Warehouse RF and 2 step picking

Hi Guys,
I have set up wm mobile in ecc 6.0 and also have 2 step TO's working manually but can't get them to work with a scanner.
I have one storage type one side of the road and one the other but they all form part of the same warehouse in SAP. They move items between them using mvmt type 919 (replenishment) and i want them to pick in one store and confirm in the other by a different person
Is this possible or is 2 step picking not what i think it is?
Regards
Daren

Hi,
I'm not sure your scenario is viable in (standard) SAP.
As I understand (e.g.):
- source storage type: productA 10 pc, productB 20 pcs, productC 30 pc
- intermediate storage type: SU1 (productA 2 pc, productB 17 pcs, productC 10 pc), SU2 (productA 8 pc, productB 3 pcs, productC 20 pc)
- destination storage type: bin1: productA 2 pc, productB 17 pcs, productC 10 pc, bin2: productA 8 pc, productB 3 pcs, productC 20 pc
Please notice that SAP determines the to be removed quantities (~corresponding to SU1 & SU2 but not as SUs) when you remove the goods from the intermediate storage type ("allocation") and not when you place the goods into it.
Please also notice that automatically you cannot create storage units (palletize) with different products on it (I'm not sure this is requirement in your case or not).
Please check this link where it is explained where to carry out customizing for 2-step picking and how it works:

  • Warehouse Managment (Two-Step Picking)

    Hi,
This is with reference to Two-Step picking procedure, which is not getting activated. Though we have done all customization required for TR and Delivery’s as well, as referred in the documentation provided by the SAP. The settings done are as follows.
    01)     Activation of Two-Step picking at WM Global level.
    02)     Transfer Requirement control
    03)     Transfer type control
    04)     In article master, relevant for two step picking.
    05)     At Storage type search level.
Now when try to initiate the process with transaction LT41 putting shipment type i.e. A (Stock Removal) system displays a message “No data available for the specified criteria” or if thru LT0E, system asks for a group in WM.
But when we go and try to create the single TO thru Delivery using t_code (LT03) system displays an information message, i.e. Two step picking relevancy will be lost.

  • WM Replenishment and 2-step picking with storage units.

    Dear Colleagues,
I am attempting to use SAP standard fixed bin replenishment and implement it as a 2-step picking process. Generally, the process goes as follows:
    - Generate replenishment pick tasks
    - Place the picked products onto storage units in an intermediate storage type
    - Put the products away from storage units into the respective fixed bins
I have setup the necessary parameters to get standard replenishment to work. I can run LP21 and generate all TR's, and subsequently TO's. The product moves from respective reserve bins into the fixed bins based on strategies that I have setup.
The issue i am experiencing is when I try to introduce the intermediate storage type to place the product into, before it goes into the fixed bins. Additionally, the intermediate storage type needs to have SUM enabled, so that the product gets placed onto pallets. This way, the warehouse personnel will be able to track the physical product movements before it is put away.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,

  • Report for field sammg and refnr in two step picking

    Hello Experts,
I have configure two step picking which is working fine.
But my concern is when I create a group from deliveries using VL06P, an five digit number (23717) is generated. But while putting same group number in LT72 screen for analysis or doing LT0E, I am getting en error that "this group number is not existing in system.
Then I have to go to SE16 and search in table T311. Then I found that there are two group number in this table which technical name are REFNR and SAMMG. So I have to pass 23717 in SAMMG field and note down the number (17) from REFNR field and process with REFNR number.
So is there any report whether I can get the same (when I pass SAMMG number I will get REFNR number) because my business user don't have access to SE16 again it is not acceptable to business.
Or is there anyway by which I can assign same number to both SAMMG and REFNR, so that my client will refer only one number in stead of two number.
I am hereby attaching one test data. Kindly go through it and revert to me with your analysis.
    Best Regards,
    Raghu Nayak.

as an standard SAP you should be able to process the group number(23717) it seems there is some other setting / customization or you are following any additional steps in your system which generates the another number in Group (REFNR) field of T311 as in my case i am getting the same number in both the Group field

  • Two-Step picking in Lean WM.

