VS2010, against SQL 2K8 R2 - login failure when adding subreport.

I have tried a number of ways to get this to work.  Is there a set of instructions that can be followed to render a CR with a subreport?
I can create CR reports that run.  Can create subreports that run, but a CR containing a subreport will not run on the server.  Fails with a variety of errors, depending on whether I am using XSDs, OLE-DB or DSN connection.  I give up trying different methods and looking all over the internet for fixes.
What is the preferred method of connection?   I am using stored procedures, and typically have no prblem with RC, but I have to adwit - this- is the first time that I have tried a subreport.
I just cannot beleive how difficult this is to push into a non-dev environment.  Maybe I am missing something simple . . .
Dev: VS2010 on Vista.  CR SP1.  Server: Win 2K8 R2 Ent, SQL 2K8 R2

  • 802.1X Wireless Login Failure when Rebooting

    Greetings All,
    I have a mixture of 10.6.x laptops (as well as some 10.5.x) laptops - both MacBooks and MacBook Pros.  I have a Windows Radius Server with AD authentication.  The laptops have been programmed, via a WPA2 Enterprise trust certificate and AD credentials to authenticate to the wireless network - which works.  Problem is when I reboot, the connection doesn't keep.  I need to keep hitting 'Connect' - it doesn't ask for credentials again, it just works.  Reboot, same issue.  If I logout however (no restart), the connection remains the same.  Problem is that these laptops are also binded to an OD server, and at the login screenm I'm getting the red light for available network connections (because as mentioned above, in the background it wants me to re-connect).
    I have seen numerous posts on this and/or similar issues but have yet to find a solution.  I have re-added the entry, deleted all keychain entries, etc.  It's just holding on after a reboot.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    From the description, you suspect the DHCP request cause this issue. Would you please send us the packets? Since it seems that you have looked into the traffic and found some clues.
    Meanwhile, I found the following hotfix which may related to this issue.
    No response to 802.1X authentication requests after authentication fails on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980295/en-us
    Next Action Plan:
    1.Clean Boot
    a. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the Open box, and then click OK.
    b. In the Startup tab, click the "Disable All" button.
    c. In the Services tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" checkbox, and then click the "Disable All" button.
    ======================================================
    Clean Boot + binary search
    In a Clean Boot, all the 3rd party services and startup programs are disabled. If the server can start normally in Clean Boot, we can be sure that the issue was caused by some 3rd party service or application. And then we can do a "binary search".
    You can enable half of all the services in Services tab, and then restart the server to check the result. If the issue reoccurs, it means the culprit is in this list; if not, the culprit is in the other half. And then, we can continue the binary search, until
    we find out the root cause. Please let me know if this action plan is OK for you.
    2.Collect etl trace on the problematic client.
    netsh trace start capture=yes overwrite=yes tracefile=c:\net.etl filemode=circular
    ****Try to reproduce this issue****
    netsh trace stop
    Please send the net.etl to us for underlying analysis.
    For any concerns, please let us know.

  • Display Login failure when using External Custom Login Form

    I am new to OAM area and really apreciate if some one can guide me in the right direction. I have configured External Custom Login Form (thanks to fusionsecurity blog) with Oracle Access Manager 11g + webgate 10g. If I enter correct user id and password in the below form, then all is good and able to access the protected resoruce.
    If I enter incorrect values for loginname/password fields, then the from simply refreshes itself and does not give me any error message. How can display error message when a user enters in correct values for those fields?
    <form action="http://hostname:7777/oam/server/auth_cred_submit" method="post">
    <fieldset>
    <legend>Login Screen</legend>
    <label for="username" accesskey="u">User Name:</label>
    <input type="text" id="username" name="username" size="15" tabindex="1">
    <label for="password" accesskey="p">Password:</label>
    <input type="password" id="password" name="password" size="15" tabindex="2">
    <input type="hidden" name="login-form-type" value="pwd">
    <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Login" tabindex="3">
    </fieldset>
    </form>
    Thanks

    Hi!
    I have installed Oracle Access Manager 11g + Webgate 11g and not 10g, but I think
    it has to work beause login is being processed by OAM (/oam/server/auth_cred_submit);
    and it if does not work, it may give you a clue on how to do it.
    Having stated that fact, it is very simple to do it: whenever I try to access a protected
    resource and I am not authenticated I am redirected to my login page and some
    special parameters are passed to it such as: request_id, OAM_REQ, authn_try_count and
    some others.
    authn_try_count is the magic one as it show the number of login tries, so here is
    a code snippet of my login page which uses JSTL for conditional processing.
    <form...>
    <c:if test="*${param['authn_try_count'] > 0}*">
    &lt;span class="error-msg"&gt;
    <fmt:message key="login.val.wrong.login"/>
    &lt;/span&gt;
    </c:if>
    </form>

