Visual C++ 6.0 Developer's Studio

I am taking an on-line class and part of the class is creating C++ programs. The text book and I would assume the class assumes that the user has Windows and can download a version of Visual C++ is there a version for Mac? I have been searching the Internet and I have not come up with anything. Every time I do a search it comes back with Microsoft Office. I read the description and it says nothing about C++. I currently have Office 2007 for Mac but I have not found anything about C++. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have several issues here. You cannot download Visual C++ 6.0 at all. It is an old product and was never free to download. You can download Visual Studio Express 2005 for C++ for free. However, it is radically different than Visual C++. Did I mention it was radically different? If the class assumes you have VC6 then, chances are, the latest free Visual Studio will not work.
None of the aforementioned products will run, unassisted, on a Mac. They are Windows only. They will run fine is you buy Windows XP and install Parallels, VMWare, or BootCamp. Don't ask me which one is best, read any one of the 17812 threads on the topic.
It is possible that the class only uses basic, cross-platform C++ (no MFC and no Windows stuff). If that is the case, you can install Xcode and use that C++ compiler. Still, your compiler would be radically different than VC6.

    Hi Raghu,
We can view the services by creating a logical destination in the NWDS.
For this purpose we need to do the following steps :-
Window > Preferences > Destination Configuration > R/3 Configuration     -  For ECC destinations
Window > Preferences > Destination Configuration > Web Service Configuration - For Web service.
Please try it and let me know if successfull.

  • Visual tool for trigger development

I am looking for a visual tool for trigger (or PL/SQL) development that includes metadata. It should be a kind of ETL tool but specific for triggers. That would help a lot when documenting triggers, checking for dependencies, data lineage, etc.
Anyone know any tool from Oracle or out there?

How about Oracle's very own SQLDeveloper?

Other option would be TOAD by quest

  • UIX Visual editor for OAF development??

    Hi All
Please let me know if anyone has used UIX Visual editor for developing OAF pages using JDeveloper 10.1.3.
Where can we find UIX editor.
Is this a seperate tool that needs to be installed or its integrated with JDeveloper.

There is not visual editor for OAF pages.
You will have to wait for the next version of ORACLE APPLICATIONS, I mean the Fusion version that has not been released yet.
The pages for the Fusion version will be customized with a new "version" of jdeveloper (with a extension to interact with apps.) with a visual editor.

  • How to building a multi-channels analog output task in visual c++ 6.0 (without Measurement Studio)?

    Hello!
I have a PCI 6251 card, and using DAQmx C function to generate a wavwform. (single channel ).
But, how to creating a multi-channels analog output task, and had a different frequence in each channels?
    Thanks.

This is getting to be a common question!
    The answer is, you can't.
If the rates have common factors, you can use a higher overall rate. The slower waveform will simply have extra points in it to make up for the higher update rate.

  • XMAM Development - Netweaver Studio on Vista

    Hi all
I'm trying make some mods to the xMAM, but I get the following error when I create the WAR file:
The MI Client is not configured correctly.  The settings of the Sync Gateway are missing.
The MI Web Console can not be started.  Please provide the Sync Gateways Settings for the MI Client and export the project again.
This works fine on my XP PC but fails on the Vista machine, everything is identical:
    - MAM client
    - JAVA version
    - Sync user
    - MobileEngine.config file
    - NWDS 7.0 SP15
    Any ideas?
    Ta...
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,
but - when you build the WAR file - you are asked for the path and filename. Usually it points to the WEBAPPS folder of your Sap MI client installaiton on the device. It it possible that the error message takes place when MDK tries to connect to the WebConsole to deploy the WAR file automatically. But: the WAR file should be already in the MI WEBAPPS folder on your machine - or wherever you stored it. If that is the case, you can deploy it manually.
On the other hand - it is not necessary to deploy it if you only want to test it on the device. Just rename the existing xMAM folder to - lets say - xMAM_original and start MI client. Then the WAR file will be extracted and now when you log on you will use your enhanced xMAM app.
For testing that is fine - at least better then always deploy the file from the web again and again.
Well, lets hope this brings us a step forward.
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • Java developer visual toolkit in standalone

    Hi:
I am looking for a visual toolkit for development under java, no web needed, just the ability to create screens, database access and graphs with java, in standalone.
Do you have the name of that kind of toolkit?
    Thanks in advance.
    Pilar Angeles

    Hi java_angeles,
Thanks for the interest shown for products at Sun Microsystems.
Sun Java Studio Creator provides the drag-and-drop, RAD approach to J2EE development .Java Studio Creator puts together a number of new technologies such as Java Server Faces (JSF) , JDBC Rowsets and Web Services APIs to give J2EE developers a relaxed feeling when building web applications. The current version of the IDE includes features for Rapid application development with EJB consumption. An easy deployment and testing facility.
Please do have a walk through on the following link to get some vital information about the product.

