Warehouse capacity values

Hello All,
I am looking for the the functionality in SCM that would help my organisation put "capacity" for warehouse/plant may be for every day or even every hour so when when the order scheduling takes place, it takes into account the capacity and possibly allocate the next day delivery if there is no capacity available.
Example: On 23rd Feb, our warehouse can process 200 orders having 1200 units. If there is a backlog of 180 orders with 1150 units, the next upcoming order of 50 will be processed today so system should provide CGID of today but if the order is for 110, then it goes to tomorrow's CGID. The capability should definitely exist somewhere because how else can you set the GATP to work accurately if you don't have restrictions enabled.
If such functionality do not exist, I want to understand what is the nearest capabilty that we can take advantage of.
Thanks,
Ali

The storage type customizing defines how you do capacity checks.
No capacity check
Check according to maximum weight
Check based on palletization accord. to SUT 1
Check based on maximum quantity per bin in storage type
Usage check based on material
Usage check based on SUT
Usage check based on material plus SUT
Based on these settings SAP allows maintenance of appropriate fields in create/change storage bin and uses those storage bin fields and fields from material master to calculate capacity values for the quant (table LQUA) and capacity usage in table LAGP.
Capacity calculation is a wide area  in WM, almost no customizing, small maintenance in master data, but a large area for creating errors in fields of table LQUA, LAGP while doing movements.
I recommend to read the single field helps (F1) and compare all with the info from OSS note 392776.

  • Where are PS Availability and Capacity values stored?

Hi - I am running the Assignment Work by Resource report in Project Server; which returns a histogram and details table. The table contains AssignmentWork allocated to a Resource by month. In the MSP reporting database where can I find the Availability
    and Capacity values?

My mistake overlooked the reporting DB views wherein within MSP_EPMResourceByDay_Userview has the column capacity available which in turn would give you the capacity "How much work the resource can do, for example hours per day" but then there are lot of
things to consider for eg. proposed vs commited, max units etc...
here is one such example already available on technet

should be a good starting point

  • Inventory in warehouse report value does not match balance sheet account

    Dear experts,
When I run the inventory in warehouse report, the value (using last purchase price) does not match the inventory finished goods account. Can you please advise why?
    Thank you for any advice.
    Jane

    Dear Jane,
The only report for inventory to link to financial statement would be Inventory Audit Report.
All other reports are just for your convenience. They are not financial based.

  • Stock in warehouse report - value not displayed.

In the "Stock in warehouse report" I selected this option: Price source = Last purchase price.
In the report, for an item, the value in the field "Item Price" is not displayed.
This item has a good receipt (with value) in this year.
Why the value is not displayed?
    Thanks
    Paolo

    Paolo...
    1.  Did that receipt get paid for with an AP Invoice (when last purchase price is updated)?
    and
    2.  Did you run an Inventory Audit Report before running the Inventory in Warehouse Report?
To see this maybe you can go into SAP OEC DEMO and create a new item, then create a PO - run the two reports, copy to Goods Receipt PO - run the two reports, and then copy to AP Invoice - run the two reports.  You will see the difference.
Accounting point - an item is not really valued until the AP Invoice is processed.  Only then do you know what the actual purchase cost is for a product.

  • The normal value of battery capacity for macbook pro

    Hi there,
I noticed my battery full charge capacity value is way below the technical specification from Apple.
    For macbook pro 15" early 2011 version a 77.5W battery is built-in.
However, so far after 4 cycle, my full charge capacity is 6913mAh.
It seems that I missed something. Though I didn't really notice the initial value when it's brandnew.
Statistically what's the average value of the new battery will be ? around 75W or 7500mAh? Any idea?

  • Product Group capacity can not be seen in MF50 output

    Dear All,
I can not see the product group in 'total capacity' subscreen in output of planning table MF50.
In MF50 the input parameter i am entering is product group and plant.
In the scheduling tab of input parameters detailed scheduling and capacity planning is tick.
For some product groups i can see in output as "Product Groups / Total Capacity" and also in the rows below it shows "Prod.Grp XYZ" then requirement and available quantity rows. After which the production line rows follows.
For some product groups when enter in initial selection screen of MF50 with same input parameters in output i do not see Product group but i can see "Total Capacity Data" and then the rows starts with production lines. But no information on capacity of product group.
The setup of all product group is same and are created with MM01.
    Regards,
    Vero.