    Hi all!
Is it possible to configure two steps picking when you have a Lean WM implanted? My client wants to explore the possibility to use this functionality in his warehouse, but he has a lean WM, not a full one.
I have configured IMG --> Logistics Execution --> Warehouse Management --> Interfaces -->  Shipping --> Two Step Picking
In my tests, I have grouped the deliveries and when try to create the correspondent TO, system sends a message saying that it is not possible in a Lean WM.
We are using SAP ECC 6.0
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
Lean warehouse management implement for the warehouse where proper storage bin (High rack structure or location management) are not available and user want to do the picking using pick list. In this case there is a dummy bin defined in the system which helps the user to group the deliver and create a transfer order.
To leverage the 2 step picking functionality of warehouse management you should have proper location management ( Warehouse management) activated.
    Hope this will help

  • 2 step picking - Allocation step - Order of TO generated

    Hi,
We have just turned ON 2 step picking to optimize the picking process at  our warehouse. We are facing an issue in the allocation step of the 2  step process w.r.t the order in which the TO's are being generated. We  are creating single TO for each article of the delivery. When the TO are  generated they are in the order as below
    TO 1 - Article 1 - Site 1
    TO 2 - Article 2 - Site 1
    TO 3 - Article 3 - Site 1
    TO 4 - Article 4 - Site 1
    TO5 - Article 4 - Site 1
    TO 6 - Article 1 - Site 2
    TO 7 - Article 2 - Site 2
    TO 8 - Article 3 - Site 2
    TO 9 - Article 4 - Site
    2 TO 10- Article 4 - Site 2
    TO 11- Article 1 - Site 3
    TO 12- Article 2 - Site 3 etc.
This is not the desirable result. We want the transfer order to be  generated in the order of all article 1 first for all sites, then  article 2 etc in the below order.
    TO 1 - Article 1 - Site 1
    TO 2 - Article 1 - Site 2
    TO 3 - Article 1 - Site 3
    TO 4 - Article 2 - Site 1
    TO 5 - Article 2 - Site 2
    TO 6 - Article 2 - Site 3
    TO 7 - Article 3 - Site 1
    TO 8 - Article 3 - Site 2
    TO 9 - Article 3 - Site
    3 etc.
I have tried various options in the sort profile but this is yielding  the desirable effect. Also each site has its own delivery number.

I am unable to understand the issue which you mentioned. Could you please provide the steps detail along with the T-Code and at which step you are expecting system to give the result as mentioned above

  • 2 Step Picking For Replenishment.

