Warehouse Authorization.

Hi,
Is it possible to set Authorizations for warehouses?
E.g. If we have 2 warehouse WH1 and WH2,
can we authorize user1 to be able to view only WH1 and not WH2 and
User2 to be able to view both warehouses...
Please revert!

Try this:
Limitation for the user, assigns a default warehouse stock options proposed user, the user's master card. This user do this only can work with a warehouse. Now, for this user can not change the store, you take away the authority to be able to use the parameterization of form, so the store can not change documents.
Instead, the user does not apply this rule

Need to update well over 1000 BW authorizations. The update will consist of adding a new node entry in the 0Profit Center entry. What's the best way to approach this? ECatt Script? I have no experience with ECatt's yet, but would like to. But is there a better way?

Error - No authorization for object while viewing transformations in BI 7.0

Folks,
In BI 7.0, In the Data flow diagram, when I had tried to click on the transformation sybmol, system is throwing an error message No authorization for object   (authorization object ) Message no. RS_EXCEPTION250
Do I need to request for authorization to just view transformations or is this error something different ?

I am running the report with one User, and while running i am getting the error message as "NO AUTHORIZATION"

I faced the same problem yesterday, as Ivan told apply the transaction code rssm. In Business Information Warehouse Authorizations window go to checks for InfoProvider and select your Cube and click the change button. in that window you can see the which infoobjects are selected under switched on column deselct the checkboxes for authorization obj. save - refresh
and go to BPS screen execute your layout you can find your layout. I solved my problem like that.

Hi mates,
I have an BPS Application in which extensive Manual Planning functions are used. Hence, user does deal with Master Data Maintainance and Query Generation
I am trying to create a Authorization Role for this! Basically this Role should allow user to develop queries as well as maintain the Info Objects master Data.
Additionally, this role would also allow everything to be done in BPS0
Please advice if there are any SAP Authorisation templates I can use?
Thus far I've only used S_RS_COMP & S_RS_COMP1 & S_RS_ICUBE and S_TRANSLAT & S_BDS_DS & R_AREA
However, it doesn`t even allow RSA1 to be executed!

Authorizations for Business Planning and Simulation
Use
The activities that you can carry out in BW-BPS are covered by the SAP authorization concept. This allows you to grant different users different rights for accessing planning functionality.
Integration
Business Information Warehouse authorizations
As well as planning-specific authorizations, planning users normally require other authorizations too such as reporting authorizations or authorizations for master data. Make sure that the user is provided with all the necessary authorizations.
To assign authorizations for changing and displaying plan data separately, you must include the ACTVT (activity) field in the reporting authorization object. In this field the value 02 represents the authorization to change. Value 03 represents the authorization to display plan data. If you do not include the field then this corresponds to an authorization to change plan data.
You can find more information on setting up and maintaining authorizations under Maintaining Authorizations.
Authorizations for SAP R/3 systems
In addition to that, because of internal dependencies, you need authorization for the following authorization objects for data entry using planning layouts:

Planning profile (R_PROFILE)
Controls access to the planning profile. A planning profile restricts the objects that can be viewed. If you wish to view the planning objects, you must have at least display authorization for the appropriate planning profile.
Planning folder (R_PM_NAME)
Controls access to planning folders. In order to be able to work with planning folders, you also require the necessary authorizations for the planning objects combined in the folder.
Using the Web Interface Builder
Controls access to Web interfaces that you create and edit with the Web Interface Builder, and from which you can generate Web-enabled BSP applications.
Authorization for planning session and subplan (R_STS_PT)
Controls access to the Status and Tracking System. The object enables a check to be carried out whether a user is allowed access to a certain subplan or a version of it with the Status and Tracking System.
Executing Customizing for the BW-BPS Status and Tracking System (R_STS_CUST)
Controls access to Customizing for the Status and Tracking System. The object enables or forbids a user to execute Customizing.
Authorization for special access Status and Tracking System (R_STS_SUP)
This authorization object provides the assigned users with the status of a superuser in relation to the Status and Tracking System. The object enables changing access to all plan data, independent of whether and where a user of the cost center hierarchy it is based on is assigned. The authorization object is intended for members of a staff controller group, who are not part of the line organization of the company, but who nevertheless must be able to intervene in the planning process.
Combination of authorizations
In accordance with the hierarchical relationships that exist between the various types of planning objects, authorizations that are assigned to an object on a higher level are passed on to its subordinate objects. An authorization that has been passed on can be enhanced but not restricted on a lower level.
The following table presents the combination possibilities using the example of a change authorization for planning area and level:

In practice this behavior means that you can proceed according to two different strategies when setting up authorizations:

· Optimization of Delimitation of Access Rights: You assign authorizations for planning objects on as low a level as possible, and therefore make sure that access to a planning object is only possible for the person responsible for this.
Activities
Create the user profiles you require and then assign authorization objects to these profiles. Then assign the newly created user profiles to possible users.
You can find further information on the activities associated with the different authorization objects in the online documentation on the authorization objects themselves. You can call this up in the maintenance transaction "Role Maintenance" (PFCG).