  • Update failure when adding email

    Hi,
    I have a blackberry curve9360, I added my work email on my personal phone, and when I got my work phone I signed in with my personal blackberry ID, which synced my personal emails and work emails.  I decided to remove my personal email from my work phone so I created a new blackberry ID. Now when I try to add my work email to the new blackberry ID  I get an error : "Update Failure". Can someone please advise

  • Failure when adding recipients to distribution list in so23

    Hi,
    I am using so23 for adding recipients in distribution lists.
    I am editing the distribution list in transaction so23, "Change Shared Distribution List".
    Than, in the tab Distr. list content I am adding the recipient.
    For example I am adding new recipient:
    In the column recipient I am typing the mail address and choosing
    in recip. type U Internet Address.
    When I am saving the list the recipt. type is changing to "via Internet"
    and then I have problems in my code because the Recip. type is not U.
    In addition, when typing logon name like johns and choosing B. SAP Logon
    Name the recipient is changed to "John Smith" and the recip. type is deleted.
    I searched a few notes and read that maybe the mail address is wrong, but the mail address is fine (as I wrote before).
    Thanks,
    Ofir

    Hi,
    This is not expected behaviour.
    My questions :
    1) Are any of users successfully login to OBIEE. If so caputure their roles and groups from " My account " and  paste it here.
    2) Make sure you give following privilages to your groups and application roles [from the point 1]
    User Population - Can List Users
    javascript:void(null)
    User Population - Can List Groups
    javascript:void(null)
    User Population - Can List Application Roles
    Seeing all the  LDAP users in the Weblogic admin console is Ok. But you have to see under what group and applicaiton role they are logging into OBIEE.
    Thanks

  • Authentication failure when adding new 'Segment in Use'

    Hi all!
    I've set up integration between Siebel 8.1.1.9 and OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0. I've applied My Oracle Support article ID 1400715.1, importing the modified SIF and Workflow definitions and re-deployed the SRF to the server.
    When attempting to drill into a folder in the 'Pick Segment' applet, I get the following error:
    Operation 'impersonate' of Web Service 'com.siebel.analytics.web/soap/v1.SAWSessionService' at port 'SAWSessionServiceSoap' failed with the following explanation:
    "Authentication error. An invalid User Name or Password was entered.".(SBL-EAI-04308)
    I cannot for the life of me work out why this is happening. I've followed 1400715.1:
    1. Created a new OBIEE user called 'impersonateuser' and added the 'oracle.bi.server.impersonateUser' permission
    2. In Siebel, Marketing - Administration > Servers, I've set the User Id and Password fields for the 'Default Analytics Web Server' entry, ensuring that the password contains more than 8 characters and contains a number, with the 'impersonateuser' details. The 'impersonateuser' user can successfully log in to OBIEE / Dashboard
    I've checked the Web Service definitions and replaced host name with host:port. The Web Service is definitely getting invoked but there seems to be a problem with the impersonation.
    Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
    Many thanks!
    mroshaw

    DOH - failed to RTFM correctly!
    I'd not followed the instructions for adding the permission correctly - you have to read very cafrefully how to get to the right page to add the permission.
    Working now! :)

  • Recipient Policies failure when adding new users

    Hi,
    I have some trouble adding new users to my Exchange 2007 setup. I get the message "The Exchange server address list service fail to respond. This could be because of an address list or email address policy configuration error"
    Of course I Googled around to find solutions, but after trying everything, it still doesn't work. System Attendant just seems to run nice.
    This is the 8231 message I get in the logs:
    Permanent failure reported by policy group provider for 'CN=Recipient Policies,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=[org],DC=local':'MAD.EXE', error=8000ffff.  Taking provider offline.
    After Googling the error I came across al kind of solutions, however, most of them relate to Exchange 2003.
    Pretty much the issue here; http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/f1c07fe1-451f-4cf4-8b8d-3e0d15376307/the-exchange-server-address-list-service-failed-to-respond-this-could-be-because-of-an-address?forum=exchangesvrgenerallegacy
    Is there any way of recreating the Default Policy? It doesn't work through Management Console. Maybe via ADSI?
    Could anyone help? Thanks a lot.