    Hi Rupesh,
    Thanks for reply.
In 'Control Tab' i am not selecting any parameter. So in output i can see all materials  in 'Material Data' section which are included in product group  irrespective of requirements.
I have issue in upper half section of 'Total Capacity Data'. I can see the different production line rows with Requirement / Available rows with capacity values in each period. Unit is %.
But i do not see 1st row for Product group row with 2 subsequent rows (requirement / available) with unit KG.
I can see these rows only for some product groups but not for all.
For the product groups for which i do not see these rows have capacity requirement in selected periods which can be seen in same output in production lines rows. (where selection in input screen is product group and plant)

  • Doubt in creation of capacity

    Hi All
I have a doubt as what effect the "Active version" field has in the creation of capacity.I have created a capacity with 20 number of individual capacities within it and maintained all details pertainng to individual capacity correctly. Now when look for CM07 I am not getting the cumulation of 20 capacities as Available capacity whereas getting only one capacity value. In the creation of the capacity (in the header screen) I have not amended any value against the active version field.
Might this be the reason for the above. Please advice

Hi.Thanks for the reply.I have not proceeded upto routing. On checking only one capacity value i have stopped proceeding further.
Another unusuall thing is SAP help says if you have not enter anything against Active version field then the system will take the 'standard available capacity' for capacity planning.Hence i have the doubt as the standard available capacity viewed in cr13 is cumulative of the 20 capacities, but still in cm07 i am getting only one capacity value as available capacity.
    Please advice.
    thanks in advance

  • Stock value in Stock Valuation Report

Does anyone know how you shouid use the stock cost shown by the Stock Valuation Report?
I am looking at a database which uses standard costing, and trying to use the Stock Valuation Report to see what the stock value would be at Moving Average.
Some of the records on the Stock Valuation Report have a zero stock quantity but a stock cost (supposedly Moving Average) and a stock value. There are also records with neagtive stock costs and values.
I have found SAP Notes which confirm that you can get stock values where there are zero quantities. However if you ignore the zero quantity liines, is the Moving Average cost shown accurate or is it the case that this report is essentially useless if you have a continuous stock system?
    Regards,
    Douglas

    Hi Douglas,
I found this in one the SAP Notes.
    Symptom
In the Stock Audit Report, generated for a specific warehouse, a value is shown in the 'Cumulative Value' column even if the item does not have quantity.
    Other terms
Inventory Audit Report, Stock Audit Report, warehouse, cumulative, value, zero, quantity, average cost, System Initialization, per company, use perpetual inventory, SAP Business One
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Consulting
    Solution
The 'Manage Item Cost per Warehouse' setting in the Administration -> System Initialisation -> Company Details -> Basic Initialisation tab determines the information displayed in the Stock Audit Report.
When this option is selected, each warehouse defined in SAP Business Onemaintains its own cost. This warehouse cost is calculated whenever there is a movement of the item in the specific warehouse.
When this option is not selected, a single cost is maintained for the item per company. This cost is determined by the movement of the item within all warehouses.
SAP Business One uses the calculated costs to reduce the inventory value when stocks are issued. If the cost is managed by warehouse, then, the item cost will be from the specific warehouse where the stocks are issued; otherwise, the item cost will be the single cost.
With the difference between the specific warehouse's and the entire warehouses' costs, there is a possibility that costs remain in the specific warehouse even if the quantity is already zero. In this scenario, viewing the Stock Audit Report per warehouse may not provide accurate cumulative value of the stock in that warehouse since the valuation is a combination of different warehouses. The Stock Audit Report then can be used to check the quantities per warehouse. If the valuation of the stock is needed, the report must be generated for all warehouses
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Joseph

