Wait time for RFC response

Hi experts,
I am calling an RFC in a remote SAP R/3 system from another SAP system (say CRM).
Is there a timeout parameter value that can be set to a time limit that a calling system can wait for a response from the RFC call? In other words, how can I set up a time parameter in the ABAP program to wait for the RFC and if can not get a response; continue with a set of code.
Any suggestion greatly appreciated <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>

Just to calrify my question;
An RFC is being called in R/3.
The calling system is say CRM.
The question is:
1) If the RFC called system (R/3) is down, what would be the expected response from the called system (R/3) to the requesting system (CRM)? i.e what happens when the called system is down/connection breaks down?
When calling the RFC in R/3, I noticed that the call hangs up and the hour glass shows and waits for the RFC reponse for a long time. How can this be prevented? That is, the RFC call should timeout after a certain time if you don't get a response from the called system. How and where this timeout can be set in the ABAP.
Thanks

  • How to increase the waiting time for response in Adapter Engine not in IE

    Hi Experts,
It is a SOAP to Proxy Synchronous interface. SOAP system is sending the request to PI, PI sending the same request to ECC system, After execution of some logic response back to PI in 7 minutes. In ABAP Stack(sxmb_moni) processing the response message also successfully with success flag after completion of these 7 minutes. But exactly 5 minutes later getting the error at Java Stack RWB- in communication channel monitoring i.e
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessageExpiredException: Message bd2bf8d0-b2c2-11e0-c383-001cc4fb5cb7(OUTBOUND) expired.  We have set the "runtime-HTTP_TIMEOUT" parameter as 3600. thats why in Integration engine it is processing successfully.
kindly suggest me how to increase the waiting time for response in Adapter Engine. Exactly after 5 mins getting the above error in rwb, but in Integration Engine getting successful flag after 7 mins until then it is waiting for response with  status flag Log version.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Srihari.

  • What does the option 'Settings- incorrect waiting time for status' do ?

    Hi All
We had an infopackage that seemed to be hanging this morning . (Yellow Status) I was advised to access the option 'Settings->incorrect waiting time for status' and set the wait time to 7 minutes (from 7 hours). This changed the status to Red.
I then re-ran the ipak and reset the ''Settings->incorrect waiting time for status'  to 7 hours. This made the red process go back to yellow and the run time started going up again.
Can someone explain what is going on. Have I got 2 instances of the same ipak running simulateously. Why did the red one come back to life even thoug I deleted the request in data target for that ipak.
    Thanx
    HKF

Thanks, Verdi - the first time I enabled,/ or disabled, I hadn't realised what had actually changed, as I think I'm so used to seeing my links open in Safari anyway!

While we have no idea within this Community Forum how long you would have to wait for your iPhone 6 Case, I can tell you that there would not be a "general" answer of value.  Like any product that is available in different materials and colors, the inventory varies based on what you have specifically ordered.  For example, I visited an Apple Store on the day after the iPhone 6 became available and was interested in the "Midnight Blue" Leather"  Apple iPhone 6 Case.  The store had plenty of all the other colors, but that specific case and color had sold out that morning.

    Hi there,
    Here you go:
REPORT  ZREPORTNAME. "the name of your report

"call your chain to be executed after that
    CALL FUNCTION 'RSPC_CHAIN_START'

  • Long wait time for /sap/webcuif/uif_callback

STAD shows following record indicating a very long wait time. Seems the application /sap/webcuif/uif_callback mentioned in the record is a CRM WebClient UI framework related service defined in transaction SICF. I did not observe such long wait time on other HTTP requests and applications. Why could this happen? How to analyze further? The system is CRM703 SP03.

    Hello Jason,
the "Wait for work process" means the request was at the dispatcher queue waiting for a work process.
Probably at that time all  the DIA work processes in that instance were occupied.
    was that the case?
    kind regards,

  • What's wait time for ATT order nowadays?

I see from Apple's retail web site that most locations now have plenty of inventory.
Does anyone have any idea what the wait time is for iPhones ordered thru ATT?
I have a rather complocated change in my plan to make and feel that ATT will be better to handle than Apple store but I have a really narrow window of time to get one i.e. Aug 19-22.

Go to your AT&T store and ask for an iPhone 8G or 16G whatever floats your boat as far as music and video memory goes. When I went there, I paid for a pre-order $208.95. They pinged my credit card on July 19th and didn't charge it until it was shipped on 7/29 and picked up on 7/30. 7/31 they fulfilled the charge.
So it's at least 12 days yes. But if they don't have it in stock then it's that much of a wait time.

  • 11 hour wait time for movie rental!

Over Christmas I got a 2nd generation Apple TV. I was excited but didn't have the time to try it out until tonight. I rented Iron Man 2 in HD and after letting it load for over an hour, I came back to watch it, only to see a wait time of over 11 hours. Is their anything I can due to speed it up? I have no problems renting movies on my macbook. I'm very frustrated.

