Want to display (KPI) pictures (integrate in universe or WebI)

Hi,
My database currently is delivering information on KPI's.
The hard text results are : GREEN, RED, YELLOW, BETTER, WORSE and EQUAL.
In Web Intelligence I do not want the universe to display these texts. I want it to display pictures. Specificaly 'GREEN.png', for example.
I can't figure out how to program this into the universe.
Help!!

Hi,
1. You have to install the image files on the images directory on the BusinessObjects server. The images directory is typically: <INSTALL DIR>\Images
2. Change the formula for KPI as:
For XIR2:
If([KPI]="GREEN";"boimg://GREEN.png";If([KPI]="RED";"boimg://RED.png";If([KPI]="YELLOW";"boimg://YELLOW.png";If([KPI]="BETTER";"boimg://BETTER.png";If([KPI]="WORSE";"boimg://WORSE.png";"boing://EQUAL.png")))))
For XIR3: Use If-Then-Else logic.
Note: refer to the image by boimg://image.png. If image files are located on another web server, you need to type the URL as well as the file name. For example:http://www.internal.businesscompany.com/images/company_logo.gif
3. Change the display property of the cell setting Read cell content as Image URL

Displaying a picture from an array of pixel values

I have a picture I want to display in an AWT frame. The picture is stored as several arrays of pixel values which represent rectangles.
Each rectangle has a start co-ordinate and a height and width.
There is a ColorModel associated with the pixel values, so that's not a problem.
What's the best way to display these rectangles as pixels, and patch them all together to make the full picture? I'm currently trying to use a MemoryImageSource, but I'm having trouble displaying more than one rectangle at once, and the picture flickers like mad, suggesting MemoryImageSource intended for animation, whereas I just want to display the picture once.
Any suggestions?

OK, that looks good. I'm investigating it.
However, It's not clear how to get the pixel values from an array into it. It requires a WriteableRaster of the pixel data, and to create a WriteableRaster, you need a DataBuffer... which is Abstract!
Do you know how to make a DataBuffer from an array?

DISPLAY many pictures

I want to display many picture (gif, jpg) in a window with their names (all to be shrink to the same size). i also want to be able to select one of the pictures (just one at a time). how can I do it?
(p.s- the problem is with the way to display them, no to laod from the Hard Disc...)
note that I'm working with SWT...

Why cant I drag and drop my pictures into an order I want to display them

Why can't I drag and drop my pictures into an order that I want to display them ? The 'manual sort' option does not seem to be 'lit' nor does the 'reset manual sort' what am I doing wrong please.

As to iPhoto, unless you take a few minutes to actually learn how to use it then you will never be happy. Same with any new PC program that you do not understand. Or a new car for that matter

As to your specific issue, trivial. Make an album of the photos and manually drag them to the order you want. Events simply do not work that way

User wants to display the % symbol beside the value

I have a key figure ..which is added to formula(aggregation tab set as average of a characteristic).
its displaying average correctly in the report output ,but user want it to be displayed % symbol beside that .
how can i do that ..
For other KPI ..i got the requirement as A-B/B and here i applied A-B %A B and its working fine.
What if i need to put % symbol beside a value ??

You can follow the below steps to achieve the desired output :
1) Create a formula in the query designer . Suppose your key figure is Y which you want to display with % symbol .
Take this key figure in the formula . Then from the Percentage Functions choose (%A)Percentage Share. Then after this write 100 .
So your formula would be : Y %A 100 .
2) Hide your original key figure Y and display this formula in the report . It will come with the percentage symbol .
Hope the above steps will help you to achieve the desired output .

Using URL's to Display a picture in Crystal 10

I want to display a photo of an employee above some information about the employee on a Crystal Report. The firm stores the photos in a folder on the firm's website. We can get the URL for each person's photo(.jpg). How do I use that to display on a report? I don't want to use a hyperlink. I am currently using Crystal 10.

i do not know if this feature is in CR10, as i use CRxi, but if you insert a picture then right click on it, choose graphic options then the picture tab, there is a button where you can enter the graphic location.

Iphoto not displaying some pictures

For some reason, and this is recent, if I try to display a picture within iphoto, it just shows a doted square with an "!" in the middle. Preview brings the files up just fine. What gives?

Here's your problem then:
One additional item I need to add that may give you more information is that my wife and I use the same iphoto library with different user accounts in the imac. I have the library located on the users\shared folder and her user and mine have read/write access to it.
This form of Sharing is deprecated in 10.5 unless you're using iPhoto 09 (specifically v8.0.2) What you're having is a permissions issue caused by the ACL's used in Leopard. iPhoto cannot access the version of the Folder it needs.
You need to either:
1. Upgrade to iPhoto 09 (v8.0.2)
or
2. Change the system of Sharing you use:
What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. The problem here is that OS X works very hard to keep your data safe and secure from the other users. You're trying to beat what's built in to the system. So, to beat the system
Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
Lastly: This method seems a little clunky at first, but works very well. Most importantly, it uses the System to do the job for you.
Create a new Account on your Mac, call it Media. Create an iPhoto Library there. (BTW: This will work for iTunes too.)
Enable Sharing on the Library:(Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other accounts. In those accounts, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. The Library will appear in the other source pane.
This means that both users will be able to see the pics. If you want to use a pic then simply drag it from the shared Library to your own in the iPhoto Window. This means that each user can have their own edits.
If you want to add photos to the Library: Log into the Media account for that purpose.
To make it all seamless: Set your Mac to log into the Media Account automatically. Set iPhoto to launch on log-in. Then switch to your own account using Fast User Switching.
Net result: a Library that's permanently available to all users but also protected. Each user can have their own versions of the pics if they want.
No partitioning, no permissions issues. Uses no extra disk space. What's not to like?

Not sure what language you are using, but for example if you have labview look at Picture Control - Zoom Attribute.vi. Its not a Dialog panel but its shows the use of the picture control. If you are using CVI then there is similar examples.

Want to cut one picture and paste it on another

I'm a first time poster, so thanks in advance for the help
My daughter's birthday is coming up, and she wants to be able to play reporter. I found a press pass jpg online, and I want to cut a picture of her and place it over part of the press pass picture.
The 2 main words on the original JPG are white with a black background. They are separated by a white field I'd also like to be able to change that black background ONLY to pink (she's 10 years old).
Can this be done with iPhoto, or will I need another app to do this. If I do, can you also point me to some tutorials for that app?

No, not a job for iPhoto, you'll need an editor for compositing.
In order of price here are some suggestions:

Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

Dont want to display "Report Successfully Run" applet

Dear Users....I Dont want to display "Report Successfully Run" applet after my report runs successfully. I'm calling report from Forms-10g Rel.2 and my browser is Internet Explorer ver.6. I'm sending my report directly to printer using Web.Show_Document.If my report is sent to printer successfully there is no need to display browser window with the above mentioned message. Is there any solution for this???

how do I fix my phone it Doesn't want to save any pictures I take and the storage isn't full ?

You'll need to wqit until you can find some fast wifi and do a direct update. It is the only thing I have seem to get to work without timely. I have a fiber connection at work so everything is quick. Two iPhones and two iPads so far.