  • Zero Quantity, Negative Stock Value in Inventory Audit Report

    Hi all,
The Cumulative Quantity of an item has become zero but the Cumulative Value in the Inventory Audit Report displayed as -150. How to adjust it to make it zero?
    Kindly advise, thanks.
    Regards,
    Xavier

    HI Xavier,
Mentioned below is teh detail from the note mentioned by J
    Symptom
In the Stock Audit Report, generated for a specific warehouse, a value is shown in the 'Cumulative Value' column even if the item does not have quantity.
    Cause
    Consulting
    Solution
The 'Manage Item Cost per Warehouse' setting in the Administration -> System Initialisation -> Company Details -> Basic Initialisation tab determines the information displayed in the Stock Audit Report.
'Manage Item Cost per Warehouse' is selected.
If this option is selected, each warehouse defined in SAP Business One maintains its own cost. This warehouse cost is calculated whenever there is a movement of the item in the specific warehouse.
When stocks are issued, the item cost will be from the specific warehouse where the stocks are issued.
The Stock Audit Report should be viewed per warehouse in order to determine the accurate valuation of the item. The option 'Group by Warehouse' can be used for this purpose.
'Manage Item Cost per Warehouse' is NOT selected.
If this option is not selected, a single cost is maintained for the item per company. This cost is determined by the movement of the item within all warehouses.
When stocks are issued, the single item cost determined on the company level will be used.
When the item cost is calculated per company, a stock value may remain in a warehouse which has zero quantity. However, since the cost is managed across all warehouses this is ok, as long as there is an overall positive quantity.
If the valuation of the item is required, the Stock Audit Report should be run for all warehouses and not for a specific warehouse. If the report is viewed per warehouse it may not provide an accurate cumulative value of the stock.
If only the quantity in a specific warehouse needs to be checked then the report can be run per warehouse.
    Example:
    1. Create new item with standard price 10 in all warehouses, since price is managed per company and not per warehouse.
    2. Create goods receipt for this item to two warehouses - quantity 10 to warehouse 01 and quantity 10 to warehouse 02.
    3. Create material revaluation, select warehouse 01 (only one warehouse can be selected for posting purposes), and change the price from 10 to 5.
    4. Create goods issue from warehouse 02 with issued quantity 10.
    5. Run the audit report for this item and:
    a) for all warehouses -> cumulative quantity is 10, cumulative value is 50;
    b) for warehouse 01 -> cumulative quantity is 10, cumulative value is 0;
    c) for warehouse 02 -> cumulative quantity is 0, cumulative value is 50.

  • Relation between maintainance order and capacity plannig

    Hi
If i create maintainance order for workcenter or resource that has been used in capacity planning in production process then is it going to affect capacity value. if it is then how and where?
    Thanking you.

    Hi Shriram,
Well as your thread says there is a lot of impacts in different ways say:
    Cases:
If there is a order to deliver it with in two days but there is a sudden customer order to mfg and deliver it in one day then we have to check the capacity to produce the second order as well. So, at that time we do the capacity leveling & evaluation to adjust and to produce the orders OK.
So, in the same way we can have n number of orders which will come and there will be short fall of capacity OK.
    I hope it helps you.

  • Problem with TCODE PK02 with the warehouse number field.

    Hello folks,
I have created a control cycle in the TCODE PK01. When I tried to change it it is not displaying the warehouse number that I have used while saving. Also here it is showing the warehouse number as a mandatory field.
I have input the warehouse number in the PK02 TCODE and saved. I am able to see the warehouse number value updated in the table also. But again if I try to enter the PK02 TCODE , it is displaying empty warehouse number and showing as a mandatory field.
Also in TCODE PK03 tcode , I am not able to see the warehouse number field I have saved.
Can anyone address on the below issues?:
    1. how to configure the PK02 warehouse number mandatory field settings and
    2. Populating the warehouse number field in the PK02 and PK03.
    Thanks,

  • Pooled Capacity Not updating in Work center

Hi All, I want to update pooled capacity in Work center. But when i delete the existing capacity it is giving error that " Capacity still being used". Can any one suggest, how to tackle this problem? I want to give solution to Client. Thanks in Advance..!

