Volume button problems

I have been having an issue where sometime my volume buttons on my keyboard doesnt work. It usually doesnt work depending if im on a certain webpage or so. Sometimes i have to mimize the internet inorder to get it to work. Does anyone know how this can be fixed?

which machine model do you have? do you have the on-screen display drivers installed?

Hello again.
Here is a good one for you.
the volume button in the top right of the screen is at the left hand side of your clock right??
On mine it has moved to the right and i cant get it back.
The apple store genius did not know how too get it back as she had never seen this.
It happend after i moved my clock to the screen then back to the top menu bar.
So can anybody on here help??

When you press Apple you can move items across that menu (except for a view that have fixed postions such as spotlight and account name)

Pearl 8100 volume button problems w/ headset and speakerphone

Thanks in advance for help on this weird problem. This is slightly long .. but hang with me :-)
My Pearl 8100 volume automaticallygoes down slightly below halfway when I plug in a wired headset (or Bluetoothheadset) or activate the speaker phone. The volume + up button will not work. The– volume down button works fine and when I push the + up and it clicks but doesnothing. When I’m in headset mode the volume will stay at 100% via calllog<options<general options<default call volume commands… but if push the volume – down in handset mode and try to push the volume back+up …it will not work.
This problem seemed to start around the time when I upgradedto v4.5.0.110. Hard reset does not solve, so I wiped and re-installedv4.5.0.110 but had the same problem. Next wiped and installed an earlier versionv4.2.1.154 but had the same results. Finally, I wiped v4.2.1.154 andre-installed the latest v4.5.0.110 ... again.
So I’m back at where I started ;-(

Lumia 720 down volume button problem

I am also facing this issue for quite some time now. I took it to Nokia care. They said they changed the volume key strip. Worked for some time. Again same issue. Yesterday I tried reinstalling the OS using Nokia software recovery tool. After that it worked for some time. But again gone.

Could you please confirm whether its a software or hardware issue. If its a software issue, we can atleast wait for a fix rather than running around.

Have you tried the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IdeaPad Z370 and Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit - problem with volume buttons

I recently bought my new Lenovo IdeaPad Z370 without operating system and installed Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit (the pre-installed system was FreeDOS which I decided to remove).
Nearly all is working fine. The only exception are the volume keys: pressing them does start adjusting the volume, but causes a system problem. If I press sound up, the speakers move to immediately to the maximum volume and behave as it I was continuing to press the button.
The same happens when pressing the volume down or sound off buttons. It is then not possible any more to use the keyboard or type anyting, nor change the volume using the touchpad and Ubuntu's speaker symbol. It is also not possible any more to shut down the computer using Ubuntu's virtual shutdown button, but with the real button on the computer.
The touchpad is still working and after putting the computer briefly into standby the problem is solved to the degree that it is possible to use the keyboard etc. again, and the sound volume can be adjusted again with Ubuntu's speaker symbol.
I guess this must be a driver issue that ubuntu 11.1 does not support the buttons.
As well, the one-key-theatre button and the thermal-management button do not work. Pressing them, just nothing happens (except that the light up).
I should mention that installing Ubuntu apparently deleted the partitions including the one-key recovery button. At least this key does now only work like a second power-button. Unfortunately I did not receive the User-guide with the computer but only downloaded from the internet after installing Ubuntu.
I wonder whether apart from adjusting the volume buttons, it might be possible to get the one-key-theatre button and thermal-management-button operational for ubuntu too, and whether the one-key-recovery button could work under ubuntu too. Gparted tells me that I have 2 small partitions of 3.9 GiB each, labeled "extended" and "windows swap", and one of 1.02 GiB which is not in use apart from the main drive of course.

The issue you are encountering is due to driver absence in Linux.
The driver for Linux is not available. Hope, Ubuntu new version have more applications and drivers.

IPad4 volume button appears to have suddenly gone bad, will not increase volume. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

My iPad4 lives in a smart case, it never even goes out of the house. I baby it to be honest. So why, I ask you, did the volume button suddenly stop working? I tried all the suggested software and general settings I could find but it appears to be a hardware issue. I hope I'm wrong. I can decrease volume down to mute without effort but the volume 'up' function is totally kaputt. Maybe somebody has experienced this problem and found a solution? I'm bummed that my (otherwise) perfect little iPad now has an annoying flaw. - Thank you

Restore as new, if that fixes the problem it is something in your settings or backup that was causing the issue.
If it does not fix the problem, you have a hardware issue.