    Hello Experts
We would like to implement 2 Step Picking for our replenishment process.  I have looked at the posts in this forum and have found some answers but I still do not have the whole story.
Our scenario is this.  Within a specific storage type BKP we have some materials that we want to replenish in a single step from a secondary storage type BSC.  These would be bulky items that we would take from high storage using a forklift and move directly to primary storage.  We also have smaller items where it would make more sense to first pick and place in an interim storage area and then in a second step put them away in the primary storage area.
I have enabled 2 step picking and created 2 movement types 850 and 851.  850 moves items from a dynamically assigned source bin in the interim storage type  (200) to the primary storage area BKP.  I have configured the replenishment to use this movement type.  The second movement type moves items from secondary BSC to the interim storage area 200 and is used to create the requirement for step 1 of the pick.  I turned on 2 Step picking for the warehouse and configured it to use 851 for the removal phase of the pick.  I also checked the box to make the 2 Step process material dependent.  In the material master warehouse management view I selected option 2 in the step-picking field for those items which are to be relevant for 2 Step picking.
My execution process is as follows :
    1) I run LP21 to create the replenishment  requirements.
    2) I run LT41 to group the requirements.  This process correctly identifies which items are relevant for 2 Step picking and which are not.
    3) I run LT0E to create the picks for those items which are relevant for 2 Step picking.  The process correctly prompts me to to create TOs for the 2 Step items and I am able to create the TOs to move product from BSC(Secondary Storage) to 200(Interim Storage)
    4) I confirm the TOs.
    5) I run LT42 to create the TOs to put all the items whether 1 Step or 2 Step into Primary storage.
Here's where I hit a problem.  The 2 Step items are fine.  The TOs are successfully created to move items from the Interim Storage area to BKP (the primary location)  But now SAP also tries to use the Interim Storage area as the source for the 1 Step picks instead of getting them from their original location in BSC.
I cannot see how to get SAP to use a different movement type for the one step picks than the 2 step picks ?
Should it be possible to use a mix of 1 Step and 2 Step picks for the same replenishment ?  If so how do you get SAP to correctly separate them ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I hope the below clarification would make you understand the scenario in a simple way.
In Inventory Management (MM) whatever you do, it will have its effect in WM.
This is done thru movement type. Every movement type of MM is linked with WM.
In inventory management the movement type is used to determine the G/L account and has some other functionalities. Likewise in WM the movement type is used to identify the Source and Destination storage types.
When you make GR in IM, it creates the accounting document in MM and subsequently triggers a TR (Transfer requirement) in WM. If you make a transfer posting(material to material) in IM, then the TR generated in WM is called as Posting Change Notice.
The replenishment will happen when you maintain the maximum and minimum level and the replenishment qty details in Material Master. It is nothing but it will trigger a TR specifying the a destination bin where the material level has gone low.
Each IM movement type is linked with WM movement type with the help of Reference movement type..
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.
    Reward if useful.

  • 2 step picking

I have created number of Outbound delivery and also created a group number for them in tcode Vl060 via WM reference
But after the group step I am not aware of further tcode to complete process ...kind of missing the sequence of steps to complete 2 step picking
however I have given a try with tcode LX39 now here i get 2 option
    a) picking
    b) allocation
can you please suggest which one should i select first ....i did give a try to both of them but i get error that storage type 007 (pallet one) does not allow negative stock......i am wondering why this message comes since 200 is the storage type where the negative quant should be created ...anyways you guys can guide me thru.

    Hi,Sap: IN :
Please check you have enough stock in 007 if the storage type is not allowed the negative stock.
2-step pick follow the below process:
1.The total quantities of materials needed are picked in the first step. Therefore, the removal for the individual requirements (deliveries and transfer requirements) is optimized in the warehouse. Since you can pick full storage units or larger quantities of materials from the storage bins, the total number of picks required is reduced.
2.Two-step picking makes it possible for you to optimize the stock removal by using a picking strategy that is based on quantity (strategy M).
3.Since removal and allocation are completely separate steps, you can also confirm them separately.
4.You can monitor each step of the 2-step picking process at any time in detail.

  • 2 Step Picking in SU Managed Whse

    Hi,
We are implementing SAP WM solution for AFS industry..
Currently we are planning to activate SU management in thw warehouse and I have questions related to 2 step picking (for out bound deliveries) in SU managed warehouse
    Scenario is:
We would like to group multiple deliveries and have one combined pick list to minimise the travel time to bn locations multiple times. Since it wil be a SU pallet, we might even bring a whole pallet to pick the necessary qty and return the remaining qty.
    Here are questions:
Do we need to implement 2 step picking for this scenario? If so.., then intermediate storage type is 200 (in which you can't activate the SU management) If I bbring the SU pallet into 200, will the SU be lost??
Can we use the Pick Point Storage type to simulate 2 step picking? In this case how can I group multiple deliveries into one group (with combined pick list)
    Please advise

  • 2 Step Picking for Outbound deliveries

My 2 step picking config in Spro is set right for sure.
I created a Group with WM reference for a bunch of (WM material) deliveries (VL06o)
Now when I do Group TO (LT42) from that screen itself.
It says "No items that are to be picked were found"
While if I view a delivery, it shows, Delivered quantity:10 and Picked Quatity: 0, I guess this is right.
Can somebody please help me with 2 step picking here.
    Regards,