I'm not an expert either, but the basic idea is that the DNS servers route the internet traffic and commonly cache web pages to speed them up. DNS services claim to be faster than your internet provider and usually provide some claimed protection against fraudulent sites. They also offer some filtering options.
I was using OpenDNS. You can get the idea of what it does here: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/household/
However, if you don't know what it is, then you're probably not using it. You would have to deliberately set it up.
I may be wrong, but I think the idea that these services cause an issue is that your download has to go through the one place rather than finding the fastest place. So, there is a backlog with lots of people now downloading internet video. I've read in a few spots that this is B.S., but since I'm not a computer engineer, I really don't know either. I can only say that on the one test, it was faster without OpenDNS than it was with it.
I'm going to keep trying and see. I'd rather keep OpenDNS if I can.

    exec dbms_xdb.cfg_update( updatexml( dbms_xdb.cfg_get(), '/xdbconfig/sysconfig/call-timeout/text()', '300', 'xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb/xdbconfig.xsd"'));

  • Is it possible to change the wait time for when you enter an incorrect password on your iphone/ipad?

I reaaally hate how anti-procrastination apps like ColdTurkey don't work for apple products, because what's the point of restricting internet usage on the computer when you can just access it from your apple device? There's no point in using the parental controls or setting passwords for obvious reasons, either.
So I had an idea: from what I know, after guessing the password incorrectly 6 times, the device is locked for 1 min, 7 times, 5 min etc. So I was thinking, is it possible to change the settings, for example, to lock the phone for 60min after 3 wrong password attempts? This would be incredibly helpful!!
(if you know a way but don't want to post it here, please email me instead!)

Thanks a lot Rob. That works.

  • Waiting time for Apple Care...

    Hello!
I'm an italian guy with the "usuals" MBP problems... the Moo Sound it isn't for me a big problem, the whine disturb me a lot.... but, I hate the space bar that doesn't works... VeryoftenIwritelikethisline...
So I think to call Apple to send MBP for assistance. I use this Mac for work every day and my old Powerbook it is already sell... how many time Apple take for assistance? It is possible to make a little poll in the forum?
    thank you!

Support from Apple varies depending on several factors i.e. type of failure, parts on hand, location of nearest facility, etc. In your case, it’s really hard to tell. Who knows, perhaps they will simply exchange the unit based on the defective keyboard. Anyway, good luck.
p.s. My future wife lives in Verona and I will be there later this month.

  • Average waiting time for applecare standard service replacement????

Does anyone know how long it usually takes returning you Iphone 4 on the standard replacement option rather than the advanced option which applecare provide you. I sent my iphone on last saturday on the 7th and its not been 9 days but I suppose techniqually its probaly only 5 days seing as delivery only operates in Australia from Monday to Friday. Thats what I thought anyway. There are the floods in Queensland not to forgot so thats probaly held up mail aswell. But with all this would anyone find this odd that I havent heard anything or should I not worry about it?

yeh i'll give that a try actually. I havent asked them the status by phone yet. oh i don't know if you've seen the email they send you with the repair ID on before but it says you must return the Iphone 4 with 10 business days to avoid cancellation. Would Monday to Friday only count as business days or is it from the day I requested the repair and replacement service?

  • Should clients of long-running processes wait for a response?

I am a bit confused by the worklist tutorial where the client waits around for
a response from the worklist process that blocks on human input. This may be okay
for the sample application, but is it a realistic scenario? Have you designed
any practical worklist processes this way? I would have thought that the client
of a worklist process would simply trigger the process and go away. Eventually
when the human involved in the process would take some action, the process would
then, for example, send a message to some application. What do you think? I would
be interested in your opinions and perhaps some real examples of how you are using
    worklists.
    Thanks.
P.S. Is it even possible for a worklist client to trigger the process and go away?
Would the process die because the client has gone out of scope?

I agree with your comments. In being honest as well, we unfortunately do have SRs that get behind or missed. It's very frustrating on our side as well when we have these come up. We have implemented a number of technologies and also human touch to help us catch these and continue to focus on ways to overcome these delays. I know it's frustrating for you as well.
Our customer satisfaction is very high and actually continues to increase each Qtr. Our data shows us our three key satisfaction areas are; speed of response, speed of resolution and followup.
Chat support helps us in response time, but sometimes may hinder us in resolution times. Especially with more complex issues. Our goals were not to totally replace the phones with chats, but to use chat to allow us to respond more quickly, which it has done. We're now focusing our folks to realize it's still ok to call you when the Chat is hindering resolution and it would be quicker to talk live about the issue.
We resolve over half of the SRs on the first day. We continue to focus on speeding up the resolution of those that go beyond the first day. A couple things we've implemented are we call you back at least every 2 days when the SR is in Novell's court and at least every 5 days when it's in your court. We've also implemented timed escalation for SRs and are now looking at also escalating when progress is not being made after a certain number of days (rather that just time open). The goal is to get you in the hands of the right person asap to speed up the resolution time.
We're also having Managers call you on more and more SRs before being closed to double check your satisfaction with the SR.
Our dream is to never have you need to ask us for attention on a SR. We continue to make progress on it.
I look forward to your thoughts and other ideas you may have to help us improve,
