Warning in DB13 Check DB "BR0970W Database administration alert"

Hi
We have an alert message in DB13 when we check the checkdb  log. Log details are as below
BR0970W Database administration alert - level: WARNING, type: CRITICAL_FILE, object: /oracle/EPR/sapdata10/btabd_11/btabd.data11, value: (max_size) 30466040 KB (> 29439485 KB)
This warning is for all the datafiles; I did just give the sample log above.
Can you please suggest and help resolving this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The issue here is that there is no enough disk space for the datafiles to extend. In this case you can turn off the auto extend or Increase the disk space of sapdata10 or decrease the max_size or you can move some of the datafiles to other directory or filesystem.
You can turn off the auto extend while the database is online. After turning off the auto extend, you need to monitor the datafile/tablespace size periodically.

  • BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: LOG_BUFFER, val

    Dear SAP Gurus,
We are getting the following error in Check Database in DB13
    BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: LOG_BUFFER, value: 14254080 (>< 4096,512 KB)
    The current Parameter : 14254080
We have change the parameter as per SAP Note#830576, still the same error is comming.
    Kinldy Help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vijay,
Are you trying to change log_buffer to a smaller size and you can't? If you on Oracle 10g, you won't be able to reduce log_buffer as according to Oracle Metalink 351857.1, "The Log_buffer Default Size Cannot Be Reduced In 10g R2".
If you are concern about the warning in DB13, go to txn DB17 to change the condition will help to get rid of the warning.

  • BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_BLOCK_CHECKS

    Dear all:
Running the CheckDB in the transaction DB13 and i get the following
    message of error:
"BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM, value: TRUE (<> FALSE)"
    Other Details :-
    OS :- Win 2003 server
    DB :- Oracle 10g
So please help on this issue.
    Thanks.
    Regards

    Hi,
Oracle allows customers to use advanced block checking features to enable a higher protection against hardware and software problems.
Also with block checking/checksum turned on, it is absolutely necessary to verify your database. Enabling this feature will only find blocks which are touched (read into the SGA).
Advanced block checking can be enabled by setting either
    db_block_checksum = true
    or
    db_block_checking = true
The reason for this warning is given in the following SAP Note 923919 - Advanced Oracle block checking features
Default recommended by SAP is TRUE.
If this information is helpful please reward points.

  • Pre-requisite for lab setup for database administration track.

Hi, does anybody know what setup is required to participate in Lab for database administration track on Feb 11?

The code you have in the rules file looks like it is incorrect. PCon would not be defined automatically and would therefore return zero. I think what you are actually looking for is something like:
    Call Hs.Con ("",HS.Node.PCon(""),"")
Note that you can determine if the consolidation rules are used from you metadata under AppSettings. Look for the setting called ConsolidationRules. If you set this to Y, it uses the rules under Sub Consolidate(), if you set it N, it will automatically consolidate even if you have nothing under Sub Consolidate().
Further, you can affect what gets consolidated in the metadata. Some of your accounts etc. may not be set correctly. Some things to check:
For Accounts, make sure that IsConsolidated is checked and the AccountType is correct
Also for Accounts, ensure that EnableCustom1Aggr ... is checked
Finally, if the Entities have different currencies, check if you are getting data up to [Parent Total]. If not, the problem is your translation and not your consolidation.

  • New in DB2 database administration

    Dear Friends,
I have installed ECC 6.0 with DB2 database , at SAP service started successfully. Also login possible. But i am new in DB2 database administration, so can you help me the list of DB2 command to check on OS level.
How listener start for DB2 database and so on.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin,
DB2 LUW/UDB does not have a separate listener like Oracle.
You're not stating what OS you're running but the follow commands are useful no matter what OS(i.e. Windows or UNIX/Linux):
    Check the patchlevel:
    db2level
    Start DB2:
    db2start
    Stop DB2:
    db2stop
(You can add force as a parameter if you wish to shutdown it down more forcefully)
To list all the parameters for the DBM:
    db2 get dbm cfg
To list all the DB parameters:
db2 get db cfg for db <SID>
Show progress of running backups etc
    db2 list utilities show detail
I really would like to recommend the IBM online help for DB2:
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/index.jsp

Please, read slowly the message you are getting:
    K Hari Shankar wrote:
    > BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_INDEX_COST_ADJ, value: 20 (<= 20)
    Lets try to understand it.
1.- It is telling you that your parameter is currently set to 20 (and that is a correct value as per relevant SAP note that you have checked)
2.- it is telling you that the current value is lower or equal to a specified valued to be checked against (<=20)
so, what could be the "problem", your parameter setting is OK, and the check is telling you the true, but you do not want the "warning"
perhaps the check is not properly configured?
    of course 0.o
it should be checking if the value is different than 20, not lower or equal to 20
therefore, you have to change the check
this is done with DB17, go to that transdaction and change the check (perhaps it is DB16, right now I'm not 100% sure which one is display and which one is for change)