    Hi Combo,
    Just check if msexchangeSystemAttendant service is running fine. If not please start System Attendant Service.
    Also try restarting the system attendant service and file distribution service and check if they are already started
    Run ExBPA and see if it throws any errors related to Email address policies which might help
    Increase Diagnostic Logging for MSExchangeAL for below parameters to expert and see if it generates any relevant logs in event viewer
    a)Address List Syncronizataion
    b)Ldap Operations
    If nothing works its better remove and recreate email address policies
    Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question.That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

  • SQL Server 2012 syspolicy_purge_history job causes cross-instance login failures w. EraseSystemHealthPhantomRecords

    I have unique service accounts set up for multiple instances on the same SQL Server 2012.
    When step 3 of the inbuilt syspolicy_purge_history job(Erase Phantom System Health Records) runs, it appears to attempt to run against every instance on the server despite being passed the instance path!
    The SQLServer's powershell script call:
    if ('$(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(INST))' -eq 'MSSQLSERVER') {$a = '\DEFAULT'} ELSE {$a = ''};
    (Get-Item SQLSERVER:\SQLPolicy\$(ESCAPE_NONE(SRVR))$a).EraseSystemHealthPhantomRecords()
    so with instances SERVER\X this runs as...
    (Get-Item SQLSERVER:\SQLPolicy\SERVER\X).EraseSystemHealthPhantomRecords()
    SERVER\X's job will run and I will see login failures in the error logs of SERVER\Y and SERVER\Z for the service account set up for instance X.
    It seems Microsoft's only 'accepted solution' to this problem is for me to compromise my security by escalating the access of these service accounts?
    Has anyone else run into and corrected this failure?

    Hi Atombath,
    When you install multiple instances on one Server, and  the SQL Server’s powershell scripts are the same in inbuilt syspolicy_purge_history job steps. However, when you start PowerShell by right clicking
     syspolicy_purge_history job, you will find it will point to their own instance. I do a test in my SQL Server 2012,
     it will not across instance to collect the error logs. So I recommend you use its original powershell scripts for the syspolicy_purge_history job.
    Sometimes, if you run the syspolicy_purge_history job on a clustered instance, the syspolicy_purge_history SQL Server Agent job may fail due to using the computer node name instead of the virtual server name. For more information, see:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955726/en-us
    In addition, you can use different service account for your multiple SQL Server instances on the same Server. And make sure the accounts that you created get added to the sysadmin fixed server role, the accounts are also set in the three Agent roles (SqlAgentUserRole,
    SqlAgentReaderRole, and SqlAgentOperatorRole).

  • SQL Database Login failure

    I'm getting a SQL database login failure on one customer after many successful installations at other customers. My app uses OLE DB (ADO) database type with the SQLOLEDB provider to access the database. I create the table logon info structure internally in my app and use that to connect the Crystal Report for.Net framework to the database. I've verified that the server name is correct and the database allows access from SQL Management Studio and from the rest of my app, which uses VB SQL connection objects. But on this one customer I get a "Database Login" prompt when the Crystal Report is run. The prompt shows the correct user name and password. When I hit "Login" the login fails (as it failed internally leading to the dialog being shown in the first place).
    Anyone have any idea on what's going on here? Any idea on where else to look? I suspect some software the customer is running is interfering somehow with Crystal Reports. But I don't have any idea of what to check for. Any help will be appreciated.
    Jon Webb
    PEP Systems, Inc.

    Some of the more common causes for this are:
    1. Firewalls - If you have a firewall between the database server and your computer
    2. Different SubNets.  If your database server is on a different sub-net than the computer you are trying to connnect from - then it might not be able to see it / resolve the name.  To verify this, trying pinging the database computer by machine name  (e.g. ping myDBServer).   This can also be caused by the computer not being able to see the DNS server, and so not able to resolve the DB server machine name.
    3. Wrong DB driver version.  Sometimes if you are trying to connect to a newer version of SQL server using older drivers - it won't work.  Verify what version of the SQL server drivers are being used.
    4. MDAC is not installed.  To connect via ODBC you sometimes need MDAC installed.  You can check the version using the info in this kbase http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301202

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Hi Robert
    Thanks for the response and all very good suggestions which should help Chris narrow down his particular issue.
    It's been about a year since we last looked at this so I'd quite forgotten most of the diagnostics we'd done however we did go through most of the same diagnostics ourselves but the resolution was hampered due to the fact we support the telephony/WAN and another third party supports the desktops and LAN infrastructure so after months of to and fro with the customer and their third party (and many, many man hours) we eventually left the risk with the customer and investigations never progressed any further.
    1.) Upgrade to UCCX 7.0SR5.  This is a very stable release of code with few open bugs or caveats against it.
                - Agreed. We also ran into other bugs which required an upgrade.
    2.) Verify that the active NIC is indeed at the top of the bindings order.  Just having it active isn't enough, there needs to be the further test of moving to the top of the bindings order.
                - We did check this.
    3.) Verify that the hosts file on the UCCX server(s) has the external IP and hostname of the server in it.
                - Did this too.
    4.) Check the remote locations to verify that the network is correctly configured, there are no line errors on the WAN circuits, no misconfiguration on the switch/router ports and that QOS is in place across the network.
                - This part of the investigation stalled due to another 3rd party supporting the onsite network however no WAN issues were found.
    5.) Try to take a test system that is on the same network as the one having HRC errors.  See if it's seeing the issues.  If not, progressively move out to other offices/locations until you replicate the issue and then see what has changed.  Something there should hopefully point to the cause of the error.
                - We did this also, using my laptop I connected from various locations and even when using the same network connection as the end user had no problems, we did note the successful connection attempts used a slightly different network route/DNS/WINS however again got nowhere with the third party supporting this aspect of the network.
    6.) Finally, you may want to consider creating external data warehouse servers so that your UCCX servers aren't serving up the HRC data.
                - Not an option for this customer, again this aspect of the service is a different third party on their own network and customer not willing to pay for additional servers for the telephony estate to provide this functionality when they only have a few CCX users.

