Voip between cisco and avaya

We have to implement Voice over IP on our IPLC circuit between foreign office and India office.
Topology is such that our foreign office is having 1700 series router with wan card
(Wic-1T) and one two port FXO card connected to PBX for PSTN and local connectivity.
India end we have a cisco 1700 router with wan card (Wic-1T) and on lan we have Avaya S8300 media server with multiple phones connected to it. Avaya server is acting as a voice gateway at India end. Avaya server is connected to LAN on Ethernet.
We have configured IPSEC site-to-site VPN between both the locations.
Requirement:-
Over the VPN tunnel we want to enable voice communication between both the locations.
i.e between cisco at foreign end and avaya server at India end.
1) India office users via IPLC should communicate over voice and data with the foreign office (Avaya extensions to FXO in Foreign office).
2) Foreign office should communicate with the india office users connected to IPLC link (FXO to Avaya server extensions)
Any suggestions/config will be appreciated
Attaching the india end router config.
Thanks

Hi
Before getting onto the requirements, from now on i would suggest you to mask the ip (public) address part included in the configs while posting in any general forum.
These are the links which you can use up here for the ref..
You need to check out for the possible codes and other compatible points which you need to configure on both the sidees..

i m not sure though about the configuration of Avaya box but you can mention the remote end routers ethernet ip as the destination ip or the target for the call termination.
And in the remote router while configuring the dial-peer pots and dial-peer voip binded on the FXO itnerface make sure that you are mentioning the Avaya box ip as the session target.

The Cisco Router is running IOS 15.2, the Juniper Site JunOS 10.4
Any Ideas how I can get this to work?
    Thanks in advance!

    Marcin,
I updated the debugging log, the previous one was created using override-capability-neg on the neighbor (experimental).

  • Trunk between cisco and huawei

One of my edge Huawei S5700-28C-EI stack switches  is dead, I am going to replace it with a Cisco switch Catalyst 3750 series PoE-48 via a trunk link  with GE fiber port on both ends, please see the diagram below.
                                      trunk                     trunk
       Core switchrouter<----------S5700<--------------->Cisco Catlyst 3750
I haven’t touch Cisco switch for many years, I would like to ask the following questions:
1.)      Do I need to take any precaution before connecting this Cisco switch into my Huawei network? Only one link between S5700 and C3750, so I don't need worry anout STP? Do I need to worry about Default vlan regarding trunking port?
2.)      I need to use different trucking protocol e.g. 802.1Q etc to interconnect these two switches (S5700 and Catalyst 3750), please see the following configuration:
    For C3750:
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan (What you want)
switchport trunk allowed vlan (VLANs required)
    switchport mode trunk
    spanning-tree portfast trunk
    For S5700:
    port link-type trunk
    port trunk permit vlan all
Do you think the configurations above are right?
Do I need to manually enter Duplex and speed options ?
3.)If the configurations are not right, then what are the commands for trucking port/link should I use on the Cisco switch (it uses IOS software) and Huawei switch?  Procedures of the commands would be really helpful !
Any information and help would be much appreciated.

I know the problem,When I change the native vlan of my  S5700-28C-EI ,it's just ok.

  • Multicast Cisco and Avaya

I hv Avaya P882 as core,Cisco cat4507 as distribution and cat3750 access. There are a video in Avaya P882 configure multicast. PC attach to Avaya can receive video stream but PC at Cisco cat4507 and cat3750 cannot receive video stream from avaya P882. my understanding avaya P882 only support DVMRP. Any advice how to configure on Cat4507 and Cat3750. did i need ip mroute?

you can configure IOS to use DVMRP for interoperability between systems.