    Hi Smitha,
Please check if all the items in the delivery are relevent for picking or not. If the Item category is maintained as Not relevent for Delivery then there will not be any picking.
And you can check the same in the delivery also. In the Picking tab, if you can see the Orvarll Pciking status,  Overall WM status and Warehouse No. then if it is gryed out and says as not relevent for Picking and Warehouse management then you can do picking for this deliveries.
If is is mentioned as relevent for picking, then check the ware house number for all the deliveires which you are grouping.
And yes as you mentioned, when warehouse management is active in the system, then pick qty will be grayed out in the delivery. that means you cant do picking manually. You have to pick using Transfer Order.
You can do Picking using T. Code LT03, for all the deliveries individually by giving Warehouse no. and the deliverynumber.
    Hope this is clear.
    Reward if helpful.
    thanks

  • 2-Step Picking without using Groups

    Hi all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to implement a 2-step picking process that does not require creating and processing by groups?
I have a process which is not exactly 2-step picking, but the functionality supports it - except for the requirement to create groups for the TRs.
For my process, I want a one to one relationship between the removal TO and the picking to destination TO.
The reason I need two TOs is because during confirmation of the removal TO, I need to identify a specific bin where the stock will reside before the second TO picks it from there. There will always be a one to one relationship between the two transfer orders.
Any good ideas for a solution? I'm open to other suggestions.
    Regards,
    Mark.

The business process is as follows:
Production orders generate requirements to provide materials to production supply areas. Upon production order release we create TR in warehouse.
Stock is picked from various locations in the warehouse to a "train station" where is it loaded onto a train.
The train is then driven around the manufacturing site on a specific route and inventory is dropped off at each PSA until the train is empty.
There are several different train routes.
The requirement is for a train driver to know exactly what is on the train and to have a program which shows him what TO items are loaded and then sort those items by route/PSA sort sequence to send him on his way.
There is always a one to one relationship between the pick from warehouse inventory and the requirement at the PSA.
I was hoping to use two transfer orders - one picking to a storage type that allows you to change the destination bin manually, where the destination bin = the train carriage, which would be confirmed when the train driver loads his items. The second TO would then be triggered automatically to take the inventory from the Train carriage to the PSA.
I was then going to build a custom scanning program which would look at all the items located in the bins relevant to the train in question and find the TOs, then queue these TOs according to the route PSA sort sequence.

  • TWo-Step Picking

    Hi,
We have a requirement to perform two step pick - that is the system needs to create Two TO's
    1. one for the picking material from the racks into a interim location in our case it would be Tub's - so the first part is confirmed when the material gets picked from the rack into tub.
    2. Once the material is all picked the tub's are moved into Packing area -- where the material is once again verified and packed and in this process the user confirm the second leg. which moves it into the interim storage type of 916
    3. After the two to's are confirmed they system should let the user perform the PGI.
I did check the documentation for Two-Step Picking on the SDN and have done the config accordingly but now the system is throuwing up error while converting the delivery into TO it says the grouping has not been done.
Not sure what am i missing - could you let me know the steps that need to followed to get this working.
    Regards
    Havish

    Hi Sudhir,
Thanks for the reply, I did create a Group for type " K ".
The above error comes up while creating the TO (for stock Removal), but srprsingly when i run the LT72 it says the group does not exist.
    I have done the following:
LE> WHM-> Activities->Transfers-> Set Up 2 Step picking --- put in the details for the WH as required
    LE> WHM-> Interfaces--->Shipping ---> Two-Step picking -
put in the details for the WH as required
    Created a Delivery --- VL10b
Created A group for the above delivery -
    VG01
Now when I check for Group under LT72 is says the group does not exist
also when i try to create the TO for the group it throws up the as per my earlier post.
Could you guide me what is the mistake am doing
    Regards