  • Design a job for Login failure alert

    HI,
         I need a query to get Login failure alert for both windows login and SQL login account. Also i need track to which database the Login user is connecting while he is getting Login failure error. I need to to schedule this as a job.

    To check what database was being used when the login failed, you will need to use default trace as mentioned in the link below:-
    http://www.eraofdata.com/the-sql-server-default-trace/
    or simply run the query below:-
    SELECT  TE.name AS [EventName] ,
            v.subclass_name ,
            T.DatabaseName ,
            t.DatabaseID ,
            t.NTDomainName ,
            t.ApplicationName ,
            t.LoginName ,
            t.SPID ,
            t.StartTime ,
            t.SessionLoginName
    FROM    sys.fn_trace_gettable(CONVERT(VARCHAR(150), (
                    SELECT TOP 1
                    f.[value]
                    FROM    sys.fn_trace_getinfo(NULL) f
                    WHERE   f.property = 2)), DEFAULT) T
            JOIN sys.trace_events TE
                    ON T.EventClass = TE.trace_event_id
            JOIN sys.trace_subclass_values v
                    ON v.trace_event_id = TE.trace_event_id
                    AND v.subclass_value = t.EventSubClass
    WHERE   te.name IN ( 'Audit Login Failed' )
    order by t.StartTime desc
    The only other way would be to use Auditing, Server Side Trace or Triggers if you want to maintain history of these.

  • SSL VPN Login failure issue

    Hello,
    I am having an issue with some users trying to login to our SSL VPN (Anyconnect) via ASA5505 8.2(1).  Authentication is done via AD.  From the same computer, the client finds the DNS name and unlocks the login username and password.  When I enter a username and password and click connect, it is instantly rejected with login failure with the following event log:
    Function: ConnectMgr::setPromptAttributes
    File: .\ConnectMgr.cpp
    Line: 2657
    Invoked Function: setPromptAttributes
    Return Code: -33554423 (0xFE000009)
    Description: GLOBAL_ERROR_UNEXPECTED
    Error text:
    Login failed.
    If I change the user account to another user (from the same PC), login works perfectly fine - this is only happening with 3 or 4 users - I have compared the user accounts of a failing account and a successful account and they are identical in AD.
    This has been driving me crazy - as a work around for the failing users, I just created a temporary account which works perfectly fine.  The request doesn't even seem to hit the ASA (there is nothing in the logs that show a failed attempt).  Still troubleshooting and looking at certificate's at this point.  Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks.
    Regards.
    After a little more testing, seems somehow related to users being in to many groups in AD.

    Hello,
    If the website is unavailable or in this case, the website is missing several characters(charts, canvas, etc or some other objects), usually could be an issue with the rewrite engine.
    Solution (workaround):
    You may use smart tunnel for this website, so the rewrite engine will not override any content, and it will display the website as it should.
    You can implement it as follow:
    Add a Bookmark
    Bookmark for the service and clicking the Enable Smart Tunnel option in the Add or Edit Bookmark dialog box.
    For further information you can find it here:

    Let me know how tit works out!

  • After creating a contained database, getting a login failure error while trying to connect to it.

    After creating a contained database and a user with passowrd under the same database, I tried connecting to the contained database. I entered the server name, login credentials and went to the connection properties tab to select the contained database using
    <browse server> option under "connect to database". Here I get the login failure error.
    TITLE: Browse Server for Database
    Failed to connect to server <servername>\<login>. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)
    But when I manually enter the Database name instead of selecting from the <browse server> option the connection gets through.
    Is this a Bug ? Has anyone else faced this error?

    Hello,
    Is this a Bug ? Has anyone else faced this error?
    It's not a bug, it's working as intended. Contained users don't have instance level permissions and cannot "login" to the instance (which is what the "browse" button is attempting). In order for it to work, the database name must be in the connection string
    (which with the browse button, it will not be).
    Welcome to contained users, they aren't for everyone.