  • Problem with old VoIP between modem and Time Capsule

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this..
For a job I used to have, I had a D-Link DVG-5102S VoIP adapter/router that I had to have between my Motorola DSL modem and my Time Capsule WiFi.
The service that the D-Link was used for has been shut off for a long time, but I don't seem to be able to get rid of it.  When I remove it, and try to re-configure things on the Time Capsule so that it has the DSL login info, my internet access stops working.
Currently, the D-Link has the DSL login info, and distributes 192.168.15.x addresses to the Time Capsule.
The Time Capsule has the following info:
    Base Station tab:
Base station name, password, Back to my Mac account/password
    Internet tab:
Connect using: DHCP, IP Address 192.168.15.160, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Router address 192.168.15.1, Primary DNS Server 192.168.15.1
    Wireless tab:
Create a Wireless network, Wireless network name <my WiFi network>, Wireless SEcurity WPA2 Personal, Wireless Password/Verify Password
    Network tab:
    Router Mode: Off (Bridge Mode)
    Everything else is greyed out
    Disks:
    My time capsule backup disk.
Does anyone have any ideas for how I should go about getting rid of that stupid VOIP thing?
    Thanks!

Your DSL modem has probably locked on to the D-Link box's MAC address.  Since the TIme Capsule has a different MAC address than the D-link, the DSL modem doesn't know what to do with it.
(MAC address btw has nothing to do with Mac computers - it is an alphanumeric address that is assigned to each and every networking device that's made - yes, including Mac computers.)
Usually turning the DSL modem off and back on should reset it, and the next device that it talks to (hopefully the Time Capsule) will become its new best friend (i.e. it will "remember" the Time Capsule's MAC address). Some DSL modems have a setup page (or setup software) that you must run, to give it a new MAC address. And sometimes only your DSL provider can do this for you (they reset something on their end or something like that).  If turning the DSL modem off then on again doesn't do the trick, and your modem either doesn't have a setup application (or you don't see a setting for MAC address), then you'll have to call your provider. Tell them that you switched the device that the modem is plugged into, and they should be able to help you out (theoretically anyway, your actual customer service drone experience may vary).

  • VoIP between Norstar and Nortel option 11

Hi, i have some problems in the calls between a Norstar and a Nortel option 11, both are connected to a 2811 via E1 with the IOS is c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-15.T3.bin both routers are using h323. We also have a Callmanager 5.1.2.3000-2 that interact with both PBX.
The problem is that when i make a call from the Norstar to the Nortell or CCM the call listens choppy and sometime the voice goes only one side.
Do you know of some debug that i can apply to see ISDN errors, h323 errors, or QoS errors.
    Thanks in advanced

  • Compatible between Cisco and Huawei

    Dear Expert
We have purchased 7 units Huawei access switches, S2700-26TP-EI-AC & 1310 SFP modules from www.huanetwork.com now we plan to add a aggregation switches, for this part, we want to use Cisco WS-C3750X-24S-S, my question is with Huawei GE optical port (with 1310 SFP module), can it connect to Cisco 3750X GE ports (with GLC-LH-SMD). If not we may need to go for Huawei S5700.
    Thanks very much.

  • Call/video not working between Cisco jabber for Windows and VCS control C40s

    Hello,
I've been struggling with no luck how to make a call using Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.6.0 registered to CM 8.6.2 with intercluster ICT to another CM 8.6.2 where we have a VCS Control 7.0.2 via GK H225, and all C40s are registered as H.323.
The VCS has interworking between H323 and SIP, however not sure if there is any problem with that. Assuming it is ok, not sure either if I'm facing any interoperability issue because in my remote site I have C40 (H323 registered at VCS and SIP listening mode) and cisco jabber for windows which is SIP based.
If is not possible, would I be able to change my C40 from H323 to SIP at VCS, or have both H323/SIP registered at VCS? If so, will I need to change as well instead of GK I'll have to establish a SIP Trunk between the CM and VCS?
Another thing I do not believe either I would be able to have one VCS connected with two clusters, right?
I'm just trying to find a solution in case my current topology is not compatible, but feel free if you have any better idea to make it work.
Anyway here is what is happening:
When I make a call from my cisco jabber windows to C40 using alias number. The call is being redirected just fine to the C40 and it rings, however when someoene or the auto answer picks it up, the call dropped right away.
However, if I enabled the MTP in my CSF device, the call gets longer before dropping. I was even able to see my jabber " start video" turns green, before was grayed out all the time and the call dropped faster. I hear a fast busy tone.
I'm able to provide SDI traces, logs, diagnostic sip/h323 calls from VCS in order to know for sure if this is an incompatible issue or something I can workaround.
Let me know if someone of you are interested in read these logs or could point me on the right direction.
    Thanks!

