VLOOKUP not reading lookup value correctly

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my VLOOKUP. For my lookup value, I'm using a cell containing a RANDBETWEEN so that whenever I refresh with F9, I would get a new number in the RANDBETWEEN cell, which will then make VLOOKUP show the cell corresponding to the newly
generated number.
This isn't exactly what I did, but this is an example of the basic gist of what I was trying to do.
On Worksheet A, I had Column A list numbers 1 through 12, while Column B had January through December.
On Worksheet B, I had Cell A1 contain RANDBETWEEN(1,12) and Cell B1 contain VLOOKUP(A1,'Worksheet A'!$A$1:$B$12,2)
So, when I pressed F9, I would be able to get RANDBETWEEN to generate a random number between 1 and 12, and the VLOOKUP would generate the corresponding name of the month.
However, when I tried this, the random numbers continued to be generated, but the VLOOKUP did not keep up with the new numbers being generated. What did I do wrong? I tried using my file on Onedrive's version of Excel as well as OpenOffice Calc, and none
of them are working.
As noted in my username, I am still in the beginning stages of learning Excel. So, if I'm doing something stupid, please be easy on me...

ME23n , Does not shows the values correctly in print preview

Hi,
When viewing a PO using ME23n , it does not shows the values correctly in the print preview.
For example;
This is the vendor & its address. (check attached image img1.jpg)
ZERANDIB BUSINESS APPLIANCES
Number-122/A
PO BOX 41,112,REID AVENUE
COLOMBO-04
When displaying the print preview, it shows only some parts of the above address

These values are getting from a table called LFA1. I have checked that table & in that table all the values exists correctly.
I have noted issue is with, having only a single word. (If address or name having only a single word, that is without spaces, it will not going to show in the print preview) -
In the above example, it is not showing Number-122/A and COLOMBO-04 (Its a single word. No spaces there)
If its like --> Number - 122/A & COLOMBO - 04 , then it will display in the print preview correctly (where there are spaces after - mark)

If its having more than one word, then it will display correctly in the print preview. As below;

Number - 122/A
PO BOX 41,112,REID AVENUE
COLOMBO - 04
If its 2 or more words, it shows correctly.
If its 1 word, then its not showing!
Why it is happening like that? Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

It turns out that this problem went away after the program crashed. Everything seems to be working well now.

Apple DVD Player software not reading SPRM 4 correctly.

I am a DVD author and have recently run into an issue with Apple DVD Player not reading SPRM 4 (current title) correctly. I know this isn't the Apple DVD Player forum, but there doesn't seem to be one for that application, so here I am...
I have a disc (not authored in a Mac environment) that uses the value of SPRM 4 to track the last title played, and if it happens to equal the value of the main feature title, then use the "PLAY" button on the main menu as a resume.
Apple DVD Player seems to think that SPRM 4 equals this particular value all the time, regardless of what title last played, which is totally breaking my disc. The real kicker is that the disc works flawlessly on set-tops and in a windows environment.. just not on any Mac that I have tried.
Has anyone out there also experienced a problem with tracking SPRM 4 in Apple DVD Player? Is anyone from Apple reading these things, possibly someone who can flag this as a major issue?
I am positive that this specific to Apple DVD Player, because the disc works as intended EVERYWHERE else.
I have tried and experienced this issue across several Macs, and across several versions of DVD Player. It's consistent across all.
If anyone has any ideas, please respond.

ITunes not reading ID3 tags correctly

I have an album of mp3s, all correctly ID3 tagged (WinAMP and Windows Media Player read them fine), and when I try to add it into my iTunes library, it only add it as the filename. It does not read the artist, album, or track name from the tag.
It is strange that it is able to read some of the id3 tags but not all.

Something else on your system is probably changing the tag outside of itunes. For instance, WMP is set to get album info from the internet.
iTunes isn't constantly scanning your library for any little tag change (a good thing, otherwise it would use 100% CPU all the time). When you go to play it or get Info, it DOES read the tag info.
Then again, I might not understand your itunes preferences settings. I have mine set for itunes not to organize my files and not add them to the itunes library.

Aperture Vault Does Not Read Drive Space Correctly

Aperture 3 Vault does not read the disk space correctly on my newly formatted LaCie 500GB drive, and produces an error message that says there is not enough space to update the vault.
Finder and Disk Utility both indicate that the drive is completely empty. Any help in resolving this problem will be appreciated.

Just some thoughts
1. Check ownership on the drive, everyone can read and write. (& it is MacOS formatted)
2. Check the permissions in your library, it is possible that there is a file with a permissions conflict (only attributable to the fact that computers are programmed by human)

Pivot table not displaying the values correctly

Hi,
I have created a pivot table in which i am using 2 tables. I pulled columns from table A and one column from table B in the measures section to get the grand total. All the rows are comming fine but, its not returning any values for tableB's column(if i pull it into measures).
If the column stays under rows section, the report is comming out fine.
I need the total to be displayed in the report.
Can some body help me with this.

i have set the column's aggregation to sum, and it is comming out correctly in the grand total, how ever, i have some of the coulmns which i am taking the %
col3= (col2/col1)*100
col1- aggregation set as Sum, col2 and col3 is set as default
The values for col3 are comming finr in report , where as it is not returning correct value for garnd total row.
ex: row w--- col1 col2 col3
row1-----6630 1130 17.04
row2 6114 994 16.26
total 23317 3739 56.40(should be 16.2..)
For col3 it is calculating like this(3739-total of col2/ 6630 -first row of col1 *100)
Instead of taking total , it is taking the first row.
I tried different aggregations, but was still unable to get the correct value. Can you please let me know if i am missing anything.
Can we define custom aggregations.