  • Visual design view in Studio Enterprise 8

I have recently discovered both Studio Enterprise 8 and Studio Creator, previous to which I was only using netbeans. However, I've been looking for a way to create either JSP applications or standar java applications with an IDE that has a visual design view in it.
Studio Creator has a visual design view only for JSP pages, but it does not seem to have the robustness of Studio Enterprise 8. Studio Enterprise 8 has a Palette tool, but for the life of me I cannot find the visual design view in it. Is there a way to activate a visual design view in Studio Enterprise 8? or, do I need to download an add-on?, or do I really need to create projects in Studio creator to later transfer only the JSP pages to Studio Enterprise?
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Besides the visual designer for JSP (Creator) , Swing GUI and UML (JSE8), what other types of visual designers are you expecting or wish for in JSE 8?

  • SAP Netweaver Developer Studio - Creating new par project

    Hi,
I am currently experiencing some trouble trying to create a par project within the Netweaver Developer's studio, in the dialog for a creation of a new project 'Portal Application' is not available for selection based on the instructions from the following link(http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/a3/918340d990ce62e10000000a155106/frameset.htm). Could someone please advise on whether any additional plugin's will have to be deployed and how.
    Thanks in advance.
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
are there any other perspectives available like for instance Webdynpro, Development configuration, Design Time Repositoty?
I ask it only because if you install NWDS, then first you get a framework only, and the plugins must be installed explicitly using the updatesite.
Could you please confirm that you have executed this step?
You can trigger the update from the NWDS menu: "Help"  --  "Software Updates"  --  "Find and Install..." (take the second
option, "Search for new features to install").
I've tested with "SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP08 PAT0000" and there the portal project option is available.
As a workaround you can make a try to install this -- or the latest -- version, you can get this software from here:

  • IAB Studio is a new J2EE based Rich Internet Application builder

Here I would like to introduce a new J2EE based solution for the development of Rich Internet Allications.
We are pleased to announce a new release of IAB Studio 3.1. This innovative development solution for Rich Internet Application Development is now available for free download from our web site www.worcsnet.com > Products > Downloads.
Please check out a demo application at www.iabstudio.com to see the power of IAB Studio for yourself. This application was created in just 5 days. Yet it delivers rich functionality and user friendly user interface.
****** no HTML, no page refreshes, no Applets, no ActiveX, no Plug-ins, no server side development******
IAB Studio is a breakthrough alternative to the leading mainstream of web development tools or frameworks, such as .NET, Struts, or Flash. It allows for getting rid of server side development, which normally cannot produce a decent functional GUI. In IAB Studio, a developer builds internet applications using client side controls (also known as widgets), which are extremely powerful and can handle data and functionality associated with them. IAB Studio widget collection includes treeview controls, tab controls, data management and reporting controls, data presentation control (grid), report controls, combo box, toolbars, menus, media controls and many more.
****** Create a functional Graphical User Interfaces in no time ******
IAB Studio is the first tool ever, which allows a web developer to forget about spending tremendous amounts of time developing any GUI and concentrate on the business logic, the same way as in Visual Basic or any other desktop RAD tool. In fact, it is equally easy to use. It comes with a powerful in-browser IDE, which contains Team Organizer, Project Organizer, Data Entry Automation Wizards, Instant Messenger, Visual Page Designer, Visual Workflow Designer, Data Management and Visual Report Designer.
****** Does not require learning new programming languages ******
To use IAB Studio, a developer does not have to learn any new language. Basic knowledge of Java and JavaScript is enough to start developing complex applications right away.
    ****** It is FREE ******
IAB Studio is completely free for non-commercial use.
****** Most Powerful in-Brower Development Environment******
IAB Studio is compatible with the major operating systems (Windows/Unix) and a wide range of RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase or SAP DB. No other tools except a Web browser are required to use IAB Studio.
    ****** Data Entry Automation ******
IAB Studio allows one to automate tedious tasks as data entry. Instead of HTML forms and all the hassles related to handling them, IAB Studio provides data entry wizards, updateable grid controls and data manipulation, and reporting controls. These controls provide you with the ability easily and quickly build functional data entry pages with error validations, automatic SQL generation, and more. It requires zero coding as well. Wizards make the most of work for you; there are no XML descriptors involved. This saves a lot of development time.
    ****** Benefits ******
Applications developed in IAB Studio have superior performance, minimized network traffic, and an optimized data exchange mechanism between client and server. Minimum or ZERO coding is required in most cases to create Rich Internet Applications of any complexity with IAB Studio. Using IAB Studio, developers or even business analysts can create powerful Internet applications in days, with only a Web browser installed on the computer anywhere in the world. The bottom line is - it is easy to develop rich functionality in IAB Studio, and it takes up to 80% less efforts compared to the leading web development tools and frameworks.
****** IAB Studio Client Side Widgets ******
IAB Studio offers a rich set of client side widgets that truly redefine the capabilities of a regular Web application. IAB Studio widgets are JavaScript graphical user interface objects backed by the Java MVC framework on the server side. IAB Studio does not use any Applets or ActiveX controls. WorcsNet technology offers the thinnest client possible, outstanding performance and rich functionality. Internet Applications created with IAB Studio perform better than applications created with the leading development technologies. IAB Studio supports both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
    ****** Remote Development ******
IAB applications do not require deployment. A typical IAB application runs as part of the IAB Studio framework; this allows modification of the application on the fly. A team of developers can work on the same project remotely, simultaneously and in real time. The browser based Page Editors allow for development of IAB pages on the client machine and save the work in the server repository. It greatly simplifies the development and deployment processes.
    ****** Robust Security ******
IAB Studios robust security allows the administrator to manage and authorize access to any areas of the application depending on the role of a user.