    HI,
Capacity Utilisation rate = Actual Capacity / Theoritical Capacity
Theoritical Capacity= Shift period * No. of machines available
                                 = 8 hrs * 2 = 16 hrs
Actual Capacity value depends on how the company decides it. Say if the break 30 mins has to be considered, then the actual capacity will be 15 hrs for 2 capacities and hence,
    Capacity Utilisation rate = 15 / 16 = 93.8%
So, decide the utilisation rate based on the Company's requiremnt.
Hope the above gives you an idea.

  • Validation at a value set

Can we have reports or any value set logic where we have used the dependent valueset or the attribute concept..
We need to have one value set lets say : Vset1 ..
this should have two attributes enabled : attribute1 (source warehouse) and attribute2 (destination warehouse).
    flex value attribute1 attribute2
    E10_C01 E10 C01
    E10_C09 E10 C09
E10_C14 E10 C01 (this should not be allowed because attribute1 and attribute2 combination should be unique)
    E40_C09 E40 C09
    E40_C01 E40 C01
attribute1 and attribute2 combination should be unique...
Could some one please let us know how to go about with this requirement?

    Hi,
The issue got resolved. We need to declare the variable(For Date or Time field) as XSD:String, and add regular expression for the pattern(Under Details Column for the data type).
The regular expression for the date format ddMMyyyy is
    (0?[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])(0?[1-9]|1[012])(19|20)?\d\d
Similarly, for Time format HH:mm, the regular expresion  is
    ((([0-1]\d|2[0-3]):([0-5]\d))|([0-9]:([0-5]\d)))

  • Hashmap capacity planning

    Hi
I am new to java forum,
    I am implementing java HashMap<String,String> hm= new HashMap<String,String>(capacity??,loadfactor??)
Can someone help me to determine the formula for setting up capacity value and load factor value
I am using Hashmap to store entries from range of 250K to 1.5 million records, Mostly I use feature of containsKey for each record to determine, if key is not present then add the (Key,Value)., Finally using Iterator to print all values stored in Hashmap.
    thanks in advance.

My question is very specific to determining the capacity and load factor formula for known range of records tobe added in Hash map both with respect to memory utilisation and search speed and also best trade-off.
    Is there any formula/method?
I have configured my jvm to use max and min 1GB memory to process application.

  • Storage Section Settings

    Hi Gurus
I put in the customizing of storage type Addition to stock "M" and in the material master I mark the flag for addition to stock this does not work as spected, when I receive a PO with 2 materials on it, they go to 902, then I try to process the posting change notice but I get error no destination storage bin could be found in storage type XXX
These 2 materials have the same storage section, and I have correctly defined a strategy to place accordingly this storage section,
The current putaway is L next empty bin, and if I change to "I" addn to stock then system allows the putaway but just for one materials automatically, with the second one I still get the error but If I manually type the bin of the storage section then It allows putaway too.
Can you explain what needs to be done to allow putaway of stock in a storage type wich is divided into 3 storage sections, 2 of them are assigned to two bins each (2X2=4bins), and the last storage section is linked only to one bin. (Total of 5 bins)
The rare thing here is that in the first 2 storage section that have 2 bins each, I can put material on it only one palled on each bin, if for some reason only half pallet is placed, then no more stock can be placed there, How to check this capacities?
And for last the strategy is that system tries to putaway first in storage section 1, if no empty bin then try in sto section 2, and if no empty bin there, then it should go to storage section 3 (wich has only one bin attached) but I want to make this bin like infinite capacity so if there is no room in the first two storage sections (4 bins) then it will go to the las storage section wich can allow addition to stock and mix storage.
Please your inputs will be really appreciated on what atrategy and capacity cetting need to be done on customizing and material master of material to achieve this.
    Regards