Safari not reading Arabic website correctly

Dear Experts,
Is there a way to add fonts to Safari? Cause when i open some arabic websites i am not able to see the website font displayed correctly. I am using ITouch with the latest update. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Unfortunately, character encoding errors are a significant problem in both Safari and Mail. Apple needs to add a function for users to be able to specify the encoding for a web page or mail message. When Safari or Mail guesses wrong, there is no way for the user to manually select the correct character encoding.

Text_io using webutil not reading all characters correctly

Hello all,
is anyone familiar with this problem: using client_text_io to read a word-generated html-page. With Forms 4.5 using text_io this worked fine, with webutil certain chars are not transferred correctly (getting upside down question marks in the text). Is the charset that is supported by client_text_io smaller than the charset supported by text_io?
Note: forms on web are started with the same NLS_LANG setting as the old 4.5 C/S forms.

Webutil does not currently do any characterset translation for you. So if your Forms Server is running in a character set which is not the same or not a superset of the one on your client you can have this issue

LOV not returnig lookup values of 2. level (11.1.1.6)

there are 4 entity objects: A is a child of B while B is a child of C and D, so A contains ID of B, while B contains IDs of C and D.
I have created a view object based on A (as updateable EO) and B, C and D as referencing EOs.
I have created a LOV on EO A attribute which need to return data from C and D attributes.
The problem is that lookup data from EOs C and D are not returned after being chosen.
Is it a bug in 11.1.1.6 only? Because I tried to replicate usecase using 11.1.2, but it works fine.

IPod Touch not reading TV Show correctly

I have the first 4 seasons of The Office and the first 6 of Family Guy, but i did not purchase them off of iTunes. I got them in fiine, but when put on my iPod Touch 2G 8GB, it does not tell me the season when i hit video. It says the show name, and then in parentheses the amount of episodes. I was wondering if there's a way to make it shpw up to say which season it is b/c when i open it up, underneath the episode name, it then says season _, episode_.

What is shown depends on what values are put in the Show, *Season Number* and *Episode Number* boxes in the "Get Info" dialog's Video tab. *Episode ID* may(?) affect sorting and is usually on the lines of "s01e02" to indicate Series 1, Episode 2. When you purchase a file some of these fields may not be filled in. Giving different seasons of a show different Show field entries would let iTunes treat the seasons as separate shows if that was what you actually wanted.

Logic Not Reading Kontakt 3 correctly

Open the Midi event editor and check the recorded controller events. Probably the EV-5 is transmitting wrong data to the physical Input of Logic.

Layout not retrieving the values correctly

Hi,
As per the requirement I need to get the AOP values from the cube for a particular fiscal year to be populated into one of the columns of the Layout,but the planning layout which I had designed retrives the AOP values only for the first period.I should be getting the total AOP for the Fiscal year in my layout.
Say I have the cube values as
Product   Fiscal year/Period   Value
P-01         2006001                  100
P-01         2006008                   500
P-02         2006001                   200
P-03         2006005                    300
My layout retrieves the values as follows
P-01         2006001                  100
P-02         2006001                   200
but I need the Layout values as
P-01                     600
P-02                     200
P-03                     300.
Could anyone tell me what modifications I need to do in my layout inorder to achieve the above functionality.
Points will be assigned.

I have not restricted to 2006001,but in the layout I have posting period as an variable which contains 1 to 13 periods as the variable definition.I need this becoz I need to generate period1 to period 13 columns dynamically in the same layout.
As you said If I remove the Posting period then how will I be able to genearte the columns dynamically.

Does Mozilla's Plugin Checker not read Safari plugins correctly? My Plugins are all up to date and it still says "update."

I'm wondering if it is how Safari does not list the entire version in it's plugin page, such as 11.6.0 instead of 11.6.0.r.626.
Also I have Looked in the plugins file for Safari and turned on the extension to show invisible extensions and it shows this:
DirectorShockwave.plugin 11.6.0r626
Flash Player.plugin 10.3 r181.34
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled just to see if that was the problem.

When you run the plugin check, you should get a column with the full version number (here's Flash, for example, in the attached screen shot).
As for finding Safari plugins, I don't know how it works on MacOS; on Windows, Firefox will scan certain locations outside of its folders to pick up plugins that are not Firefox-specific. The plugin checker then will use the information that Firefox has gathered.

Safari not reading CSS scripts correctly?

I have in my .css file a command as thus:

font-family: "Monotype Corsiva";
This under all circumstances works, Monotype Corsiva is in OS X, and Windows OS's... but for some reason Safari won't view the font... why?
This has to be a Safari bug, for I can get some other cursive fonts working...if it isn't how do I get the fonts working in Safari?