Struts is a server side framework, which has poor means for creating web pages that can provide rich user interface.
The main reason is that in order to refresh page data, it needs to refresh the whole page. It means that if for example you have two tab pages and you want to switch from one to another, you will refresh the current page, and everything you entered on this page will be lost. So in order to retrieve it when you go back to the first page, you will have to send it to the server in the first place, store itsomewhere and prepare a page when you go back to it. Another problem is that while you are on the second page, you cannot really access data from the first page - because it's not there.
IAB Studio, on the other hand, is very different. It allows to create pages, which consists of client side controls and not HTML. Client side controls can handle data, assosiated with them. For example, in the abovementioned example, when you click on the second tab page, it will not go to the server. Instead, it will cache this page in memory and handle it accordingly. It also allows to get data from the first page, even if you are on the second page. And so on.
IAB Studio has over 40 such controls, including reporting control (this one has a functional report designer), grids, treeview, tab controls, various lists,
message boxes, schedulers, workflows and more.
Another important difference is that Struts is just a framework, and you have to handle a lot of XML descriptors, whereas IAB Studio is a full-blown IDE, which requires only browser to run.

  • How to access remotely to a PXI card with Visual C++ through an Ethernet TCP/IP link?

I read that it was impossible to use RDA with C++, however, we must use Visual C++, and we must use TCP/IP to access to the PXI (MXI3 solution is not convenient due to its optic fiber). How can we do, which tools should be used and how to use them ?
    Thank you very much.

RDA is supported in LabWindows/CVI, so you could try to create a new Visual C++ project with the Measurement Studio AppWizard, specifying that you want to create a LabWindows/CVI application, then specify that you want to create a Visual C++ project that incorporates LabWindows/CVI run-time libraries, then leverage CVI's RDA support in your C++ project. • Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0

I know that even mentioning the word 'Microsoft' in some forums gets you kicked out, but I though I'd take the chance. I have the Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0 development environment which seems to work fairly well for me, apart from not being able to open windows in it. I was just wondering, is it worth downloading the Sun JDK when I already have J++? Comments would be appreciated - SpinyNorman

I would concur with the suggestions that have been made to consider ditching Microsoft Visual J++, for the reasons mentioned. I haven't used it, personally, but most microsoft "visual" languages have a facility to layout screens. For this, you may wish to try the free versions of Sun ONE Studio or Borland JBuilder, in addition to the standard Sun JDK (also a free download). This will get you the standard Java language, letting you tap into both the popularity and portability of Java. These benefits are important to me personally.
OTOH, if these aren't important to you, and you would like to pay for the privilege of using Microsoft languages to develop applications that will only run on Microsoft servers and clients, you may wish to consider Visual Basic. This is a very popular and well-supported language. As someone already suggested, some people seem to be starting to use C#, and it works too, and is likely to be well supported by Microsoft for some time to come.
I personally doubt that Visual J++ or FoxPro have much of a future.