    Julio,
Better late than never...Here are the other capacity check methods:
    Check 2:
    =======
o  SUT check must be active - if not, then config for SUT assignments to ST will not be used
o  For the material no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o  For the bin no specific capacity data needs to be entered
    o  Example:
                 u2022     Material:          1234
                 u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
                 u2022     ST/Bin:          112/112-01-01
                 u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
                 u2022     Total Capacity:     3,000
                 u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     907.200L = 2,721.600Kg (1L = 3Kg)
                 u2022     Transaction SUT:     T1
u2022     Allowed SUT for ST:     C1
o  The system stops the transaction for the transaction SUT is not valid according the SUT allowed per Storage Type configuration. Message: Storage Unit Type is not allowed for ST112.
    Check 3:
    ========
o  The material must be created for the specific ST (WM2 masterdata view) and the maximum bin qty needs to be speicfied.
o  For the bin no specific capacity data needs to be entered
    o  Example:
                u2022     Material:          3344
                u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
                u2022     ST/Bin:          113/113-01-01
                u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
                u2022     Max Bin Qty:                           750L
                u2022     Total Capacity:     0
                u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     768L = 2,304.000Kg (1L = 3.000Kg)
o  The following checks were done:
                u2022     Bin Quantity Check
u2022     The maximum bin qty was set to 750L (Base UoM)
u2022     The quantity of the product to be placed was 768L ( = 2,304.000Kg). This qty is more than the maximum bin quantity which is 750L (Base UoM), so according to the quantity the product may not be placed in the bin. Message: Maximum qty for storage bin 113-01-01 will be exceeded by 3.750CAS.
o  Note from the above that the error message is expressed on the putaway quantity and not the capacity quantity.
o  Note: No weight and volume checks are done (see the weight of transaction > bin maximum weight)
    Check 5:
    ========
o  Additional config: SPRO  Logistics Execution  Warehouse Management  Master Data  Material  Define Storage Unit Types - Specify the capacity for the SUT
o  For the material no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o  For the bin the Total Capacity field must be filled
    o  Example:
                u2022     Material:          5678
                u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
                u2022       ST/Bin:          114/114-01-01
                u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
                u2022     Total Bin Capacity:     3.000
                u2022     Total SUT Capacity:     5.000
                u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     907.200L = 2,721.600Kg (1L = 3.000Kg)
o  The following checks were done:
u2022     Capacity Check according to SUT Capacity:
u2022     The capacity of the SUT used is 5.000
u2022     The capacity limit for the bin is 3.000
u2022     The error message is displayed stating that the placement capacity is more than the allowed (maximum) capacity:
    5.000- 3.000 = 2.000 (Message: Storage Unit Type C1 exceeds remaining capacity by 2.000)
o  Note that no check according weight was done. The transaction weight was 2,721.600kg vs the maximum bin weight of 1,500.000kg
o  Note from the above that the error message is expressed on the putaway quantity (SUT capacity used) and not the capacity quantity.
    Check 6:
    ========
o  Additional config: SPRO  Logistics Execution  Warehouse Management  Master Data  Material  Define Storage Unit Types - Specify the capacity for the SUT
o  For the material enter a capacity value (WM1 view)
o  For the bin enter a capacity value
    o  Example:
                 u2022     Material:          1007
                 u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
                 u2022     ST/Bin:          115/115-01-01
                 u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
u2022     Material Capacity per BUoM:     1.000
                 u2022     Total Bin Capacity:     800.000
                 u2022     Total SUT Capacity:     5.000
                 u2022     Stock to be placed (Capacity):     907.200L + 5.000 = 912.200
                 u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     907.200L = 2,721.600Kg (1L = 3.000Kg)
    The following checks were done:
u2022     Capacity Check according to SUT Capacity:
u2022     The capacity of the SUT used is 5.000
u2022     The capacity limit for the bin is 800.000
u2022     The error message is displayed stating that the placement capacity is more than the allowed (maximum) capacity: 912.200 - 800.000 = 112.2000 (112.200 / 4.800 = 23.375CAS). Message: Maximum qty for storage bin 115-01-01 will be exceeded by 23.375CAS.
o  Note that no check according weight was done. The transaction weight was 2,721.600kg vs the maximum bin weight of 1,500.000kg.
o  Note from the above that the error message is expressed on the putaway quantity (SUT capacity used) and not the capacity quantity.
