as I plugged in the mp3 player it had horizontal and vertical (but not as many vertical)?white lines all over it. The USB cable was already plugged in when I connected the mp3 player. Any advice?EDIT: I tried resetting, formatting, updating firmware, and rebooting. Nothing worked.Message Edited by Karyssa on 05-27-200704:2 PM

if there are just vertical and horizontal lines, don't worry too much. Creative unfortunatly got a bad batch of LCD screens awhile ago (from what i've heard they have also since switched manufacturers, but this may be false) and they seem to malfunction causing this problem. simply contact creative (using the support button at the top of your screen) and request and RMA number. you c an send it in for repair free of charge if you are still under warranty
However, if there are any black splotches on your screen as well, then your screen is cracked. request and RMA and send it in as well, but it is highly likely they will deem it physical damage and will charge you for the repair, but even then my personal screen repair was only $60, much cheaper than having to buy a new player
    hope this helps you out.