Authorization Issue for Inventory in warehouse report

I face a issue in giving authorization for a single report to a user in the Inventory reports. The report is Inventory in warehouse report.
Can u please tell what are the preliminary authorizations to be set for the user to execute the report. The thing is he should not be able to see the item cost and Last purchase prices.

I am not sure if the authorization for such report is available. I just suggest you to check if form settings icon is able to access or not. if you can open the form settings, I think you can set authorization to be no authorization to access the form setting for certain users.

There is no authorization per warehouse. Yet there is a user defaults in the user setup form --> default.
You csn check it.

Transaction VASK authorization check on warehouse

Hello all,
Does anyone know why there is no authorization check on the warehouse in transaction code VASK? I have an issue where users from different warehouses are deleting groups created in other warehouses. I wanted to know if anoyone else has run into this issue as well. My solution is to create a custom transaction for VASK and add the warehouse check as well as a selection value. Does anyone else have a better soultion?

Authorization related with warehouses

Hi experts,
I want to make authorization related with warehouses. Only particular users can do material transfer (by MIGO - movement type 311) in a paticular warehouse. How can I do?

You'd have to use the authorization object M_MSEG_LGO.
You'd have to make the following ACTVT=XX;WERKS=PLNT; LGORT=SLOC; BWART=311;
PLNT is your plant
SLOC is the storage location.
XX = 03 (display only) or
Use SU21 to view the object (use find button) and double click to display documenation (or) ask your BASIS administrator.
Before you can implement the authorization object you need to activate authorization check at storage location level in transaction S_ALR_87000261 else M_MSEG_LGO won't work. You also need to understand the consequence of this is that it will hog the system performance which is why authorization check is inactive by default.

Authorization for warehouse in charge

Dear Experts,
I have a user (warehouse in charge) who is responsible for performing the following tasks:
Create GRPO
Create Goods Return
Create Deliveries
Create Returns
Create Inventory transfer.
I have the following requirements to be delivered and I seek your guidance on how to go about completing these:
I would have to suppress the row wise price information on the documents at the time of creation
I would have to suppress the document total, discount information.
Only field that the user is allowed to access is to enter quantities. He is allowed to view quantity information on any of the base documents such as Sales Order, Purchase Order etc but not the prices or amounts. Please let me know how these can be accomplished.

Material Master Views Authorization

Hi All,
I'm trying to restrict some views of the material master for some users. I've read that is possible to limit these views by the maintenance status of the authorizations but itit doesn't work for me. can you help me?
I am using "SAP_ISR_MATERIAL_DISPLAY" role in order to restrict all the views except Warehouse Managment. So, I put the maintenance status of the WM view to display and nothing else with the others. Is it wrong?
Is there any other way to do what I want?

I have made a copy of the role SAP_ISR_MATERIAL_DISPLAY and I have changed some setting in order to hide some views of the Material Master for the user. It has worked finally but doing this the user doesn't have authorization for other Transactions Code of WM like LS24, LT*, etc... So, I guess, I have to merge some roles and/or authorizations or I have to create an own role to pack everything I want for this user. Anyway, this is another issue...

Roles and Authorization strategy for SAP BIBO

Hello All,
We are doing an implementation where Source is a Oracle, SAP BI warehouse and BO XI3.1 as reporting solution.
Our customer has asked for the authorization strategy that will be implemented in SAP BI. Currently the users belong to different companies or plants or countries
Current structure is like,
User 1 belongs to Plant1 of Country1
User 2 belongs to Plant2 of Country2
user 3 belongs to Plant3 of Country1 etc..
We have more than 500 users who will use the reports. The user belonging to a particular plant should only see the plant data/Country data he belongs to.
As I understand, we need to create the roles in BW and these roles to be imported into BO to use for the row and column level security.
The options we considered are,
1. Use Bex queries in BW to with ABAP code in CMOD to identify the user belongs to Plant 1, 2 or 3 and provide necessary authorizations.
2. Create user groups based on the country or company they belong to and create as many roles as required. This will however impact the maintenance of so many roles in the BI system.
We are also forced to avoid Bex queries in BW and hence, trying to connect Multiproviders directly in BO universe.
How should we go forward in designing the authorization concept? Any better ideas?

There are two ways which we can implement this kind of authorization based on my knowledge.
1. Data Security purely at BW
If the data is secured based on roles and users, there is no need of additional authorization from BO side except at report and folder level if you go for SAP Authentication.
Once you use SAP authenication and enable single sign on option in universe connection, the SAP users can access data based on their profile set at BW.
2. Data Security from BO
Let's assume that, if nothing is set at BW and every thing to be take care from BO.
Then you could create one multiple provider for each plant / country. Create one connection for each multiprovider
Create restrictions (Tools--> Manage Access Restrictions) for each plant/country. There you can change connection names.
So you would need to create many restrictions for different permutations and combinations.
I never tries this option with Multiprovider. But It worked well with NON-SAP data.

I have sold an iphone 4 to a person in Poland. They, or I cannot unlock it. It was on an Orange contract, but supplied by carphone warehouse. Orange said that cannot unlock it , as it came from CW, CW don't do unlock service. Help!

Help what? ONLY the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Most of the UK carriers will/can not do so unless the phone is active on their network. Did you disclose that the phone was locked before you sold it? If not, then give them their money back. If you did, they knew what they were buying.