    Ok,
I have looked at both logs. I have to mentinon though that you didnt
provide the log that shows the h323 setup between cucm and the VCS. This
is  most likely because the call originated from a different cucm than
the ones you provided the logs from.
The call would have orginated from the first cucm in the cucm group of
    this trunk: Name=RL_TRUNK_VIDEO
The cucm ip will be : 10.252.53.10.
This is the VCS log that confirms where the h323 request originated

  • Routing issue between Cisco Nexus and Cisco 4510 R+E Chassis

We have configured Cisco Nexus 7K9 as core and Cisco 4510 R+E as access switches for Server connectivity.
We are experiencing problem in terms of ARP learning and Ping issues between Cisco Nexus and end hosts.

    Hi,
So you have N7k acting as L3 with servers connected to 4510?.
Do you see the MAC associated with failing ARP in 4510?. Is it happening with all or few servers?. Just to verify if it is connectivity issue between N7k and 4510, you can configure an SVI on 4510 and assign address from same raneg (server/core range) and perform a ping.
This will help narrow down if issue is between server to 4510 or 4510 to N7k.
    Thanks,

I don't hve any NAT-exemptions in Cisco IOS Router. Transform-set I will change soon, but I've tried with tunnel mode and it didn't work.
Maybe NAT-exemptions is the issue. Can you advice me which exemptions should be in Cisco IOS Router?
Because on Cisco ASA I guess I have everything.
Here is show crypto session detail

  • The difference of the IEEE802.1x Auth between Cisco Routers and Catalyst switches

    Hello
I am investigating the difference of the IEEE802.1x Auth between Routers and Switches.
Basically dot1x auth is availlable on Catalyst Switches. however if I want to check to
PortBased Multi-Auth , MAC address Auth and any certification Auth with this feature,
Is it possible to integrate into Cisco Router such as Cisco 891F ?
In my opinion Cisco891F is also available to use basic IEEE802.1x but if it compares with Catalyst switches such as Cat3560X
I think there might be any unsupported feature on Cisco 891F.
I appreciate any information. thank you very much in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Masanobu Hiyoshi

Many time in interviews asked comaprison between cisco  routers and switches that i was answerless bcoz i dont have much knowledge about that. Can anyone provide me the compariosin sheet of the same.how are the cisco devices differ with each other how much Bandwidth each routres support and Etc...
Ummmm ... The most common question I get is "what is the difference between a router and a switch".
However, if you get a question like this, then my impression to this line of questioning are:
    1.  The candidate they are looking for has in-depth knowledge of routers and switches.  And I mean IN-DEPTH!;
    2.  They are not looking for a candidate.  They just want to stroke their ego.  There is not alot of people who can give you the "names and numbers" of routers and switches at a snap of a finger.  And if you do happen to know the answer, then and there, then expect a tougher follow-up question.

  • Inline Posture between Cisco ISE and Wireless LAN Controller

    Hi,
I was looking into Cisco ISE solution for deploying NAC.
I have a question about the network topology.
In  the user guide documents of cisco ISE, it is written that for Wireless  LAN Controllers (WLC) and VPN devices, an additional server, Inline Posture, is needed.
However, in the following integration document, there is not an inline posture between WLC and Cisco ISE server.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-18121
I  want to know if Inline Posture is a requirement, if not a  requirement, what are the benefits of having it between Cisco ISE Server  and WLC.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sinan