Having problems us ng my ipod 7g Nike Fitness. When running when I press the button between the volume buttons, I get a different action almost every time.

I am having problems using my ipod 7g with Nike Fitness. When running when I press the button between the volume buttons, I get a different action almost every time. And usually I end up either turrning volume up very high or ending the workout. I need to be able to pause workout, and get spoken feedback regarding time, distance, and pace, that's all. I'm using a Griffin brand armband, that covers all of the buttons. I've read the online manual. no help. I'm just about ready to return it and go back to my 5th gen with its smaller song capacity and no blurry. Any help or suggestions very welcome.

I have had both good and bad experiences with Acronis True Image. I got the recent copy of ATI via a Newegg.com bundle. I haven't tried it yet on any Windows 7 editing systems. ATI installs some services that I would rather not have running in the background.
What made you change from ATI to ShadowProtect Desktop Edition?
Are you running Windows 7?
What do you see as advantages to running ShadowProtect Desktop Edition as opposed to Acronis True Image?

Lenovo T500 problems with Fnf3, Fnf6, brightness button and mute/volume buttons

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 and installed the hotkey driver as well as the system inter driver but these buttons are still not working.
The only ones that are slightly working is the brightness and volume buttons (excluding the mute which isn't working at all) but I am not getting OSD indication like I did in Vista.
Is it possible to fix this problem?

Of the drivers you mention I have the following installed:
- ThinkPad Power Management Driver (6hku06ww)
- Power Manager (7zu413ww)
- Lenovo Fingerprint Software UPEK (6hf309ww)
They appear to work well apart from switching the built in CD player on after a power down. I now have to manually eject and reinsert the CD driver to switch it on.
On My T400s I only have discreet graphics. The built in drivers for WIn 7 worked but I downloaded Intels Win 7 graphics drivers from their site.
You might also want to install the UltraNav driver and Utility.
The drivers seem stable and (mostly) working as they should so I would recommend you install them.

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

Volume buttons having problems now

I have a macbook which has been bootcamped to have Vista on it, right?
So I was fooling around with buttons trying to figure out what the right click function was.
I googled it, and got a few different things, so i tried them all.
And a few of the ideas had to do with pushing F10 - F12, which are the volume buttons on a macbook.
Now, everytime I touch one of the volume buttons, it does not go up one by one with the little white square. Instead, it goes up a bunch of squares, and half of them are like grey or black, and the white one goes to a different spot each time. It's really bothersome, so please help me if you can..

The photos showing the incorrect orientation after being transferred to your computer is not an iOS problem. This is a Windoze problem. The photo viewing app included with Windoze ignores or doesn't recognize the photo orientation data included with the photo's EXIF data with iOS devices.
Try using a photo viewing app by a 3rd party that doesn't ignore this.

Sleep and volume buttons broken, but there's another problem.

The sleep and volume buttons on my Ipod touch stopped working recently, and on top of that, my speaker randomly cuts out.
If I squeese the top and bottom of my Ipod hard enough, I can get the sleep button to work for about 3 seconds.
The volume buttons have not responded to anything.
My speaker started cutting out on the first day I got it, but I thought it was because I had set it up wrong. Squeesing the corner where the speaker is located will make it work again, but only for a short amount of time.
I plan on taking my Ipod to an Apple store to have it serviced, but there is one problem.
I accidently cracked my Ipod's screen. The buttons stopped working MONTHS after it happened, and the speaker was already broken.
My Ipod is still under Apple's 1 year warenty, so would they fix the buttons for free under the warenty even if the screen was cracked?
I don't care about the screen getting fixed, I just want the buttons to work again.

I know the screen will not be covered, and I don't need it to be fixed.
What I want to know is will they fix the buttons?
I don't think the buttons would have broken because of the screen because the buttons broke 4 months after the screen broke.
And the speaker was broken right out of the box.
